I just got the MM update warning on my V10. Currently using Stock, debloated, rooted ROM. I'm thinking I want to upgrade to stock MM 6.0. I tried the install but it rebooted into the customs recovery. How can I get the MM upgrade to work from the custom ROM I am on?

First you'll need a new recovery TWRP 3.0.2
Second - You'll need to delete the ota update because once you "accidentally" install it you'll cry that you cant root and want to downgrade back to LP.
C. Go to the Dev section and Download the Rom that was built using the ota i just told you to delete. You'll be much happier with a Rom rather than a OTA update thats non-rootable.
Oh..theres also multiple threads regarding the ota.. Doing a simple search wouldve made things a lot easier.
Heres the link to the MM T-Mobile H901 V20E Rom.

Well the OP of the link I posted updated his 1st post. But since you're rooted you should just be able to follow the instructions.
1. Update your recovery to TWRP 3.0.2 (GROGG's build)
2. Download the Rom. Its a 2 part Download. So you'll need Part 1 and Part2 build 005
Dont flash anything until youre certain your recovery is 3.0.2 otherwise you might end up bricking or certain partitions might not be flashed.
If anything read the link OP a few times.

I am stock, locked, s-on, and rooted with zedomax one click so i could use wifi teather and titanium backup. How can I apply the ota and still keep root? If that's not possible what do you recommend?
Are u using a custom Rom? If you are then wait for one of the Rom developers to incorporate the latest ota.

Noob here don't know how. I thought I couldn't flash any Roms with zedomax one click root method and locked s on. Detailed instructions would be greatly appreciated.
Can someone be straight up with me and tell me why no one has answered my question?
no one will give you a straight answer because what you want to do is kinda not recommended on any device.
general rule of thumb is not to ota after root. so what you should do is get s-off using lazypanda which allows for flashing of custom roms and such and follow my guide that is in my signature to make sure that it goes smoothly (but ignore the part of flashing fresh rom, you can do it on stock with just root) then once you achieve s-off you can either stay stock and wait for a rooted version of the newest update for you to flash through twrp or you can flash any other rom (i run flex 360's rom, i find it the smoothest rom ive tried) and then just flash the radios from the newest update which will give you all of the 3g improvements (which is basically all you need, you can flash roms based off of the newest update at a later time)
if you need any further help feel free to pm me at any time and i will help you out
edit: also, after re-reading your original post, there is no way to keep root after ota so if you accept it you will have to wait for another root exploit which may take a while.
Can you give us new guys a step by step instructions for installing the new ota update> I have stock rom phone rooted with TWRP. Do we need to do a factory reset and clear the Cache, Dalvic Cache and System or can we just install the Odexed zip?
He can't flash a Rom guys, he can't get a custom recovery.
Op, get s-off first and the. Get your recovery and flash a romt

I was rooted with stock 4.0.3 and unrooted so I could do the OTA update. Now, unrooted, TWRP is interruping the OTA update on the install. How can I remove TWRP?
Thanks!
You aren't fully unrooted.
Also, I would highly suggest just flashing the updated ROM. You should never unroot in order to take an ota and then reroot

I've read mixed opinions on this. Many Dev's have said just to unroot using the TWRP, then install the OTA, which is what I tried, and now TWRP opens up in the install process. As far as still being rooted, I cannot do anything that requires root, so I assume I am unrooted.
I prefer to OTA update. I've had too many issues with updated rooted ROM's in the past, so I would rather not flash a ROM.
I dont think removing twrp will do anything for you. You need the stock recovery to flash an OTA. You would need to RUU to stock after relocking your BL and then take the OTA if thats what you wanna do. Unless there is a stock recovery floating around to flash in twrp. In the past for every phone I have every tried you need the stock recovery to flash the OTA update.

Bad idea. What Roms are you using? There are fully stock rooted Roms available that the only difference is they are rooted. That is the only coding or programming difference. You are spending a lot of time dong something that doesn't need to be done. You can get everything you need from a stock odexed rooted ROM. Plus you having to wipe the slate clean on your phone each time there is an ota.

Just flash the stock recovery. Make sure that first you're on an odexed ROM, then flash the stock recovery, then search for the OTA update and install it.

New firmware is out NJ6. I can't get the OTA yet but it is available from KIES. Hopefully this will solve all of my signal issues.
I saw this on sammobile as well...most likely this will close the current root loophole...will wait patiently until an awesome developer can create a rooted 4.4.4 rom.
Yes, I did lose root but that is okay with me if it helps my signal. Haven't been able to test it in problem areas yet.

I actually have 4.4.4 rooted right now on my device but safestrap doesn't work properly now. It starts to load but then reboots into OS.
The first 4.4.4 rom I made would boot, but only had a black screen (kernel modules didn't match boot.img), then I tried the nj6 boot.img and got the warning about unauthorized kernel. So, I decided to try one more thing. I reflashed the pre-rooted 4.4.4 rom I made and then flashed all of the 4.4.4 firmware in Odin EXCEPT for the system partition. This allowed me to boot into my rooted nj6 4.4.4 rom.

I was having the same issue when I tried to port Sprint 4.4.4 It would boot but I get black screen... Are you sure you flashed the 4.4.4 bootloader?
I would try to make a deodex 4.4.4 system flashable zip and flash and then right after it reboot to odin and flash the 4.4.4 kernel might work without flashing the bootloader and that way we have a working SS.
Kind of a newb to Note 3 firmware upgrades. I just downloaded the new NJ6 firmware from Sammobile. What's the best way to flash this?

The only way to tell if it will work is to have someone flash just the system when its a flashable zip and then reboot to download and flash kernel via odin

I tried that and it didn't work. The NC4 bootloader won't let you use the NJ6 boot.img. It gives the unauthorized software message.
I've been messing with this all day, to no avail.
When I first got my M8, I unlocked it and installed Android Revolution HD 7.0. As part of the process, I created a backup of the stock ROM.
Everything worked fine until I decided today that I wanted to update to a custom ROM with Lollipop. I tried the newest version of Android Revolution HD and SkyDragon, several times each, and every time it got stuck on the boot screen. The only way I can fix it is restoring to the stock ROM.
As part of my troubleshooting process today, I went from S-ON to S-OFF and changed my CID. Still, nothing worked.
I also tried to update my recovery to a newer version of TWRP and broke it for a while. Mysteriously, when I tried to install CWM from the Play app, it ended up restoring my old version of TWRP.
I downloaded an older (pre-Lollipop) version of Android Revolution and tried to install that to get back to what I was used to, but that was unsuccessful as well.
Can someone please walk me through this process?

I used this thread that you linked previously: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/general/att-4-4-4-firmware-signed-encrypted-t3031703

I don't recall the error on the stripped down one, but I can mess with it again later today.
Do you have any other links for the firmware?
So if I need to install 4.44 before changing ROMs, do I also need to install 5.0 separately?

Idk of hand if there is lollipop firmware for Att as I'm not a Att user just helping out. So either try an flash a device compatible ROM an see what happens or see if there is L firmware but it should work on 4.4.4 firmware. Should that is. What twrp version r you using? I would fastboot flash the latest one for your device.
I've successfully updated to SkyDragon v37 (5.0)!
I guess the missing piece of the puzzle was just that 4.4 upgrade, immediately followed by a ROM update prior to reboot.
Thanks so much.

Hello guys,
I am currently on LOS and planning to go back to stock ROM.
LOS was flashed over the downgraded firmware necessary to unlock the bootloader.
Would it be advisable to flash the latest stock over it or should I rather go back to the downgraded ROM and upgrade it through OTAs? Are there any partitions flashed through OTA that would be otherwise missed by TWRP?
Also, can anyone recommend a debloated, optimized Android 8 ROM for this phone?
Thank you for your time!

There are TWRP flashable zips you can use.
See the H930 KDZ thread for instructions on how to flash them.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/development/h930-lg-v30-european-market-h930-t3779076
Be sure to use the stable TWRP linked in the WTF thread, not the new beta experimental TWRP listed elsewhere.

Quick question please, are the ROMs in your thread upgradable through ota should LG release one?
I noticed you mentioned after each build that they're not meant to be upgraded.
I may have a case of the stupids here but does it mean that once you flash one of them you're stuck on that version?
PS thanks a lot for taking the time to answer these questions. I appreciate your help a lot ^^
