[Q] How to remove "Xperia Waves" boot animation? - Xperia Z2 Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

If prefer just a black screen or the stock lollipop one.
I had a search around and all of them are talking about phones which are portrait and our Tablet is Landscape so I figured they wouldn't work

I just installed this: http://www.gizmobolt.com/2014/06/27/install-android-l-boot-animation-on-xperia-devices/
And it just works. Not sure though that applies to all boot animations

If you are rooted: Go to /system/media and rename (or delete) bootanimation.zip .
The waves are gone then, you'll see the word android instead (also animated).
First boot Android will notice a change and report "upgrading Android", after that you are "clear"!

Thanks man worked a charm

I'm pretty sure any boot animation should work as long as its 1920x1200

Awesome thanks. This fixed an annoyance I didn't think I had! [emoji1]

This is fantastic! I just put it on my NC and I love it! I might reboot just so i can see it. Thanks for sharing.
A handy command for testing (which should be done in ADB SHELL ONLY) is "start bootanim" and "stop bootanim". The reason I say adb shell only, is that you can't really stop the animation if you start it from within a terminal app on the nook.

Would you pre-release the CM7 one? I like that stary galaxy thing
sent from a Nook Color using xda-app
Thanks, I may make it more generic later, but here's what I have so far of the CM7 one: http://defectiveimages.com/cyanoboot.zip
Just rename to bootanimation.zip and push to /data/local/
Thanks Especially if it may change later, like me some options.
Anyone have the stock one, from before AutoNooter?
Just remove the boot animation zip file and it will display the original one.

I've swapped out my boot animations many times on my Samsung Vibrant... are these animations compatible with the nook?

Kit, have you posted the CM7 one on the CyanogenMod forums? Who knows, maybe they'd use it. It's really nice, the only thing I don't care for is the text you used for the "POWERED BY"... but that's just personal preference.
Out of curiosity, what software do you use to create those?
How come when I use the "start bootanim" command the animation is so laggy?

I changed the powered by on it.
But I also made one with an eclair logo instead of Cyanogen one:
Here it is, just rename to bootanimation.zip and put it in /data/local/.
I create these in AfterEffects, by the way.
Im pretty new to bootanimations, is there a way that I could enable this without using adb to push. Ive had so many problems installing adb that I just gave up.

if you're using rootexplorer, or similar app, you could go into /data/local and delete the bootanimation.zip, then paste the bootanimation.zip you want to use there, and reboot, it should work just the same
just make sure you rename the animation zip you want to use to bootanimation.zip

[BOOT ANIMATION] Custom Boot Animations For Advent Vega [Updated 21/02/11]

Hi All.
I have had some free time so i thought i would try something i have never done. While browsing a while ago i saw some bios boot animations, so i thought i would kick off with one i made for are vegas. If i get the time i will make some more. They are easy to make, just a bit time consuming making all the .pngs for the animation (there are around 75) Feel free to edit my animations, all i ask is that you post them in this thread if you want to share them. If you plan to add it to a rom please only edit the rom info and leave my details in. "Boot By Original_Ganjaman" and credit my work.
Edit: Added New vega Boot Animation
Installation:
1 - Download the Boot Animation, rename it to bootanimation.zip and copy it to your SD card.
2 - Copy the bootanimation.zip to Data/local on your device (i use root explorer)
3 - Restart your Device and enjoy the new boot animation
To revert to normal boot screen just delete bootanimation.zip from Data/local.
If you like this thread please click the "Thanks Button"

Nice!
I knew it from HTC phones Android ROMs, didn't know its possible for tablets as well.
Will try it tomorrow.
I've just installed it already. A bit of nostalgia with the Vega prompt, I love Sega Genesis/Mega Drive since I was a child Thanks a lot!
Does this replace the Advent logo or is it for the booting part of the process before that, or indeed both?

The new 1.09 update has a small android picture instead of the booting text, that usually appears, and the bootloader size seems to have changed too, so I think that it is possible, but we don't know how...

Thank you! Great work.

No problem using this in your rom. Just as i said in my first post, if you have edited any .pngs please only post in this thread. Using a unmodified one is fine. (changing FPS etc is fine) I just dont want modified versions of my work being posted else where. What is the small change you have made?
Edited First post to clear up some sharing issues.

As discussed, I changed my modification, it shows now the original author of the animation.
On the published ROM I use the first 2 of the attached examples.
On my own tablet I show instead the owner information, as shown in the last 2 attached examples.
Thats fine. I have updated my first post to cater for people who want to add it to a rom.
Take it easy
Thx, cool boot screen ^^

How have you been creating the .pngs? I have been using photoshop cs4 and the image size is nothing like that. Even at 1024x600.

but this image is just way too big
im gonna try another solution and when its fine i will post the psd here voor everybody to make there own custom..
i found the solution it was de radial gradient... without it my images are 36kb. i wil post it when im done

Worked well for me, as Wobbly said a little grainy, but I like it a lot

it won't be as appealing if it loops... and looping was giving me issues such as the android just disappearing and a black screen staying on till boot. anyone wanna edit the images and add more animations? Maybe a CRT turn off animation similar to the portal boot animation, and then put a text saying Android or something?

i tried to make it loop as well and couldnt figure it out. as far as i understand the part1 folder is the one that loops. i copied the images from part0 to part1 and renamed them in sequential order and got nothing. maybe one of the pros on here could help us out?

you want the original bootanimation.zip file that is supposed to loop? its f*cked since the black screen keeps coming on instead of a loop :S this is actually a evo boot animation tweaked for our device (evo takes sh!t long to boot)
I can edit the images but IDK how to do a crt animation on photoshop using different images
Will this work on myt4g with S=off and stock everything?
Yep it should
Rooted/OC'd/De-bloated
For the boot animation loop you have to edit the text file that is for screen size frame rate and how many times to play each folder.

Is there any chance that this will work on my rooted HTC Incredible S?? I love this mod

Hi, The animation looks great on youtube.
I have no idea how to use the zip file (I downloaded the nook version of animation).
Can you enlighten me? (on how to install the boot animation)
Thanks.
I dont have a nook, but on phones Zip file needs to be pushed to system/media or data/local, according to the rom. I guess it's the same for nook, if you have root.
You should hit nook thread of the rom you are rocking and ask there.

I found a how-to on changing the boot animation, which worked under Phiremod 6.3, but for some reason didn't work in CM7, unless I did something wrong. Which is WAY possible.

I guess for cm7 boot goes to system/media. Use a file browser to search for bootanimation.zip and replace it.

Custom BootLogo and bootanimation for E4 (Perry)

I have finally created a boot logo that I am happy with. The placement of the N/A is in such an awkward location that it is very difficult to hide unless using an all white background...which I do not care for. I like a dark background, so this has been bugging me for a long time.
In addition, I have created my first boot animation to accompany the boot logo. It is nothing elaborate and probably will only look good when used in conjunction with the corresponding boot logo. Anyway, use them if you like.
FYI - BootLogos are flashable in TWRP. The bootanimation needs to be renamed simply to "bootanimation", manually installed, and permissions changed to rw-r-r

Thanks for these simple, yet elegant boot animations! I have been using the yellow logo LITERALLY since the day you released it, and have just now installed the animation and am loving that as well....and for any interested parties manually installing the animation means navigating to the system/media directory, (at least in the UScellular/Retail versions of this device, your mileage might vary) and renaming the boot animation.zip to bootanimation.zip.bak then copying the animation you downloaded from here to the system/media (as well as being sure to have it named bootanimation.zip and running chmod 644 on the file as well )
IS there any preview of the boot animation? also, i downloded the bluelogo.zip file and when i booted my phone the logo was actually pink. Is it just me or is the naming of the files wrong?
