Damn just got real.. But personally I prefer to wait for @Cloudyfa's one, baseband, stability, etc. But have a good time with this one, and please described steps of your installation, so that everyone who wants to install this ROM will do it in the right way !
Sure no problem my pleasure, but isn't that the hold point of custom roms? To take a risk and try for personal liking and experience?

Well i just flashed it and i can say one thing.... Omg!!!!!!!!! It gives our old G2 a fresh and new look. This rom is soooooo beautiful, the new camera, the new gallery, lg g flex 2 lockscreen, the settings everything about this rom is awesome tfoo tfoo tfoo!! This is just stock with G4 apps, not really a port.
It doesnt have the g4 camera
Its bugged everywhere and the dev is well known for bricking devices (Thats what i read in the spanish forum)
Well, I'm not calling anyone a lie for bricking and no I'm not saying it couldn't happen to you however, I've flashed it on my VS980 using the patch method from Grola.
I was already on stock lollipop for my Verizon variant, I downloaded the rom, went into recovery wiped everything except internal storage, flashed the rom, flashed the patch from Grola/Simple rom 1.2 (THIS IS A MUST), flashed the 39A Bootstack, rebooted and it seems to be working. It is a little buggy, I'm not going to lie. The transitions aren't as "Fast" as they should be. They jump here and there a little but again, I used a patch on top of a rom. It's not going to be perfect.
Just letting you Verizon users know it did work (for me). If you do try what I did, try it at your own risk. And I assume it may or may not work for other variants because the Grola/Simple Rom Patch supports a lot of variants. Again, at your own risk. I'm just trying to help out as much as I can
Could someone describe the procedure to install this rom if I use LP ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development-d802/rom-stock-30d-flashable-zip-t3070383) Unfortunately, I do not understand Italian
Xposed donĀ“t work.
It's quite buggy for me. The play store had to of been one of the biggest issues with it fc. The gallery would fc when deleting something. It wasn't bad with bloat or anything for me. Majority you could delete or disable so not really an issue to me. However, it wasn't quite usable for me mainly because of the play store issue. I saw there was a fix but it wouldn't show on the thread.

The rom was uploaded again yesterday with these issues fixed
"Apariencia total del G4" = "LOOKS like G4"
I was able to successfully install this rom following megaghostgamer's instructions. This rom does have the G4 camera, but it crashes often especially when using manual focus. This is full lollipop and I'm not sure whether or not this is a ported rom. During the initial setup the device was named "*my name*'s G2" instead of "*my name*'s G4" which should be the default because when I setup my phone using Cloudy's G3 rom the device was named "*my name*'s G3". Perhaps this is a G2 lollipop rom with a very extensive G4 skin with ported apps?

Hey all,
Today, I'll be picking up my new P500, after deciding to get a phone before my trip away.
I was considering flashing franco's rom and kernel combo, but seeing as I leave tomorrow, would it be worth the risk? This would be my first attempt at anything like this, and while I know I can get it to work eventually, would the benefits outway the risk of not having a proper functioning phone in time for my trip?
I'd be using my phone for video and music playback, and some pic taking, while keeping me connected to Facebook the whole time, if my priorities make a difference.
if u are good with nerd stuff, do it.
or stay away! u wud end up asking ur friend for a spare phone
with this phone yes absolutely it makes a amazing performance difference with the right ROM and kernels
The answer: YES.
It's pretty easy, root with gingerbreak, install a recovery, make a nandroid and that's it! Now jflash a nice rom/kernel combo and you will benefit of a much better battery life and performance overall. Enjoy!
Btw, welcome to the party here
sure the feeling of constant crashes and a bricked phone (that used to work perfectly on stock) is awesome.
I suggest this:
use your stock phone for a little while, get used to it, and then flash a custom rom and see the differences; you won't want to go back again

+ 1. You will find the diff only after you use the stock, other-wise you may not like it.

Well that depends on how many beta things you try
Go, no problem at all, it's easy. You can try what you want and you can always come back.
It's good to install a custom ROM and Kernel, I use [ROM] devoid. #froyo-final & franco kernel. Very fast, smooth .
If you just get the phone new, I will recommend your stay with the original firmware. That way you dont have to worry about it during your trip, and you will have something to reference to when you try the custom ROM/kernel later.
Okay, here's my personal opinion. Having bought my Optimus T (P509) brand new in November the week it came out, I had no option but to keep the original firmware for a while. It's not that bad. It's very stable, and it honestly isn't that slow. I was only getting about 460 on my quadrant, and I was disappointed, but quadrant has come to mean nothing. Despite my consistent 1000+ quadrant scores on other ROM's, I was disappointed with the appearance. Appearance has come to mean almost everything to me now. This all being said, I would advise keeping the stock for a while and messing with ADW Launcher (found in the market for free) and some of it's themes. Although it's totally worth the minimal risk of bricking, as has been previously stated, you'll fully appreciate custom ROM's more if you keep the original ROM for a time.
Go Launcher Ex will give you a great overhaul as well on stock ROM.
now day it is very easy to:
1. root Use GingerBreak, just click and click reboot, all done.
2. Install recovery, For 1st recovery u can use ungaze zip and terminal emulator with very short command for Amonra, or use Rom manager to install CwM.
3. Flashing Custom Rom, just go to recovery Wipe all and then Flash it.
its just take 1-2 hour to finish that... very different with me when i install Custom Recovery on Last Feb... you must use ADB.

Well yes it is, but the main idea is that he won't understand the pros and cons of a custom rom if he doesn't get to really know his stock phone.
For example when I bought my phone I couldn't find a reason to mod it. I was coming from Symbian & WinMo and I was perfectly happy with the phone the way it was; only after I got bored with it and got tired with it being rather slow I decided to mod it and I could perfectly see and understand all the differences.
Why am I telling this? Because he's asking if he should risk moding it. The answer is no, you shouldn't risk this if you're happy with it the way it is now and if you can't tell all the differences and improvements.
Grow some balls and do it ours worth out trust new lol

And how about I have tried almost all of them? I'm even testing Ciaox's ThunderSense Rom. We're not talking about testing here, he isn't here to be a beta tester. He can just use stable roms like devoid.final and enjoy his phone.
And yes I do agree, he should use his phone for some time before rooting to really feel the benefits of customs, unless he already had an android phone before.
So guys, I have finally rooted my s3 (international version) after the warranty expired a week ago.
Have installed CWM and am in a search of ROM for it now.
For now I have decided to flash CM 11, but have few doubts about it:
Should I install m9 snapshot or m10 snapshot? I read it on reddit that m10 is not stable, so should I go for m9 instead for now?
And the zip file from their official site is around 212 MB, so does this zip file contain gaaps? If no, then where can I find the gaaps file for cm 11 m9 snapshot version?
I am kinda new to these things so sorry for being so noob.
And since I am flashing a rom for the first time, do I need to do anything else other than these steps:
1. Backup current rom using recovery.
2. Copy the zip file of the cm 11 rom in SD card.
3. Reboot into recovery, clear data, clear cache and clear dalvik cache.
4. Flash rom and gaaps(if not included in rom).
Any help regarding the above post

You need to do some reading before you start playing.

I have actually read a lot about it, have done all the prerequisite steps (nandroid backup, efs folder backup etc), have downloaded cm 11 m9 and gaaps for it, now the only thing that is stopping me from flashing is rootSU post here which says:
"Note that Cyanogenmod is very controversial for the international version of the S3, there are technical issues, and newer stable version is always behind, I would NOT go for Cyanogenmod at the moment.."
So should i go ahead and flash cm 11? What do you guys suggest. I know i am being too preventive but this is my first time so i think this is understandable.

That was made 2 years ago. Ignore that and flash cm if you want to give it a try. Countless number of us use it no problems. If you don't like it you can always flash something else.

tHANKS How much FREE RAM do you get in CM11 Snapshot.
I will be doing the EXACT Same thing as you today or tomorow .
but I have a question , I'm stuck
How did you BACK UP your EFS folder/file?
I cant back it up suing the APP KTool Hack?
There is not much difference in free ram, but that should not be a problem I guess.
And for tha efs I actually used a app called Samsung tool (there is thread here on xda, go ahead and search it, else I will provide you tha link once I get on pc.) But after I read about k-tool, I even used it to backup it again and it worked for me fine. So you can try Samsung tools or may be some expert can help you in this regard.

I JUST PUT THE FIRST EVER ROM ON MY PHONE!!!!!!
IT WORKS!!! :d
Im so happy I didn't screw anything lol!!!
How are you finding it?
only 1 stupid thing I got charged for a GPS because my phone automatic used mobile data!
CM11 Snapshot, is like Normal Stock Andriod. Has a few new things? like DPS and some terminal setting - Not sure.
It felt a bit laggy ,first but then speeded up.
WAHOOOO I GOT KITKAT!!!
Lol nice.
For me it wasn't laggy at all, buttery smotth. And yes as of now I haven't found any drastic changes, although haven't used phone much after updating but still I don't think my battery life is gonna improve :/ So most probably would be dead soon, will have to research on it though but thats out of topic now
Android operates differently to windows so the theory about free ram doesn't apply here.

Are you unable to download from cyanogenmods servers?
So the very first ROM to get posted was a not very functional MIUIv5 port. Since then it is pretty much stock and AOSP variations.
I was poking around and saw that en.miui.com has a ROM posted for LG G3 Single SIM. Has anyone tried this on our phone.
My guess is that it is not BUMP'd and for some Chinese unlocked version of the phone.
What will happen if we flash a non BUMP'd ROM onto our phone? Will it brick or can we restore from NAND or re-flash?
I remember running MIUI on my OG, since then though stock and AOSP have been fantastic.
I'd love to see a functional MIUI port on this device. I've always been a big fan of MIUI.
Same here, I actually love MIUI and its UI and themes, would be great to have one fully working again for our G3s

In fact this rom, is the one we saw in November (made by rogue). This rom uses stock kernel, and is compatible with d850 vs985 ls990 d851 d855 d852 f400s f400k f400l

Are you referring to this one? I kind of wanted to give it a shot but was afraid to. Does anyone know if PA Gapps would work with it?
http://en.miui.com/download-257.html
EDIT: I went ahead and flashed it, and everything seems to work except data. It's unbelievably fast and smooth, which makes me wish I could figure out how to get data to work. Thoughts?
I'm on 10B and everything was working no issues until lately my bluetooth dies when listening to music. I'm assuming it's the app updates for Pandora and Soundcloud. Anyway back to my question - What is the most stable, customizable, and fully built ROM/ OEM stock kdz for the G3 these days. I had cyanogen mod on my note2 about a year ago before the G3 an I was okay with it. I worry about loosing knock bc I can't use the rear unlock button when in the car cradle. I guess I'd like to be able to sideload/unroot for a few app like appradio unchained reloaded etc. My wife hates the stock camera so maybe an upgrade will help that issue. I stayed on 10B bc I didn't need the few extra options on newer versions, wanted to have as much customization as possible and google seems to be heading towards less like apple, and it worked great.
So I'm thinking about moving to a newer stock version, or cyanogenmod, and then a new phone if I'm not happy and too many features are lost - let me know your thoughts and any suggestions. I'm by no means well versed these days and a noob in my opinion, but have basic knowledge from when I spent some time rooting a half dozen phones, etc, esp when updating our note 2s last year to cyanogen. Other than flashing the stock images , adding TWRP, etc when we got these phones, I haven't spent much time learning on XDA and after a few hours I could use some opinions/directions to head, so please give me your thoughts on the latest these days for the G3.

As far as I know all LG stock ROMs for the VS985 are just as customizable as any other - at least when rooted. I don't theme except if you count using the Flat Style Bar Indicators Xposed module to fully customize what my status bar icons look like and what order they're in.
I'm more a function over form kind of guy.
That said, I do use Nova Launcher Prime and I know there's themes for it although I don't use it that way.
Since you're already rooted and have TWRP on, just use TWRP Manager from the Play Store to update to the latest version of TWRP before flashing a newer ROM.
If you don't know, rooting is harder after 10B and putting TWRP on is harder after 12B, so if you ever have to return to a known good state in order to re-root and put TWRP back on, I recommend the 10B TOT.
TOTs flash more partitions than KDZs and can fix problems that even flashing the 10B KDZ won't fix. I have first hand experience with that kind of situation. Before that I always chose KDZ over TOT but now I use TOT when there's a choice.
It wouldn't hurt to use the built in LG Backup to back up your apps and data, save it to your MicroSD card and then flash the 10B TOT to start fresh. Re-root with the Stump app in brute force mode, then use TWRP Manager from the Play Store to flash TWRP.
@xdabbeb 's VS985 v2.0.0 ROM based on 35B 5.1.1 is overall my favorite rom.
I have, however, been using his stock 47A Marshmallow firmware for several months now. It's not customized like his v2.0.0 ROM. It's as fully stock 47A while still being rooted and able to use TWRP.
Whatever ROM you use, be sure to flash the appropriate Bootstack from his v2.0.0 thread. 12B for KitKat, 24B for Lollipop 5.0.x and 35B for Lollipop 5.1.x and Marshmallow 6.0.
If you happen to fiddle with JasmineROM 9.x or SkyDragon 6.x, flash the 24B or 35B bootstack after flashing the ROM. If you flash the 35B bootstack before flashing the ROM you'll brick your phone until you recover it.
If you just get used to always flashing the bootstack after the ROM then you won't go wrong. You can always flash it before and after flashing the ROM if you're not sure.
I worry about loosing knock bc I can't use the rear unlock button when in the car cradle.

There are Xposed modules to hide root for whatever apps you specify. It doesn't work for everything, and I don't do so myself.
No camera app is going to work overall better than the stock one - no other camera app can make use of the laser focus.
For what it's worth, @xdabbeb makes an app called X-Cam that lets you tweak the stock camera app some. I don't use it so came advise specifics.
Good luck!

Dear I had been trying flash many Custom ROMS as I were on on stock ROM when I got LG g3 vs985 which was androids 4.4.2. Just want to upgrade it, any I easy flashed Fulmics 6.5 MM, rooted too, I had been using same ROM for a year & it upgrade up to 7.0, and afterwords I directly flashed Fulmics 7.5 coz I was going to hard reset it I anyhow flashed the complete system, by then I tried many other ROMS but just Fulmics get along.
Now for few days I had been reading about RR Roms, they seem to be more efficient, battery status seemed fine, and a lot of features I think I would be going to experience with it. Actually I managed to flash Fulmics ROM while watching RR ROM installing tutorial on LG g3. I wonder since then how come I could not install Rsurrection remix on my LG g3 vs985, according to Ressurection tutorial, but I am get eager now what is the hurdle, lately when I was on Fulmics Roms I got error of baseband binart updater in twerp recovery, now I roll over back to Stock ROM 4.4.2, rooted & installed twerp recovery, I happily tried to clean flash LineadeOS 14.1 nightly vs985 or Ressurection remix v 5.38 nightly vs985 along with the gasps, unfortunately I went for RR Nightly with bump afterwards flashing apps which they provided with current nightly but i failed again to flash it. Today I got the ernightlyboot stake I guess, I don't remember exactly.
I guess I went along with long story but finally I m going for LineadeOS 14.1 vs985 nightly, as I restored my cell to stock, and I need ur assistance, I m going to provide u with my cell info;
Phone name & Model; LG G3
Androids Version; Kit Kat 4.4.2
Build Number; KVT49L.VS98510B
Software Version; VS98510B,
That is all, I would attach a screenshot with my post for better assistance, I hope you guess enter my problem with detailed solution for CyanogenMod 14.1 or LineageOS 14.1, I will be waiting for ur response.
Thank.
I"ve been having pretty bad battery life. I can usually survive the day with about 25% remaining. Recently I started looking at the Privacy Guard and I was surprised how many apps had "Start on boot" and run in the "Background" ... things such as The Walmart and Amazon apps and a BUNCH of others. Those apps which usually give you ****ty alerts about deals and craps. I turned a lot of that stuff off, and now my battery life has improved. Today will be the biggest test, to see where I'm at in 2 hours. Yesterday I woke up at 7:30am and by 9:30am I was at 80% .. so about a 20% drop in 2 hours.
So everyone may want to go through their privacy guard and turn off apps you don't want running in the background. I have found my phone does seem more responsive now too.
Update... I'm now at 80% after 5 hours .. so a 1.6 per hour drop instead of 10% per hour ... yay!

Hello,
You must flash the 35B modem over any custom ROM you are installing and all will be ok. See below link for your guide:

I had this happen for months and wasnt aable to figure it out but when I got sick of losing my lte on the road working after not even a week sometimes I had to bring it all the way down to 10b bootstack and reroot and everything else and it has been a couple weeks now with no problems. I am using the most current Lineage Rom with nothing but root and a bunch of apps. Every single time I rebooted it was losing lte for like 4 months. I need gps alot and this had caused me to have to pull over out of state and restore an old backup that was months and months old, then update apps and all that. It was a royal pain in my a$$. Good luck to you. Back up all your important info and media or whatever else and go back to the bricks and start from scratch. I really think all the flashing that I do broke something
I flashed the 35b bootstack many times with no luck. Sometimes it would only last 2 days and lose data and not reboot random or anything. It was very annoying

i have g3 vs985 i flashed lineage 7.1.2 and the network signal went off. help please.
For all those who are complaining about the battery issues, yes, I must say that the battery doesn't last even a day after normal usage. I'm sure that the culprit of draining of battery is the heat generated by the processor. A lot of battery charge is wasted in the form of heat. LG didn't plan a good cooling strategy to reduce the heat. I would suggest to use the Aluminum foil method to spread the heat for proper cooling.
I will provide a link to the guide below.
