forget to update. yes, beta version works fine. forget that P only works with v19
Does it work with the Global version?
All 3 files seems to be for the China version.

It works. CN just means the language and the origin. For some reason my data keeps getting encrypted after each reboot
can we perform backup and restore with this TWRP?
Tested backup of data, system and boot partitions working ok with 0421.
Haven't tested restore.

Does anyone know of which files to make a backup from, in order to have a full working rom? There are so many files!
And what about this encryption tab in backup, what's that for?

The encryption tab is an optional feature if you want to encrypt the backup files generated with a password - much like adding a password to a zip file.
For which partitions to backup to save a full working ROM - see https://twrp.me/faq/whattobackup.html however I haven't tested for MIUI 10/Android Pie on the 9SE.
Did someone successfully restore a backup made with this recovery?
For anyone having issues with flashing. Try disconnecting the cable after flashing and boot into recovery with power + vol up. I am running on stable eu rom with magisk now. Seems to work smoothly

Did you solve the problem? Cause I have the same on my Redmi 5 Plus and it's VERY annoying. I must format data everytime I want to flash a zip file, or I get an error message. I was planning to buy this phone but the lack of community support scares me quite a bit.

But the recovery doesn't ask me for any pin or pattern.
I flashed twrp recovery and all seems good but when i try to boot into twrp there is always still the stock recovery. I tried also with 2 different fastboot but nothing changes. What i need to do ?
when the recovery is flashed, instead of rebooting device when in fastboot mode, just press vol+and power button

I boot up MIUI normally first. Then set a PIN, then reboot into fastboot and flash TWRP. After that I get a prompt

Fix soft-bricked Mate 2 (MT2-L03) phone using TWRP
If you messed up the phone and it came to a state that phone can not boot into android, if you have TWRP installed and have a backup, then you know how to fix that easily.
But if you don't have your own backup, I have upload my system partition so hopefully you can use this to restore your phone. The backup is taken very close to stock, and it is rooted with SuperSU installed.
BTW, there is a "safe mode" boot method, so try that before using twrp recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/asc...ted-amazon-app-store-stuck-boot-loop-t2872628 (post 6 and 7)
Steps to Restore you phone if all other ways failed:1. Your MT2-L03 need have bootloader unlocked, and TWRP recovery installed properly. Even your phone is soft bricked, as long as you can boot into bootloader mode, you can still unlock bootloader and install twrp recovery.Unlock bootloader: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-mate2/general/progress-rooting-ham2-t2867975
Install twrp: http://forum.xda-developers.com/asc.../2014-09-22-teamwin-recovery-project-t28851442. Boot into twrp recovery and select "System" partition only, and backup it to your external storage (yes, I know your system partition is bad, this step is to create proper twrp backup directory)
3. Download following file to your PC, unzip it.http://tinyurl.com/qzxkm4x
FileName: TWRP_BACKUPS_stock-system-with-root.zip4. Turn off phone and take out your SD card out and plug into PC, then navigate to following directory under the SDCARD: \TWRP\BACKUPS\xxxxx, the xxxxx is a string that different in each phone
5. Copy all the files unzipped from step 3 to above location. overwrite any files with same name.
6. Put back the SDcard to the phone, and boot into TWRP recovery.
7. Choose restore, select the only entry that you did the backup, and select "System" only, perform the restore.
8. Wipe your dalvik cache, cache.
9. Then reboot.
10. If you still have problem, boot into recovery again, and wipe /data parition as well (Factory Reset).Download the MT2-L03 backup here:
http://tinyurl.com/qzxkm4x
FileName: TWRP_BACKUPS_stock-system-with-root.zip
And thanks @dbmj unlock bootloader, @Modding.MyMind build twrp recovery, and @D33PTHAWTE confirmation that this fixed his phone.
Glad you got this posted. This will be very vital to many people down the road. And great work on giving instructions to create a backup for the simplicity of automating the needed directories for usage of the actual shared backup. Thumbs up bro.
@D33PTHAWTE, welcome back
For everyone not getting TWRP to work I have done it on 3 HAM2s and all work try this.
1.flash this stock recovery https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B-nJFDpWA4MdVjhEYzU3TXlMZ0U&usp=sharing
2.even if you have your own use that because I know that works and I dont know what yours is.
3.boot into the recovery and make sure that its the stock recovery and its working.
4. restart the phone 2 or 3 times to be safe
5. flash using twrp using 15 second ADB installer.
Has anyone followed thoes steps and that recovery above? (not your own) if not try that and let me know. take a screen shot of what ADB is showing you so I can see that TWRP was successfully installed. Starting at square one. Flash twrp and show me its flashed.

Hi, I have seen these issues pretty frequent recently that:
1) /cust partition is not covered in this TWRP backup, so after restore, you may still got facebook app mismatch failure when upgrade.
2) Even after a successful OTA upgrade, many people (include myself) met problem to reflash the TWRP image.
So, give me a few days, I think I can make a flashable zip that has latest (B148) stock ROM with root, probably this weekend.

This is a clean Stock ROM (flashable zip) with Root after upgrade to B148 for MT2L03.
It should only be used for plain carrier unlocked Huawei MT2-L03. Other varies (carrier locked) MT2L03 is un-tested and may brick your phone.
This ROM include /cust, /firmware, /system and /boot partition.
The official B148 update also contains update to SBL1/ABoot/TZ/RPM partition, they are not included due to risk concern.
I didn't fully test this ROM, I just pickup the image from my early backups. I installed it to my already updated phone and boot up fine. So please try it and let me know if you see any problems.
Working great for me! thank you, fixed all my problems.

This is a test and that will trip KNOX.... So you have been warned about all possible consequences. I am not responsible of anything that can happens to your device.
Please test and report.
I will try to update with new firmwares from Samsung but I am moving to MM with Temaseks CM 13 Rom, Multiwindows works well and Pen support is good, only miss SNote. I like MM very much and N will sure be great.... I don't think Samsung will update our tablet.
Latest firmware from Samsung P600XXUDPD1

Get rid of Setup Wizard After first boot you go directly to Home Screen.
SuperSU 2.67 beta that should patch Boot.
Multi Windows quad view.
Add new Power Menu need Xposed
Bugs:
Easy Chart FC
Dont forget to install languages to get Action Memo working and pen writing recognition.
Problem with SD card install Folder mount and run it, it will fix the issues
Backup you existing config with TWRP 2.8.7.0 on ExtSd card
(Flash stock rom with odin to get new bootloader) Not sure about that, should be tested on untouched 4.4.2 system and I dont have one as new SuperSU should patch the boot.img.
Flash TWRP (I recommend the last @joshdroid that allow touch screen to work. https://s.basketbuild.com/devs/Joshndroid/TWRP/lt03wifi).
Reboot in Recovery, Power off then push Power and volume up for 3 seconds, release buttons. Wait until TWRP load.
Factory reset and wipe all but SDext, format data.
Flash the ROM in recovery with TWRP 2.8.7.0. After flashing if TWRP ask to fix root, DO NOT INSTALL!
This is a beta version and should work fine with patched bootloader or unpatched bootloader but I am not sure, please report on success or failures.
Xposed beta version for 5.1.1 works perfectly.
Thanks to @joshdroid for TWRP with touchscreen
@SuperR for Kitchen
@karthikrr that lead the way for patched boot
and others that help testing
BTW: There is a test kernel Z1 by @xluco that works very well test 5.1.1 You can flash it with Flashify or TWRP

It should flash, often you have to format data
What version of TWRP you have? Should be 2.8.7.0
Did you backup with TWRP on your SD ext card? If yes you can restore in TWRP
Did you format /data? writing yes when TWRP ask?
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-P600/ with ODIN, there is no zip files now only my rom I think.
I have twrp 2870 I formated everything but internal storage. It flashed but after the Samsung boot screen the screen goes black and nothing happens after that. Is the latest firmware 4.4.2 for our device?
I dont know if you wait long enough. First boot is very long.5 10mn possible. Now if you are comming from 4.4.2 try to flash original 5.1.1 from Samsung with odin, flash TWRP and flash the rom.
Nobody report yet on flashing result bedide you.

For what I know, if you boot into twrp via fastboot, it will be encrypted back to stock recovery if you don't install the force encryption disabler.
Meaning that, this force encryption disabler is to help to keep the twrp recovery.

Well, There's no good and bad when you still can boot as per normal, just that the recovery will be different, either twrp or stock though...
Use the one with working decryption so you don't have to worry about it. Forget every other Recovery and the Encryption Disabler, it just makes things complicated and it's an out-of-date work around for other Recovery's which aren't fixed yet.
If you use official MIUI then you will need to reflash or boot TWRP again if you want to use it, because stock Recovery will replace TWRP when you boot official MIUI. This isn't so bad because it keeps OTA working (unless you flashed Magisk of course, which will need to be uninstalled first before OTA).

You can dirty flash the recovery over the one you currently have, it won't affect your phone at all. Keep in mind though that your device will stay decrypted, you'll have to encrypt it manually via the phone settings.

so refreshing to know. The only thing that haunts is boot loop to which we non-tech guys are afraid of and technical guys assume that every one knows the basics and hence the confusion occurs as no clear guide becomes available in new days of any mobile launch waiting a noob friendly thread for poco which might explain these in an order but thanx for the time you took to clear a bit

The simplest option for u is to download twrp with working encryption.
Dont flash it , just boot into recovery by fastboot command thru adb.
Flash whatever u want to and once done flashing , reboot and u will boot with stock recovery. That way for stock roms u can update via OTA also.
There's a thread in Q&A , will post the link in some time , would suggest u read it.

Now I am still using the version that needs the disabler, can I just reflash the new twrp file, clear dalvik cache?

That's the only one last I checked, yes that's it.
You will need to reflash stock ROM (actually just vendor) if you want to enable encryption enforcement again in your ROM.

Hmm..
My current info:
Mini 9.6.25
Twrp (need to flash with Force encryption Disabler)
So here's my step to do:
Download the twrp with decryption enabled.
Download same stock rom.
Flash the stock rom
Flash the new twrp I downloaded.
That's all?
Will it be asking for password and stuff? Because as I know if it happens, I need to wipe data, right?
Another scenario, if I am going to flash miui 10 beta or stable in the future, I need to wipe data to get it work after flash?
so i installed the latest update and now recovery mode no longer works. AT ALL. cant flash, boot or access it at all now.

that worked :good:
for some reason my usual "twrp-3.2.3-10-cepheus-mauronofrio.img"
is no longer working despite it working fine for every other update. ( i notice that the rom said android security patch) in the changelog) i wonder if that changed anything
Are you able to get Magisk working with this ROM ? I can't get Magisk to work. When I flash Magisk the phone boot but the launcher doesn't appear and I can't launch any application.
I tried to flash previous ROM version but I have a recovery loop when I boot.
Do someone else experience the same and have found a solution ?
@xdarkmario i think something changed with last beta of miui eu - till 9.4.25 it was fully functional by me too ) @widze i am working with magisk 19 - if u make fresh install and use magisk from here, it should work - at least mine is and i didnot do anything like dirt flash - only instaled via twrp

So I udersstand that it's working for you. I did a dirty flash but without backup support in recoveries, I can't do factory reset...
backup support in recoveries - u mean backup in twrp :? its not functional in any twrp beta for mi9 (actually), the factory reset i can do withou problem - so u go to twrp and there u choose factory reset, swipe left on it and...what ?

And I don't want to lost my data... I will wait for another version of Magisk or EU Rom and hope it will be fix.
I dont understand - u Want to do factory reset without loosing data ?
And you think, that solution is in backup in recovery?
If u make backup in twrp = u get img of your phone in actually state 1:1
So if u recover the backup = u get data in phone in same state as It was before = like there was no reset
Is not the solution in use titanium backup ?
