[Q] Rooting without a PC - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I'm at a remote location with very limited access so searching has been tough.
Is there a method to root android 5.0 without a pc? (I know towelroot doesn't work anymore)
Appreciate any replies.

Do you have twrp installed already? If so, you can flash the superSU zip.

i'm having a weird issue

i just bought a samsung galaxy legend which was recently released the first week of this month (october) by verizon and have been trying all different methods to root this phone with no luck. i finally think i have found out why i have been having issues. my phone does not go into debug mode when plugged in the pc. now i have all the options correctly checked. the developer options are turned on and the debug mode is enabled. i have tried 4 different cables, 4 different computers all ranging from win xp all the way to win 8. updated all drivers, and even tapped on the build number multiple times. any other suggestions would be very helpful. thank you very much in advance.
Try Framaroot.
I have tried that didn't work. I am sorry I forgot to say I'm running Android 4.1.2. I'm about done trying to figure this issue out. This would have been my 6th rooted phone.

[Q] How to root LG G2 (LS980ZVD) Android 4.4.2 no computer ?

How do I root this with no computer ?
Is there any apps that work with this phone ?
I read about z4 root , framaroot, and some others.
Which ones worked on this kind of phone without
any problems of bricking it during the root ?
This phone is from Sprint.
Does anyone have an answer ?

have you done it on this phone ? Could having more than one
Home launchers installed do anything bad during or affer root ?
Would having certain apps brick my device after root finishes if I do
something wrong ? I don't know how soft brick or hard brick works
or what causes them. I bricked one tablet when I tried changing
device id and reinstalled the fiemware to unbrick it.
I don't want to do something to mess up my phone.

No I have an S3 but after reading I see people have success with towelroot across the board. Root has nothing to do with launchers. Basically hard and soft bricks are caused by people not following directions or rooting a phone or tablet that no one has before. I do understand your concern

I haven't rooted my phone yet. if I get an update for phone software
could it brick my phone if I don't remove root first ? Someone said it bricked
the phone with root during android update. I'm still looking
at some things before I try root my phone. is there a way to put the android
lg g2 software onto a memory card to connect with usb to fix phone without
computer if I bricked it with no computer ? This phone don't have a sd card place.

No it won't brick your phone however with a new update depending on the carrier it would remove the ability for root with an update. I don't know if your in or outside the US

Im in the U.S.
After getting root while trying to update binaries of superSU or superuser
it says failed. What do I do to fix it ? I haven't turned off or restarted phone since I used the root app.
I messed something up with my data yesterday when trying to change some things. I wasn't able to use internet through most apps except YouTube app for videos. I removed root files and apps and restarted then factory reset. Then rooted again the same app and the SuperSU binaries were installed.

Experience root with King root

Boys wanted to experience about the root with kingroot, there is someone who has done it? And if you, someone doing unroot with the same application has managed to update it without problems? ... Thank you to those who can give me information about it

King root sucks. And it can be hard to fully remove it again
Rather root with chainfire's SuperSU
but I, I do not want to unlock the bootloader ... I would do the only root for some applications
Sent from my PLK-L01 using XDA Free mobile app
Then try king root. But definitely replace it with SuperSU, there are good explanations how to do that all over the place
but to me it is also interested in how to remove the root, for official updates
Sent from my PLK-L01 using XDA Free mobile app
For that you should replace king root with SuperSU, it's in the app possible to remove SuperSU easily
Please don't use kingroot as it's very difficult to remove. It really sticks to the system. There's a wide range of cases of people deeply regretting installed kingroot.
And you need always to unlock the bootloader. There is no known root method without it. But unless you need unrooted apps like homebanking you'll be fine.
Use supersu. Period!

If you don't want to unlock the bootloader, then use Kingroot. If you wanna receive OTAs, use SuperSU. Choose one.

but because, with Kingroot I can no longer receive the OTA updates, even if I do the 'unroot?

Save yourself from trouble and go with supersu.
To install OTA you just need to go to app and remove root option. Even in some Huawei models you don't need to unroot.

Since Kingroot is very hard to remove, you might want to reflash in fastboot to be safe.

There was some cases where flashing boot partition was not enough to remove kingroot.
Factory reset also doesn't help.
Ok thank you so much... I think will not do the root on generally...

You can do it, it's very much safe. Just don't go with kingroot.
I had and have all my devices rooted, even Sony (very difficult) and never had any annoyance, except some banking and transport apps not compatible with root.
Overall I recommend a lot.

Unroot at Supersu app. There's an option there.
Flash original boot.img and recovery.img via ADB. Only seems difficult the first time, then it's a walk in the park.
Overall you spend months without having to do so as updates are not frequent.
the problem is I have a Mac as a computer, and all these programs are not all compatible

The only thing you need from the mac side is Google or Huawei drivers and ADB installed. There are various tutorials for these.
Also Mac already have a terminal emulator to run ADB commands. It's easy. Go and install drivers and ADB. Then connect phone to Mac, after selecting debugging option in developer options in phone settings. Turn off phone. Press vol- and power until screen comes on.
Run fastboot device command in ADB terminal and post here the results.

MobileGo expired, can't root?

I had to restore my phone. I'm trying to re-root it. I used MobileGo to root the first time about 1 month ago. I've uninstalled, stopped the service they leave behind. Then hunted down and deleted the 3 directories they leave behind as well after uninstalling. Then I scrub my registry with ccleaner.
No matter what I try it continues to say it's expired. Anyone know whats up? Maybe a way around this?
The only alternative I know of is to use Kingroot. But when I goto the linked page to download the desktop app it always fails.
Is there another way to gain root for my sch-i545 of1 android version 5.0.1 phone?
Every root variation I seemto find using search either lists kingroot or MobileGo. As stated i cant currently use either. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
