[Q] Looking for an RUU for VZW HTC Rezound - HTC Rezound

I have an s-off'd / unlocked / rooted / TWRP (recovery) rezound that is working.
Want to sell it and buyer requests factory reset. I can't find the RUU files anywhere.
the posted articles point to androidpolice.com and that source return's a 404 not found?

Does anyone have an RUU I can use to reset to stock and then reset the flag to be s-on?
Thanks

I found: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509770
which pointed me to 2 PH98IMG.zip files (which I hoped were the ICS and
global radio ones).
Can anyone confirm for that I just need to apply the zips with fastboot RUUmode &
fastboot flash zip, then reset the s-off flag?

I never tested the procedure with the Rezound but I once did it with an EVO 3D that was Unlocked and S-OFF, and it worked juste fine (after flashing it said Locked & S-OFF). However in the end I wasn't able to sell it so I didn't set it back to S-ON, I don't know how to do that.
The official Global update was only available as an OTA patch so you have to apply the official ICS RUU (3.14.605.12, radios 1.22) and then the official Global OTA (4.05.605.14, radios 2.23).
There was a v4.03 RUU with Global radios 2.22 floating around for a long time before the 4.05 was released but it was unofficial so I wouldn't flash that one.

Here are some more. http://androidruu.com/?developer=Vigor

My question would be, why bother? This device will never get another firmware update, just go to the Dev section and find the latest stock/rooted image and flash... GTG

Maybe the buyer wants pure stock without root?
I also find that ridiculous, ICS is so old now that it would be better to put something like CM10.2 on it (so the camcorder works) and unroot it if the buyer doesn't want root (some people dislike it because they don't want to have to deal with apps asking su rights and the like).

[Q] Radio Update

I can't update my radio on my HTC Evo 3D CMDA. So far I'm on S-on and unlocked with Meanrom 0.8 andbuild number 2.17.651.5 baseband radio 0.97.10.0808.
I have tried RUU back to original stock and no luck.
This has cause dropping of calls alot.
What can i do to fix this issue?
so if am understanding this correctly you are trying to manually update from your settings, correct?
yes but nothing is working.
your ROM probably has the updater function removed from it...
this is for good reason... because you should never accept OTA updates, nor apply them.
if you are looking to update your radio hit the dev section because it has been nicely package in a flashable zip, and you can just flash the radio.
i haven't accept any ota's my rom doesn't have the updater either.
where in the dev section in the flashable radio because i have tried the bootloader way too.
search for a thread created by Freeza.. you'll find it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1443592
If this it i have tried this nothing works. Tried locking the bootloader too.
yes i apologize, TrevE's thread, freeza's post.
post # 131 of that thread bro. should be all set.
okay tried that through the bootloader method didn't work.
i just noticed your first post says you are s-on... are you on Hboot 1.5?
yes hboot 1.50 with s-on and unlocked running meanrom.
pretty sure you have to put a COMPLETELY stock ROM on it first...
the updater package does a number of checks throughout the system to verify it is compatible. runs through /system/app directory, **** like that. so if there are inconsistencies or if something is missing (like bloatware), it will abort the update.
i don't think being rooted will matter, however, but you WILL need to be on a completely stock ROM (pre-update)
what would be the right stock rom pre update?
Thx for all this help
no problem... and i am positive there are some completely stock RUU threads in the dev section. i know xhausx has posted one or two before... look around i know you will find one.
okay i think i found where i need to be. just which one?

okay successfully did the stock rom but when it does the radio update through the bootloader way it does nothing.
I put the PG86IMG.zip on the root of the sdcard and boot to the bootloader and reads it but does nothing to the radio.

Sent from EVO 3D using XDA premium
after rebooting and back up it didn't change the radio. Does the phone need to have stock kernel?
everything needs to be stock before you do it.

Returning to Stock (s-on, rooted, still on GB)

Alright, I've been trawling Google for a good 48 hours and I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for. I have an unlocked bootloader (which I know how to relock if necessary), am S-on, and am still running the original GB that the phone came with, however I have a custom recovery (which doesn't work), and am rooted. I'm trying to return my phone to stock so I can get the new OTA update. Is there a way to return to stock GB (or skip to the latest ICS, stock of course) without acquiring s-off. I know the ruu thing is an option but all of the links to the file on the forums I am visiting seem to be broken. I guess more directly put, can someone post a link to the file (and the instructions if you're feeling very generous)?
All help is appreciated.

Here is a link to a page that's got the official GB 2.01.605.11 OTA RUU as well as the latest 3.14.605.12 ICS OTA RUU.
http://www.filefactory.com/f/c2e320ee1d5c7886/
Relock your bootloader and rename which ever file you decide to use to PH98IMG.zip and place on the root of your external SD card (not in any floders). Reboot to bootloader and it will automatically scan and find the file and ask you if you want to install the update.
GB RUU will allow you to accept the official OTA or you could just bypass that all together and install the 3.14.605.12 ICS RUU.

[Q] return to stock, S-ON

hey everyone, this is my first htc device and i'm having an issue. When i got it, it was running scott's clean rom ICS leak. I installed the latest cm10(4.2.x). no problem... i decided i wanted to try out some new roms and maybe even give sense based roms a shot. Here is the problem... every rom i install other than CM10 constantly reboots. Best i've been able to tell is whenever it needs to use the radio for data transmission, it will reboot. this is a pain. I figured the easiest thing to do would be to return to stock and start all over, but since this is my first HTC, i could use some help.
here is my phone info:
HTC Rezound
S-ON
Amon-Ra recovery
CM10(4.2.1) nightly build 10.1-20130209-unofficial-vigor
kernel 3.0.16-gcbef745
baseband version 0.95.00.1118r, 0.95.00.1223r

Yes. S-off just let's you downgrade firmware and automatically flash kernels when you flash a ROM.
However, I wouldn't use that global leak since you are s-on. You won't be able to downgrade from it. There's an official global OTA out now, so if you use the latest official RUU here:
http://androidfiles.org/ruu/?developer=Vigor
You can get back to stock, take the OTAs to get you to xx.xxx.xx.13 and then to the new global OTA so you will be on the latest official global stock. Then I would make a nandroid of that so you'll always have it to go back to easily before flashing a different ROM.
Also, are you flashing the kernel for each ROM after flashing the ROM? I think an incompatible kernel could cause problems.
i flash the rom and then the hboot.img for each new rom. i was also wondering about incomplete kernels or some leftover part of my cm10.1 that doesnt get overwritten and conflicts with the other roms... thanks a bunch, youve been a great help. i'll start this off hopefully tonight and post any updates
i ran the RUU and keep getting errors, saying it is unable to flash my phone. also, checking the version numbers, it appears my current cm10.1 rom is tied to the 605.2 global leak. i've also tried downloading the official releases and flashing them via fastboot, however, every downloaded zip gives me an error when i try to open them in windows and they do not flash correctly via fastboot. any ideas? i'll run through these again and grab the specific error codes.
here's what the RUU is telling me
4.03.605.2 current
3.14.605.12 new
error 140 bootloader version error
hboot-2.11.0000
radio-0.95.00.1118r/0.95.00.1223r
openDSP-v10.3.0.7611.00.0919
i got this error after doing and oem lock in fastboot. previously i was getting an "unknown error"
In order to run an RUU put out by Verizon you need stock recovery. Try that.

You're trying to install an older version then you already have on the phone, that's not gonna work.
It appears you already installed the global RUU at some point, use it from the link I posted above...

No you don't since it's installed while in the bootloader, the RUU will put it back to stock as part of running it.
you guys have been tons of help! i've tried a number of times with the RUU.exe programs and using fastboot and have gotten nothing but errors. Finally, i did what i should have done from the beginning... i took the global RUU 4.xx.605.2, placed it on the sd card and renamed it ph98img.zip and let it boot intot he bootloader while the phone was relocked. i had tried this while unlocked with no success. and behold, my rezound is updating, i am currently on the newest hboot and am updating the rest and returning it to stock. from there, now that i'll have the newest radios and hboot, i'm going to re-unlock it and install some good ole sense based ics roms w/ jb features... haha
This has been a great learning session for me as i thought i was pretty affluent w/ android modding, but leave it to htc to throw me some curveballs.
thanks again guys, i'll pass on whatever knowledge i gain and "pay it forward" from here.

[Q] HTC One 1.25.502.15

I've already unlocked bootloader and rooted device, following which I realized that there is no s-off option for me on the current hboot I have (1.44 after May) and not realizing that s-off is available for the latest AT&T release with 4.3. This is my second HTC device but it is my first go at s-off. I've been doing a lot of research but keep hitting dead ends it seems. Ideally, I would like to flash back to stock recovery and unroot by flashing stock 1.26.502.15 RUU (which is what I am currently on) so I can get OTA then use rumrunner to obtain s-off. I've also looked into downgrading/upgrading the current software number from 1.26.502.15 to 1.26.502.12/3.17.502.3 so I can use revone/rumrunner but I can't confirm whether or not I can flash RUU without being s-off'ed. If anyone can provide any advise I would greatly appreciate it. I'm also not sure if I'm using the terminologies correctly or if this is even posted in the right section.. Thanks in advance!
If you are currently on .12 firmware then you should still have 1.44 HBoot. If so, all you need is REVONE to S-Off. Doing anything else will make it even more of a chore. I believe if you update after then it is S-On again unless you flash one of the other ROM's that are available. You can also run the current RUU from the HTC website to give you the 4.3 update, but you will have 1.55, thus having to use Rumrunner. To run the current RUU, I think you have to relock it too, and unlock it again, at least I did with AIO. You can run any RUU without S-Off that is compatible with ATT. If you want the Brightstar GPE RUU, then yes, you must have S-Off, and change the CID to match that version, and etc for other versions.

I'm on .15 right now but didn't know if I could update to HTC website 4.3 because I am currently unlocked and rooted and do not have s-off. When I relocked bootloader and tried OTA I had to reboot and it just kept rebooting to TWRP and would not update successfully. So I didn't think the manual update would work?
The manual update will work, but it will WIPE everything. Been there done that, not a big deal though. Went through it, re-unlocked, re-flashed CWM, and that was that. I was going to do S-Off to get the GPE RUU, but heck, with the ATT Remove Bloat script, don't see the need anymore. Got 4.3 running as smooth as it can be, no ATT bloat, and GREAT battery life.
So even though I do NOT have S-off, I can still use the HTC released update to flash onto my phone with the current modifications that I've made already (Unlock and root on JB 4.1.2, software 1.26.502.15, hboot 1.44)? I was under the impression that with S-ON you cannot flash RUU, is that not correct? In the current state, I have to just re-lock bootloader and I can install the official HTC released update? And after which all my data will be wiped, including the custom recovery (TWRP) and root, all of this will be gone? (which is fine) I just have been researching and see that bricking the device is more likely to happen if the device is S-ON and you attempt to flash.
Rumrummer actually has a version available for 1.26.502.15, I used it on Sunday successfully to gain s-off with my mom's phone.

With S-ON
As far as i have read, you can:
Update to a newer firmware. (but i don't really know if you can flash another htc one rom model, eg. flash an m7 rom into a m7att phone)
Reflash the same stock firmware via recovery (http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads)
YOU CAN NOT DOWNGRADE.
Install CWM Recovery or TWRP Recovery.
Root.

I am very sure, I still have the zip in my downloads folder, however, Rumrunner has been updated to be universal across most firmwares, this should include 1.26.502.15 because there was a version of rumrunner for it previously. Just go to rumrunner.us and follow their instructions.

[Q] Help with my att htc m8

Hi,
Can someone help me please. I am looking for a rom for my AT&T US, HTC One M8. I'm running 4.4.2, Hboot 3.16, Radio 1.16..., and 1.58.502.1 firmware.I have the 3.4 kernel. I am unlocked, TWRP latest custom recovery, and rooted with SuperSU. I am S-On. I can't S-Off and can't update my Firmware. I need it to work in the US, so what rom can I flash that will work. When I go to Dev sites every rom I see only has the 4.4.3/4.4.4 versions with the new Firmware, for my device. When I try to flash .zip's through TWRP, Aroma gives me a success, but it auto reboots and I get stuck in boot loop... I am able to recover the stock image, but can't get a custom rom to stick. I have watched hours of videos and read hundreds of pages of threads. HELP

There are 4.4.2 roms still available but your best bet is pay the $25 for sunshine s-off utility that way you can update your firmware and run whatever rom/kernel you want.
If you've tried the flash various ROMs, and they all won't boot, then the problem is not what ROM, but something else.
adb erase cache
Then, flash recovery again. Possibly re-download recovery, to make sure the file is not corrupt.

^^ I did that when I rooted the phone. I used the HTCDev to unlock it. I used Fastboot and adb in cmd from my PC to install TWRP and the Recovery file and clear the cache. Should I reflash recovery again???
I have wiped and tried factory resets before installing a rom. The problem is that I can't find the download link for an old rom for my specific phone. I need the 1.58.502.1 version (Don't I ?), so that I don't have to change my Firmware through S-OFF... When I find a rom that did make one that would work on my device, they have already updated the OP download link with their latest version to run with the updated AT&T 4.4.3/4.4.4 and 2.22.1540.3.

I just told you to adb wipe cache and flash recovery again. Why are you asking me this? A lot of issues with TWRP not flashing ROMs can be solved by wiping cache and flashing again (probably just a bad initial install).

Any ROM that is not 2.xx Sense based.
I haven't checked every single thread/link, but most (if not all) 1.54 and 1.58 based Sense ROMs on my Index thread seem to be working:

You sure? I haven't seen sunshine fail for anybody, much less AT&T, which hasn't had their software updated for sometime now. Regardless of how new the device is, its still the same 1.58 software, which is 3 months old at this point.
firewater, on the other hand is known to fail for more recent AT&T versions.

So for instance on your Index, I followed the link to ViperOneM8 1.6.0. This takes you to the Dev page for that rom. I follow the page to downloads that directs me another page. Along the way I find out that it looks like ViperOneM8 1.8 is the last update before 2.xx. The download page only has the most recent ViperOneM8_2.2.0.zip, or they offer the OTA increments of each previous version. Those aren't large enough to be the whole rom. How do I find the legacy full roms?

I think you picked one of the few (maybe the only one) that doesn't link to an actual 1.xx ROM. Just pick any other one.
EDIT: Oh, wait InsertCoin also. Will update the Index to show those as 2.22 ROMs.
Devs usually don't keep their legacy versions posted. Most you can do is ask if another member has the zip.

I think you picked one of the few (maybe the only one) that doesn't link to an actual 1.xx ROM. Just pick any other one.
EDIT: Oh, wait InsertCoin also. Will update the Index to show those as 2.22 ROMs.

Thank you for all of the information. I guess the roms develop faster than I can get a phone for them It baffles me that a version for each baseline of a current device isn't listed. I guess I should flash back to the most current stock rom and wait for the OTA from AT&T. I might try the S-Off for $25, but I have seen a lot of chatter about newly bought M8 ATT devices not working. Something about them having a patch from HTC...
