ROM:
initial release
Kernel:
f2fs update (thanks to XperiaSTE team)
various fixes and improvements
reverted previous optimizations(since it messes some things)
Bugs
please report if you'll find them
Misc
Important note:
Starting from 17.09.2015 build the installer of chrono kernel is decoupled from a ROM installer, so e.g. no support for f2fs or dual boot with a default ROM kernel. In order to have all features of the universal kernel package you need proceed standalone chrono kernel installation.
Conversion EXT4 -> F2FS:
TWRP:
1) back up the system
2) find backup folder and rename system.ext4.win to system.f2fs.win, data.ext4.win -> data.f2fs.win etc.
3) restore backup of selected partitions
4) flash zip from attachment (chrono kernel is supposed to be installed)
CWM/Philz:
1) back up the system
2) format selected partitions to F2FS
3) restore backup of selected partitions
4) flash zip from attachment
Fix to GAPPS(GMS) FC:

C'mon, you should recover...re-co-ver, mate.
Btw - f2fs is WRONG, allright?

Yep Is there anything wrong? Just found some spare time to return to android development.
UPD. while I'm on the treatment, there is almost nothing anything to do for me... Just wanted to bring this ROM up before I go to another city because of treatment.
For f2fs i have to convert first the rom with the script or i can install it as it is?

I caught myself that I haven't tested f2fs with this ROM(of course I've tested f2fs update itself). There installation with f2fs will be a little tricky, because /ramdisk/fstab needs to be changed(it can be updated after reflashing ROM, but this is not the best solution IMO). I will test it and report later.
UPD. Btw, kernel version line messed up a bit, just don't pay attention on this
UPD2. added info about f2fs to 3rd post.
With flufli's script f2fs installation was fine but i had system fc the first time, launcher's fc, camera as you have said and the rom was laggy for me even without installing any other app.
I went back to liquid so that's the only feedback i can provide

Well, updater_script of this ROM is quite different from CM11, and it was never guarantied(AFAIK) that it will work with another ROMs. For me mentioned in 3rd post way is working, and there are no FCing apps(besides of aforementioned camera).
and the rom was laggy for me even without installing any other app.

Note that for first 10 minutes media scanner is running in background, so there's nothing unusual that phone may lag in this time.
Well, after reading janice vanir topic I've found that GAPPS(GPS) FC bug will also appear there. This is related to -O3 optimization applied to binaries which are compiled in thumb mode. I haven't messed with optimizations yet(and Linaro GCC 4.8 is used here), but unfortunately for us, -O3 was already applied. Known fix for lollilop won't work on kitkat - it simply doesn't apply well, actually it can be applied, will try it later.
Then compile with -O2 and apply some non problematic -O3 flags manually

This isn't such simply. AFAIK, anything except -Os being applied to thumb code will fail. It's interesting to force ARM mode to check if it as well fixes issue, but first I'll try out removing forced alighment code. I have too slow internet to upload(or rather - download) new build in near time, when applying just one fix probably can fit in few blobs.
Test fix to GAPPS FC bug. To apply reboot to recovery and copy files to /system/lib(make sure you have backup of original files!). Please test it and report if it's working.

Well done! This works for your CM11 05.05.2015 (Running Google Play services 7.5.74 (1997312-034))
The idea to use other/older libjavacore.so was known but not to change libjavacrypto.so also. Which is obviouly if I think about it once more
As you know me I made an installer zip of this. It is not my work actually - I only changed files, added codina and CM11 checking and added deinstall routine for my old init.d fix.
You can use it also (of course) if the init.d fix was not used...
This will do the following:
Deletes init.d 50gmscache (if installed)
Deletes cache folder of gms (will be build new automaticly)
Makes backup (*.so.bak) of original libs
Copy working libs over the original ones.
Okay, good to know that fix is working. Now I can publish patch which is backport of well known fix for lollipop https://github.com/ChronoMonochrome...mmit/a2d116008d15c3db373ad372ab37548058926bfc .
Good work, Chrono
I saw that in rom preinstalled r3 kernel
Is there an update already or it special version for Vanir?

There is an update(read changelog in 2nd post), but I haven't pushed it because I need to deal with some changes in kernel installer(and in build script, in particular) and make sure that they works properly.
Thank you
:good::good::good:
upd: kernel used with this rom is the best.
I made fatal mistakes by flashing nonrelated chrono's ones.
I was SO WRONG flashing latest one instead of testing included one.
Definitely, kernel used there is really fit for this rom.
Awesome(some tweaks are still needed, but, damn, it is really, really awesome)!
Kernel we have there still can use latest chronokernelsettings(MANY customization are needed to get totally great results, but CKS + perfctrl used together are capable to push a2 to the max, imho).
This is awesome rom.
Small advice - add these to init.d with 755 permission, reboot:
http://speedy.sh/FVaw2/init.d.7z
Then you can optimize your system even more with chronokernelsettings + perfctrl(do NOT overwrite init's settings there).
Then - apkopt - list of apk's to being optimized - soon(check fuc.kin dialer gain)...
Then - media.scanner, any wrong id tag may result in batt drain(imagine >500 mp3 files with wrong id tags, then imagine 1500 files with wrong tags on extcard and media.scanner working)...
Yup, it can DRAIN your battery without reason...
F'ed up tags of your music/vid files may break your nice, flatline batt usage, too.
Another story - ex-ter-nal music player/vid player...
And so on, so on...rom itself, or kernel will NOT help you, if you are not aware how andorind is working.
Anyway, good luck....feel free to ask.
But maybe tomorrow, now i am drunk, allright.
Chrono, thank you.
Not enough space on /system
It seems apps that require to write some data on /system (like AdAway or Mount2SD) are not working correctly after f2fs conversion. Error message says "there is not enough space on /system". I wonder if anyone experienced the same or is it just me messing up at a step?

Q. What is a toolchain?
In software, a toolchain is the set of programming tools that are used to create a product (typically another computer program or system of programs). The tools may be used in a chain, so that the output of each tool becomes the input for the next, but the term is used widely to refer to any set of linked development tools.
A simple software development toolchain consists of a compiler and linker to transform the source code into an executable program, libraries to provide interfaces to the operating system, and a debugger. A complex product such as a video game needs tools for preparing sound effects, music, textures, 3-dimensional models, and animations, and further tools for combining these resources into the finished product.

Q. What is SaberMOD?
SaberMod is a AOSP based ROM with some extra features added in and mostly from CyanogenMod. SaberMod started out pure AOSP when android 4.2.1 launched. Originally it was pure AOSP with a few extra features I ported over from CyanogeMod and linaro optimizations. Then I rebased everything off of rasbeanjelly because I liked many features found in rasbean. Since then I've modified a lot of the code so not much of it is rasbeanjelly based anymore. But you will still find some commonly used features found in rasbeanjelly. SaberMod is not a rasbeanjelly or CM clone, or KANG. Custom kernels are included for certain devices when available. These are personal builds we make for ourselves and originally became very popular in the nexus 7 forums. Features are very rarely added, and are built to SaberMod's team members liking.
Q. What is Linaro?
Linaro is the place where engineers from the world's leading technology companies define the future of Linux on ARM. The company is a not-for-profit engineering organization with over 120 engineers working on consolidating and optimizing open source software for the ARM architecture, including the GCC toolchain, the Linux kernel, ARM power management, graphics and multimedia interfaces.

Basically, this ROM has some CM based apps and other packages, which in comparison to SlimRom's apps and packages, are better looking(MATERIALIZED).
Nav bar, kernel auditor, etc. options are also there.
I would add some other kernel optimizations, probably in the new build coming up in a couple of days.
Enjoy, and Regards!

Thanks man. I read a post here about memory leak and you told them that it was fixed on 5.1. AFAIK, Lysergic Acid somehow fixed this on his last build of CM12 that's why using the xposed app with memory leak fix was not recommended.

I think need to remove link for Chainfire's root because root is included in SlimLP.
And thanks for rom, good job

It has not any preferences for root, though, that's why there's link in OP.
Is this ROM have In-call low volume issue like Omni @ChronoMonochrome ? Do I have to apply your fix for this ROM also ?

Normally you should not need to, as low incall volume fix already applied. However, it would be better if someone who does calls often would confirn or refute it, as I have found some changes in sources that may interfere with fix and not sure if it's working.

Geez...my main thought was: isn't it too alpha to waste YOUR time for it?
I mean - their own page is saying, that rom lacks many functions....
I am fan of slim roms, but...
thank you for your great work chrono, i love slimrom. i try this rom today, and removed some not needed apk from installation zip file, like audio fx, browser etc before flashing, and then no sound at all at my phone? this because i remove audio fx or not? cause when using cm12, whenever i removed audio fx, sound still work properly
UDPATE: i try to clear dalvik & cache, and fix permission through twrp, sound working again
other thing is:
-sim toolkit not displayed in app drawer
-a little bit laggy, etc when open app drawer with apex launcher or switching app
-no performance control yet?
Root options are in developer options, pushing build number repeteadly ?

No need to worry about that - if I spending time on this, then I don't do it for nothing. I build it most for myself - but ofc wanted to share with everyone who are interested in that.

There is no problem with deleting audio fx, maybe try to reflash ROM and delete some things more carefully.

yes i have done with fix permission and clear dalvik & cache only from twrp
now sound is ok
I don't know if it's just for me or not, but I noticed worse performance of the runtime and math operations on latest builds - all benchmarks has showed the low results I have ever seen(and it's not only for first run). I've uploaded new build - seems that this bug was fixed.
Changelog:
build ROM with Uber toolchain 4.9 and kernel - with Linaro 4.9.3
enabled JustArchi optimizations v4 for lollipop
extreme kernel optimizations based on commit by @ace2nutzer
added RRO layers 2.1 support
First boot might take significantly more time than usual - but it's definetely better than have worse performance.

I suggest to check ROM + Kernel flags to make sure that u don't break IEEE or ISO rules/specifications for math functions
After that u'll notice best Benchmarks results

Well i had issue's and was really pissed off but now that i know that it was a mistake by you and you're even acknowledging it,there's no problem at all,in fact nice work making it official and i already have a lot of ROM's to update anyway,i even wanted for someone to do it,I hadn't updated tipsy after it's initial release due to focussing on other ROM's,i was just upset that you didn't ask knowing that i already had it done before. But no problem now and again Nice work done. :good:
BTW tip for next time, know all the ROM's for our device before you start to work on it.

Well most of the custom ROMs have this, it will not be an issue unless you want to use 4g on second sim, shift to Sim1 otherwise.
For other parts, you can flash it as daily driver and no major issues.
Report I will add to the post. Thanks.
@premaca I have just flashed latest build I experienced random reboots during initial setup and then at startup. For now it looks stable.
Yas sensor doesn't get detected,on aosp caf thread it is being reported that ubertc toolchain up and above 4.8 creates problem for detection of yas sensor.
I'm using 2014818 redmi 2 prime,2gb ram variant.
Is there an update for Tesla
@premaca I think there is something wrong with the latest kumajaya source's,the phone reboots when there is an incoming call, happened in my AICP rom too,can you confirm this on TIPSY,if that is the case then i'll be sure it has something to do with the kumajaya's source's.

Oo. Okay. Do not use the Icons on the Nova Launcher, they come default with the launcher and do not point to the actual implemented apps. Replace those icons with the actual ones in the drawer.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

How to install:
For install need TWRP 3.0.2, it included in CM13 By SergeyL by default
1. Download and install the latest CM13
2. Download CM14
3. Copy the zip in the external memory card
4. Boot in TWRP recovery
5. Wipe Data / Factory Reset" - "Wipe cache" - "Wipe Dalvik"
5. Choose "Install Zip from external storage"
6. Select and install CM14 file
9. Reboot
10. Done. First boot will be over 30 min, if it will not start after this - reboot

2016.11.29
2016.12.06
Cleaned Gapps
Note: CM14.1 and Gapps can't be installed on standart System partition. Need at least 750mb.
Memory Swap
Now we have something like "memory swap"
Sdcard1 will forcibly be used by system for apps, images, etc.
Same like Sdcard0. But in File manager it'll look like Sdcard1
When you connect to PC, only Sdcard0 will be available (but actually it's Sdcard1)
To get "swap memories", first download THIS
Then open ROM file on your PC and replace its boot.img with new boot.img you have just downloaded
Finally, install ROM
Due to Ramdisk changes, don't install Chorno Kernel, 'cause all changes will be deleted

@SergeyL, not sure the reason you push the device limit, or the hardware driver isn't available which make it slow
It's just too low ram, latest CM Version needs more ram, we only can workaround this by optimizing ram-management and enabling some swap such as zRam.
Good Work!! :good: , i'll be waiting for the next version
Why don't you fix

I'm not contributing to CM14 for now. - Just wanted to tell u that it's not needed to report known Bugs, as it's really annoying for us developers. - Thanks.
this too early version to try, i don't hope too much that our devices will get faster enough with this rom
Added version from 2016.10.28
Hello,
I really did not expect nougat for our device, but seems like we have 1 more year to stay updated Thanks @SergeyL @ChronoMonochrome (thanks for screenshots) @[-GuTi-]
maybe we can have a hope that this rom will be just as stable as currently CM 13 is? Or it is just going to be more and more complicated and will be left just as an Alpha build? Thanks for working for latest builds!
Though I am going to be one of these going to upgrade my device sorry :/ As I have ordered OnePlus 3, I just could not resist to it for the design/specs/performance/price combo. Though still gonna follow these threads, just to test how latest possible software works for that ace 2 And this galaxy Ace 2 was the first smartphone i ever had, so it was a hard choice for me to choose which smartphone to buy, but i am glad i bought galaxy ace 2, and not a random unpopular smartphone where even rooting is not possible. Thx guys.
Is there any way to unpack the boot.img of this rom? i tried using many tools but none works
Sorry if this question is off-topic.

Firstly, getting N running as smoothly as Android 6.0.1 does, going to be a toilsome, and it's likely to stay for a long time in "Alpha" state. However, as long as we are trying to fix CM14 bugs, nobody can say whether it will or not to stay in Alpha state forever. In the fact, there is only one developer who was working on CM14 at least last month, SergeyL, as, unfortunately, I don't have much of time to work on this device now, but anyway let's see if anything will be changed.

I believe, this is not a wrong place where to ask such questions, so it can't be considered as offtop.
You can use script initramfs.py from https://github.com/ChronoMonochrome/utilities repository (read Readme file), but what are you trying to achieve?

Nope, I've probably misphrased it - it would be better to say "incompatibilities" rather than "bugs" - the way how Android N works is too different from 4.1.2 Jelly bean, where our blobs comes from, so we end up for now with a non-working audio / other multimedia except of camera (photo). We aren't going to look into 7.1.0 until we're done with 7.0.0.

EDIT: UPLOADED
Let Me know how it goes! I just own the XZ Premium
Hello,
I have tried it in the XZ1, i flashed the latest firmware, ending in 145, formated data twice, mounted the storage in recovery, copied the 2 files, tried flashing the zip, it failed with error 7, i have modifed the updater script, because the model was maple, and not poplar, flashed ok, booted ok, with the pixel notification, when i tried setting it up, there was no keyboard to input the password to my wifi network, removed the password, tried again but the setup fails, it says google play services stopped, and does not go forward. I ve tried flashing open gapps, but still no luck.
Thank you for your efforts.
Help as please.....
I'm giving it error 7, the idea is that I found on youtube several things that were about to unpack the zip to look for a script and delete something from the script, all those videos in the script show something else to be deleted from the script, I tried to I delete something, the first row with "assert" but gave me error6 .... maybe I did not delete what need to work, maybe not have all the row deleted ... Thanks
Replace maple with poplar in the first row. It appears 3 times.
have it need unlock!
THANKS...

It works, but there are 4 "maple" and there is ("This package is for" maple \ "devices car needs to be replaced ... Unfortunately, she tells me he can not sync with Google and the black screen remains
Sounds like the included GApps are not flashing right. Since Chrome is removed am i forcing a WebView install besides the Google Keyboard, Pixel Launcher and so on. It should all be there and working without further Edits or Tricks. I checked also the Updater Script and i really missed to remove the Device Checks before uploading. I will upload fixed Versions as soon as i can. Until that please check out if something was wrong while flashing and provide Logs from TWRP if possible (Got to Advanced, Copy Log after flashing).
Looking forward to give You a working Stock Patch! Think we can handle that
Nice...

I'm looking forward to solving the next update, these are the problems, the problem with the error7 which is solved by zip unpacking and "maple" with "popolar" and this problem can not be done because you can not synchronize with google and it remains in black screen after trying to search for updates, I tried to flash Pico Package for Google Package Installer and Google Play services but it does not work, same problem and the stockpackage is got bootloap probably because google installed Ventor, I'm waiting for you to solve these problems, is overtake me ... thank you

Updates coming in the next Hours after fixing some last Stuff!
Hi,
I am downloading the patch for my 8342 version (stock) but I cannot see the snap.prop file within this folder.
I have checked the other XZ1 variant and all are having it.
Could you please confirm that I also need this file to proceed ?
If yes, could you please upload it ?
Many thanks
