I have a 1x3 space on my home screen that could be filled with app shortcuts that can be scrolled vertically so I can add more than 3 shortcuts in that space. Note that I'm not looking for a folder implementation where clicking it opens a drawer. Anyone know of any such widgets?
Launchy might be what you're looking for

I was wondering if there is a widget or app that allows you to create frames and then place app shortcuts or widgets on them? I was looking for something that was similar to the wisbar advanced for winmo or the spb shell for winmo. They would allow you to create a square or rectangular frame on the desktop. You could then put app shortcuts or widgets on top of the frame.
So I'm redoing my home screen, and I want to have a few text icons that take me directly to specific home screens. Apex launcher has action shortcuts for this, but they are only 1x1. I cannot use widgets to get these actions... I have to use shortcuts. I have done what I want with 1x1 shortcuts, but they are just too small for my taste. I really want 2x1 shortcuts. I have not been able to figure out how to make them with either Simple Text or Desktop Visualizer.
Any suggestions?
I have exactly the same question. Did you ever find a solution?
edit: I found a clunky work-around by taking advantage of the fact that Apex lets you overlap widgets. I made a totally hidden apex action shortcut by removing the shortcut text and using a transparent icon that I made with Simple Text (careful with these, because if you forget where they are on your homescreen they're hard to find!). Then I put a 2x1 Simple Text widget (that does nothing) over the top. The problem of course is that the shortcut only works if you press the 1x1 area where the apex action shortcut is!
Like (Apps), (Games), (Widgets) ??
tabs?
there is a folder option
You can also pinch out and add a new page, one for games, one for office apps and so on... (at home)
In the drawer you can click on 'edit' in the menu and then drag an app to the page or folder icon at the bottom. Finally, pinch out will let you reorder the pages.
I've looked in the settings, and can't find anything. I'm wondering if there's a way to group apps horizontally in the app drawer instead of vertically. I provided screenshots of what I mean.
The first screenshot is how my app drawer looks now. The second one is how I want it to be.
For some reason the Google At a Glance Widget is bounded to a 5x2 space when the home page grid is set to 5x6 layout. In 5x5 layout the widget stays at 5x1.
Does anyone know why this is happening or a way to force the widget into a 5x1 space while on the 5x6 grid layout? The normal long press and drag to resize doesn't work. It just bounces back. I've also tried loading the widget while on 5x5 and then changing to 5x6, but then it bounces right back to 5x2 spacing.
For anyone else who finds this and has the same problem, I installed "Another Widget" from the playstore. It replicates the "At a Glance" widget but with much more customization available.
