SlimRom is a custom android operating system. The main goal is to offer users a slimmed down but still feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and Gerrit.
SlimLP is currently in alpha stage, some settings are already in place, much is still missing and would come with time. Stay tuned!

NO ETA. If bugs would be fixed an easier than to write about them, it is obvious nobody would write about them.

@ChronoMonochrome
I think need to remove link for Chainfire's root because root is included in SlimLP.
And thanks for rom, good job

It has not any preferences for root, though, that's why there's link in OP.

Is this ROM have In-call low volume issue like Omni @ChronoMonochrome ? Do I have to apply your fix for this ROM also ?

Normally you should not need to, as low incall volume fix already applied. However, it would be better if someone who does calls often would confirn or refute it, as I have found some changes in sources that may interfere with fix and not sure if it's working.

Geez...my main thought was: isn't it too alpha to waste YOUR time for it?
I mean - their own page is saying, that rom lacks many functions....
I am fan of slim roms, but...

thank you for your great work chrono, i love slimrom. i try this rom today, and removed some not needed apk from installation zip file, like audio fx, browser etc before flashing, and then no sound at all at my phone? this because i remove audio fx or not? cause when using cm12, whenever i removed audio fx, sound still work properly
UDPATE: i try to clear dalvik & cache, and fix permission through twrp, sound working again
other thing is:
-sim toolkit not displayed in app drawer
-a little bit laggy, etc when open app drawer with apex launcher or switching app
-no performance control yet?

Root options are in developer options, pushing build number repeteadly ?

No need to worry about that - if I spending time on this, then I don't do it for nothing. I build it most for myself - but ofc wanted to share with everyone who are interested in that.

There is no problem with deleting audio fx, maybe try to reflash ROM and delete some things more carefully.

Same problem - I'll investigate into it later.

There's no performance control implemented yet - use nofrills or similar app.

In indeed, there are ONLY enabling/disabling root, without any other preferences.

yes i have done with fix permission and clear dalvik & cache only from twrp
now sound is ok

I don't know if it's just for me or not, but I noticed worse performance of the runtime and math operations on latest builds - all benchmarks has showed the low results I have ever seen(and it's not only for first run). I've uploaded new build - seems that this bug was fixed.
Changelog:
build ROM with Uber toolchain 4.9 and kernel - with Linaro 4.9.3
enabled JustArchi optimizations v4 for lollipop
extreme kernel optimizations based on commit by @ace2nutzer
added RRO layers 2.1 support
First boot might take significantly more time than usual - but it's definetely better than have worse performance.

I suggest to check ROM + Kernel flags to make sure that u don't break IEEE or ISO rules/specifications for math functions
After that u'll notice best Benchmarks results

OP, do you have sound in video recording? Is the camera app stable? Other than that i like the idea of this rom, pure stock AOSP, no mods
@Cocolopes
Yes it's based on SuperNexus and has some of those features, I will list exactly which ones in OP later today but no it won't receive SuperNexus changes.
Edit: OP updated
@Mashed_Potatoes
I haven't tested it yet, I will test shortly and let you know. As far as camera goes, it's been working spot on for me. I don't use any scene modes or whatnot but as for just using it to generally snap a pic of something - it works fine.
Edit: Audio in video is working, I found a bug with video camera though, see Bug List post #3.

I'd try either turning assert on or off in recovery (if possible).
Will sort the problem in next build.
Edit: As this was based on SuperNexus, for the next build, should I base it purely on AOSP or continue using this base?

Frequencies Asked Questions
FAQ
1. Volume too low
Ans. Its on default stock levels, maybe a bit low, and as of now, I have not been able to find a clean way of implementing it. Until then, use Viper4Android, or any other volume boosting MODs you wish. You can ask about them in Q&A General Thread. FIXED
2. Y U NO FIX "Rear Mic"
Ans. I don't want to. Because I don't know how to. Some dev fixed Rear Mic activation, but all other mic and speaker related settings were unoptimized for huashan and people are having Echoes, Low sound, no mic and phantom ghosts on their phone. You've been warned.FIXED
3. Where are PA features? Halo, DPI-settings and ParanoidPreferences?
Ans. You are so behind the curve that I won't bother explaining. Maybe you time-warped into the future.
4. LAGzzzZ, Slow ROM. My granny runs faster than this.
Ans. Install your granny on the phone.
5. XYZ Rom is way better than this.
Ans. Someone has convinced you than I care.
NOTE: Questions and answers are most welcome. But not like above. Give good reports, get better answers. These guidelines specially apply before posting in DEV thread. Feel free to post random things in the General Thread.
Downloads & change-logs
READ THIS FIRST
1. Don't Replace the recoveries in this ROM with any other source. If you delete them by chance, simply reinstall the ROM without wipe or ask in this thread.
2. Don't delete any system app or file for saving space or making it light, the ROM is already bare-bones. I am not supporting any such activity.
3. Full Data wipe and Only-Cache Wipe is your choice. I ALWAYS recommend FULL Wipe. Reason you ask? Because i am constantly changing toolchains and configs. Any data belonging to old system might clash with new things.

And this is what I thought when you added the CM File Manager app - adding more and more apps that will just bloat the ROM, slowly making it like these stock based ROMs with all the apps on earth added. I don't think we should add another app, the volume is normal, lower than stock, but there is no problem with hearing it. And v4a is installable via their site - for example I don't mind spending 2 minutes on downloading and installing the app - so I only have the apps that I want.
Good point. But voice increase should be implemented one way or another. I'll have a look at available options
Need a brave tester
You must have my Build 9 or 10 but WITHOUT any Viper or Alsa or other mods.
Pure Builds.
I have attached modded file
volume increase.zip
And in case bootloop or any error
revert.zip
Nexus, your patch was confirmed not working.
We have two options:
1. Set the volumes via the snd_soc_msm_2x file(like in my older patch, but with removed secondary mic, so no echo/reverbs etc. in calls, just a volume boost for speaker and handset)
2. Don't change anything and let the users use the V4A.
I don't know which way should we choose, because we still don't know how it will work when using the speaker/handset on extended periods of time, so there is a slight risk of damaging the speaker hardware, when it's integrated permanently.

Have you checked how other devices like moto x and nexus4 dealing with low volume in cm11?
They must have a similiar file i think
They
On other devices the devs don't have to deal with low volume problems, because they don't have xLoud on their devices. On Moto X they are using the same file, because it's the same platform, but with different audio subsystem. We are using default volume levels in SP, but people are used to xLoud, which is above the mentioned volume level.
Sorry of this certainly stupid question, but why to have made the even second post concerning this ROM?
Just saying, this rom beats all the other 4.4.4 roms in stability and performance. I used to love Vanir 4.4.2 it blew the rest out of the water, but 4.4.4 seems to be quite a challenge.

This is the thread for unofficial builds of SlimLP, compiled with SaberMOD and UBER Toolchains. I choose SlimROMs as base because they're based on AOSP, and hence do not include unnecessary bloatwares.
SlimROM is a custom android operating system. The main goal is to offer users a slimmed down but still feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam works together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
What's New:
Compiled with a custom toolchain UBER for more performance and better battery life
Compiled with the GCC optimization level -O3
Compiled with strict-aliasing compiler optimization
Added patches to fix GCC strict-aliasing violation rules
Added ARMv7 optimized string handling routines for more smoothness and more memory optimization
Disabled SQLite fsync to increase I/O performance
Cherry-picked some AOSP bug and memory leak fixes
Cherry-picked some KitKat bug and memory leak fixes
What's Working:
RIL(Mobile and Data Network)
Camera
Video Recording
Wi-Fi
Bluetooth
Recovery
ADB
GPS
Proximity Sensor
Automatic Brightness Sensor
External SD Card
Internal SD Card
Video Playback
Physical Buttons
Speaker
Airplane Mode
ART
Bugs/Not Working:
Everything works.
How To Install:
1. Download the ROM and the GApps and place them on your SD Card/Internal Storage.
2. Reboot phone to recovery.
3. Wipe data, cache(factory reset), dalvik/art cache and system.
4. Flash the ROM and the GApps.
5. Flash SuperSU_*version*.zip to gain root access.
6. Reboot System. (First boot takes 5-6 minutes. Be patient.)

Q. What is a toolchain?
In software, a toolchain is the set of programming tools that are used to create a product (typically another computer program or system of programs). The tools may be used in a chain, so that the output of each tool becomes the input for the next, but the term is used widely to refer to any set of linked development tools.
A simple software development toolchain consists of a compiler and linker to transform the source code into an executable program, libraries to provide interfaces to the operating system, and a debugger. A complex product such as a video game needs tools for preparing sound effects, music, textures, 3-dimensional models, and animations, and further tools for combining these resources into the finished product.

Q. What is SaberMOD?
SaberMod is a AOSP based ROM with some extra features added in and mostly from CyanogenMod. SaberMod started out pure AOSP when android 4.2.1 launched. Originally it was pure AOSP with a few extra features I ported over from CyanogeMod and linaro optimizations. Then I rebased everything off of rasbeanjelly because I liked many features found in rasbean. Since then I've modified a lot of the code so not much of it is rasbeanjelly based anymore. But you will still find some commonly used features found in rasbeanjelly. SaberMod is not a rasbeanjelly or CM clone, or KANG. Custom kernels are included for certain devices when available. These are personal builds we make for ourselves and originally became very popular in the nexus 7 forums. Features are very rarely added, and are built to SaberMod's team members liking.
Q. What is Linaro?
Linaro is the place where engineers from the world's leading technology companies define the future of Linux on ARM. The company is a not-for-profit engineering organization with over 120 engineers working on consolidating and optimizing open source software for the ARM architecture, including the GCC toolchain, the Linux kernel, ARM power management, graphics and multimedia interfaces.

Basically, this ROM has some CM based apps and other packages, which in comparison to SlimRom's apps and packages, are better looking(MATERIALIZED).
Nav bar, kernel auditor, etc. options are also there.
I would add some other kernel optimizations, probably in the new build coming up in a couple of days.
Enjoy, and Regards!

Thanks man. I read a post here about memory leak and you told them that it was fixed on 5.1. AFAIK, Lysergic Acid somehow fixed this on his last build of CM12 that's why using the xposed app with memory leak fix was not recommended.

Important note:
Starting from 17.09.2015 build the installer of chrono kernel is decoupled from a ROM installer, so e.g. no support for f2fs or dual boot with a default ROM kernel. In order to have all features of the universal kernel package you need proceed standalone chrono kernel installation.
Conversion EXT4 -> F2FS:
TWRP:
1) back up the system
2) find backup folder and rename system.ext4.win to system.f2fs.win, data.ext4.win -> data.f2fs.win etc.
3) restore backup of selected partitions
4) flash zip from attachment (chrono kernel is supposed to be installed)
CWM/Philz:
1) back up the system
2) format selected partitions to F2FS
3) restore backup of selected partitions
4) flash zip from attachment
Fix to GAPPS(GMS) FC:

Yep Is there anything wrong? Just found some spare time to return to android development.
UPD. while I'm on the treatment, there is almost nothing anything to do for me... Just wanted to bring this ROM up before I go to another city because of treatment.
For f2fs i have to convert first the rom with the script or i can install it as it is?

I caught myself that I haven't tested f2fs with this ROM(of course I've tested f2fs update itself). There installation with f2fs will be a little tricky, because /ramdisk/fstab needs to be changed(it can be updated after reflashing ROM, but this is not the best solution IMO). I will test it and report later.
UPD. Btw, kernel version line messed up a bit, just don't pay attention on this
UPD2. added info about f2fs to 3rd post.
With flufli's script f2fs installation was fine but i had system fc the first time, launcher's fc, camera as you have said and the rom was laggy for me even without installing any other app.
I went back to liquid so that's the only feedback i can provide

Well, updater_script of this ROM is quite different from CM11, and it was never guarantied(AFAIK) that it will work with another ROMs. For me mentioned in 3rd post way is working, and there are no FCing apps(besides of aforementioned camera).
and the rom was laggy for me even without installing any other app.

Note that for first 10 minutes media scanner is running in background, so there's nothing unusual that phone may lag in this time.
Well, after reading janice vanir topic I've found that GAPPS(GPS) FC bug will also appear there. This is related to -O3 optimization applied to binaries which are compiled in thumb mode. I haven't messed with optimizations yet(and Linaro GCC 4.8 is used here), but unfortunately for us, -O3 was already applied. Known fix for lollilop won't work on kitkat - it simply doesn't apply well, actually it can be applied, will try it later.
Then compile with -O2 and apply some non problematic -O3 flags manually

This isn't such simply. AFAIK, anything except -Os being applied to thumb code will fail. It's interesting to force ARM mode to check if it as well fixes issue, but first I'll try out removing forced alighment code. I have too slow internet to upload(or rather - download) new build in near time, when applying just one fix probably can fit in few blobs.
Test fix to GAPPS FC bug. To apply reboot to recovery and copy files to /system/lib(make sure you have backup of original files!). Please test it and report if it's working.

Well done! This works for your CM11 05.05.2015 (Running Google Play services 7.5.74 (1997312-034))
The idea to use other/older libjavacore.so was known but not to change libjavacrypto.so also. Which is obviouly if I think about it once more
As you know me I made an installer zip of this. It is not my work actually - I only changed files, added codina and CM11 checking and added deinstall routine for my old init.d fix.
You can use it also (of course) if the init.d fix was not used...
This will do the following:
Deletes init.d 50gmscache (if installed)
Deletes cache folder of gms (will be build new automaticly)
Makes backup (*.so.bak) of original libs
Copy working libs over the original ones.
Okay, good to know that fix is working. Now I can publish patch which is backport of well known fix for lollipop https://github.com/ChronoMonochrome...mmit/a2d116008d15c3db373ad372ab37548058926bfc .

There is an update(read changelog in 2nd post), but I haven't pushed it because I need to deal with some changes in kernel installer(and in build script, in particular) and make sure that they works properly.
Thank you
:good::good::good:
upd: kernel used with this rom is the best.
I made fatal mistakes by flashing nonrelated chrono's ones.
I was SO WRONG flashing latest one instead of testing included one.
Definitely, kernel used there is really fit for this rom.
Awesome(some tweaks are still needed, but, damn, it is really, really awesome)!
Kernel we have there still can use latest chronokernelsettings(MANY customization are needed to get totally great results, but CKS + perfctrl used together are capable to push a2 to the max, imho).
This is awesome rom.
Small advice - add these to init.d with 755 permission, reboot:

Then you can optimize your system even more with chronokernelsettings + perfctrl(do NOT overwrite init's settings there).
Then - apkopt - list of apk's to being optimized - soon(check fuc.kin dialer gain)...
Then - media.scanner, any wrong id tag may result in batt drain(imagine >500 mp3 files with wrong id tags, then imagine 1500 files with wrong tags on extcard and media.scanner working)...
Yup, it can DRAIN your battery without reason...
F'ed up tags of your music/vid files may break your nice, flatline batt usage, too.
Another story - ex-ter-nal music player/vid player...
And so on, so on...rom itself, or kernel will NOT help you, if you are not aware how andorind is working.
Anyway, good luck....feel free to ask.
But maybe tomorrow, now i am drunk, allright.
Chrono, thank you.
Not enough space on /system
It seems apps that require to write some data on /system (like AdAway or Mount2SD) are not working correctly after f2fs conversion. Error message says "there is not enough space on /system". I wonder if anyone experienced the same or is it just me messing up at a step?

iI have partitioned my /system partition into 800mb, but after installing your rom. My /system partiton size detects into default one (616mb). So i'cant install full Gapps...
How are going works, @Epirex?
How is the Dialer working in this ROM? Because it is horribly slow in hasta's CM12.1.

@Epirex Thanks for your continued support towards this device, I'm sure you are working hard to keep Janice alive, When are we likely to see new build?

Sorry for delay guys, I was hoping to AOSPA Team update to android_5.1.1_r24
I'm build now
@Epirex you had hinted about Marshmallow, are you still developing 6.0 for Janice?
Best lollipop ROM for s advance in my opinion. I was using build 28/09 for few days. Cache/data in f2fs. So smooth and fast. WiFi failed to start for the first time after a reboot but if you turn it on/off once then it works fine. Sadly i had to roll back to CM11 cause of the low incoming call volume bug which was really annoying. I couldn't hear anything outdoors. Is this fixed in the latest build?
PS: Low incoming call volume bug isn't mentioned in the bug list. Anyone else having this bug or it is just me?
