[Q] Sounds Mods or Apps for ATT G850A - Samsung Galaxy Alpha

Hello all,
Are there any type of sound modifications or apps for the ATT variant of the Galaxy alpha that does not require root?? Speaker volume is decent, its the bluetooth and headset volume that are really low.
I've tried volume+ and other apps on the play store but they are equalizers more than a "Mod"
I realize that this may be difficult request because of not root but any advice is appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply, but if didn't know, the att variant of the alpha has a Locked Bootloader and no root has been achieved yet.

Call Recording

Has anyone who already purchased the Verizon Galaxy Note 2 been able to confirm if 2way in-call recording works across mic/speaker, speakerphone, and/or bluetooth headset?
Is additional software required, i.e., CallRecorder, Total Recall, etc.?
Thanks.
I can't say for sure if it works without root but I just rooted mine and installed call recorder the called voicemail and it picked up both sides.
I'm downloading root now.
Did you test the call recorder with a blue tooth headset and were you able to hear both sides?

Just tried bluetooth and only got incoming. Might be able to get it working if you play with the settings though.

I tried both CallRecorder and TotalRecall Note edition, i could not get the settings to work with Bluetooth.
Any suggestions?
Much appreciated.
Thx.
I'm new to Samsung devices (been on HTC devices for the last 3 phones), so might this work on our phones?
http://www.jayceooi.com/2012/11/07/how-to-enable-call-recording-on-samsung-galaxy-note-2/
We can't yet do the install of the update.zip via CWM since we do not have CWM yet, but could we do the "manually replace packed apk files to system/app folder" process to enable call recording?
Thx.

it looks like the update enables a native samsung record button in the dialer.
has anyone tried to install this yet?

Will someone who is rooted please try call recorder app by skvalex. From the play store. You will also need to download Alsa app by skvalex as the Samsung exynos processors require the use of the Alsa app in conjunction with the call recorder app. Hoping blue tooth call right cording works once Alsa is installed. You have to go into settings in call recorder and then go to advanced experimental features to download and activate Alsa app.
Thanks in advance.

I just tried it and using Alsa it wouldn't even make a recording file from the handset so I switched back to "Standard android API" and it's working again but still no go from bluetooth.

Well this sucks ballz.
i'm afraid we're going to need a custom kernel to get call recorder app working. if you look at the original note (both at&t and international) forums, you'll see that the exynos processeors route the call audio completely differently (the kernel controls). VS. Qualcomm chipsets which route directly from audio source to the DSP chip inside the phone....
long story short....we're going to need some kernels for each gnote 2 (i.e. sprint, verizon, at&t, tmobile)....frankly, I"m a verizon customer, so hopefully some of our talented rom / kernel chefs will take a note of this thread and build a kernel that works.....
the waiting begins.....fingers crossed....

Exactly.... This is why I'm still on the s3 as well. It works right out of the box with call recorder by skvakex.
If you root however, it will stop working. Choose other in the phone type. And android app for the sound input. Also aac for the file type.
any updates on kernel development?
BTW ---- I just bought an LG Spectrum 2 (LG VS930).....awesome phone! Screen is gorgeous and best of all......drum roll...
call recording works out of the box, no rooting or other tweaks needed.....call recorder app by skvalex....
bluetooth call recording works as well!!! both sides perfectly clear....just an FYI.....still hoping the Gnote 2 gets some kernels and roms soon that support this as well.

You could use the Closed Framework and the Call Recorder plugin for it, its supposed to work quite well.

Boost headset volume-LG Optimus L9 (P769)

Hey everybody,
I recently flashed the zip file from PureAudio, and my music sounds AWESOME!!! Very crisp quality. The only downside is that the headset volume isn't as loud as I'd like it to be. So I was wondering, for you P769 users out there, have you found an app or mod that successfully boosts your headset volume? I've tried like about 10 apps already from the app store, with no noticeable effect Thanks!
Try PowerAmp or Viper4Android or both

You can try any app but it will not be able to boost or gain headset or device volume until it has to be supported by your kernel.
Boosting or gaining volume on device can be done through kernel which supports it, Then you can use app like trickstermod https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bigeyes0x0.trickstermod or you can also use terminal to increase your headset volume. but only with supported kernel...
IMP: Changing or modifying your kernel settings can be harmful for your device until you have some knowledge of what you are doing, So please do that on your own risk...No one is responsible for any damage to your device...
IMO L9 has enough volume, For better audio quality you can use any audio effects, Viper4android http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223 is my best bet here and most important a good pair of headphones...you will not feel the need for boosting volume... but again this is my personal opinion. you can go as per your needs... hope it helps you..
Thanks for the information! I'll make do with the stock volume, then. Im too fearful of tinkering with the kernel.

What if we use a speaker boost app but install it as a system app, I'm guessing that wouldn't work either?

All ExperiencedKernels supports it, but only for P760/P765 and maybe? P768. HP Boost is easy to port from franco kernel for gnex or from my kernel.

What changes would have to be made? I would like to attempt to apply the mod to a P769 kernel.

[Q] increasing media volume in headphones now we have root??

Hi,
I currently have a Xperia z2 which has a locked bootloader, i was really upset to find out cause of this i was locked in on getting custom roms.
Now with the new root i wanted to see if it was possible to now increase the media volume when i play my music and when ringtones are playing, i know about the likes of music apps like power amp but don't personally find the increase through that app to be great, gets pretty distorty.
So louder music in ear is what i am looking for
Also with a locked bootloader is that it, im never gonna have the option to use a custom rom
As far as I know that requires you to install a custom kernel. And at the moment the only way you can do that is by unlocking your bootloader and flashing the custon kernel. No other work around per say.

In some freaky way I think I've found a massive boost to in ear audio volume without root or any mods at all.
Simply open your music player, play track and turn volume up to max. Now while music is playing open settings, sound, volumes and turn "RINGTONE" up to max even if it already is. Click OK and when the menu closes the volume boost to music is instant and easily noticeable.

While it is always nice to have alternatives, if you have to root just go with ViPER4 Android FX A4. You can boost and improve your sound.

I also tried Volume+ from the play store and it doesn't work well on this rom either. This app Volume booster works great on this rom, wow you can damage you're phone speakers with this app if u don't know what your doing! Awesome I like it!

in order for V4A to work with poweramp just go into poweramp/settings/adio/advanced tweaks and uncheck direct volume control and should work fine
Thanks for the reply. I had already done that though.
Will changing values in this app cause an ota to fail? OTA fails when manually making the edits. And if yes, does the ota then work after using the restore values option?

Running the same rom; lollipop variant, Viper4android and LG Music app. Did you check to see if direct audio control in Poweramp is unchecked? It is in the audio/advanced setting. It should be to run Viper4android. I had Poweramp as my DD on my prior phone. I can not run it yet in lollipop. Check that out and report back. Gary

[Q] Is there Louder music volume mod in headset ?

hi guys , I kinda got used to the old HTC of mine and my sister's Iphone volume when it comes to headset ...
some phones have really high headset volume while the sony and other devices have really low sound when connecting headset , aux and all those things.
I am thinking about rooting my Z2 and I was just wondering if its worth it , if what im looking for is satisfying enough I will root so can any one help here ? thanks
I'm rooted with Viper4Android, not even a third of the total volume and the sound is super loud. One of the best things you can do with rooting IMHO.
