I've got a screen guard but it's wet type, I looked up few videos on youtube regarding how to apply. I wanted to know is it safe to apply wet type guard and what is difference between normal and wet type screen guard?

Best example is to think of InvisibleShield, as most wet type screen protectors are stretchy and elastic-ky. However it's prone to orange peeling/staining, but adheres perfectly without halo (on my end).
Dry is just tape application, traditional plastic screen protectors.

Ok thanks..
Skinomi has wet type guards that aren't prone to orange peeling, adheres perfectly, and have a self healing feature I've never seen before. Didn't try them for my nexus, but I will do in a few days. You've got to watch their videos for applying instructions, because it's a whole different procedure than normal guards

How susceptible is the screen to scratches. Is the thin plastic film covering the display intended as a screen protector or can it safely be removed.

It holds like hell. This film it is not like many, which is not usable after few days. From my site is amazing. Score for LG
I wonder if the screen without the protective film is easy to scratches.

Did you remove the film?
No, I didn't. It perfectly fits and I have not reason for do that. I tried scratch direct display on edge and it seems, that this plastic is hard, but it is possible to scratch it relatively simple. BUT I haven't too much experience with touch displays, and of course - this is not too much expensive phone which should be scratch resistive.
maybe if you have found a perfect replacement for the default screen protector film, try using a scotch tape on the edge, then simply peel it off together with the film protector.
or will it not work? *lol*
I removed original screen protector, and after 1 month of use, even tho i payd attention to the phone i got 2 little scratches in the middle of the screen
Obviously is not a gorilla glass, but simple plastic

i took the protector off and after 2 days is full of scratches, keep it on.
is such a crappy touchscreen, not only quality wise but technology too (multi-touch bug)
It seems like everyone is moving to the glass type screen protectors.
I have not use these before, are they much harder to apply (dust free) than the old PET type? In the PET type, I could peel it off and use a small piece of tape to remove remnant dust.
I'm just afraid that I won't do a good job applying the glass.
They are better, and much easier to apply atleast for me. I ordered nillkin 9h, very good stuff, recomended, front one is glass, back is the usual plastic like. Applied front in like 5seconds pretty much perfectly, and back was pain in the ass, had to remove few times and put it back again because of bubbles. In short, they are good and easy to apply

I just installed my first tempered glass screen protector ever on my Z2. I have to say that it is a lot easier applying than the regular PET ones. I bought one from Mobile Pioneer for 10$ on Amazon and it's fantastic. During the installation there was some lint trapped in between the screen protector and the actual glass, I was able to remove it, and used the adhesive dust remover to remove the lint and reapply the screen protector just fine. It's really easy to install as well, I just set the screen protector on the phone and was able to adjust it's position by moving around. Then you just press firmly onto the middle and make your way to the edges to apply it down. Also the feel of it is just fantastic, PET screen protectors can not compare at all. Go with tempered glass, you won't regret it .
Also one thing, if you have the magnetic dock, it's gonna be a tight fit. I had to switch out the cradle thingy with the secondary one included with the retail dock.
thanks, tempered glass it is then!
Does the tempered glass add that much sickness to the phone?
I bought one but I hesitate to use it as I'm quite satisfied with my already installed PET screen protector.

Anyone try the plastic film type screen protectors since the tempered glass ones seem to all either be too small or halo. Hopefully the film type will give better coverage.
UK Amazon, not sure if it's available in other countries: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M10DJTP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_udp_apa_Is9fybT040DW4
This one is a perfect fit. It kinds shows where you pushed out the air when applying which is a bit less nice. But apart from that great.

I ordered 2 fullbody from xtremeguard with giant92 got 92% off cant go wrong.
I also use skimomi, both wet install.
I have one by "iCarez" since that is the only plastic one could find and actually purchase when I got my phone. It leaves about 2mm uncovered all around the edge, and it is very bad about showing fingerprints.
I'm still waiting for Tech Armor to make one since their screen protectors were excellent on my old phone (with a flat display).
I like the ArmorSuit ones. They are a bit harder to apply, but they are top notch. They have this self healing feature too.
Hi
I have this case :
https://www.spigen.com/products/galaxy-s8-case-crystal-shell
I tried both Samsung original plastic screen protector:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQKnJsETNYQ
And the olixar case friendly glass screen protector.
Both suck. Either the touch is bad either the case lifts it up.
Can anyone recommend me a screen protector that will get a long with my case? or any combination of screen protector and a case that will work together?
No glue / wet apply please. Only conventional stuff
Thanks
From what I have seen the gpel case friendly screen protectors seem to be about the best option.
They come in clear or black edges I hear the clear shows dirt build up around the edges
Do you mean this one
https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Friendly-Tempered-Satisfaction-Guarantee/dp/B06XWMZG5N
Cause it's rating is pretty poor
Whitestone dome?
How badly does it affect the touch?

Not at all... Touchscreen works perfectly. And works with lots of cases https://youtu.be/sScL3ZyGTgI
It only takes some time to install it correctly, you can't rush it and expect great results.
But you better check some install videos, and the topics here on xda. Since this is glued to the screen, not just a strip on the edges, this feels as good as the naked screen and no dust can get beneath
I prefer something without glue/ liquids..
Whats the best dry apply option on the market?
It's wet apply, but I've had no issues with this one besides it taking a little extra time to adhere to the curved edges. it's been perfect on my case (not the same one) and looks good as well. Lifetime warranty too. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072B8MLF3/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hello im Veronica and this is my first post owing this phone and im loving it! i bought a glass protection that come is curve design but it didnt fit well bubbles of air started to appear and i took it off
Have you tried the liquid protection ? i dont know the name of the product but is a liquid you put in the screen and it makes it hard
Please help me what do you use to protect it?
I use the uv Loca glue and glue on the curved tempered glass protectors on mine
Hi veronica. I own now an s8, but my previous phone was a galaxy s7 (the flat one), in which I had a tempered glass protector. But now, with the curved display of miss s8, the tempered glass I've found are not so great. I really don't recommend the liquid protection , that supposed nano tech solution. I've seen it, and its effects are practically none. U can't tell when u you've applied or not.
As the previous post says, the better solution is to take a tempered glass and UV glue between that and the gorilla glass, and dry it in the UV lamp. That way, u get a better protection, but need to try take out the air bubbles that may get in the process before dry.
I'm sorry if my English can't be excellent, because it's not my original language.
Greetings to u.
I also would be interested in mounting a tempered glass screen protector with a liquid adhesive and then drying it with a UV lamp. The end result looks very good, but I wonder if it does affect the screen of the phone. In case that I would like to remove the foil or replace it ... I do not know if the adhesive is "peaceful", if it leaves residual traces or I risk of having to change the touchscreen at the same time with the glass: D
I'd like to buy this: https://bit.ly/2SSQMZT (Aliexpress).
To be honest, the Spigen NeoFlex is the absolute best option in my opinion. I normally do not like these "Self-Healing" type but, it has been amazing, stays on all corners and I can continue to use my very light but very protective Spigen case as well. I normally do not like cases but the one I use is okay, especially since I have already shattered the front and rear of the phone once. Don't want to do it again.
I second this...

I've tried about 6 different tempered glass protectors, and all have either made it very difficult to pull down the top menu, or have gotten dust/lint behind the screen. Went to the Spigen NeoFlex 'film' and never looked back. In fact, I just ordered another set of them because I got polyurethane fingerprints on the screen while doing a wood railing. I had zero problems, it doesn't affect touch sensitivity. I will say that getting the sides to stay took a few minutes of work, but once stuck, it has stayed that way for 8 months so far. I paired it with a Spigen LiquidArmor case. I've dropped the phone onto my ceramic floors several times already and had no damage to the phone. I use wireless charging with no problems.
