No bootloop because of the recovery?
Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
through trial and error, it seems like superSU causes the botloop (every time I try to install that it does the bootloop)
Last question will this wipe my internal SD or just wipe the /data partition?
Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
Flashed this, seems to work except I get a No SIM error.
Doesnt wipe internal storage, but no matter how many times I flash, I get invalid sim error. A quick twrp restore to 5.0 and all is good again.

No, it's the supersu files which cause the bootloop. Having a custom recovery does not cause any issues.
I've got the latest twrp installed. It's running fine here. Once a supersu is avail that works with I'll flash and continue on my way.
Had anyone tried flashing UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip from twrp? Read this as a guide for a nexus 5...

Unless you took the full update. Custom recovery and su causes bootloops.
I used odin to flash the entire firmware and then proceeded to install TWRP. Works fine for me.

Sure twrp is still installed? If you just flashed twrp and rebooted chances are twrp got over written by stock on reboot. Because nobody else has been able to

Go to this link on YouTube https://youtu.be/6IxDrvpK_Po
and flash the TWRP that is provided in the video description. I use it and I am able to backup my Roms and restore them successfully. I also installed RR 5.7.4 because it is the only ROM that i know where my camera and fingerprint sensor works flawlessly along with AGNi kernel.

sorry bro, I do not have an encrypted password for my custom recovery to be used.
Just wipe out all Data i.e, format phone and Flash Rom........Successfully Boot to CM 13.
I wanted to update the OS of my i5500. I first tried the method here but the phone got stuck in bootloop. Then, I attempted to install the version here. Still bootloop. Can you guys help me? I can't use my phone anymore.
Flash the recovery (CWM) again and format /system , /data and /cache . Then flash the packages mentioned in the second link (which is better than the first, if you ask me).

Try flashing CM11 from madteam.co
I'm having difficulty finding the right version of CM11 for my phone since madteam.co is inaccessable due to database errors. Do you know somewhere else I can download it?

I did not understand how to use recovery-clockworkmod-6.0.5.2 so I tried installing with ClockworkMod-Galaxy5-v0.7 . Most likely that is why it failed.
What am I supposed to do with recovery-clockworkmod-6.0.5.2 file? It's not in .tar format so Odin does not accept it. The page is not in English and I did not understand.

It's flashable. Flash it in recovery. Then reboot into recovery (so that the new recovery gets loaded).
Also, you have to flash it in order to able to use the ROM.

You have an old CWM. Using that old CWM install the flashable zip of the new CWM then reboot. Simple

Thanks. When you put it that way I understood clearly.
I installed CM11 and this time instead of the word Android the Cyanogenmod logo appeared and for a second I thought it really worked. Then, the scumbag phone decided to go into a bootloop.

I wiped data, wiped cache, and wiped dalvik cache all BEFORE flashing the ROM. I was supposed to do it after? Wouldn't that delete the installed data of the ROM?
I tried wiping data AFTER flashing the ROM. It bootloops the exact same way.

forget to update. yes, beta version works fine. forget that P only works with v19
Does it work with the Global version?
All 3 files seems to be for the China version.

It works. CN just means the language and the origin. For some reason my data keeps getting encrypted after each reboot
can we perform backup and restore with this TWRP?
Tested backup of data, system and boot partitions working ok with 0421.
Haven't tested restore.

Does anyone know of which files to make a backup from, in order to have a full working rom? There are so many files!
And what about this encryption tab in backup, what's that for?

The encryption tab is an optional feature if you want to encrypt the backup files generated with a password - much like adding a password to a zip file.
For which partitions to backup to save a full working ROM - see https://twrp.me/faq/whattobackup.html however I haven't tested for MIUI 10/Android Pie on the 9SE.
Did someone successfully restore a backup made with this recovery?
For anyone having issues with flashing. Try disconnecting the cable after flashing and boot into recovery with power + vol up. I am running on stable eu rom with magisk now. Seems to work smoothly

Did you solve the problem? Cause I have the same on my Redmi 5 Plus and it's VERY annoying. I must format data everytime I want to flash a zip file, or I get an error message. I was planning to buy this phone but the lack of community support scares me quite a bit.

But the recovery doesn't ask me for any pin or pattern.
I flashed twrp recovery and all seems good but when i try to boot into twrp there is always still the stock recovery. I tried also with 2 different fastboot but nothing changes. What i need to do ?
when the recovery is flashed, instead of rebooting device when in fastboot mode, just press vol+and power button

I boot up MIUI normally first. Then set a PIN, then reboot into fastboot and flash TWRP. After that I get a prompt
