In all my apps, I have added code to have my app verified on my web server. It's mostly for catching warez users.
I have noticed in the last few months several entries for some of my apps that originate from Google headquarters in Mountain View, California, USA. I figured they must have some staffers dedicated to validating apps for illegal content. I thought they'd use the Play Store to install the app in the first place.
I didn't think too much of it until a few days ago when I noticed that two of my paid apps were being used to access my web server yet the Play Store didn't register purchases for that time. This happened right after I published the apps (just a few minutes after).
I'm aware IPs can be spoofed but considering the apps were calling home even before the apps became available to all users (the Play Store has to propagane published apps around the world and that takes several hours), I have reasons to believe the apps were actually being sideloaded at Google.
Does anybody know anything about this? Google's terms mention nothing about Google being authrorized to sideload apps (much less paid apps).

Amazon App Store
I have been using the Amazon App store on my Gtablet since it first opened. Apps worked great. Recently all of my apps disappeared from the App store. I can no longer get updates. I contacted Amazon and was told on 3 seperate occasions that Amazon had a new filter in place to filter out Apps that the developer said did not work on your device. Well that is a lie. They filtered out all but about 8 apps that I bought. 40+ apps that worked perfectly like Angry Birds and Cut the Rope. What I suspect is that Amazon Filtered every device the developer did not know about. What developer can certify every single android device. The answer is none.
Has everyone else found this to be an issue? Has anyone determined a way to fool amazon into thinking you have a different tablet that amazon things runs most apps? I am not running a custom rom and see no need to but if it it fixes Amazon App store I am open to the issue. I was kind of waiting for a stable Honeycomb (preferably from Viewsonic).
Amazon did give me a credit for the Apps I have purchaced and all the apps I have purchaced are still on my device and work so my only real complaint with Amazon is "How can anyone ever trust them again".
I ran into the same problem on my stock Gtab (build 3588). So far, I've been successful at sideloading several missing "purchased" Amazon apps to the Gtab via my G2 using Titanium Backup. Obviously this is not a preferred long-term solution.
My next step is to try a new build.prop file as noted in thread 861044.
For reference, here's my current Amazon appstore count of "My Apps/All" on three different devices:
T-mo G2: 62
G Tablet: 8
T-mo TP2: 61
The Touch Pro 2 is running Project Android with an uncharged Italian prepaid SIM card, and for some reason, the only app missing is Age of Zombies (which for the most part, works fine on Gtab via sideload).
Amazon only half prevented
I have since found that while you cannot go to my apps and update them you can find the app in the store and it will indicate it needs to be updated. When you select update nothing happens. when you close down and start the store back up it installs the app.
I have also found that you can still buy apps even though you can never update them.
I also have about 60+ apps purchaced and only 8 that show up on my gtablet. The issue I have is I do not have another Android device.
This happened to me as well. I contacted amazon, but they were of no help. So I took what I know, and others experience with different apps and found the solution.
Go to settings, applications. Find Amazon app market, and wipe data and cache. Open the market back up, log in (you'll need to re-enter username and password) and tada your apps have returned.
edit:
another solutions would be to uninstall, and re-install the app market.
Yesterday morning, after downloading the free app of the day, I checked "my apps" and it said that I had only 11 new apps. When I selected "all" I saw 14 apps. After wiping data and cache, I now have 74 "new apps" and 115 "all" apps.
I described the problem to Amazon 2 times, and I still don't think they understood what I was saying. I tried telling them that I had an app (Grisly Manor) installed on my tablet, that I had downloaded for free from them. In the Amazon app, it no longer appeared in any of my lists. On the web version, it shows up as being "purchased" I have a receipt and all...but it no longer shows on my Amazon App interface.
each time they instructed me on how to open an app, or how to open the "all" page in "my apps."
They are morons, I'm just glad I figured it out on my own.
Worked great
I talked to Amazon a number of times and even more than that. Amazon told me that they had corrected their compatibility filter to only allow apps that were compatible with my device. They said incompatible devices were given to them from the developers. I told them that was a load of .... and there was no way developers verified every single device to say if it worked or not. I suspected that if what they said was true they were only allowing devices that the developer said worked and ours is probably long forgotten.
Some kind of corruption issue is a much better answer.
Thanks a lot.

Didn't work from me.
Clear cash and data, still no previously installed apps showing.
Uninstalled and re-downloaded and installed, still no apps.
Running stock 3558 with enhancements.
Is anyone else having a problem with Amazon App Store.
I still cannot find any apps compatible with Gtab.
Clearing Cache and Data fixed the issue for me
I am running the stock rom with all updates from viewsonic. When I cleared the data and cache in the Appstore all of my apps returned. It went from 8 to over 80.
It never prevented me from buying apps just seeing them in my apps and updating them. I have never had any issue with finding apps to buy including the free app of the day.
Many years ago, Google Play store changed the way they posted reviews for their apps. Back in the day, you could essentially remain anonymous and your review would have the posted name of "A Google user".
Then one day Google changed that. They insisted before you can make a review, you had to agree to using your name, whatever name was associated with your Google account.
I tried to no avail to be a "A Google user". I have a rooted device. I tried older versions of Google Play store, but it always kept on updating to the latest version.
I still see today, even more so, so many reviews by people who are called "Google user". How are these people able to leave a review as "Google user"?
I'm really pissed, that with the latest play store, I have absolutely no way of looking at previous apps I have used for yrs.. I have looked all over the place, and can not find any sign of apps I used and have payed for, that still work... I do have some back up, but the idea of them basically telling me what I can and can not install from previous yrs is pure bulls**t. The idea of getting a iphone soon is getting better and better with each passing day.
What Google play store version are you on?
Whatever the newest one is....29.5.14-21
Is it the new Material You design? What country are you from?
In UK law, they are required to give you access to any digital content you have purchased so I doubt they would get rid of the library when they require it for compliance.

In play store press your profile picture next to the search bar.
Press library
My purchased apps appear in there, from years back. If yours don’t, are you sure you haven’t accidentally used a different Google account to previous phones?
If you're logged in in a browser with your Google account, you can see what you have paid for by simply going to
Sign in - Google Accounts
play.google.com
and instantly see your purchases. Looking at my (long) list, I have no idea whether it also holds apps that are no longer available.
And here appears to be the list of all apps you ever installed:
Sign in - Google Accounts
play.google.com
(XDA makes weird titles for the links, but you can look at the URL and see whether you feel they are legit (they are))
"The idea of getting a iphone soon is getting better and better with each passing day."
In the move from 32 bit to 64 bit about half of my purchased iOS apps went unusable on newer devices, and games like Monkey Island have just vanished from the iOS app store without any notice, or any evidence that you ever purchased it, so also without any possiblity for a refund. So I don't think Apple does this better than Google....

The issue with my missing purchase was resolved.. I'm not sure what the issue was.. After a couple of hrs, and my phone finishing up updates after Samsung installing my new mainboard all seem to appear.. I'm not crazy, but even when logged into my pc, none of my apps would appear.. I have been using the same google account for yrs.. I only have one. I do know this.. Some of my apps that are back, were not available to me 6 months ago.. Maybe this has happened to others, and complaints were sent to google.. And with newer updates these issue were resolved..
I recently started using Onn. tablets from Walmart primarily to access the Xfinity and Peacock streaming service apps that are part of my home cable/isp service.
In general I have zero interest in using these tablets for their primary function which appears to be to get children to spend their parents money buying tokens and gold for a bunch of senseless games, but I have found that there are a few functions these devices can perform that are actually in my benefit as opposed to google's.
The way I've been using these tablets is to disable pretty much every Google (and Walmart) related app. I do have to keep Play Store and Google Play Services accessible although most of the time I keep even them disabled. The only time I enable the Play Store and Google Play Services is the rare time I actually want to buy a premium app, after which they are immediately disabled.
So things had been working as I wanted them to until one day I had cause to visit the Play Store which pushed an upgrade to both Play Store and Google Play Services after which a couple of apps that had been fine suddenly started failing with a "Failed to load libmain.so" error message. I did later uninstall the upgrades from both Play Store and Google Play Services but that didn't fix the issue.
So does anyone have any idea of anything I can do to fix this? Please note that my current abilities are pretty much limited to simple ADB commands.
I have the same issue though i dont know how to resolve it
Prob go to the Unity forums maybe they have a solution
I tried to look there but im best at Windows commands
Anyone with a solution?
Advice appreciated please.
After using the UK "The Times" app for years but had become expensive I chose their European option which was much cheaper, easily cancellable, but required payment only via Google Pay.
Have been using it for a year, but decided to change to a new UK subscription. Google Pay sub was cancelled.
I uninstalled the app (after deleting cache and data) but on downloading the app again from Play Store, I find that the original account data is still there, showing the Google Pay sub information.
And as the app opens it shows "checking Play Store purchases"! And it does seem that this may be the core of the problem, since normally one subscribes direct to the Newspaper.
There is no "logout" option.
Have tried several times, but can't get a pristine app.
How can an uninstalled app contain the original user data when re downloaded? From where is it picking up the information?
I have asked The Times for their help, but in the short term 4 days) they have been unable to come up with a solution.
I have the same issue across 4 different Android devices, phones and tablets.
I suspect the problem is more Play Store associated than app associated.
Advice appreciated please.
