Here is what I did:
Months ago trying to install ICS (VM leak) went to s-off on my Sprint EVO 3D y changed my CID to super CID (111111) then thinking that the original CID of the phone was HTC__001 (following an EVO 3D GSM tutorial) changed it and went back to S-ON and stock but with the wrong CID (HTC__001) then when y tried to use my phone and update it to Sprint ICS but the phone won't even load the OS, it shows the screen where I can see my HBOOT by the way is 1.5 and go to fastboot but it says security warning etc... I do can install CWM and 4ext that means I can lock and relock fastboot oem then I tried to install several roms stock inculded but still doesn't boot to the OS even I tried to install stock RUU zip and EXE but since I'm with wrong CID the phone displays Wrong CID I don't know if installing a RUU for the CID HTC__001 makes sense but anyway when I try to install it says signature fail and since installing the RUU for Bricking or corrupting the HBOOT is imposible, I can't get in to QHSUSB_DLOAD to try any method like HTC Unbricking Project, Ultimate Recovery Tool 2.3 RC1, HBOOT Downgrade Toolkit Live CD or Juopunutbear S-OFF......
So achieving S-OFF it's imposible for my or I'm missing any other method for S-OFF and go back to the SPCS_001 CID? or there is another way to change the CID on S-ON considering that fastboot oem writecid fails on S-ON I even tried modifying the mmcblk0p4 file with an hex editor and it failed
Another way would be using a RUU with the android-info file changed to accept my HTC__001 CID even my hardware is CDMA (shooter) but signed for S-ON
Or another way is somehow corrupting the HBOOT without installing a RUU
So being S-ON with the wrong CID (HTC__001) with warning security and HBOOT 1.5 and no ROM can boot I think my phone is really death
Is there something missing I can do to make it work again or I have a really expensive brick??
anyone help??? please

any other ideas?? another method for s-off or maybe change the CID
I bricked my Desire X, I think I tried to unroot by, pushing "recovery_signed.img" & "Relocking" the Bootloader and then I opened RUU & it says 'ERRROR{155}. Now when I "Turn ON" the device it directly goes into bootloader & no response at all. What should i do now to get device loaded with Stock ROM??
Since you're from Dubai you won't be able to use available ruus cause they are made for Eastern Europe.
Just unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery and flash Hasoon's on Infernal's stock rom.

May I extract the 'rom.zip' fom the current RUU and flash or whatever it is...
Just go to fastboot and run RUU, if that doesn't work try do download RUU again. And which RUU did you use earlier?
Go to fastboot, connect phone to PC, and run command
fastboot getvar cid
from command prompt, I assume you have adb installed.

Never mind, just run RUU from fastboot
Forget about using a RUU when you're from Dubai or another place that doesn't correspond to one of the CID's listed in the RUU thread.
Only option you have is to do what nloooo said in the first place (unlock bootloader, flash CWM and, once in CWM, adb push a 1.14 or 1.18 stock rom to sdcard so you can flash that in CWM) or by restoring a nandroid backup you made earlier.
First check the boot you have (says somewhere on the same screen where it says it's relocked) then either adb push the 1.14 or the 1.18 from the deodexed stock rom thread.
He said that he used ruu previously so he might have a compatible device. Or he had some other ruu but I don't know where he got it.
So, we need him to adb getvar cid so we can know what to tell him... Can he get USB mounted to push PM66IMG.zip?

Did you try to download RUU again and to run it?
You said you got error 155 that's not CID mismatch, this is from RUU readme file:
ERROR [155~159]: IMAGE ERROR
One of these error messages will appear when you use the incorrect RUU to update and the image file size is larger than the Flash ROM size. In this case, download the correct RUU version and try again.

Hey all, I am thinking about selling my HOX+ and the buyer doesn't want the phone rooted for warranty purposes. Is there a way for me to remove root and restore everything to stock? Thanks in advance!
Please reboot in bootloader and tell me your hboot version and confirm AT&T/TELUS version.
I see HBOOT version but not the AT&T/Telus version.

Sure, this is the confirmation.
You need this RUU for your AT&T
Reboot in bootloader mode
Plug in your USB cable
Open a adb command window
At the prompt type>fastboot oem lock
Your phone will reboot.
Again in bootloader mode with FASTBOOT USB highlighted simply run the RUU downloaded
Your phone will be completely wiped including SD card.
What exactly is the RUU? What does it do?
Also, once I do that, how do I get the stock ROM back on it?
Also, once I get back to stock recovery how do I get back to bootloader?
RUU = ROM Update Utility
This will update and restore your phone to it's original state including boot, recovery, rom, etc. Your phone will be exactly like it was the first time you press the Power button.
To access Bootloader simply hold your Volume down rocker and press Power button.
I ran the RUU a few times and it has been stuck on the "Verifying information on your Android phone. Please wait ..." screen for a long time. How long does the RUU run?
I am running win7 from a virtual machine. Not sure if that makes a difference. But the RUU didn't seem to work. Do you have a MD5 for the RUU file you posted?
Would that work if you registered your phone on htcdev.com? Warranty will be void if you unlocked your device, it doesn't matter if its locked again.

Yes maybe the VM can be a problem, I will do search about this. One thing I know. some people says the needed many try before it worked.
MD5 : 3B951A3195E60712A62A4DB6AC181CC7
You can try this one if you want an alternative : RUU_EVITARE_UL_JB_45_Cingular_US
Thanks. What's the difference between the two exe files?
They are the same, only the source is different. Since I am having an TELUS phone I can't test if any of those files are working so I gave you two different source to download the file just "in case..."
In bootloader it will state re-locked after locking bootloader again so its not possible to get back all stock again.

Hi,
I'm trying to S-OFF my sister-in-law's HTC Flyer and then put a more recent Android OS on it.
The Flyer is currently running OS 3.2.1, software 3.55.405.1 with the 1.11.0011 HBOOT.
I've been trying to research this for the last few weeks and so far I've:
1. Unlocked the bootloader via HTC Dev
2. Installed Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4 recovery
3. Rooted
However, I understand that to upgrade to a more recent OS (e.g. 4.x) I need S-OFF. The device is currently S-ON.
I also understand I need to downgrade to an earlier HBOOT and OS which will allow me to use tools to S-OFF. Once I've done that, then I can put a much more recent CFW on it and thus a newer OS.
However, here's the problem. Running an appropriate RUU doesn't work. It does nothing at all. I've donwloaded one from two different sources and neither do anything. They just say 'sending....' for hours on end, and when I give up a reboot I see RUU failed and then reboot again and device is back to where it was before. Nothing's changed.
If what I understand above is correct, what's my next course of action?
It's a P510e HTC Sense 1.1 (Fastboot getvar cid says HTC_16 so it's a PG4110000) with 3G and Wi-Fi.
Thanks in advance!

First try this http://revolutionary.io/
Basicly follow instructions on site.
If it doesnt help, xda forums are full of threads which will help you.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply, but I've already visited that site. Unfortunately, it isn't of any help to me as I'm not running the required HBOOT version. Mine is later (v1.11.0011) and it needs to be downgraded to an earlier version before S-OFF can be achieved via revolutionary.io.
So, I guess I firstly need to find a way to downgrade from 1.11.0011 to an earlier HBOOT before I can then S-OFF and add a custom ROM running a later Android OS.

Hi,
For some reason, the RUU approach isn't working for me.
If I try using the util itself, it never sends the file to the Flyer. I've sourced the RUU from two different locations on the 'net, with the same result. I discovered that the ROM.ZIP in both wasn't a valid ZIP file so I couldn't try the misc_version method (*and* worryingly Kaspersky 2014 detects the misc_version file as Malware and deletes it so I'm concerned about that method anyway).
I've rooted and CFW'd three devices in the past (a G2 Touch, an SII and a TF301T) but this HTC Flyer is a pain in comparison (and I have a Desire HD to do next!).

Yes, unlocked via HTC Dev then rooted by adding the Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4 recovery image.
there is no malware on misc file you can use it and open the ruu wizard wait for couple seconds the take the rom.zip, be sure that you have at least 700 mb free memory on your pc before starting the ruu wizard.

Okay, I've followed the misc_version instructions (temporarily turned off Kaspersky so it wouldn't complain) and even though I have now relocked the bootloader etc. the RUU *still* doesn't do anything. It reboots the Flyer, but afterwards it just sits there and says it's sending but never does! There was an error that flashed up sometime during the 'adb' or 'adb shell' stuff - mentioning too many links - so maybe there's another issue somewhere?

I'd downloaded RUUs from different sites on the 'net and Windows reported the rom.zip they contained was duff. However, just tried testing one with 7zip and that reported the zip was fine (and I extracted it as a test), so for some reason my Windows 7 is unable to read the zip file correctly, which might explain why RUU was failing to work?
Anyway, I copied the RUUs resulting rom.zip file to the SD card and renamed it as suggested.
I ran misc_version via adb and set it with the correct RUU version (2.00.405.3) and then exited back to the command line, and told adb to reboot to bootloader. Bootloader loaded and checked the PG41IMG.zip file, and it then reports "Main Version is older! Update Fail!", which I expected misc_version to avoid?
(If I try 'adb reboot bootloader' from the # su prompt rather than exiting first, adb shell reports that it can't find the device. Is that relevant at all? I assumed you had to exit back to the Windows cmd prompt before doing 'adb reboot bootloader' (which works) but could that be where I'm going wrong?)
Just in case it's at all relevant, 'fastboot getvar all' tells me:

The flyer is 3G and Wi-Fi, HBOOT 1.11.0011, running 3.55.405.1. It's on Talk Mobile (via Vodafone) for 3G data and the device seems to originate from South Africa rather than the UK, but I'm assuming WWE is going to be okay?

Bricked?
Unfortunately, something very odd has now happened to the HTC Flyer. It was left plugged in to my PC, slowly charging via USB.
We went out for part of the day, came back and the device is now caught in a perpetual loop. Screen goes off for about 7 seconds, then comes back on, stuck in FASTBOOT USB (if I'm connected via USB) or FASTBOOT AC (if I'm using a plug) for about 3 seconds before going off and then repeating the cycle. The power button flashes orange on/off throughout this loop.
I have noticed that apart from the usual info (e.g. S-ON, etc.), it also has one important addition underneath *** RELOCKED ***, which is:
*** Security Warning ***
The options I have are:
BOOTLOADER
REBOOT
REBOOT BOOTLOADER
POWER DOWN
As I only have 3 seconds, I don't have the time to select anything other than BOOTLOADER and the instant the HBOOT screen appears, the device starts the cycle again and I'm back to the beginning.
Any suggestions before I have to inform my sister-in-law that her flyer is now a brick?

Hi,
Sorry to be a bit slow, but I need a few more details?
I've got a backup of my system (via Revolutionary recovery mode) from a few weeks ago. That presumably includes the Honeycomb ROM (the flyer was running 3.2.1), but how do I reinstall it when the Flyer is stuck in this loop?
The backup contains: boot.img, cache.img, data.img, nandroid.md5, recovery.img, system.img
The system.img file will be the ROM as it's 768MB.
I don't see how to get the Flyer to do anything whilst it's stuck like this. It doesn't switch on at all if it isn't plugged in (USB or AC) and it's in this loop if it is plugged in. I don't think it's charging the battery at all whilst it's in this loop, and the battery doesn't seem to have any charge if it's not plugged in!
