So i want to upgrade from the original stock 4.0.4 android version to a more updated version.
Its my moms tablet so i don't want to put any custom rom on it, but I'm hoping to just make it generally faster.
So how am i able to do so, and would i have to wipe all the data also?

Since I'm not a pro in the rooting world of Android, I need some help. It's actually a question I want to ask.
My Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 finally told me that the official ICS update is ready for download! However, my Tab 10.1 is rooted but no custom ROMs have been flashed on it. So I basically have the stock ROM for Android 3.2
To update my Tab 10.1 to ICS, do I need to unroot it? Or is it fine to just proceed on with the update in the current rooted state?

i have a galaxy s3 mini 4.1.2 android version and i want to update it to 4.2.2 or better and i cant do it any help would be good
There are no official Samsung based updates past 4.1.2 for your phone. You would need to install a custom recovery and update via a custom rom like Cyanogenmod.
Hi
I have managed to root my Samsung Galaxy s2 and install a custom rom, I havn't got a clue what rom it is I think its jelly bean, how can I tell (I think there is a mention some where of jaboo)? Is it possible to update to the latest KitKat version or one that is similar/recommended, without wiping everything off my phone as its such a pain reinstalling all my apps etc?
Cheers
Hello -
I have a Samsung galaxy S4 SCH-I545L currently on android 4.4.2. This is a phone on an independent rural carrier that uses Verizon's LTE. The OTA update does not have the 5.0 update available, nor does Samsung kies. Is there a 5.0.1 or 5.0.2 stock ROM available that will work with this phone - and if so, is there a way to upgrade to this without having to wipe the data?
Thanks all
No, because it would flash some of the wrong things that would lead to major problems. Not sure if that has safestrap/TWRP, but you could use a ROM or wait. I wouldn't flash the normal ROM for the normal Vzw s4.
Is there a ROM with 5.0.x out there for this model??
Hello, I have a rooted Vodafone Smart Tab II 7 (basically Lenovo A2107A) running Android 4.0.4.
It doesn't seem to have a recovery, just diagnostics and reset as I see, I would like to install a newer version of android or a custom ROM that's at least based on android 5.
How could I do this?
