Hi,
I have TAB264 Yarvik. Only thing I need is to connect it to the RasPI and make USB tether. I test it on Arch Linux on my notebook. I can plug my phone with usb tethering allowed and than I am able to connect to the internet.
However, there is no such option on my TAB264. There is original ROM (4.2.2). I have installed some USB tether apps but nothing worked.
Do I need root or even new ROM? Or is it hardware dependent?
Thank you.
P.S. I can see the tablet in ADB if it helps.

Even connecting to a USB verizon modem would be am option?
Thanks,

You want to use a usb modem stick? Asked that b4. It seems impossible. It would be great though. If someone could dump or cook a rom from the 3g version to detect the USB modem in the wifi version, I would get rid off my cradlepoint router.

@peare: Are you referring to this thread? If so what was the outcome? The thread appears to have run dry with a request for dmesg. I suspect there is a similar problem with the phone tether needing an NDIS driver, I wonder if these could be installed on a rooted device without cooking the ROM?
It shouldnt be that difficult i suppose. I dont know linux, so i cant say anything. We need a line in wireless settings to point us to a APN. 3g model has a modem installed, I am inserting the modem externally. So whats the big deal? Some drivers and an application should do that for us.
I have rooted 2.3.5 S2. I also have router and a laptop that doesnt have wifi adapter. Now im wondering if its possible to use s2 as a wifi adapter? I would connect s2 with usb cable to laptop and then tether internet from the router trough s2 and usb cable to computer. Is is possible? What software do I need?
Possible without software
settings\wireless and network\tethering and portable hotspot\usb tethering
that 's it!
Thanks it worked on Windows 7. But I also have Windows XP and it doesnt work there. I assume I need to install driver? Which one? Kies? Is possible to install only driver and not kies because I dont want to have that piece of sh*t on pc?
Bump! Anyone?
Just install kies thats it!
...and on the 8th day he created the SGS II!
Hello
I am running the Lloir's CM ROM version cm-10.1-20130901-NIGHTLY-enrc2b (and corresponding kernel).
I want to use Bluetooth tethering, however, it does not work, i.e. the PC does not find the phone as a tethering device.
The PC does find the phone as a regular Bluetooth device.
WiFi tethering and USB tethering is working.
On the laptop I am running win7 and have the HTC drivers installed.
Bluetooth tethering worked with stock ROM.
Do I need special drivers? Is there a special trick with non-stock ROMs?
Thanks!

Hi there,
I have an old ZTE and I'd like to use USB Tethering for a small application I'm developing, which uses an ssh connection via usb from Android which requires USB Tethering.
I'm trying to solve the following problems:
- How do I activate USB Tethering withour sim card?
The USB Tethering settings get disabled with message "SIM card not ready".
- Is there a custom rom for Zte Jasper LTE Z718TL?
- My ZTE is not even detected by the PC, how can I fix this?
Usb debugging is already enabled after doing a factory reset.
- Do any one know another way to ssh from Android to raspberry pi by usb without usb Tethering?
Thanks

On PC install the USB-driver matching at 100% your device, also install the ADB-driver.
