Well hello guys,
Being used to the flexibility of HTC ADB and fastboot commands for installing kernels i did something very stupid.
I just rooted, and tried to install XtreStoLite Pure Edition 1.0 on my Edge model SM-G925F. It would not work. So I thought it was the wrong Bootloader/Modem version.
Next thing I flashed the 2 files trough ODIN
Bootloader: XXU1AOE3
Modem: XXU1AOE3
Of course this Rom is not yet ready for the Edge model. Now I have a problem. The Phone keeps rebooting right after the boot logo. I already got some help and flashed the stock Firmware from Sammobile. The phone boots, goes to the samsung logo. The samsung Sound and then it reboots again.
Anyone has any idea?
Have you tried turning it off and on again? :grin
Kidding aside, go to recovery and wipe data and cache.

You need to flash an Edge kernel after you flashed the Rom, otherwise it won't work, since the both phones can't share the same kernel build

are you sure your new rom bootloader is higher than the old one?
Is your model no. correct?
i think you flashed wrong rom.
Find the correct rom for your device (if you don't remeber Old Build no., just find the latest rom)
flash to your device . (if it is Ok, you can go to recovery mode.)
In recovery mode , wipe & reset your cache, data.
Agree. Reflash the correct official ROM that includes the boot loader . .. If you can. My experience with latest official ROM has a Blind Download Mode (black screen) on the GT-i9200. Might be the same on the i9205.

So as the last resort go to download mode and reflash stock ROM. Be sure you flash your actual version of Android because you can not downgrade once you upgrade to 4.4.

Let's try, it costs nothing. The differences between regional versions of firmware are mainly in radio part - after flashing firmware from very different region unit should stand up normally, only then could be problem with data exchange or making calls. The rest should be normal.
It is hard to determine which version of firmware you have actually on your unit. Problem lays in bootloader - with upgrade to 4.4 the bootloader is changing to new one and there is no way back. So if you try to flash 4.2 after upgrade to 4.4 you can soft brick your phone.
IMHO safest way for you is to find and flash newest 4.4 firmware for your region. If there will be problems after flashing try to make factory reset from recovery. Best luck.

I've same issue with Galaxy MEGA Plus GT-I9152P. Please advice !
Have searched through the posts but could not find a solution.
Flashed 5.1.1 stock firmware via odin couple of times. Even changed Odin from version 3.10.6 to 3.10.7. Still stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge powered by android screen. Have tried the recovery mode reset and wipe cache but to no avail.
Flashing via Odin was successful, then it reboots and the blue screen comes on "Erasing....." I don't think the Erasing thing gets completed and it reboots to the boot screen and stays there.
At the moment downloading the 5.0.2 firmware. Any help would be appreciated.
Seems downgrading is not a possibility. Have flashed the 5.1.1 firmware. Still stuck at boot. The reboot after flashing shows the blue scree and a task bar slowly filling up, then the "Erasing..." part starts and reboots and stays at the Galaxy S6 edge screen. Seems the Reactivation is on, and there's a "dm-verity verification failed...." on the bottom of the recovery.
Could be a corrupted download. Try downloading the 5.1.1 firmware again.

on the same boat.
its just my 3 rd day got the phone.
let me know if you have any luck.
bought the phone this Wednesday from JB HIFI, Sydney, Australia, 64GB, on the first day i update the phone to the latest stock rom 5.1.1 which is LMY47X.G925IDVU2DOI2.
Firstly, i installed TWRP and rooted the s6 successfully using TWRP Recovery 2.8.7.1 and Root for G925F Android 5.1.1 (unofficial).
Then I was trying to install custom rom. but i format the data in TWRP without backup anything, like efs.
1.Flashed the stock rom (G925IDVU2DOI2_G925IXSA2DOI2_XSA.zip) from sammobile.com odin with no errors. (I downloaded twice from different sources)
after, reboot. it shows cant find /cache and /system.
It shows dm-verity verification failed.
and then shows the stock recovery mode
then i use odin and flashed the TWRP from the above post, and it shows internal storage 0MB.
Checked Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge PAC Firmware/PIT File Collection
The pac and pit file is not released yet.
Adb & Fastboot not working, it cant detect the device.
Smart switch didnt work, shows unsupported device.
is it the partition messed up?

Hey guys,
So I tried to root my S6 Edge and it got stuck on startup, I tried flashing back to the stock ROM, for the SMG-925F, which is the phone I have. Odin fails when flashing the rom. On my phone it says SW REV. CHECK FAIL. DEVICE: , BINARY: 2.
I would really appreciate help as I just got this phone and it is quite frustrating.
Thanks for all the great work you guys do.
Do you have a custom recovery installed?
If so, upload zipped ROM via USB (MTP or USB host) boot to recovery, flash a 5.0.1 ROM from there, flash supersu afterwards and reboot system.
If no custom recovery , you can still try Samsung KIES software and use emergency recovery,
Hey. I have fixed my issue. I extracted my stock rom to a folder, deleted hidden.img/cm.bin/modem.bin and it let me use it. Can anyone explain why this worked? Thanks

The reason you probalby got stuck in starting screen is because you did not unlock the bootloader from developer setting which will cause it not to boot. But for the second part I don't know why odin does this; it seems like extracting the package let's you install the things that are actually needed.

Help! So I rooted my Galaxy s5 using CF-auto-root and SuperSU and I flashed what I thought was CWM recovery from XDA, I installed mod manager which I then gave access to boot to recovery and now my phone is stuck in a custom recovery bootloop. Only if I remove the battery as it's about to turn off can I access download mode by holding relevant buttons but I am concerned that I have bricked my phone because there seems to be no stock recovery any more. Also mod manager listed TWRP as installed as well as CWM. Any help as to what I can flash through download mode or change files on my computer to help this problem would be appreciated. Extra Details:
Model Number: SM-G900F
Android Version: 6.0.1

flash the stock firmware from sammobile.com/firmwares via odim, it packs the stock recovery also
You will have to flash the full stock firmware and start all over from scratch. Also don't waste your time with CWM. It is outdated and has not been updated in years.

Thanks for that point about CWM - no wonder it's caused problems. If I can't fix the problem I was considering buying a new phone anyway hence me rooting my phone and flashing ROMs but I'll flash the full firmware from Samsung's website.

Think that was given is not Samsung site. It is by someone else and we don't advise it's use.
It won't be hard to fix it but understand it will completely wipe your device.

I did make a copy of all my android files before rooting and took pictures etc off it. Ah, I see. Well even if it's the correct firmware I'd rather at least try that - any working phone is better than one with files stuck in a faulty recovery boot-loop.

Okay so installing the firmware worked AND it DIDN'T wipe my device, I've yet to check whether the device is still rooted - it probably isn't. Any advice as to the best custom recovery out there for my international s5?
Edit: SuperSU says my device is no longer rooted, I guess it's okay to flash CF-Auto-Root again?
Edit: I flashed the auto-root again and it's rooted, I just need to be more careful with an updated custom recovery.
I tried to root my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, installed TWRP & tried to install SuperSU 2.79 and it got stuck on creating image, so I rebooted my phone and it didn't boot.
At this point i could only access TWRP and Donwload mode, I got worried and decided to flash stock recovery via ODIN but I think i forgot to uncheck auto-reboot box (Don't know if this step could cause the problem but I think they are related), and I know it's trying to open recovery mode because when I flash TWRP again, some red letters appear on the top-left corner of the screen, same as when I opened TWRP custom recovery, so at the moment I can only open Download mode.
The things I've tried:
ADB reboot recovery: It won't recognise the device anymore
Flash Stock Firmware/Recovery: After sboot.bin it fails (I have the Firmware for my specific model and region)
Also, I'm new to the forums stuff so forgive me if I do something wrong
I hope someone could help me,as I've searched all over the internet and found close to nothing about this thread

Flash stock firmware it will work.
The reason it fails at sboot.bin is because your flashing a firmware with an older bootloader than you currently have.
Flash a newer/newest firmware and it will work.
