Question about number 8
I recently had to revert back to stock and mistakenly chose the root66 4.1.1 rom. I'd really like to get to VRAMC3 because i can't seem to get my bootloader unlocked (trying to get into recovery brings me to a not custom recovery) and I would like to get to the VRAMC3 4.1.2 ROM. Being on the root66 rom means that I'm rooted but i dont' think my bootloader is unlocked. would placing the recovery file on the root of my sd card mentioned in the OP help my situation or hurt it?
got a new note with latest firmware
I got this note 2 with VRUFND7 im pretty sure that's bad. what are my options? I would like to root it just so ican tether. I have unlimited data plan and would like to continue to use it. if there is any option besides foxfi that does not require you to lock your phone that would be great. That is really the only reason I want to root. any chance there will be an update soon to get around the locked boot loader?

No root method for ND7. Also, more than likely there won't be a bootloader upon method.
I have a SCH-I605 on ND7 with 4G. The service sucks. Prior to this, I had a SCH-R950 flashed to PagePlus with 3G and I got way better reception. My question is, how can I improve my 4G reception? Is there a updated radio file that I can flash?

ND7 is newest and I have great signal. 3g and 4g are too different things. Maybe try switching to 3g only and see if you get good signal.

Yes just flash the zip. No other steps.
I was wondering if there was a way to flash AT&T ROM to work on the verizon model. I know how to flash international Roms but not AT&T.
For example, currently I am running Echoe 32.1 (International version), but when I try to flash Goldenfinger (AT&T) my phone calls work but I get no SMS or data.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!
Someone with ROM building (from source or porting) experience can better explain this, but the simplest answer is that because the frequencies that AT&T and T-Mobile operate on differ from those of Verizon and Sprint (typically). So the ROM you are trying to use has different radio drivers for frequencies your phone doesn't use, which results in most or all your antennas to not function. I know that at the very least you need to modify the ROM to utilize the Verizon radios. There may also be some system configurations to be altered in the install of the ROM so it's instructed to use the right frequencies, though a more qualified individual will need to verify that.
Hope that gives you a general idea.

This patch can be used to flash roms from international and other carriers. It has an aroma installer allowing to decide how much Verizon stuff you want to install, anywhere from just the APN's to the full phone & messaging apk's. Read the OP and thread to understand which patch to use and how to use it.

And I just realized I forgot to put in the OP that im on Safestrap

Yeah, unfortunately things have been weird with that patch lately. It's a mix of the dev not having time to update while everything has been getting significant updates pretty quickly and lost user interest overall. I've used that patch with AT&T roms before, but admittedly not since Jelly Bean. It should theoretically work still, but there's other variables you have to consider. All I can say is that if you're really interested in running one of those roms, read through the patch thread to see what particular aroma settings and additional zips, etc. people are using to get those roms to boot.
And Safestrap users can use that patch too. I would PM @shindiggity for assistance. He seems like a helpful guy and he uses that patch on Safestrap.

Thank you for all your help! Im gonna PM him and read through the thread and if and when I find a solution, I will post it here.
I've flashed Goldfinger and it does work. These are the steps that I do. Flash rom, patch, signal bar fix, modules and finally SU. In the patch I select minimal and everything else I leave pre selected. First boot does take a couple minutes. Let me know if that works.

Q&A for [ROM] 100% Stock I545_OC1 - 5.0.1 (MDK)
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [ROM] 100% Stock I545_OC1 - 5.0.1 (MDK). If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Installing ROM's
I was wondering since the OTA update that gave Galaxy S4 Verizon users Lollipop, is it possible to install this ROM and then download Cyanogenmod? I'm wondering this because there is Loki in this ROM and as far as I know Loki allows you to install any ROM. Correct me if I'm wrong. Also does flashing this ROM give root access, or is there a separate thread for that? Thanks.
Can I just use CWM recovery to flash this and is there any extra steps that I need to do other than the normal that I usually do when flashing Roms. Im on VRUAMDK bootloader and MDK baseband with CWM version 6.0.4 running Hyperdrive rls 21

If your bootloader is not the MDK version the answer is no. Any bootloader after MDK cannot be exploited with loki. If you don't know which boolloader you have type "getprop ro.bootloader" from within a terminal emulator and the results will tell you.
Okay... So I will respectfully move this question from the main thread of the ROM to here.
Has anyone successfully completed a Tap-n-Pay transaction using Google Wallet?
I am not able to have the reader even recognize the 'tap' much less get to the 'pay'. But on OctOL, I am able to complete these same transactions.

So I have a Note II for my work phone and I just turned on SBeam and transferred a file both directions between the two phones... so I guess it is, in fact, a Google Wallet problem, not a phone/kernel problem. At least on the surface anyway.
Thanks, again for the help.
At least you know NFC can work with the ROM in some applications.
Well... I tried it again and it still will not work with Google Wallet.
Bummer.
Any chance that the kernel posted by Surge might have a tweak that can help with the nfc?
I did go back and confirm that the OctOL Lollipop ROM works flawlessly and actually communicates the transaction more quickly than the TW based Hyperdrive ROM.
Transparent Accuweather Widget
Running MDK. Flashed w/TWRP no problems. But I miss the Transparent Accuweather. Tried flashing a couple mods to no avail. Has anyone installed transparent Accuweather mod with this stock rom? Thanx in advance.
Root
Is there a method to root after flashing the stock ROM? I've been looking but I can't find it.

The flashfire link says that there is no beta. Is there another link to use or something else that can be done to install Flashfire?
If you're on 5.0.1 stock unrooted, then you're currently out of luck, I believe, no root/roll-back method.
Anyone Else have problems with overheating?
So I am on MDK rooted flashed TWRP after I flashed this rom. Everything is running smoothly however when I use Bluetooth streaming music in my car and navigation the phone gets extremely hot to the point where I get a cooling down error message. Once that happens the phone goes into closing applications and then eventually gets warm enough to shut down. So at first I thought kernel issue, tried with the Hulk kernel same result. Even on different roms such as Dan's GPE lollipop, the phone heats up and shuts down. I have ODIN back to MDK using a .pit file and NAND erased all on this phone and still the heat has been an issue.
i know its common with these phones to overheat, so I contacted Verizon and had two replacements sent which one was running NG6 and the other OC1. Both overheated and shut down doing the same thing as the MDK baseband phone I originally had. Anybody have any similar situation, or have an idea about what I should try to keep these phones from overheating? As a a side note the phones bloat apps were frozen on the replacements as best I could since neither were rooted. I don't know what I should do since I need the phone for navigation and I don't have an upgrade since I still have unlimited data, and seeing as the replacements are all acting the same, that doesn't leave me too many options with getting a phone that actually works.
Thanks for any help and advise on what I should do.

Known issues - none = wrong!
There is a very major issue. Non MDK users cannot install Viper4Android because SELinux mode cannot be changed to permissive. Spent all day getting this rom installed and working out the kinks only to find out that Viper4Android cannot be installed due to stock kernel SELinux mode not being able to be changed to permissive.
Nevermind I found fix

Tether Mod Deodex?
I couldn't find the answer to this on the main thread or here - last night when I tried to flash the tether mod over the top of the standard rooted-odexed ROM, the phone booted up and immediately started throwing System errors. I was able to factory reset back to stock, but the tether mod obviously didn't work. Does that mod need to be flashed over the deodexed version of this ROM to work? If not, any other ideas on how to make the tether mod work?

I have done an extensive search before posting yet I cannot find the latest stock rom for the Verizon Wireless HTC One Max version 3.09.605.3. There was a few fixes to the fingerprint scanner and a Google security patch. Recent developments have shown a potential threat to most devices known as "stagefright" .
I am curious as to whether or not the security patch was indeed a counter measure for the stagefright threat. When I downloaded the current detector app from lookout security it states that my current device is vulnerable to it. It also stated that if I get a request to update my firmware from my provider that I should accept it immediately. I am currently running the Lollipop Sense 6 rom by flyhalf.
The latest stock rom I can find in the development threads is 3.09.605.2 and not 3.09.605.3.
If a developer is able and willing to do so, will they please post a stock, rooted rom with a working mobile hotspot please. I am concerned for both my privacy and my security with my device and would like to keep it running smoothly as possible.
As far as I know Verizon has not pushed a stagefreight fix for the one Max yet. In the mean time I'd suggest shutting off auto retrieve of mms. The app will still show vulnerable but you will be preventing unknown mms from being downloaded
Have you looked here? Looks like the 3.09.605.3 zip was posted 7-30-15 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2768021

Ah I see. I did search that and find the thread you mentioned. However, I saw when reading through it that the downloads available only went up to 3.09.605.2. I did not notice a direct download link to the stock rooted 3.09.605.3 file. Apparently I missed it in there. Does that particular rom happen to have a working mobile hotspot? I see later in the OP that there are a few mods in place to get the flashlight app and extreme power saver mode but not the mobile hotspot. Perhaps it is located further in the thread.
There are, however, a few anomalies in the OP that may make people stray away from it. The screenshot posted shows 3.09.605.2 and not 3.09.605.3. Also the rom OS is shown as stable 2.3x Gingerbread and not KitKat. It may be confusing to the average end user, such a as myself.
I will do more extensive reading of the thread. I am aware that the mobile hotspot is a simple modification of two or three entries that make it possible yet I cannot yet find the directions to make it possible. I welcome any and all replies and PM's to educate me in the process.
I'm sure that this thread will not be left up much longer for discussion once the corrections to the OP have been made and I apologize in advance for the misdirected request.

No. 100% stock! I just changed that OP as soon as I posted. I haven't had time to put out a deodexed modded rom yet. Give me time today.

I went back to full stock using initial firmware RUU, then let Verizon do the updates to 605.3 on its own. Then flashed TWRP, reinstalled SuperSU, then edited the tethering guard rules from 1 to 0 and rebooted.
Pure stock rooted with hotspot. Close the thread please moderators. Thank you fly for your help.
I have an old galaxy s 4 from Verizon that I gave my mom. Since then I moved her number and my number to tmobile. She is having many issues with calls dropping and freezing. Can someone please tell me which firmware I can use for her phone ? I want something that is more compatible with tmobile and without the Verizon bloatware. Not rooted or themed. Just basic stock will do. Thanks guys.

You mean basic Samsung stock? That's Verizon stock and will have bloatware. To get rid of bloatware you will need root. I'm on the bootloader with GPL1 at the end (the latest firmware) and I used it with my AT&T SIM card no problem. Your mom's phone might just need a data factory reset, a firmware update, or you need to set the APN settings for T-Mobile.

After looking for a while I haven't found anything debloated except for custom roms but I think my mom will have a hard time learning what everything does. I guess I'll do it the hard way. Find a list of apps I can remove and do it myself. I'm going to try installing a fresh copy of the latest verizon software and remove all the useless apps. Remove the awful bootscreen and enter in the tmobile settings myself. How is it running for you? Do you have any dropped calls and freezing? That's what I'm most concerned about. Lol

I believe that you should be searching for a "TW" ROM for the I545...
TW ROM's are stock Firmware that's Debloated with some modifications (the modifications varies depending on the Developer).
Some of those have the word "Debloated" on the title of the thread but, most has this specified within the OP (1st Post of the thread).
Just keep in mind to read the OP instructions and such first and ask questions within the thread if you require additional support and member guidance.
Good Luck!

It was running okay, I didn't make any calls with it. I did do some texting though and it was fine.

Hey man. Thanks for your help. It turns out I couldn't flash a custom recovery on the phone because I had the bootloader locked so I basically removed all the bloatware from verizon, samsung and changed the boot screen to the proprietary Samsung bootscreen. I also changed the system audio files and the phone is buttery smooth. The only problem now is the I can't send texts. Even after I added a good apn and get 4g speeds. Do you have any input on that?

The only word of advice is to be very careful about what you uninstall...
What may look like Bloatware may have a dependency attached to it. In that case, freezing/disabling those with the dependency hook would be the best course of action.
I haven't needed to do this in a while and I don't have the Bloatware listing myself but, I believe that there should be one for this device somewhere on the forum.
Good Luck!
