Can someone confirm me that my G850L can use any rom of a different variant but with also exynos based?
I have before korean variant of LG optimus G and I successfully converted it to international rom version.
Just want ro get rid of the korean's 160 sms limit.

Try textra sms to get rid of sms limit. Havent tried it myself on the alpha but i was able to remove the limit of my lg g2 korean variant by using textra.

Go SMS Pro did the trick when I was on 4.0.4. Then I upgraded to 4.1.2 and GO SMS Pro doesn't seem to longer support dual SIM. When I reported them bout the bug they asked me to send them the MMS.apk which I did and hopefully they will have fixed that by next few updates. For you, If you're on 4.0.4, try GO SMS Pro. It might work for you.

no app for 4.1.1
i used gosms pro on ICS, where it supported dual sim, even on the popup.. but after upgrading to JB, it seems like none of the app supports dual sim messaging, except stock msging app...

You can try and use Yuni SMS. I installed it and it works fine. The only problem I have is that it does not show how many messages you are charged (For example when you exceed the 160 characters)
can you gimme the link please? I found nothing on Google and PlayStore...

I Got the same problem with Go Sms, it always sent messages from SIM Card 1!

Yap.... Same here, no dual sim support on any app except for the stock app. I'm on a BQ Aquaris 4.5

Go SMS Pro has continuously added dual SIM support to more phones. I got mine in the latest update and haven't had any issues with the feature (starmobile diamond v3). It could still look prettier though. Handcent and chomp have yet to follow suit.

With v6, on 4.4.2 Lenovo p780 I havd the same problem, but I've installed the last version from v5 (v5.61) and now it works.
I hope they will solve this situation.
I apologize if this has already been solved but everything I am finding for replacing Samsung apps with AOSP seem to be limited to 4.3, not 4.4.2. I tried using one of them anyway; SMS worked but MMS caused a FC. Has anyone else managed to replace MMS on NC2 (at least until NC5 is rooted)?
I guess it will come eventually as many have upgraded to NC2 and some NC5...so I shall wait, in embittered impatience.

Thanks. I have been using Hangouts...which despite Google's shameless plugging of G+ is actually pretty good.
I just installed an AOSP Rom and thus lost all of the stock ringtones and alarms. Usually I don't care about this, but I miss one of the alarms from stock. Anyone know where I can download them? Thanks!

You should be able to dig through the flashable zip of a stock ROM, copy the ringtones out, and put them into the custom ROM you are using. Don't know off the top of my head where in the stock ROM tho.

You can search in play store. There are so many custom keyboards with emo. Or if you want same like u saw in s4 mini you can download its rom and extract it or use adb and pull the apk if you or your friend got the device.

Samsung keyboard does not work, the application closes. So I threw xperia T and is the best.

I can't find it in smart world and I tried other means and it errors out on trying to install. it only supports like 3 phones at the moment

The new launcher is for MM only, if you try to install it on a LP V10 you will get an "error parsing package"

On an MM LG device other than the G5 it tells you it won't run cause it's not a G5. I just tried it on the korean stock MM rom for our phone. It installs just fine. Upgrades the existing LG home acutally. When you choose it, it says nope...only for LG G5.
Wonder if changing the build.prop would help?

My guess would be the manifest for the apk itself. that's where all the permissions are for the app
