Has anyone been able to successfully root the M4 Aqua please, and if so, how? I've had the phone for 3 days and I'm already fed up of seeing "not enough storage space" due to the ridiculously small amount if internal storage available. If I could root it, I could, in theory, use a third party app to repartition my sd card to convince it that part of it is internal storage, or, at the very least use Links2SD.
Alternatively, is there a way of partitioning the sd card using either a PC, or a rooted phone, such as my Xperia SP to expand the internal memory on the Aqua?
Thanks!

Hello,
What is the easiest way to expand the usable memory for apps on an Android KitKat phone which is rooted? I have seen many apps and solutions to this. Link2SD looks to be the simplest. I want to enable the device to use the external SD card to store apps and data to. The phone I have, LG L70 D321 has 2GB of phone storage and 2GB of internal RAM (ridiculous). I have a 16GB external SD card which I want to load the apps onto since the other space is already exhausted.
The solution should be transparent to the end user, meaning that when they install a new app, it simply gets installed to the SD card without having to do anything extra like assigning paths or anything.
Thanks everyone.
There are a few apps that will install them on sd cards but be warned it will hurt performance and may cause issues. Also no widgets for anything on sd card.
Hi,
My brother wants to increase his xperia z2 internal storage.
i've 64GB micro sd.
i have tried partitioning(mini tool partition) it but didn't work,when i open link2sd it says {mount script error} {Mount script cannot be created}.
I would really appreciate if someone help me to find the solution to this.
Thanks in advance,cheers!!
Cant do that without modifacation of both the hardware and software
You could probably repartition and create a link to the external storage but that would need to be initilized every boot
For now just use GL2SD for larger files or buy another phone e.g 32gb nexus 6
If your phone is rooted then you can use foldermount to store internal memory files to the external SD card (for things like games etc)

Hey guys, my phone has literally only got 400MB of internal memory left and I wanted to do something about it.
Apparently in order for me to use my external memory (micro-sd) card, I'll need to root my Android device first.
How do I root my Xperia M4 Aqua - 8GB? I have checked and it does indeed have a unlocked bootloader (don't know what that is but apparently that's good) and how can I root it so it doesn't get bricked? I don't want to use any customized ROM or anything as I heard that you can get bricked via that. I just want to root it, nothing else.
And after rooting, how do I use my micro-sd card as internal memory on the phone? Thanks!
Hello!
Follow this guide to get ROOT; http://forum.xda-developers.com/m4-aqua/general/tut-blu-twrp-root-xperia-m4-aqua-t3238962
I use link2sd to link apps to SD card.
You have to make two partitions on The sd card.
Google link2sd and you will find plenty of guides
Good luck
Another thing worth mentioning is that Android Marshmallow has support for merging your SD card and internal memory into one, meaning that the SD card will literally become an extension of the internal memory. However, you'd have to wait for the Marshmallow update for your Xperia M4 aqua for that..which will most likely arrive early next year.
Someone knows a way to get more storage?
I have my sd card in this phone but i cant move the installed
Apps on internal storage to sd. Is it possible to
Have the sd card as the main internal storage?
Or somehow install apps there? If yes, how?
Unfortunately the m4 doesn't have adoptable storage or any other useful trick's to help you out but that doesn't mean there are no solution's however most solution's involve getting root access on your m4 then deleting some of the bloatware inserted by sony an your brand of service provider eg delete facebook and messenger and replace with friendly(a small app with FB and messenger combined around 20mb)
with root access you can install an app that direct's all future app's to be installed on your external sd card thus keeping thing's freed up in your internal sd card
So perhaps this is something you could look in to.
I have an Alcatel A564C with only 2Gb of memory.
I'm to the point where I can't even install app updates because I'm so short on memory.
I've looked into rooting and a custom rom to maybe gain a little space, but there isn't anything out there.
I wouldn't mind adding a microSDXC card if I could force it to use that too or instead of the internal memory if that's possible.
