So I was lucky enough to score a free tablet from a promotion. It is a generic no-name brand device made from a company called "Ultralight Android Edge". It is a 7-inch tablet with ics and is locked with a password as I found out when I came home and tried to turn it on. I have tried to put in atleast 500 different pins to get it to unlock. Then I tried to enter into recovery mode but no button combinations would put me into recovery. The device wont turn on if a volume button is pressed with it and when it does turn on without any volume button press, I cannot force it to enter recovery later on. Please note that the device only has a volume rocker and a power button. After many failed attempts, I decided to use adb to boot into recovery but since it is locked, I cannot enable usb debugging and adb does not recognize any device. Finally I tried to boot the device while a usb cable was plugged in and although windows recognized it, a micro second later it would disappear.
Somebody please help me remove this password. I don't know why it was locked when I got it. Also, there is nothing in the box that specifies a password so not much to do there as well.
Thanks
Contact whoever was behind the promotion you won it at.
They are closed for Sunday and I don't know if they will be back for Monday...
This is the Fusion5 in question
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01CCYEIW2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I tried rooting the tablet using kingoroot - both the Android app & the PC program..All 'failed' - but tablet was still running ok, so I'm guessing it's not possible to root it with these programs
Anyway, I accidentally left the battery to drain out, causing it to turn off - so started recharging it.
Once I thought it had enough charge I tried turned on the tablet, saw the White 'Fusion5' title screen followed by the black 'android' text screen... but now it's stuck on the android screen
So I've tried:-
> Turning off/on by power switch - same thing (White Fusion5/Black android screens)
> Press the small 'reset' hole on the back - same thing
> Tired different combo's of Power button/ vol +/vol - buttons - same thing
Have I bricked it ??
Is there a way to get the thing to boot up into recovery.. if so what's the button combo's ? or is there some other way using PC
IS there a recovery mode for this tablet or did kingoroot wipe it/corrupt it somehow ??
Any help greatly appreciated
EDIT: btw further searching seems to show theres a 'kingroot' and a 'kingoroot'
- but 'kingroot' website [https://kingroot.net] doesn't exist but a google search shows kingroot [https://king-root.net/] however the download is being picked up by Virus checker as malware
Has it booted far enough to retrieve a logcat?
If ADB is responding, adb reboot recovery is another hope.

Thanks for the quick reply however the main reason I went 'kingoroot' was for simplicity since I don't know anything about ADB
(I know of it, just not how to use it)
Anyway, tried following one of the many guides (this one in fact)
but when I do 'adb devices' it's not showing anything, although it's possible something is conflicting because even though my Samsung phone shows up when I plug it in, doing 'adb devices' shows nothing - I would've expected the Samsung to show up at least
I'll have more time during weekend to try & figure out why phone not showing in ADB & experiment with ADB a bit more
So i was using RessurectionRemix (a version from last month) and recovery twrp 3.1.0-0 and the phone was working great!
Yesterday i left my phone charging over night and in the morning i wake up to my phone bootlooping!
So i tried different things including everything it says here https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/how-to/guide-hard-brick-fix-qualcomm-hs-usb-t3492949 without luck
I can get it into recovery and fastboot but as soon as i let the key combination go the phone stops and just shows a black screen (screen is on) and i cant get into qualcomm recovery to flash!
And the only way to shut off the phone is by holding power + vol up + vol down!
Any solution or suggestions?

connect phone to computer, try force shutdown phone by hard button, ater phone shutdown, immediately release power but keep both volume. Phone maybe will enter Qualcomm flash dead mode, and Flashone will regconize com phone (refresh nedded)
Hope you success ! And believe, if a phone can flash with Qfil or Flashone, almost that phone never die (software)
Are you able to connect to the phone via Vysor, either via Chrome browser or as a standalone app on Windows PC when you do not see anything on the phone screen? Please post if Vysor install goes thru successfully. Hope your developer options/USB debugging are on. I assume your phone boots but may have display issues either hw or sw.

Phone gets recognized but not long enough to do anything (windows makes sound but doesn't install anything and doesn't show up in device manager)
try this guide
https://www.gizmochina.com/2016/11/20/leeco-x820-max-2-super-unbrick-guide/
You have mentioned that you are able to see the device in recovery and fastboot till you release the buttons - does this mean if the buttons are held say in fastboot mode you are able to see the device via "fastboot devices" or in recovery the twrp screen or nothing ever shows up at all? Are the buttons clicking properly? Check individually to make sure - particularly the power button. Does it vibrate at any point of time when you press and hold the power button? Are you able to see any backlight when you say the screen is on?
If there no backlight shine a torch or sunlight from the side of the screen to see anything at all on the screen.
Vysor reports apk not installed when it attempts to download from PC to phone but fails. With Vysor you will have two windows one showing status of phone - this is the main window. The other is the mirrored one - that of the phone when you click view on the main window. I forgot that the phone requires approval to install the apk. Please see the attached thumbnails. Keep touching the screen about 3 cms up from the bottom of the screen (not the phone) to see any change. Hope your touch works.
I know it is quite frustrating to try a number of things. I recently went thru the same on Galaxy S4 to make sure the phone but for the screen works OK prior to ordering the screen. Besides in my case developer options was disabled and touch also did not work. It took about a week of learning and trying to see something on Vysor. I never have used a Sam phone till that time this broken phone was handed over to me.
After a lot of trying i found out that when i keep pressed power + vol down or vol up while connected to pc and device is off it gets recognized as
qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008 long as i keep the keys pressed so i tried the flashone method but it just says could not connect
Are Qualcomm drivers loaded on your computer? I have not used flashone. I used QPST to see if phone is connected. I am not sure if they are same.

It doesn't stay long enough in recovery or fastboot to do anything it shuts off after a few seconds even with the buttons pressed after that it just shows a black screen
Phone vibrates when i press power and shows leeco logo (not os logo) and after 1-2 seconds screen goes black and phone vibrates again and shows leeco logo again and just continues looping
if i try to press power + vol up normally it goes into recovery but as soon as recovery is loaded screen goes black (screen on just doesn't show anything) the same goes for fastboot if i press power + vol down it loads fastboot but after 1-2 seconds screen goes black
if i keep pressing keys the phone just stays longer in recovery/fastboot but only 4-5 seconds
I assume you have adb and fastboot. Since you say the screen remains on when booting to recovery open a command prompt at the directory where adb is and issue a command "adb devices" without quotes. Does it just exit without showing any device or throws up some error? Try this irrespective of the black screen.
Have you looked at and tried what is given by @HTC-TYTN2 at post #8? It is for Le Max 2 and you will find a link to Quallcomm drivers too. Do not bother that the link mentions X820 even your Max 2 is 821, 829, etc.
since it happened after charging, you might want to check your cable and battery. best is to get a cheap usb multimeter.

I too thought it could be the battery based on that's the screen goes off. But he also mentioned that the screen remains on but nothing to be seen after a short while. Wanted to suggest slow speed charging probably via a laptop usb as I'm not sure if he used high speed charging resulting in battery issue.
Did you solve the problem?
My phone just died completely! No response at all anymore. I'm contacting the seller now to send the phone back.
Looks like it is a hardware defect! A pretty odd one but nothing i can do anymore. I send it back and post what the problem is as soon as get any information.
Thanks to everyone who tried to help!

Try this:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=136823
download file, unzip, open folder, connect phone to USB via fastboot ( phone off phone + hold volume -) . Click to the flash app in your PC. The app should find the phone. Confirm TWRP problem -NO and start flash.
Drivers must be installed.

Hi there XDA community,
I am turning to you with a specific question that I have regarding the issue with my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 from 2/2017.
I had an accident where the phone fell on the side directly on the Volume Down button and it was constantly pressed in. I used to have issues with waking up my screen as it would automatically switch off if I didn't press the Volume Up and Back buttons simultaneously. Otherwise the phone is still in full working condition and I managed to unstuck the Volume Down button since.
When I ended one phone call, the black screen wouldn't turn on no matter what, so I got frustrated and played with the buttons and entered the Fastboot mode. I didn't do anything there so I just left and turned the device back on normally.
I was prompted to enter my password, which is always the same 4 charachter all-numbers code and it wouldn't get recognized by the phone no matter what. I am sure I typed it in correctly.
Ever since, I have been locked out of the phone and am looking for options to gain access to it.
The Android Device Manager is of no help, I do not have any Forget Password buttons, my bootloader is locked as far as I know because I didn't change anything there and the USB debugging is disabled.
Do I stand any chance of accessing my data without losing it, perhaps with use of some special software tool or passcode remover?
I don't know exactly what my firmware is, but it probably is MIUI 8 or 7.
Thank you very much for your help and advice!
Wish you to end 2017 being your bestself possible!
Odinlo
Did you tried this ?
http://en.miui.com/thread-292962-1-1.html
Hey,
the Android Device Manager is of no use because the phone is too new to change the password.
Also the recovery mode is inaccessible because the bootloader is locked any my USB debugging is not enabled.
Can you help yourself with the Fastboot mode in any way?
Also, I don't understand why something like this would happen and what is the password now that the device demands.
Do you know of any software tool that would recover all the data after restoring the phone and deleting all the data?
Thank you very much!

Hi Teddy Lo,.
thanks for help, I really appreciate it. It is the Lock screen password on the device
Is there a way to force a connection to your smartphone when it wont register a connection to adb or fastboot commands? I do have the correct drivers and previously had my Tiare rooted so no issues there. Unfortunately I truly wish that the problem was the Penguin appearing on the screen because least at that stage it will still grant a fastboot connection. As of now it just will vibrate when boot keys are held down once every 7 or 8 seconds whether it be the fastboot mode keys pressed or the recovery keys. But there is no interaction between the devices. If anyone can help me access my phone again i would truly appreciate it..
thanks
