I tried to Update to the OC1 update because of problems with getting 4g. I was unsuccessful and soft bricked my phone. It took me a few hours but I was able to odin back to NK1 and get back into TWRP.
Now My base band is stuck in OC1 and causing Gmail to crash and all my apps to crash. Can someone help me figure out how to get my baseband back to NK1?
Reflash using the NK1 package again, this one has just the modem if you want...but better to flash stock again and start over.

From what ive read and understand, if you try to flash to 4.3 after already having upgraded to 4.4.2, you will brick your phone or it just wont work? Is this true or not, please help! IF you can flash to a previous OS, can anyone post a link on how to do it the right way or explain how to do this, preaze?
you should be able to flash the stock mj4 .tar thru ODIN once is flash you may get stock on boot screen, go into stock recovery and clear cache and reset data and reboot.
If this dont work you can flash KK .tar and be back at square one.
from what i understand you cant downgrade, it will brick it. But i wonder if you downgrade just the modem if it will have the same issue
no downgrade...........yet hopefully
If you try to flash the stock MJ4 ROM after upgrading to KK, your phone will do nothing but reboot over and over, going no farther than the Galaxy note 3 splash screen. You CAN downgrade just the modem without bricking the phone, but I will tell you that when I did, I lost Wi-Fi. I have had horrible signal strength and signal since moving to KK 4.4.2. Even worse, something I didn't find out until after going to KK, SMS blockers won't work. Apparently there is something with the default messaging app where a notification will get sent no matter what to the default messaging app. So you'll get two notifications. You'll get get one in the blocker program and one in the default messaging app. Way to go Google on not preparing devs better, fail. Anyway, here is a link to a thread where you can get the MJ4 and NAB modems as well as the engineering bootloader. The stock bootloader is there too, but I think merely for entertainment purposes lol Anywho, here's the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51165389 As I stated before, I lost Wi-Fi when I flashed MJ4. So just flash MJ4 first, then NAB, and you should see some........some improvement in signal strength.
I'm currently running a Verizon galaxy note 2 with jedi X20. I am rooted and have twrp 2.7 installed. Im currently trying to flash I605VRUEMJ9 So I can start installing 4.3 TW roms. however when I flash MJ9 in odin. everything runs fine until odin causes it to restart and it just puts me into recovery. every time so im guessing it never has a chance to finish. It still shows im running 4.1.2. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If you're not flashing the pit file with it, try that to see if it will work.
Edit: ... You probably know this, but don't flash the entire 4.3 stock MJ9 ROM or you'll permanently lock your bootloader. Just Odin flash the MJ9 firmware only.
If it keeps failing, you might consider ODIN'ing back to 4.1.2 stock VRAMC3, then running Casual again, then updating your recovery. That would at least give you a clean slate to start with... You might also try a different version of one of the latest recoveries. Hope you got it working.
Good luck!

Just as an FYI I got it figured out. Turns put it was flashing mj9 and worked but i still had a 4.1.2 rom installed. all I did was use twrp to install meanbeans reborn and now my phone is running 4.3 mj9. Thanks for the help.
Hey folks... so I've been using SafeStrap on a stock (locked) MJ9 device to run a couple different roms, but I decided to restore my original backup so that I could get the new KK update. Every time I try to do the update, it downloads, reboots, gets about halfway up the progress bar, and then it fails and reboots. Anybody have any ideas what might be causing this or what might fix it? Huge thanks!
Unroot your phone
You may also want to try to flash a stock 4.3 MJ9 rom.
Well, unrooting didn't work, but reflashing the stock MJ9 with Odin did! Thanks folks!
Hi all, I got myself in a bind here. I came from NK1 stock. I used ODIN to downgrade to NC5, TowelRooted, ODINed back to NK1. Installed BusyBox and Safestrap. Made a backup of stock slot in Safestrap. Everything up to that point was flawless.
So I created ROM slot 1 in Safestrap, and installed Hyperdrive v20. The install seemed to go well, but upon booting into Hyperdrive, there was no WiFi. Stock still had WiFi. No big deal, just need to flash gigilie's WiFi fix, right? Well I installed the zip in Safestrap, no errors occurred, but it did not fix WiFi.
So I decided to go back to stock until I could figure out the problem, but suddenly my PIN code no longer worked on the lock screen; I had to factory reset stock. Now that I've done the factory reset, there's no WiFi in stock, either. What's my next step?
Tried installing I545_NK1_Modules.zip, no change. I think I'll try muniz_ri's I545_NK1_Stock_Rooted_Safestrap_Backup.rar and I545_NK1_Stock_Partitions.tar.md5 when I get home from work. Any suggestions are welcomed.
Yup, muniz_ri's Alternative Safestrap Method seems to have fixed it. Back on rooted stock with everything working. I think I'll hold off on custom ROMs until more information about NK1 is available. It's hard to sift through so much information, much of which is not applicable to NK1.
Started with a rooted Galaxy S4 on MK2.
Upgraded to NC5 with no issue using SafeStrap 3.72.
Booted into SafeStrap recovery, wiped everything except External Memory.
Loaded Hyperdrive into the Stock ROM slot and chose all my options.
Here's the problem. I got fat fingers and accidentally rebooted without flashing the HyperdriveUI and the SuperSU files.
Now, it boots just fine, but I'm getting an error regarding com.android.keyguard every five seconds. And I know I have lost root.
Okay, so where do I go? Should I start over with MK2, or is there a way to reload the NC5 via Odin which is the only thing that my computer is recognizing since I cannot re-activate USB debugging on the phone? I'm not completely bricked, but I feel like I'm sitting right on the edge of it. I am able to boot into Download mode and Odin 3.09 recognizes the phone. How do I get this thing back to a place where I can re-root it, preferrably keep NC5, and get Hyperdrive loaded properly?
Edit: Okay, I was able to flash the stock (stock stock) MK2 build. Now I just need to root, load NC5, and try Hyperdrive again. I'm not out of the woods yet, but I'm getting closer.
Edit 2: Got it re-rooted, and updated to NC5. I suppose I can delete this thread as it doesn't provide any help to anyone.
my phone do restart and dont open
