I have been using S6 Edge for a while now and after trying really hard, I somehow managed to get 5 hours SOT sometimes. But there have been a lot of days when I only got like 2 hours and few minutes SOT. But yesterday was a seriously messed up!
It went down from 96% to 40% in like 5-6 hours with 20 minutes SOT. With only Mobile Data or WiFi only for few hours in between and everything else was turned off.
Today, when It was being charged while the phone was switched off, it showed 22%. I wanted to make some calls so I switched it on and it went up to directly 56% and then I removed it, only to notice that it was dropping like crazy and went down to 53% in like 5 minutes.
Phone is non-rooted with all the battery saving settings on. I also generally keep the power savings mode on.
Would really appreciate it if someone can share a solution for the problem! Thanks.
Any suggestions or fix for the problem?
try a battery calibrater ..I did it and now it's good..I used a one that needs root

Upgraded to KE7 yesterday using Odin.
Before going to bed around midnight, I had the phone connected to charger for a couple of hours, so the battery was fully charged at a hundred %.
Before turning in, I disconnected the charger, and disabled Wifi (generally battery life is worse on mobile data then Wifi, in my experience atleast). Around 8 am I woke and found the phone had switced itself off, completely drained. The phone that was fully charged, should've been on idle most of the time. I have 2 exchange account configured for Push, 1 F/book account, Whatsapp, Tango, NO live widgets. I think these are the main users of data/background processes. The phone had died in 8 hours, possibly less as I'm not sure exactly when it had switched off.
Put it back on charge again, left it charging for a few hours, around noon time, it was back up to a 100%, so, disconnected charger, now. 8 hours, 21 minutes later, the battery is sitting with 44% left, so, I would get circa 15 hours of usage on Wifi.
Under Wifi, 60% of the battery usage comes form Android OS...
Has anyone else noticed the same, iis there any fix for this... has Samsung fixed anything worthwhile in the jump from KE2 to KE7??
Riz
Hadn't quite figured what was causing pretty good battery in some circumstances and very poor in others. This would explain it and would be consistent with the stuff I was doing when I noticed the quickest drain.
Can't offer definitive proof, but certainly a very plausible working hypothesis. Solution anyone??

I think you should test it a few more times before concluding that it's due to mobile data vs wifi...?
I have just logged on to this forum to complain about the same issue! After KE7 battery has gone worse than before!!!!

Boogweed,
Normally yes.. but I've always noted worse battery performance on gprs/3g than WiFi, which is why I tested the phone mobile data at night.
Its a recurring problem.

Hi XDA,
Ive been getting alotta help from you, great developers, and had this question
that dont think has been solved yet. (I searched for 2 days)
So my current situation is;
Im running the latest energy rom (sense 3.0) with stock kernel, (as it was recommended on the post).
After flashing custom roms, beats audio and etc via ADB, i believe my
battery stat display is not normal.
It would take at least 90~120minutes to reach 100% from 99%.
And sometimes even if I have the charger hooked up to the phone
it would still drop to 99% from 100.
I have two batteries (Stock and Anker) and tested them both.
It looks like no matter how long i charge it, as long as i have 100% or 99%
on the battery, it takes around 12minutes and 13seconds screen-on time to drain 10% of the battery. Which it was way less than i expected.
but after dropping around 68~63%, the battery seems to last longer on each
percent points.
On top of that, I think my phone is not charging anymore when I turn to power off. I can feel the phones gone cold and not charging, but the orange light is always on and never turns green for some reason.
So my question is:
IS THERE ANY SOLUTION (LIKE BATTERY CALIBRATION THAT ACTUALLY WORKS?) TO THIS? IVE READ SO MANY THREADS ABOUT THIS BUT NOTHING IS GIVING ANYBODY A CLEAR ANSWER.
I have the same problem as you. I'm on Sense 3.5 RC1.6. Infact I just restarted my amaze in hboot mode and then back into normal. My battery went from 10% to 60%. Then after like 15 minutes of usage it went back down to 10%. Also my battery drains to almost dead at about ~3 hours of screen time with moderate-heavy usage.
have you guys fully charged it ? gone into advanced in Clockworkmod and deleted battery stats?
i havent hacked my amaze but when i had my g2x after every flash i would charge teh battery to 100% then wipe battery stats x2 and then let the battery drain to 0 percent. then it should give you accurate readings
I did that but I used Battery Calibrator app from market. 2 times and discharge to 100%. Also how long should the battery last on average?
I'm runnign stock, it lasts me a day, but depends on usage. I text alot, some calls, twitter facebook, a lot of music, some FML, and some camera lasts me all day, (i charge in the morning so it lasts me a full 24 hour cycle)
Hmm seems as if my battery drains pretty fast. I timed it with medium-low brightness just leaving the screen on, with 3g and music. I get 1% per 3 minutes on. No auto-sync or background data either.
as most of people usually say i should fully drain my battery and charge til 100%,
im doing that right now.
My phone got shut off during my jelly defense stage 13 session
and plugged the phone but it didnt turn on for like 10 minutes.
so i kinda freaked out that the clockworkmod recovery that i have right now
does not support charging when the phone is not awake, but i guess the charging is really slow since i have finally turned on my phone.
im just gonna let it sit on my side table charging, and ill prolly fall asleep..
cuz im definitely not in the mood to watch LeBron James' face tonight.
I will let you guys know.
Thanks.

i hear you.
but after searching several threads about HTC AMAZE's bad battery life,
im slowly being convinced that 3 hours of screen time doesnt sound really that
bad. lol
mine just died around 2 hrs 45 min screen time while the phone was up without a charge for 14 hours. well i guess if i start using the phone nonstop after a full charge, then maybe ill get 3 hours or more.... but still...its only 3 hours...

Once it`s charged make sure you flash 5.5.0.4 recovery. Using the toolkit makes that easy.

thanks. will do right away.
ive overheard from someone that 5.5.0.4 is causing bootloops when flashing
other roms, but did you have any problem with this?
Hey,
I'm having problem with my Nexus 7. I have Android 4.2.1 on it. I've been using it for about a week now and every night i would turn it off, but in the last few nights, i decided to leave it on sleep mode to see how the battery life was. On the google site, it says that the Nexus 7 should have 300 hours of standby. Is that the same as 300 hours of sleep? Because when I left my Nexus 7 on overnight, it drained from 55% to 33% in about 8 hours. That doesnt seem like 300 hours to me. Also, I've tested it again, started at 100%, no wifi, no gps, no apps running in background, no syncing, in sleep mode, and it's draining at about 2% and hour. I've read on this forum that people have been getting like 2% every 8 hours on sleep, or even overnight. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I've never used 4.1.1 so I dont have anything to compare it too. Does the 300 hour standby time mean powered off Nexus?
Thanks
I had the same problem. After going through all hoops i gave up and did a factory reset. I recently found a post that explains what i did..

Try turning on the display screen before unplugging the charger, then turn your device off. Do it all the time and your battery should last.
I've had this battery problem before and then it suddenly went away, and now it's back once again. I posted this in the captivate forums and got no luck. I've searched on google multiple times and found no solutions. Just recently, my captivate battery has been draining very fast. I've been going from 100% to 0 in about 8-12 hours. The main battery consumer is Android System. There are no processes that are keeping the phone on according to BatterBatteryStats. I loose about 7-8 percent every hour while it is in idle/deep sleep. If I enable the extreme setting on Juice Defender, it bumps up the battery life to about 45+ hours. But if I use juice defender, sending and receiving mms is very difficult. I tried it on another spare battery and it gave me the same results. This problem started earlier this week and was present when I first flashed a ICS rom back in June and hasn't gone away yet. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I did not change any settings or flash anything new to my phone. One day it suddenly went from 100% to 40% in 5 hours and after I rebooted it dropped to 5% in a matter of minutes. I recalibrated the battery but that did not do anything.
Your battery might be going bad?

So, I'm not sure what is happening - my phone battery is all over the place.
It started about a week ago - I'd see my phone battery at let's say 51%. We go out - take perhaps 2-3 pics, and my battery is down to 2%. Mind you - I haven't used the phone until I took it out to take the pics. Data was turned on, but no GPS or Bluetooth, no phone calls, nothing. From 51% to 2% in a matter of about 3 minutes or so. Then it dies - I plug it into the charger and it shows 26%. It charges upto 28%, we get out of the car and I unplug and take the phone with me.
When we get back in the car, plug it back in and it shows 74%. Doesn't change from 74 for a good 15mins and then goes up to 76% by the time I get home about an hour later.
Restart the phone at the 76% and within the first 10minutes it's dropped to 38%.
This has been the pattern, give or take, the last week now. I have no idea what's going and why it's happening.
I have not installed any new apps in the last month, and the phone is not rooted (G925I).
I have also tried to let the phone charge to 100% once it's died and then within 3-4 hours, the battery is dead on minimal usage.
I am not using the charger that came with the phone - am on travel and have a smaller travel charger, but this has never been an issue with the same phone before.
Any and all help is very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

You should probably use the samsung warranty because that is not normal

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I used tap tap shortcut to launch camera and shot few pics, videos. And then after maybe an hour without using my phone (no data, no gps) i looked at my phone and it had 1% battery left then it shut off. When i got home i plugged charger and after 10 minutes battery was 65%.
As for my situation I guess it's related with camera. I didn't exit camera app, just locked my phone using power button while camera was open and this happened. It's the first time that i'm encountering this, so it's hard to tell. Btw i'm using xtrestolilte 2.4.
I got the same kind of issues. My battery is crazy, I let it with Wi-Fi only, no Sync, no download and it lose 7% in an hour.
Sometimes I may just be on twitter and it looses about 2% every 5 minutes which is CRAZY !
Also, last time it turned off because I had 0%. I tried rebooting and it was at 10% xD.
Samsung did a terrible job with the S6, I don't know what it is exactly but it's weird.
