I'm having a spot of trouble trying out the ViPER4Android DSP plugin on my phone. While I have the corresponding apps and drivers installed, I'm unable to enable the DSP effect owing to fact that there is no "Music Effects" option in the Sound settings menu.
Is there some way to restore this option to the menu? I'm using an AOSP-based stock 4.0.4 ROM on my Huawei Ascend G600. Perhaps it can be done through the terminal/shell scripts or an init.d script?
Thanks in advance.
download this "dropbox.com / s / trd6cr60vmc7o0g /MusicFX.apk" not my dropbox .. credit to the owner , install as system app and give full permission after restart take a look in sound menu .. tested on C8813D
Hey, thanks I'd actually used another app (from a chinese forum) to add VFX to the list of enabled audio effects but it's always useful to have other options The APK you linked, however, didn't work - Might be it was meant for a different version of Android. But it got me looking for it elsewhere and I found this, and it works.
Im facing similar issue and tried Aung3 solution. It didnt work(still no "music effects" menu in sound settings).
Can anyone offer alternative solution? I cannot set V4A on my S3 mini due to this missing settings menu.
(if that matters, im using this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2280401)
Thanks
CyanogenMod Rom for Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, SM-T900 (v2wifixx)
NEW VERSION CyanogenMod 12.1, "Lollipop" version 5.1.1
CM 12.1 compiled for the SM-T900 from source code
These are unofficial releases of CyanogenMod for the Samsung Tab Pro 12.2 SM-T900 (v2wifixx). CyanogenMod is an aftermarket firmware for phones and tablets based on the open-source Android operating system. It offers features not found in the official Android based firmwares of vendors. These ROM's are compiled from CM sources, and based on CM ports by crpalmer for the Tab Pro 10.1 (SM-T520), he deserves the credit, this would not be possible without his work. I also want to thank Valera1978 for his work on our sister tablet, the SM-P900.
WARNING: This is released without warranty of any kind. Use of this software could damage or destroy your tablet. Use at your own risk.
How to install:
1. Root device
2. Download Rom and Gapps
3. Install custom recovery, recommend TWRP Tab Pro 12.2 (v2wifixx), can be flashed with Odin or from existing recovery.
You may also use Clockwork Recovery, a custom recovery img file can be installed using dd and Terminal Emulator. First download to /sdcard, and install to /dev/block/mmcblk0p10.
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p10
4. Backup stock with custom recovery.
5. Flash Rom and Gapps.
6. Enjoy

Source files for CyanogenMod for the Samsung Tab Pro 12.2 SM-T900 (v2wifixx) on Github
Building CyanogenMod 12.1 for the SM-T900 from source is not too difficult. You do need basic computer knowledge especially with linux. CyanogenMod has wikis on how to compile for different devices. If you setup for picassowifi, just add the local manifest under .repo, then
Code:
repo sync
and the kernel, vendor and device files will automatically download from Github. Then
Code:
source build/envsetup.sh
and
Code:
brunch v2wifixx
Good luck and have fun.
Local Manifest

Vendor source:

Again, source files are a fork from crpalmer and Valera1978, many thanks for their efforts.
Awesome and thank you for your contribution.

Thank you chhaggerty. This CM11 built directly from the cyanogen source code is very smooth and reactive. It's runs better than the predecessors, as it is created directly from cm11 source code and adapted to the SM-T900 instead of being a direct port from another device. I have fortunate to run this version in beta for 5 or 6 days now and I have not seen any issues in this release, but from the screen rotation that only seem to react if the app has a default setting. You can use the Set Orientation, or the Ultimate Rotation Control app to pick the rotation you desire.
This list of functions, based on weaknesses in other builds and ports for the Tab/Note family, have been tested without any issues:
- mtp - to activate go to Settings/About tablet/ and tap 8 times on Build number - The menu will now have Settings/{ } Developer options/ activated. Check mark USB debugging notify.
- adb
- External SD - I used JRummy's SD KitKat Fixer to allow my apps to write to the removable card (common w. all cm ROM's)
- USB OTG including USB storage
- Off-mode charging
-----------------------------------------
- Lid sensor is working, and no SOD's has been observed
- IR blaster is working, i've used IR2.0
- OC settings - located in Settings/Performance/
- Advanced reboot - to activate go to Settings/About tablet/ and tap 8 times on Build number - The menu will now have Settings/{ } Developer options/ activated. Check mark Advanced reboot.
-----------------------------------------
- Play Store
- Google Play movies download and playback
- Google Play streaming Movies & TV
- DRM - tested with Audible, Google Books and Amazon Kindle
-----------------------------------------
- Zona
- Popcorn Time - need upgrade to latest version 2.3 beta, includes built-in VPN and Chromecast support with subtitles, earlier version timed out
- YouTube 720p playback - 1020p possible with small hack, 1440p will work w. v5.9.0.12
- Netflix
-----------------------------------------
- Chromecast with #MirrorEnabler hack, allowing for screen cast
- MHL connector
- Miracast
-----------------------------------------
- Capacitive lights - I assume this is the backlights for the capacitive buttons
- Capacitive keys
- Home button - correct function performed
- Brightness manual + auto
- Vibrator
-----------------------------------------
- GPS lock and voice directed navigation
- WiFi both 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz are working
- Bluetooth
- Microphone
- Audio on both speakers
- Headphones
-----------------------------------------
- Camera
- Torch
- Camera Sensors
-----------------------------------------
- Xposed Framework and modules - need re-initialization after each boot (common to all cm ROM's)
- Superuser
- Hangouts Dialer phone calls via Hangouts
-----------------------------------------
The following are standard limitations and options for cm11:
If you need write access to your external SD-card i suggest to d/l JRummy's SD KitKat Fixer and if you need init.d support d/l Uni-init by Ryuinferno. If you think to much heat is building up use Performance/Profile set to Power save, Performance/Processor/CPU governor/ set to ondemand, in addition to increase battery time you can set Wi-Fi/Advanced/Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep/ to Only when plugged in and make sure the Wi-Fi/Advanced/Wi-Fi optimization/ is checked and reduce Display/Sleep/ to below 1 minute. You can also use some apps to improve battery eg Easy Battery Saver, or the more sophisticated AutoCon+ Save Battery & Data and and to put hanging apps to hibernation Greenify that I believe require Xposed Installer. To improve charging time, you can use an app eg Faster Charger. Finally, I have also used PurePerformances in order to further improve the performances and VIPER4AndroidFX to allow for louder speaker sound and enhanced listening experience.
I would love to see someone building an AOSP kernel containing eg fast charge, and OC, cifs etc. as these will never be part of a true cm11 kernel.
bonuzzz has an overclocked kernel with source code for the P-900 TouchWiz, but it runs just as well on the T-900, that could be used as a base for conversion into AOSP, if someone is willing to give it a try.
much better than the stock rom. Thank you.
Hi,
Display mirror over Chromecast first works, now after upgrading some apps (google Play) it stops working.
I can cast via YouTube, but the Chromecast is not listed in Display Mirror.
Any ideas?

In order to get Screen Mirroring over Cromecast to work on the T-900, you will need to apply a hack, #MirrorEnabler, http://forum.xda-developers.com/hardware-hacking/chromecast/experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193, wherein you activate: Mirrorstatus and QuickSettings Mirror. After this you should see the option Cast screen in the dropdown menu in the upper left corner. If it's not there uncheck, and recheck the options in #MirrorEnabler, also #MirrorEnabler require #Superuser allowed, but the question should pop-up when you activate the hack.

Are you talking about 5G Speed Up Internet Browser (no issues), 5G NET Softphone, or what app specifically? Apparently you meant WiFi over the 5GHz band, it should work though.

I meant 5G wifi but figured out how to get it already. Thanks
Yep, everything has worked so far (include IR). The rotation still does not work but it is not a problem. I can use an app to fix it. Now we just have to wait for cyanogenmod to release cm 12 (android 5.0) and it is perfect. Can't wait for project Volta. It makes my nexus 5 stand by battery lasts so long. Thanks a lot, OP.
I wish they could include multi window on cm althou they said they are not going to.... or custom rom based of cm with multi window would be nice

I'm rather happy using xHaloFloatingWindow (see usage instructions, in 2nd post) under Xposed Installer together with Floatifications
I installed this today, and I must say excellent job. Almost everything is working great. I only have one issue, Amazon Prime Instant Video app work great on the stock rom, but is incompatable running CM 11. Does anyone else use Prime? If so is there a work around? Thanks in advance.

v1 or v2?
Sorry for a bit of a silly question.....everything i have (twrp and cpu z apps) say i have a v2wifiue. However, when I try to install i get the error message that says it is a v1. I am not sure how to proceed. I have a tab pro sm t900 purchased in USA at best buy, again, thinking it is v2. Please advise, i am looking forward to this ROM. Thanks for all of your efforts.
----EDIT----
I went into the build prop just to see the fingerprint and build id(s) and it is all 100% V2. I hope this will help someone identify my problem. Thanks again
I installed this today and everything was working great for the inital setup. Upon trying to download and finalize all my app setups I started to have issues. Examples are google play music, bitdefender, and facebook for this part. Play music started downloading all the music fine till about half way, then got stuck. Bitdefender was successfully setup but when starting inital scan it got to 1% and doesnt get past it. Facebook opens up then autoloads my email in the username but when i try to type it locks up and crashes. Tried to get it to reboot and it also locked. Held power button till finally reset and when it started back up it auto started downloading songs. It downloaded a few songs again and then locked up again. Any ideas of what I can try to get this working better? Also anyone know of a keyboard that has a floating keyboard like the samsung one that we have on the 12.2? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Everything seems to work fine except tab hanging when left in stand by for more than an hour and playing with lid cover on n off several times I have to hard restart, did factory reset twice, any suggestions appreciated greatly.

I haven't had any similar problems. Did you do a clean install with wipe of data and cache? You could wipe cache from recovery and see if that helps.

What is Viper4Android?
Viper4Android is one of the best Audio Mods available for Android this is not out of opinion but of alot of other users not only Sony Device users but also users of other Android Smartphones. Very customizable with alot of options for you to tweak to suit your Audio Needs
If installed correctly and configured properly it can produce Audio far better than the default Audio Engine included in most Stock Roms
Sadly it has comptability problems with most Lollipop based Roms so until a new update is released this workaround should help

Requirements
- Rooted Device with Busybox Installed
-> Download Viper4Android 2.3.4.0 here
-> Download SELinux Mode Changer here
-> Proceed to Settings>Developer Options then Uncheck Use NUPlayer under Media. ( Crucial )
-> Install Viper4Android and install either the High Quality Audio Driver or the Super Audio Quality.
-> Open SELinux Mode Changer in select Permissive instead of Enforcing. ( Grant it Root Access if prompted )
-> Reboot and Enjoy. ( You may have to Set SELinux Mode Changer to permissive every after boot )
I can confirm this works on my Z3 Compact on Rooted FW 23.1.A.1.28, also works on my Z1C on Lollipop FW
Also important to turn off things like:
ClearAudio+
Sound Effects (all of them)
Dynamic normalizer
You can find them in
Settings-> Sound and Notifications

I uses NC31EM headset and it doesn't work because it stops to use V4A driver after 30s and then the Sony driver take the lead.
I found that if you froze the "sound settings" application it work. it is the case but it disables the Noise reduction of the headset.
Quote ...
You forgot some very important settings to make it work.
If you check the driver status with your settings ... everything enabled but the driver is not processing.
So please add the next 2 very important setting to make it work on z3c :
1. run in compatible mode (it's an option in menu)
2 . force enable v4a
after that you can check that is working. i dont think that your viper works without theese settings.
bye

System tuner pro provides it. The standard application manager of the phone provides it
Settings--> application --> all apps --> Sound settings --> disable
I use V4A from PlayStore which is mentioned by original developer as unofficial but working and it works fine with SELinux Mode Changer, too.
Thanks for the tutorial, @Revontheus!
@cbuctoc works with ClearAudio etc., no need to turn off anything @hekermaker no compatible mode or forcing needed
Maybe you both use an uncommon ROM version or something but none of the things you both experience seems to be something that's missing in OP - works fine here when following OP exactly, without forcing or disabling anything.
I am using a pre rooted rom, the 5.0.2 . I tried to use it with the instructions given by revontheus. Of course it "worked" , i repeat no errors or something. The driver is activated but not processing . After i forced etc. now the driver is processing too. The instructions were in a post for activating viper on android 5.1 Nexus.

Strange, for me it works without forcing, but I had to disable and enable it again. Well, most important thing is that it works at all.
You don't have to force enable Viper or use FX Compatible Mode when using my method

Selinux was permisive on every reboot, and at last try i got soft brick/bootloop 3,5 hours ago. Some minutes and clean system will boot and i will try again.
Install Viper> Install selinux mode changer and change to permissive> change to awesome player> update v. high quality and reboot= Processing Not working. Its because im using SLIM ? No any other sound mods installed.
Edit. I got it working, i don't know how but work. ??

If you mean Viper4android audio mod, then it works On Stock Lollipop but you have to first set SELinux mode to permissive as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-...ide-how-to-make-viper4android-fx-5-0-t3108989
In my experience you don't need to enable Awesome Player in Settings -> Developer options (on my Z5c i only need SELinux permissive).
Most important thing is to Enable SELinux permissive mode before installing and everytime you reboot the phone (or only when you want to use Viper features).
You can check Viper Driver state by going to viper -> 3dot button -> driver status . It should be "Normal".
I don't know if it works also on MM, you can try
its not woking for me. driver status tells me, that the driver is installed, using neon player, status normal, audio format supported BUT the processing says "no"
driver version 2.4.0.1

Hi. Thank you for sharing.
I have been running it for a few hours and I love all the additions of features and the Android TV look (I used Mi Box S before so I prefer this look)
I do have one problem though. On stock firmware, I was able to pass through the audio to my sound bar in kodi (this lets me listen to Dolby Atmos and other surround sound technologies). I tried everything on your rom to make it work but it doesn't seem to work at all.
What worked in stock firmware:
Droid settings - sound - switch it to manual - enable all the options and set DTS to 20%. Go to Kodi, go to Kodi audio settings and enable passthrough, then play a dolby Atmos or DTS file and my soundbar said "Dolby Atmos" or "DTS" whenever I played the respective file.
In your rom:
There are three settings apps. 1 is droid settings from stock firmware, 1 is aosp settings app from stock firmware and 1 is the new settings app with extra features.
I have tried changing the droid settings sound options like on stock firmware but that does not work. I have tried using the new settings apps sound options (tried manual, auto, always allow etc etc) and that does not work either. I'm unable to get passthrough audio.
I always get PCM, even in Atmos/Dolby Digital/DTS files. My sound bar supports all of these codecs, and the box can do passthrough audio as I have already tried it on the stock firmware.
It's possible that it's due to viper4android? But I have disabled the master switch in viper as well.
Sorry for the long post but I was trying to be as detailed as possible. Honestly, apart from this, I have zero issues with your rom. I wanted to use it as a daily driver but this sound output option is a big problem as I watch a lot of 4K movies with Atmos and DTS.
If anyone is considering this rom but don't care about the issue I'm having, go for it. There are no other issues in this rom and is easily a daily driver. Works very well and highly recommended from my end.

Yes exactly. You can restore it the same way, boot into TWRP and use the restore option.
Tried this rom on my TranSpeed 8K Ultra HD S905X3 box but it doesn't get passed the bootup logo. Had it on that screen for more than 15 mins. Am i missing something?

I believe this rom is specific to X96Air. I think the vendor is exclusive to this model and that's probably what's causing the issue on your box. I suppose you can try to flash slimbox over on the freaktab forums instead.
Thanks for this, I tried the slimbox rom already and it doesn't boot up all the way. The slimbox works better on my S905X2 box.

Download link is fine. I think OP did not enter the link properly as clicking it does not take you to a webpage.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/bullghostdroidtvos/files/release/
With this link and you should be able to download the ROM.

I don't think you can install TWRP on x96 air. But you can use the hinged TWRP to boot into TWRP whenever you want through the stock recovery.

Hi, owning this box, we can install TWRP in recovery by flashing with AmlogicFlasherV1.0 and the TWRP.img which is in the archive HERE, beware it will be ROOT before.
