Hello, i'm pretty new on those things, but i'm not sure if it's my mistake or something else. I have Samsung Galaxy Mega Plus (GT-9152P, chinesse phone). I had it rooted before (it worked well with kingo root). Last days I wanted to install on it some custom rom and I got my phone a little bricked, so I installed back his stock rom.(Android 4.3 jb). From that moment I wasn't able to root it anymore and I also can't install any custom recovery. Does this mean it has locked bootloader? And if that's the reason what can I do to root it and install a custom recovery. I really need that because it don't have any google apps and it won't let me install/use them.

My device: Vzn Galaxy S4 (ME7 build)
I've rooted the phone, installed things like ROM Manager and Titanium backup, but insofar as I understand things ... its not safe (or recommended at least) to flash a custom ROM until the bootloader is unlocked and I have a custom recovery installed. Further, as I understand things, that isn't possible with ME7.
Anyhow, new to the Android and rooting world, and so I wanted to know if I got things right ... and if not, best process for backing things up, flashing ROMS, and getting back to where I started should I so desire.
Thanks much.

DO NOT FLASH A ROM ON STOCK RECOVERY!!!
their is a $3,000 bounty for just root + recovery for a good reason.
No you can't flash a custom recovery or roms if your phone installed the ME7 ota update. Titanium backup is your best bet to remove bloat and backup apps/data. if anything goes wrong you can always flash back to stock ME7 via odin.
No way, you are stuck until a patch, or a fix is done for the bootloader.
Only flash if you want to brick your phone and not have it covered by warranty. Once you have the ME7 bootloader, you no longer have the ability to flash roms, recoveries, kernels, etc.

So I Tried to root my newly acquired I717, using this method
"How To: Root AT&T Galaxy Note i717 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 " on You Tube by mooneyb123
I tried on my macbook but I wouldn't recognize the note in Jodin. So I used my Fiances pc.
I had to install keis as the video did not mention that., But it did instal TWRP, which is awesome, But when I tried to instal the CWM-SuperuserSU-v0.94 file nothing happens, it appears to work fine and says successful but when I reboot and check for Root its not rooted.
I've tried this 4 times now.
I don't know what to do next
I want to root to get rid of the ATT bloatware, and possibly overclock. I might try a stable rom like padawan later but I mainly just want to root. Is their any way to do it with TWRP? or am I going to have to go another route?
Also can I odin CWM on or do I need to wipe the device to factory first. The main thing is I don't want to brick it as I am using the phone daily.
I tried what I thought would be the "easiest" looking way to root, but since it didn't work, I need some advice.
How do i get it back to stock recovery If its not rootable? I am running 4.1.2.
I did upgrade soon after I got the device but am wondering If I could have rooted it easier on the original version of android.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
is their any way I can do it with
I just got a Tmobile Galaxy s5, and before I did anything, it updated to Lollypop. Great, but it's not rooted, and I would like to either root it, OR just install a CM12 rom on it.
I am not sure how to install recovery on this phone as it sits, and since LP is pretty new, there has not been much talk about rooting or installing a recovery on it.
TIA.

You can use Odin to install a custom recovery, just download your recovery and flash it with Odin.
Then you can install a custom rom of your choice. If you want to root Stock Lollipop, not sure how to do that...
I used towelroot to root my Verizon Samsung S4. it took seconds to root which was kind of strange for me as the last time i rooted a phone it was the HTC Thunderbolt. whole different process. So again i rooted the phone with Towelroot but superSU app wasn't installed. I went to the playstore and downloaded the Superuser. At this point i'm unsure how to flash a rom to this phone or how to flash and add anything to it. I know the phone has root because i used a root checker.
where can i find a good list of ROMS and other fun stuff to add to my phone?
I need to get this phone set up and ready to ship to my son tomorrow so if anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it
Hopefully he's a fan of touchwiz. Do some research on safestrap recovery as this is most likely your only option for flashing roms.
Xposed installer
Hello Guys! Hope you have a nice day.
I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE (that means the phone model is i9305). with a KingRoot One-Click Rooting App (kingroot.net) , it worked fine so far so I installed BusyBox (it was needed for lucky patcher I think) and few root access required apps. Now , I'd like to install a recovery and a custom rom. However RootKing SuperSU library does not work on all new roms. Thats why I want to unroot it and root again but now with ChainFire Method (I regret I havent done that before). My question is: Before unrooting should I uninstall BusyBox (Ive seen it has some library and strange things and its not only app) and other root required apps? Is there any other solution than unrooting it? Im also a newbie (u can probably see) and Im a little bit scared about what happens if flashing with odin goes wrong , but to actually make a backup Id need a recovery (correct me if im wrong) and If something goes wrong (by my fault of course) and I lose all data and I wont have backup because I couldnt make one because I need recovery to backup and it seems like a loop! Please give me any other solutions if you can! Can't wait to get your pro response!
Hi,
If you wanna unroot you don't have to uninstall busybox, but it's a good idea to uninstall other root only apps.
Root doesn't matter if you want a custom ROM, the su binary is stored within /system, if you flash a custom ROM you'll end up overwriting /system with the new ones anyway
Edit: install twrp manager from the play store if you want a custom recovery, I mean you can use cwm or philz touch, but you might not able to install newer ROMs with the latter 2.
