Ive seen it done on other android devices, So why not on a Atrix?
On which other devices did you saw the Sense?
The sense is a close code project of HTC, and can not realy be installed successfuly on non-HTC devices.
You can use themed launchers that has the looks and sometimes the widgets of the sense, as showed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1053409&highlight=sense
but actually install Sense on devices that dont come with sense in the first place is not really possible (to be more accurate, it is even quite complicate to put sense on devices that do come with lower versions of sense or sensed android....).
wow, i searched "HTC sense" in this forum and the FIRST result (other than your topic) was:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1053409
SEARCH.
Not to stick up for the OP but he is talking about actually potting sense to atrix. Your post above is about a mock sense using different launchers and themes

you can't port sense UI to this phone. the only relevant solution is what i linked to.
Here is a Sense rom for the Nexus One:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995445
I have the official sense launcher, for dext, getting home ill try it on the atrix
The Sense framework is deeply embedded. I see that there may be a Nexus port but that's a developer phone with tons of active devs. We haven't even achieved an unlocked bootloader so Sense is as far out of reach as it comes.
If you're looking for Sense your best bet is to get an HTC device that supports it natively. rmk40 has a Sensation now and is super pumped to start developing for it. He always develops extremely clean, fast and highly optimized ROMS with relative tweak and minimal bloat. I'm positive that once the Sensation bootloader is unlocked he'll be pumping out the good stuff. I can't wait!

I know. I'm just being the bearer of bad news and putting it into painful perspective though... lol
I know there are some tweaks and similar apps out there but it just doesn't compare. People ***** and moan about Sense being slow and bloated, but rmk40's ROMs are absolutely beautiful. Now that we have a lot more tweaks for our Atrix devices I'm still really pleased, but I still desire the HTC Sense experience again. I freeze lots of apps but things like the Social Dialer and other widgets are just too beautiful to pass up.

Yes but tour link noy only didnt answer what the op was asking. Your attitude didn't help with an inccorrect post. All you had to do was explain that sense is closed and propriotery and very difficult to port to an open phone let alone a locked down one like the atrix

HTC made the hardware, architecture, put together the components, etc. It's basically an HTC Desire, or rather, the Desire is an upgraded N1.

I am not an expert, but this is what I have pieced together. I know this is rather long but this will roughly explain Kernels, S-Off, and why Development is lacking.
Here is the way I see community android development. There are themers, Rom chefs, kernel builders, and coders. Themers make most of the visual changes. Rom chefs take a little of everyones efforts and actually puts the Roms together. Kernel builders make the custom kernels for sense, aosp, and miui. The coders are the ones who really understand the code and make the complicated things work (S-off/Root Access/Incomplete drivers/new bootloaders/things like that). Now really everyone works together and there is some crossover in people's abilities but a community really needs all of these in order to fully develop.
Kernels/Drivers:
Think of it this way, the hardware talks to the drivers/kernel and the drivers/kernel talks to the Os. The drivers/kernels are like the translator between two different languages. The problem is that our current kernel made by Htc only knows how to translate from our hardware to Sense. We have to make custom kernels that can translate from our hardware to Aosp Gb, Aosp Ics, or Miui.
The problem:
Faux is extremely talented but here is what he has stated as the problem in making these custom kernels:
Amaze WiFi driver is a modified TI WiFi driver. The major problem is we don't know what HTC did to the WiFi driver for the Amaze.
Click to collapse
Now I have talked to Htc and they said that they won't be releasing the full source code that includes the wifi drivers because of proprietary issues. My guess is that TI is the company that owns the original drivers and they don't want them released. Faux:
TI drivers are designed to work with OMAP Chipsets not Qualcomm chipsets, so HTC had to do some major hacks to make it work with Qualcomm chipset. It is NOT IMPOSSIBLE to reverse engineer what HTC did, it's very time consuming and tedious.

The Solution
I don't have a solution but that is what this thread is for. We need to brainstorm ideas to make this happen.
Here is a link to Htc Dev if you would like to bug them about it (though I'm not sure this would help)
http://htcdev.com/contact
The other solution is to focus on Coders that can reverse engineer the Wifi drivers. We don't need S-OFF yet! S-Off simply allows users to flash things like a kernel and radio directly to the phone through recovery. THAT IS ALL! It will not help bring Aosp faster! Here is Faux's opinion:
IMHO, S-Off at this stage does very little if at all at this moment. Having a working WiFi source is far more important and will increase development for Amaze than S-Off... S-On is just a minor annoyance...
Click to collapse
I hope that this helps to clear up why development is so slow. We don't have anyone that wants to jump in and build the Wifi drivers so that Faux and Xboarder can make the Kernels for the Aosp Roms to run upon. Xboarder is still at work hacking and slashing at the code to get it working but I think we need someone with years of experience and knowledge to join the efforts. Xboarder is extremely talented but he isn't a code guru yet. Go to the forums of previous phones you have had and look around for people who have re engineered Lib files and phone drivers. Talk to some of the other Kernel builders to see if they are interested in building the driver. This is where we need to focus effort and money in order to stimulate development.
Wifi Driver
From Squish099:
@htcdev Amaze 4G needs missing wifi driver from /platform//hardware/ti/wlan/wl1283 and /wl1283_softAP. Both are missing from Amaze source.
Found it in an old tweet faux sent to htc just after thanksgiving.

HTC really messed up, and they call them self dev friendly,
same people that has got s-off on the sensation had tried to do for the amaze but they backed off,
but as you made a point s-off isnt really the problem here, the problem seems to be the drivers that htc wont realease
really the only person we have working hard on this device is Xboarder and binary100100 is doing what he can.
and he has done a really good job, and noobs had got on his nerves. We can not afford to lose him.
i really wish this phone have more developers working on getting things right, like that saying says two brains is better than one
i really love my phone but in the other hand i love roms. and as this phone its not a worldwide phone like the sensation i can understand the lack of developers
as you all know that the sensation have 40+ roms, themes, radios, kernerls, tweaks
sometimes i regret of getting rid of it, but specks says this is a better one,
had you guys ever though about asking for help on the android development forum? we might get lucky and find somebody that is willing to help.
but anyways thank you for saying it like it is and get us understand more of the situation, and me as i think all of you, would do anything to help..
I'm no dev, but i have done something
I HAVE PMED TWO KERNEL DEVELOPERS , TO LOOK INTO THIS THREAD TO GIVE A GLANCE , IF THEY CAN GIVE ANY INPUT ABOUT IT..
If there is any reply from them , i'll let the community know..
I think this is one of the important thread, we should probably have it in Development section and should be made sticky.

Well, if you want root, then I recommend you flash a custom Rom, when I had stock I was never able to get root, and if you get a Rom you'll get better performance anyway
Amaze 4G ENERGY ICS
Use the Amaze all in one toolkit and re-unlock your bootloader, and use it to flash a custom recovery (it only includes TWRP, which works fine), then use the recovery to flash the Superuser.zip, which you can find all over the place. Sorry for no links, I usually just stumble upon them all.

Lol man don't take it personal... I love ya guys that are here doing something. I've tried most ROMs out there. I really liked a couple, but it always comes to this.
I run stock rooted sense. I kill the cap key lights, installed a new launcher (apex pro of course), I debloated, I installed custom splash screen, boot animation, and down animation. Juice defender handles my battery. I've got adw ics theme installed just for aosp icons for homescreen. All I have left, is to get working aosp apps to replace my system sense apps.
What don't I have that a custom sense rom has?
And for the record, I tried miui on my mt4g (cuz mrmako777 swears by it, and he's a cool dude) and I hated it. Reminded me of iOS. I just mentioned because its an alternate OS that a lot of people like. But I LOVE cyanogenmod... And we won't get that w/o proper driver code being released.

I know exactly what you are going through haha except for me I have to learn T mobile stuff for my girl, luckly she loves HTC since I told her to throw away her Iphone haha.
The only issue with Newt's is that wimax and 3d do not work. Might I recommend one of the two Roms in my signature. Mean ics is close to stock with a lot of improvements while zr3dx is an awesome themed Rom. I think she'll be happy with either.

There are no sense 4.0 roms that are fully functional that I'm aware of.

The only issue with Newt's is that wimax and 3d do not work. Might I recommend one of the two Roms in my signature. Mean ics is close to stock with a lot of improvements while zr3dx is an awesome themed Rom. I think she'll be happy with either.

I would agree with others. I have been experimenting between the mean rom and the zr3dx rom. Right now the battery life appears to be a bit better.
The one thing I can recommend is I have changed over to the twrp recovery. The touch screen options make it just so easy compared to using the volume buttons.
Good luck, and if you are unsure, do your research and ask questions. Much easier to deal with us than her if you brick her device!
guys the development is going pretty pretty slow ...I wish that someone works soon on building a custom recovery( I prefer Twrp) and mainly a full sense 4.5 Rom(ported for the One X already) for my DX.
Anybody working on this already?
if i can get my hands on a Desire X things will speed up so much....im still looking for one that i can afford right now lol
Language
Hi!
im looking for hungarian language to my Desire x! Pleas help for me! Thanks
The Desire X community is still growing. We'll have to wait for more developers to buy this awesome phone!
still no custom roms yet
Everyday i am looking, if somebody made a custom rom for our HTC Desire X  Go go go

Our closest bet is for Loir to get his hand on this device...till then we can wait for him to release the cm9 rom and meanwhile who know maybe some other dev's will join this forum.
Meantime, I'm having fun trying to make my own cwm recoveries and rom kitchen roms lol .. hell of a lot more fun then my previous iPhone :good:
Well the main thing i want is a full sense ROM or a full sense 4.5 ROM

I hope. My previous phone was HTC Desire, amazing device, flashed over 100x times and still stable like rock i hope Desire X will continue with the same way..i am waiting for sense 4.1 rom which will be lighter ten original one :/ it consumes a lot of ram :/
just want someone to port a full sense 4.5 rom hope someone is already working on it.
I'd like a CyanogenMod, preferably 10
It seems like everyone is waiting for a dev who knows how to port a rom..
i'm going to run a couple of builds tonight.....stay tuned

Me too, man, if he pulls this off without actually having the phone .. :highfive:
A very good friend of mine has got this device and I feel sorry for him he is still on this crappy stock rom. And for you guys of course :silly:
So I tried to get help from some devs via twitter, I hope they respond.
Since no good dev will ever get a DX imo I guess luring them to here is top priority.
You guys shoud try the same otherwise It will take forever until you're on AOSP or decent Sense.
No offence Lloir and others who try Off course :good:

Stock rom is not crappy i must say..it's pretty smooth as it is ,it's just that it lacks any costumization....my main reason to get android.I come from LG p500 forum which has an awesome community. But who knows what the future holds.
