Hi, can someone help me?...seems I can not get the 4G connection on this MOTO E. tried on Lumia 635, works fine, so problem was not at the end of AT&T.
anyway:
1. followed the post "How to"...got the ATT signal, can make calls, send/receive messages.
2. There is a ! after the signal bar, if wi-fi is off.
3. If connected to wi-fi and successfully get internet , a "H" will highlight up shortly first then become grey, stay there. no "!" anymore.
4. if connected to wi-fi, but not login into internet(for example, in those area asking web-based verification to get internet), the "H" will stay highlight, and "!" will remain at the end of the signal bar. After login in, "H" will become grey, "!" will disappear.
5. APN was set according to AT&T webpage.
Please Help!

I have recently purchased a viewpad 7. I have also enabled 3G services from my operator. Can somebody help me in the following:-
(a) How to start a video call?
(b) What will be the indication for 3G services running on the pad?
(c) Can someone show me a display of the screen with 3G services enabled?
What is your mobile operator (and country, if applicable) since we have users around the globe on this sub-forum?
Based in US, I've used a prepaid 3G Sim from AT&T (also, tested my China Mobile HK/China dual phone # prepaid Sim) and getting E(dge) or 2G+ voice/data services only along with much faster secured wifi (20GB broadband) - but I'm setup to use Google Voice for all voice calls.
Regardless, the upper right portion of the status bar (on top of the display) should show the "H" or "3G" symbol when data is active.
Try by going to Settings, Wireless & network settings and check your Mobile networks - check that Data is enabled (including roaming, if applicable) and that Network Mode is configured properly, also APN is set for MMS per your mobile operator specifications, etc. etc.
I'm doubtfull about its ability to easily take/make video calls over mobile network (possible & probably easier to configure over wifi - with the proper software as bandwidth needed could be part of the issues) - however, I could be mistaken & not fully up-to-date on this.
I am using BSNL network India. In the mobile network settings on enabling data, the download E symbol shows up on the top right with arrow marks. I am able to load/upload data but no video calls. The review says that video calls are possible with the viewpad 7. But how please help.....

note im with o2 in the uk, as for your other questions, to indicate you have a 3g signal, there will be a 3g icon next to the signal bar, in my case its a H as im connected to a HSDPA signal.

DOes it mean, your VP7 can not connect to internet via mobile/SIM module? I had the same problem with the latest official ROM from VS. I Had to install FM6-3350-0-1008-A01.nb0 which I have to find on this forum. Unfortunately I have lost Czech localization.
Yesterday, my phone was working fine. Today, I wake up and instead of showing H or E in my signal bar area, I just have the bars which are full.
I can send and receive texts, but no photos. No webpages are accessible, email won't sync etc. But I can still make and receive calls as well.
I'm running Neutrino V2.5. This morning I flashed the 36P radio (from 30P) in hopes that might help. Didn't change anything.
Not sure if any of this is needed but here it is anyway:
Signal Strength - 93dBm 10asu
Mobile Network Type - HSPA
Mobile Network State - Disconnected
Wifi is still working fine as well.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Luke
I'm experiencing the same issue. Not sure what's going on. I went into settings to search for available networks and it's been "Searching" for like 15 minutes. Behind the "Searching" dialog I can see two options for AT&T and looks like one for T-Mobile. If I try to press back to cancel the search, it just takes me back to the last screen. I've also tried resetting APN. ugh.
Check the APNs configurations you might have to set them again.
I read over Atrix Dev that there's a weird bug in Neutrino ROM 2.5 that remove the APNs.
Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names
Hope that helps
For some reason, I can't get 4G anymore, even when other people in my office (with VZW) are showing a strong signal. I have tried battery pulling, a simply power off/on, and even a restart. Doesn't fix it. My phone IS rooted. I can connect to wifi, but I can't get a data connection when it is off.
So right now, all I have is voice without Wifi. When I send or receive an MMS, the 4G icon will display in the notification area, then disappear when the download is complete.
Can anyone help me? I don't know what to do to get it back.
I have VZW with Unlimited Data
Thank you in advance!

Well, I ended up calling Verizon and after having them search on their internal forums, they figured out the issue. Apparently, I changed the "Access Point Name" to something else other than "VZWINTERNET" and I lost complete access to all data networks (EVDO, 3G, 4G).
So, because I hate it when I find a post that has a problem I'm having, and the original poster says "I'll call Verizon and write the solution here when I get it" and you never hear back from them, I'm going to post my solution for the next guy.
Basically, the Access Point Names option is under Settings > Connections Tab > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names. It should display only one option, and it should say "LTE - Verizon Internet", and under it, it should display "VZWINTERNET". If you change this value, by clicking on it, you go to another screen that says "Edit Access Point" at the top. You can change only one thing, and that is the APN name.
DO NOT CHANGE THIS VALUE. If it is anything other than "VZWINTERNET", you will lose all data access completely, that is, unless you're doing something Advanced that requires you to change it, and you know what you're doing. Also, if you factory reset the phone, it WILL NOT change this value back to the default. It will stay the same...so...something to think about.
In any case, I hope this helps the next guy with the same problem.
Hi!
I have Motorola Razr XT910K, and I am from the Philippines. I have been using the phone for almost a week now and it seems like it won't connect to mobile internet. I got the APN settings saved on the phone and the settings were pushed by the provider. I turned on the Mobile Data, also i checked data roaming as well. I already selected and enabled the APN that was pushed by my provider.
Here's what is going on: when I turn off the data, the "H" is seen beside the signal bars icon but there is a red circle with a slash which means data is turned off. But when i turn the mobile data on, the "H" disappears and only the signal bars icon is left, aside of course from the time and other icons on my notif bar.
Can anyone please help me on this?
My phone is not rooted, running official 4.0.4 ICS.
my mobile network state is either just connecting or disconnected.
I tried to use my sim with another phone and it can connect to the internet.
I don't if i just missed one setting on the phone.

I just got the same problem earlier today, and solve at the end, below is my procedure, just for your reference.
Try "Settings" > "More" > "Mobile networks" > "Access Point Names", and delete those APN(s) that your are not using.
You may also want to try to search APN auto set up in the play store.
my 2 cents
Hey guys, I have a T-Mobile branded Galaxy S5 (SM-G900T) that I'm using on Metro PCS and whenever I connect to wifi I can't receive mms messages. I will get the text and it will ask me to download the image but then I get a never ending progress bar. So then I'll turn off WiFi and I will have bars but the 4G LTE indicator will be gone and the only way to get it back is to reboot the phone. Any ideas as to what this could be? I have tried using both the T-Mobile & Metro PCS APN settings but the issue still happens no mattter which APN the phone is set to. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

No ROM, it's stock.
wifi calling enabled and set to only make calls on wifi?
This will happen when you have wifi calling enabled. That is why you see the cell signal bars go gray or grayed out. Turn off wifi calling and you will see you signal bars come back, as long as you have cell signal (service) at your house.

Having WiFi calling enabled won't affect your data and messaging at all unless there is a connection issue with the router.

It sounds like a connectivity issue on the routers side if the APNs are correct. I would go back to Metro PCS APNs then check your signal strenth and link speed in the phones WiFi settings, then check to make sure WiFi calling does not display an error in the call settings. If all 3 are good then check your client list on router and make sure phones IP address and MAC id is there. If IP and MAC id are good run diag log on router and possibly change/test different wireless channels on your router.
I never have WiFi calling enabled so I don't see that as a cause, and I have tried both the MetroPCS and T-Mobile APN settings and it still happens. I'm still able to receive calls and send text messages but I can't receive MMS messages or access data. The only way to fix the issue is to turn on airplane mode for about 10 seconds and then turn it off and I get the 4GLTE signal indicator back along with full service. Its really weird because when this happens, I still have a signal indicator with 3-4 bars but the only the 4GLTE indicator disappears.

I will get the same issue as stated above. When you have bars present with no data icon, its because your phone is latching on to another network when MetroPCS is not to be found. At my office, T-Mobile service is the pits, yet i get bars present. I usually open the dialer and type *#0011# and it will show what band your phone is picking up, from there you can tell if you are really on MetroPCS or someone elses network.
