Opened my tablet this morning to find the navigation bar was missing. Restarted to see if this fixed the problem, then android updated but still the navigation bar is missing and I can't get it back.
It isn't rooted and I am just using the latest stock.
Any help would be appreciated. :good:
Are you rooted and did you install XPOSED with gravitybox module?

There are a number of soft-key replacement apps in the Play Store, at least one or two of which probably do not require root.
Rooted w/Ultimate Dynamic Navbar installed is the way to be, though.
Google a bit, there is a line you can add to the build.prop to hide or show the navigation bar. Maybe that will help.

Hi there, noob question, just checking - is there any way to hide navigation keys and make the status bar transparent without the root? /I think not/. I'll do a root for this purpose if I have to, but could anyone please navigate me as what to do next? Don't want to go custom rom, so I guess once rooted I go for some app that hides the navigation keys and makes the status bar transparent? Sorry if this is really basic, don't have any experience with this.

Ya you need to root your phone to hide the nav bar.
After you're rooted, use this app to configure which application you want to go fullscreen
Use this application to hide the nav bar on google play : Full!screen
When 4.4 is available for Sony Xperia Z Ultra, you can make the navigation bar and/or status bar transparent. Numerous launchers offer now the ability to hide the status bar. No root required.
You can do as I do. Use the Xposed module Tinted Statusbar. This is how my statusbar and navbar looks like.
Or you can use one of several other modules that also does the job just fine.

- Nova Launcher (Prime)
- ClickUI icons
- DashClock Widget
- Blurred wallpaper using "Blurone"
- Used "Tinted Statusbar" module for Xposed Framework to make the statusbar and navbar transparent.

Is there something that replicates this feature?: changing a notifications priority/or hiding the notification icon from the status bar.
I know that you can permanently hide all notifications of an app via app info, but what I am looking for is something that will allow me to only hide any icon from the status bar, but the notification will still be there when I pull down the notification shade.
I currently use a ROM that has this feature, and I have yet to find it implemented in any other way or through any other ROM. I would love to go back to stock or an AOSP rom and use only Xposed modules, but this is the only thing that is stopping me. This feature is absolutely vital in my opinion in my everyday use.
You can see this feature in the screenshot below. When I long press any notification when I select the Hide status bar apps notification icon, the icon will not show up. As if it either replaces it (which I believe it does with a transparent dot) or just as useful would be to change the priority of the notification to low.
This just amazes me that I can't find anything else that does this. I'm hoping there is some type of xposed module that can replicate this feature, or anything really. If only i could find the code in the source of the rom myself to compile it into stock or something... But Any thoughts anyone? I'd greatly appreciate the help.

Wow. I found a way thanks to someone at the Xposed community on G+.
The Xposed Module 'App Settings' can set priority of a notification. If you set it to Min. The icon no longer appears in the status bar. Perfect! Been using this app for so long and yet never knew of this feature.
Check it out if you are interested in that feature. Its also a really nice app for much more too.

Hello.
I just installed KitKat from http://forum.xda-developers.com/oma...rom-omate-truesmart-ironman-firmware-t2998434 and it looks like most apps launch in fullscreen mode and I have trouble getting the status bar back anywhere except from the default launcher.
Is there a way to disable this "fullscreen by default" setting anywhere?

No, this is changed in the ROM. We do not know how it is done, the Umeox/MediaTek changes are hidden.
The change is different from 4.2, so SwipeStatusBar very seldom work.
The workaround is rooting, Xposed, GravityBox and enabling Expanded Desktop.
Permanent status bar
I finally have a working PoC for permanently enabling the status bar in every app, and will try to build an Xposed module to control the visibility of the status bar in these smart watches. I'll be back
Edit:
I'm back.
Xposed module to enable the status bar in (most) launchers:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/truesmart-status-bar-custom-launchers-t3063624
(N.B! Only tested on a 4.4 ROM)
After quite some smali digging I was finally able to put together an Xposed module that enables the status bar in custom launchers (and other apps as well, if desired).
This is the very first alpha version, and it is only tested with X201-KK BASE. The module will most likely work with other 4.4 ROMS for x201 smart watches as well.
Changelog
Version 0.1: First release. Enables the status bar in most launchers. Does not play well with GravityBox.
Version 0.2: Enables the status bar in all apps. Use other Xposed modules to enable full screen mode when desired. Does work well alongside GravityBox, Xposed Additions, etc.

Click on the Download tab above, download and manually install the APK (for now).
The module should then show up in Xposed Installer. Just activate it and reboot.

Installed OK. Deactivated GravityBox when trying out.
By default, I only get the status bar flashing when first opening an application. If I am quick, I can pull down notifications.
In Nova, I can Toggle Notification Bar (shortcut) to see the status bar, but not other apps. Tried App Settings too.
At least something, it is a pain that Omate/Umeox chose to remove the status bar the way they did instead of using Android built in functionality.
The current version only enables the status bar in apps with "launcher" in their package name.
It's an ugly hack, I know, but I just wanted status bar in Nova, Launcher 8, etc. for now. It's an alpha version, you know.
I can release another APK to enable the status bar in every application, but it will not look good with a status bar in the lock screen, for example.
I would prefer a settings screen to activate/deactivate the status bar on a per app basis.
Edit:
New version released. It enables the status bar in every app. I think it works with 4.2 ROMs as well, but haven't tested.

Hi nilezon, unfortunately it seems not working on 4.2 versions. As another said some posts above, I just can see the status bar for a while when I open an app in Nova Launcher, but it disappear afterwards nor I can see the notification bar in the apps themselves :crying:. Installed v.0.2 of the module.
It would be great if you could do something for 4.2 as well. Thanks.

My fault, it worked on 4.2.2. I had to performance a full reboot upon module activation. Previously the watch had fast reboot activated and it did not work after fast reboot. Just if someone else want to try the module on 4.2.

Can you tell me what device you are using?
I have been using an app called Granular Immersive Mode that does not require root to hide the status bar on selected applications. You do need to grant permission through ADB but the instructions are fairly clear and straightforward. After the update today the app stopped working as it used to, it no longer hides the status bar, just changes color to black, I have tried other immersive mode apps and they are all working in the same fashion. This is a big bummer for me...be aware if you are running the update today and any tips or work arounds would be greatly appreciated.

I don't have this phone but Fluid NG gestures doesn't hide the navbar since android 11. I have to use a magisk module to get rid of the navbar.

LG put a backed-in option to hide the navbar now but there is no way to hide the status bar which bothers me the same.

It's because Google nuked overscan from Android with Android 11. Overscan is what allowed pretty much every third-party app in existence to "push" things like status bars and navigation bars offscreen. When asked about this, Google admitted that killing overscan is a feature, not a bug, so sadly, it's here to stay. It blows.
I loved FNG, but I've since had to revert to LG's gestures (which, to their credit, are WAY better and smoother than they were in Android 10, IMO). I can't root my phone, so it is what it is.
