All of a sudden today, when unlocking my phone, I've seen this message pop up on the home screen for like 2 seconds. I figured it was just a random fluke and powered down but then when I went to click on refreshing my weather widget which is always set to the same zip code, it happened again. This widget is set to manual refresh, I have to click it to get an updated forecast. Then it happened again a few minutes later after simply unlocking the screen like it was doing earlier.
I've had Network Location services for wifi and gps turned off for a good 3 weeks or so. I only activate those on an as-needed basis. I don't use any apps that acquire my location (weather, facebook, etc.) I have the bear minimum apps running in 'Running Services' and I'm running the configuration in my sig (UnNamed, Entropy's DD, ICScrewd Theme). Any ideas what's going on?
does it happen every time you refresh the weather widget?
if it does I would try a different widget, just to see whether it goes away.
I just had GMail do this to me this morning (when I tried to refresh - I have that set to manual). I turned on location services (wifi and GPS) and let it get my location, then turned them back off. That seemed to take care of it. Might be a cookie based kind of thing - I loaded a new ROM yesterday and hadn't let it get a lock yet.
I just remembered that I updated Google Maps yesterday via the Market. I think that's the culprit. I can't see any setting though which I can change to disable automatic updating. I've gotten this message now like 3 times this morning.
Ive temporarily turned on Location Services for wifi/GPS but I prefer them off as I get much better battery life with them disabled.

This seems to be happening to me more and more. Cannot pinpoint the culprit.
is this still an issue for anyone? It certainly is for me
My weather app updates when I tell it to and when I open the app while connected to a network. When I turn the network connection off and leave my phone off for roughly half an hour or more, the weather app decides to revert to the first weather update it received when I first got the phone. Anyone have any idea of why this is or how I can resolve it?
Help!
Well, for the 49 of you who read this, I'm still having a problem with this.
I did a factory reset this morning, and the first weather it saw after the reset is what it's resetting to again. Right around 30 minutes after I update it manually it does this.
I have tried changing every setting: turning on and off Wi-Fi/4G, enabling/disabling all locations, turning off/on sync, only update when I open the app, and everything I could think of. I tried clearing the data for all the widgets and the app itself, and it didn't affect anything.
It's driving me crazy!
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

i did have one that acting funny on the inc2, it was the audio, i turned off audio animation and it was ok, but thats a different phone i think it was on ukb x of nits.

Lucky. This is driving me crazy. I use the default HTC clock with the weather attached to it on my main home screen, so I see it every time I turn on my phone, even though I don't update the weather until I'm ready to leave most of the time. It's just that when I turn it on, I notice that it changes back.

that's weird
i don't have the weather clock on my home screen
For an even more interesting update on the weather problem I'm having, it is now reverting back to the same weather and temperature it was defaulting to before my factory reset. That either means that my weather app is completely screwed with a default weather embedded in it somehow, or not everything is wiped with its factory data reset. It didn't even take 5 minutes for the data reset, while my original Dinc took 10-15 every time. Mind you, the Inc 4G has twice the RAM and two cores at a faster clock rate, and faster EMMC read/write.
Regardless, it's still driving me crazy.

man i wish i could help ya, but i can't think of a thing, it's a system app so uninstall is out of the question, **** if we had root we could uninstall and reinstall
did you try moving it to a different screen, just a thought

Yeah, I have. It doesn't matter what screen is on or if I take it off my home screens completely. When I open the app it has changed, too.
Completely ridiculous!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Okay, I feel better now. Slightly, at least.
I did another factory data reset. This time I chose not to install any apps or do anything whatsoever to test if an app that I alone seemed to be using was causing the problem. The only things I did was set up my Wi-Fi and turn on Google Location so it would know where I am to update the weather, then I proceeded to update the weather.
I left the phone alone for an hour and it proceeded to inform me that the weather was no longer 90 and sunny but was 83 with thunderstorms. Unfortunately, it's not 83 and storming outside. That's the weather that it was when I bought my phone. Somehow it is firmly ingrained in the device that it should always be the weather it was when I bought the phone.
I really don't know what to do to solve this except wait for root or bring it back and inform them it's defective. How I could be the only one with a busted weather app, I don't know. I want to format /system 10 times so I know everything has to be gone. This is ridiculous!

CRAZY,man
Are you sure it's not dropping back to the daily forecast? I know that is what mine does when the current information is out of date.

The daily forecast for a week hasn't been 83 and storming. lol. It's only been that temperature and weather at the same time the hour I got my phone in the city I activated it. I wouldn't mind if it dropped the current temp and displayed only the high and low, but it's going to a completely outlandish scenario every 30 minutes, regardless of whether I have weather sync enabled or have even accessed the app and only viewed the widget, and even after two factory data resets. It makes no sense.

Have you tried removing the widget then adding it back and selecting "Current location"? Might be worth a try.

Yes, it's not just the widget, it's the app. I had removed the widget and opened Weather via the app drawer, after turning off update when app is opened. I opened the app and it had changed, despite saying last updated when I had last manually updated it.
Last night when I went to bed, I updated the Weather and it said '81 and clear'. This morning when I woke up it has changed to '83 and intermittent clouds'. While that's definitely a change from '83 and storming', it's wrong about it being 83 because it's '86 and sunny', and it has only rained once since I bought the phone, so it's not the daily forecast, as mentioned before. Thanks for trying, though.

Well, I haven't moved my phone more than 10 feet in the last two hours as it's my lazy Sunday. It's already changed back to 83 and intermittent clouds. I'm glad it's not storming on my phone right now, but it's still being stupid. And my Wi-Fi is off right now, so is 4G, so it can't change location.

Yeah, that's why I said the only things I can do it replace it since I'm still within my 14 days or wait for root. It's not a deal-breaker, I still love the phone, I just wish this stupid app would work for me. lol. I would do a screencast, but it takes 30+ minutes before it reverts, and that's a huge video to upload anywhere.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! And this time I don't feel better.
So, this afternoon after work I took my phone in and exchanged it for a new one, hoping to solve the dreaded 83 and storming problem. All seemed well. 3 hours went by with no weather problems. However, I just glanced down at my phone and lo and behold, 83 and storming. It's currently 82 and clear according to AccuWeather, which is where the phone gets its weather.
Could the problem be with my SIM card? I think they put my old one into my new phone.
I doubt it could be the microSD card, but I'm going to format that twice just in case.
How can I be the only one who's had this issue, and now have had it on two phones???

does the weather lock screen do the same thing??
I'm just posting this in case others run into this same problem.
My watch was buzzing on the hour even though my current watch face didn't even have an option for that feature. Previously I had loaded the clock face "Kokoclock Sun&Moon". Pretty slick watch face but the time was too small to read easily. I deselected it almost immediately and forgot about it. Later I noticed I was getting hourly vibrations and my Fit and it me a long time to trace it back to the Kokoclock. Even though it wasn't currently selected it left the hourly alarm ON. I reselected Kokoclock, removed the Hourly Alarm option and the hourly vibrations disappeared. Others may catch on faster but this is just a heads up.
Hi. Uninstall from your phone the app koko clock. And fixed!

Strangely mine continued to vibrate hourly even after I had uninstalled kokoclock. Only after I reinstalled it and reset hourly alarm did I get it to stop.
From my Note 4 via Tapatalk Pro.
Hi there,
reading about this problem gives me hope that the kokoclock will work as I need it to be. Maybe you can tell me.
I'm thinking about getting the Samsung gear fit or any other smart watch that will let me do the following:
-Give me an hourly vibration signal (like the kokoclock) but without a phone connected.
I just returned a sony SM2. There was an hourly vibration app, but the problem was, that the phone had to be connected (via bluetooth) for the watch to give the hourly vibration signal. The app was actually running on the phone and the phone gave the hourly signal to the watch. The problem is that I don't want my phone with me while I'm doing sports but I still want the hourly vibration. So reading about your problem makes me think that the kokoclock was installed on your watch and even when removed from the phone still worked fine.
Am I asuming right? Does anybody know if the watch will do what I want or do you know any other watch that will?
Thank you so much and best regards!
Anton
Night clock freeze and dont show real time after 2 hours
When i wake up screen it show again correct hour
Is there a solution for that
I am on 6.0.1 full stock
No one can help?
At last someone with the same problem as me. Have you solved this yet?
Don't use Night Clock but I think the root cause must be the new Doze feature on Marshmallow, remember that it closes everything after some hours to save battery. So if you can find what is the name of the apk package related to the Night Clock feature, you can go to Battery settings, and then click on the 3-Dots menu on the top right hand corner and then disable optimization on that apk package, I have a feeling it might be "Edge Screen" try disabling Doze on it first.

no not solved until now
Same here, clock not showing up afther one our
who solved it ?
Not me. It can't be doze related because doze doesn't work while charging... does it?
Night clock freeze
I had the same problem with my galaxy s6 edge. I solved it by uninstalling the update that had occurred with edge screen. Go to application manager then more then show system apps then edge screen then uninstall update. It asks if you want it to uninstall the update and return to the factory state. Once uninstalled it says that cocktailbar service has been uninstalled. The freezing no longer happens. I do remember an update message telling me cocktail bar service had been updated quite a while ago but I thought nothing of it.

Hi Mark,
I thought I had solved this problem but it appears I haven't.
The only way I can stop the night clock turning off "freezing" during the night is by disabling access to the internet by putting into flight mode or not having WiFi such as when I'm away from home.
The freezing usually occurs between 2am to 4am depending on what time I put the phone down for the night by my bedside.
It is almost as if something interupts it by checking for updates or something like that.
Do you have a solution yet?
So far no software updates seem to have solved it.
Kind Regards

I turned sync off the other night and it was fine all night. Tried it again a second night and it froze again. Thought I had found a work around but sadly not. Reported several times to samsung but still no acknowledgement or fix.
