[Q] Remote enabling GPS - Stolen Device - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
The unthinkable has happened, I forgot my phone in a public place...
*The phone is a One PlusOne
*Running 5.1.1
*It's rooted
*Its not encrypted so theoretically someone could wipe the device bypassing the lock screen
*I know that no one has wiped it yet because I can remotely install apps via playstore and verify that they have been installed, meaning LTE is still enabled, and it has battery life.
*I have Android Device Manager installed
Here is the kicker, I habitually leave GPS disabled to lengthen battery life. I've remotely installed Cerberus to the phone but I'm not sure if there is any use trying with cerbus if I haven't launched or signed into cerberus on the device itself. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on how I can remotely activate my GPS? I'm running out of time before the battery dies or someone wipes the device. I have to either locate it or remotely clear the internal memory.
Thanks for any help guys.

GPS stays on after hard reboot

Hi, I have noticed that my little GPS satellite icon stays on and is draining the battery constantly after a hard reboot. Does anyone know why this is? I have not done anything out of the ordinary and its never done this. I know it would come on once in a while and then turn off, but this time its on all the time. Im on the latest OTA update on the HTC EVO 3D unrooted.
UPDATE...I just shut down my phone and turned it back on, and now seems fine, dont know why with a reboot instead of a shutdown the GPS goes crazy.
A lot of the time apps will request gps location and won't shut it off until it finds a fix. If you're in a location where gps signal sucks, that could be the culprit. I discovered Facebook does this for example.
I have been using LBE Privacy Guard to monitor what apps are trying to do so I can deny or allow them to access certain permissions. Of course, by default a lot of them don't prompt so def check through your apps from within LBE. Now, LBE does claim to require root, but I don't think it would hurt to at least try. The active protection service is the only option that i've seen ask for super user permission. Might be worth checking out, but not sure how well it'll work for unrooted phones.

[Q] A PIN/other lock on turning your phone off?

I've been searching unsuccessfully to find an app that would require one to enter a PIN or satisfy some other security measure in order to switch off the phone; or alternatively where you can't turn off the phone when it's locked. I don't believe one exists, and would be overjoyed to be proven wrong.
This is because in the event your phone is lost or stolen, the first thing the thief or finder always does is to immediately turn off the phone. That pretty much leaves any 'Find Your Phone' feature completely useless in the immediate aftermath, which is the crucial period when it's most useful (while the thief or finder is still geographically close to you) - you have to wait helplessly until such time as they decide it's safe to turn your phone on again, by which time they'd also have pulled your SIM ... and if they'd ALREADY reformatted your phone BEFORE turning it on again, then most anti-theft apps are pretty much dead in the water.
I was thinking, that on a unibody phone where the battery can't be pulled, an "Unlock to Switch Off" used in conjunction with other security measures such as the various phone anti-theft apps out there would make an incredibly powerful and effective, TRUE anti-theft/loss phone. (Avast has a feature on rooted phones that locks the OS so you can't reformat the phone once the feature is activated or when the SIM is changed. Again, only useful if you managed to activate the feature PRIOR to them reformatting.)
I understand that this feature would probably require some form of overriding the usual hardware "hold for 10-15 secs to turn off" implementation baked into phones where the battery can't be pulled. Would this be possible without also greatly annoying someone whose phone is genuinely hung?
*BUMP*
Really, there aren't any options for this at all?

[Q] Play Services cut-off my cellular abilities when there's no internet

Hi everyone - I actually don't know who else to ask but this issue has been driving me mental for the last couple of months. After days and nights of investigating and looking through various forums and articles, I think I can find (or try at least) the words to describe my problem more...technically))
So OK, first off the device is Huawei Ascend G510-0100 running KitKat under the Cyanogenmod platform but the issue was already present with the factory's 4.1 ROM. I thought rooting the phone, installing just brand-new everything and having a bloatware/clutter-free Android OS would rectify all the causes of this nightmare but no. I'm not the only one with this problem: Google-search the issue and you'll find numerous forum threads where users seek for a solution to this "software loophole" as well as one of my friends (Galaxy S2) and another one with the HTC One X+ so I rule out my phone's model, OS version or just my device being faulty from the list of potential causes.
So - every time I turn my WiFi off on purpose or when I go out of my house (where logically my phone looses home's wireless signal) - the location services and the app synchronization processes stumble, mess up, run into and furthermore cause internal system mess-ups from such "unexpected" losts of internet. After that I can't make a phone call, send SMS or run USSD codes (checking credit balance etc) but I can still receive calls and texts - basically I fail to reach my cellular services but the service can still reach me. Turning Airplane Mode on and then off or simply restarting the phone altogether temporary fixes the cellular problem until the next time the internet becomes unreachable to Play Services. I tried turning location and sync off, tried different location/sync options...I wish I could disable Play Services but then I wouldn't be able to use the Play Store - | tried messing around with probably every single option available and possible but the Play Services still failed me and.......I honestly don't know what am I missing and where to look next
Edit: (I never use the mobile data btw)
Any suggestions? Anybody? I'm hopeless at this point :crying:
Thank you all...
...
Anyone? Please...

[Q] Enable Android location access from PC

Hey guys,
I need to enable the Android location access from my PC because I lost my phone (LG G2)..
I already searched for it while I had my alarm sound on the highest volume (with Google Device Manager), but had no luck.
In order to track the phones position I need to enable it from my PC, but I'm running out of time because the accu is dying soon.
I can still use Whatsapp Web, so mobile data is enabled, but it also says that I need to charge my phone soon..
Fast response is needed altough I don't think that it's possible.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: NVM, accu died, bye phone..

Detection of Keylogger

Good morning,
I have a Galaxy Tab S that is rooted. Yesterday morning I woke up to a Skype message tone hoping that my family had sent me a message. However, I noticed that messages were sent to few of my contacts with an attachment from my account. It is obvious that something fishy is going on. I am just not sure how bad it is. My tablet is the only device with my skype account.
I ran two antivirus software scans 1) Kaspersky - no issues detected and 2) AVG. AVG identified two warning
1) "Unsecure privilege mode detected. Your device is running in High Privilege mode (i.e., it has been rooted) we recommend using only genuine firmware"
2) Enabling 'USB Debuggin' is not recommended unless you use your device for software development purposes.
I just rooted my device and am not using any custom ROM. I have rooted it about close 3 years now and never had any issue. With regards to the second message, I don't ever recall enabling the 'USB debugging' and I can't even find that option to turn it off.
Can someone please let me figure it out what is going on with my situation and what are the next steps. I haven't rest my accounts as it was useless cause this is the only way to access the internet. I would first solve the virus or keylogging issues (if the case) and then fix on working resetting the accounts.
I use only my office machine (which I am using it right now) to access my bank accounts or my personal emails. The tablet is mostly for Streaming apps, games, and Skype.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and advice.
