Will a developer please explain in order the process to install custom ROM on VS985 10b
I have already flashed to 10B, root w/ one click root, installed flashify, flashed Philz CWM, in recovery i wiped everything, installed Bliss Pop 3.3, installed Banks GAPPS, then I tried flashing Bliss kernal and bam soft brick. Sorry I guess I'm still a Noob. Will someone please explain what i did wrong and the correct way to go about this. I am currently VS985 10B w/o root. I will try to be patient and wait to try again when someone corrects me. lol Thank you to all developers and especially the Bliss Pop team! I love the ROM, still trying to get used to LP though.

The order of flashing you explained is fine. Make sure the kernel is made for the same build as your ROM, ie. 4.4 kk, 5.0 LP, or 5.1 LP etc.
Since everything is fine until you flash the kernel, I'm betting the kernel is not matching the rom.

I am stock, locked, s-on, and rooted with zedomax one click so i could use wifi teather and titanium backup. How can I apply the ota and still keep root? If that's not possible what do you recommend?
Are u using a custom Rom? If you are then wait for one of the Rom developers to incorporate the latest ota.

Noob here don't know how. I thought I couldn't flash any Roms with zedomax one click root method and locked s on. Detailed instructions would be greatly appreciated.
Can someone be straight up with me and tell me why no one has answered my question?
no one will give you a straight answer because what you want to do is kinda not recommended on any device.
general rule of thumb is not to ota after root. so what you should do is get s-off using lazypanda which allows for flashing of custom roms and such and follow my guide that is in my signature to make sure that it goes smoothly (but ignore the part of flashing fresh rom, you can do it on stock with just root) then once you achieve s-off you can either stay stock and wait for a rooted version of the newest update for you to flash through twrp or you can flash any other rom (i run flex 360's rom, i find it the smoothest rom ive tried) and then just flash the radios from the newest update which will give you all of the 3g improvements (which is basically all you need, you can flash roms based off of the newest update at a later time)
if you need any further help feel free to pm me at any time and i will help you out
edit: also, after re-reading your original post, there is no way to keep root after ota so if you accept it you will have to wait for another root exploit which may take a while.
Can you give us new guys a step by step instructions for installing the new ota update> I have stock rom phone rooted with TWRP. Do we need to do a factory reset and clear the Cache, Dalvic Cache and System or can we just install the Odexed zip?
He can't flash a Rom guys, he can't get a custom recovery.
Op, get s-off first and the. Get your recovery and flash a romt

You can't flash AOSP roms on MK2/Safestrap, only TW (TouchWiz) based roms matching your current stock version (4.3).
thanks Oishi,
Can I flash back to an older stock rom that is not safestrap?

No, once you're on Stock MK2 you're locked to MK2 and have no other options than safestrap.

Here is a somewhat current list of compatible SS Roms

Also check page 1 in the Android Development section; There are a few new ones that look tempting such as BajaRom for TW
Check out Eclipse 3.0 for an AOSP feel with TW compatibility.

Jackie or anyone else, please help me with one thing, pretty please!
I am using a custom 5.02 Lollipop rom. The Kernal used within the rom unfortunately uses CM source/Cyanogen recovery which is $hit!!!
When entering recovery, I'm unable to do anything. Flashing ANYTHING including apps or roms fails every time. I keep getting verification fail or something similar followed by errors... Aside from formatting data, cache the recovery is useless.
Previously I was using stock Lollipop 5.0. I used Jackie's dual recovery which is no doubt the best there.
Also on Kitkat I was using Jackie's custom kernal which had the best of both, CWM & TWRP dual recovery.
This is just what I need on my custom Lollipop rom. I require dual recovery which includes CWM & TWRP.
Please could someone kindly assist on how I can flash Jackie's dual recovery CWM/TWRP WITHOUT losing data or experiencing bootloops!
I tried several times previously to flash Jackie's dual boot recovery and this resulted in constant bootloops. In the end I had to revert to stock and re-flash the rom all over again.
Many thanks for anyone who can assist.

I used Jackie kernel for my first successful ROOT.
I'm using multi ROM now. Gives very useful TWRP. Was very easy to install as I was running candy5 which was already kexec patched.

Thanks for the reply. However, Jackie said his dual boot kernal was not compatible with Lollipop.

I'm not 100% sure since I've not tried straight cm.
I have candy5 as a primary ROM. Then I got multirom manager from play store. Followed steps to get multirom.
Then I leave candy5 all set up functioning the way I want, and play with other ROMs as secondaries. I mainly use validus, but have successfully set up liquid smooth, aicp, resurrection as secondary ROMs to try. I download straight to phone then flash zips from the multirom twrp.
Works for me. Although it didn't like the scrubber gpe port.
There is a multirom thread under xzu original android development.
Good luck

Thank you so much for all your help, much appreciated. I also tried several roms, unfortunately none were perfect. GPE Port is the best for battery and stability. However, other roms such as resurrection and Cyanogen were better for themes, customization and being much faster. However, battery life was twice as bad as Scrubber port...
All I want now is to use TWRP or Clock work mod recovery since I'm stuck with Cyanogen Mod recovery which is $hit. Previously I attempted to flash CWM recovery and I was left with boot loops...
I keep getting this error which says, "boot certification vertify". when I try to go into recovery mode. To begin with, I have updated my vs985 to 5.01 lollipop and then I had my device rooted. From this I have tried using apps like Flashify or using adb to flash TWRP 2.8.6.1 touch recovery for vs985. When I flash it I then boot into recovery to see that boot certification error. Can someone please help me fix this? If you need any more info just ask.

You need to upgrade with jasmine or skydragon stock roms from a kk build, if you want to keep twrp and root. You have some partitions that need to be replaced, that's why you get the error.

So I would just flash the Jasmine rom then I could reroot my device and flash twrp or do I have to root and flash twrp, install partitions and then upgrade with Jasmine rom?

Did you flash to a KK 12b version method?
Using the image that Sublime posted resulted in the same issue.
I upgrade my phone to 12B then I rooted and flashed the newest version of twrp which happens to be then 2.6.8.1 version I think. Then I flashed the Jasmine rom....

Use the latest version that TWRP Manager offers, then use TWRP to flash the latest one on XDA made for the G3.

I just got the MM update warning on my V10. Currently using Stock, debloated, rooted ROM. I'm thinking I want to upgrade to stock MM 6.0. I tried the install but it rebooted into the customs recovery. How can I get the MM upgrade to work from the custom ROM I am on?

First you'll need a new recovery TWRP 3.0.2
Second - You'll need to delete the ota update because once you "accidentally" install it you'll cry that you cant root and want to downgrade back to LP.
C. Go to the Dev section and Download the Rom that was built using the ota i just told you to delete. You'll be much happier with a Rom rather than a OTA update thats non-rootable.
Oh..theres also multiple threads regarding the ota.. Doing a simple search wouldve made things a lot easier.
Heres the link to the MM T-Mobile H901 V20E Rom.

Well the OP of the link I posted updated his 1st post. But since you're rooted you should just be able to follow the instructions.
1. Update your recovery to TWRP 3.0.2 (GROGG's build)
2. Download the Rom. Its a 2 part Download. So you'll need Part 1 and Part2 build 005
Dont flash anything until youre certain your recovery is 3.0.2 otherwise you might end up bricking or certain partitions might not be flashed.
If anything read the link OP a few times.
