I was just wondering does anybody have the AOSP keyboard from Cm12.1 that will work on stock Samsung roms? Would like this as Google have screwed up their keyboard big time taking away the personal dictionary

hi,
loving many of the new ics roms around, apart from 2 fundamental things, the camera app and the fact i have no return key on my swype keyboard, its a smiley key (WTF!) ive searched around a lot trying to find the answer to this, seems there is none, using the jap swype gives me the return key back, but this sends the text rather than goes to next line.
using go sms gives my the keyboard functions as they "should" be, but dont like it too much.
im using Resurrection remix, can i add the sammy apps i desire into this??
im guess the answer is no.
so, is there anyway i can "recook" this rom to add the sammy apps i want?
thanks in advance.
if resurection rom is aosp then no you cant put samsung apps on it
Hello all,
I just wanted to share with you, that my Original Samsung Keyboard Dock is not working with Cyanogenmod 9 from the Development Section here.
Does anybody have a solution for this?
Will it ever work with Cyanogenmod?
So far I am very very impressed with Speed and Stability of the latest CM9 Version by locerra.
Hopefully someone can chime in on the Keyboard Dock Situation...
Thanks again all for making such an incredible Community.
Cheers
qwertz
Doesn't work for me too

Same thing for me on SGT-P7510 on sammobile.com
Swiftkey app is a little compatible with external keyboards.
Something like this : go into the settings of the keyboard swiftkey app, validate the Terms od use choose English (US), define Swiftkey as the default input, and therefore in its parameters, go to Advanced > then choose External Keyboard Layout > English and it's good !
Or save the Samsung Keyboard .apk on ICS Stock ROM and bring the application on CM10. Maybe it could work
This is a known limitation of cyanogenmod.
have you read of any hacks / alternate soft keyboards that can get it to work?
The stock ICS rom is so limiting (and to me seems slow) compared to the JB rom (CM10)
i recall having to enable the dock option in the cm settings for my xoom, perhaps the same is true for the gtab?
in Paranoid rom working of keyboard doc should be fixed. I dont have one to test, unfortunately
here is link to changelog http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1838391
Works with the latest CM10 build too (the modified one recently uploaded):
Should work in the latest "official" rom too.

Is there any way to port the Touchwiz apps from stock jb to CM10 or CM10.1, because i feel the CM10.1 smoother than stock JB, but, i note the TW Camera App better than the default CM 10.1 camera app, and others apps like, message, phone, keyboard, s-note, paper artist...and so on...
i ask because i want to keep the essence of the note, and the speed/performance of CM...

is there any way we can get a REPUBLICAN to think like a DEMOCRAT???
not that I am either. it just seems as if we don't vote for who we want anymore, its voting for the lesser evil
good luck
No you cant port the TW apps to a non TW ROM. The reason is due to the framework. TouchWiz, while Android, uses a specific framework to run those apps. Such framework is not present in CM or any other ROM. So there is no way to port the apps.
On my Nexus which is running Google's Yakju 4.3 I have the Google keyboard as my one an only default input method. The benefit to this is I receive the updates to the keyboard even yesterdays update (blue and white color change). On a custom ROM such as CM, the default keyboard is the AOSP keyboard. Is there a way to flash the Google keyboard over the AOSP keyboard making only the Google Keyboard the only available one? I realize you can download the Google Keyboard separately from the Play Store however when this was done while running CM10.2 you cannot disable the default AOSP. Sure you can enable the Google Keyboard as well but the haptic feedback became extreme and the text input would lag. So is it possible to replace the AOSP with the Google Keyboard as it would appear on a device running a stock 4.3?
You can uninstall the AOSP keyboard using titanium backup or a similar root app, but I honestly don't see the point. Just install Google keyboard and set it as default.
Hi guys,
As the title says, I'm looking for some custom Jelly Bean 4.3 Roms based on official Samsung Rom for my i9100, so it would have Touchwiz also.
Currently i keep switching between CM10.2 (4.3.1) and Wanamlite 14.7 (4.1.2).
I like Wanamlite just because it uses the Samsung Touchwiz interface i like so much. Other than that, any other stock Rom, rooted and debloated would do just about the same.
What i like about CM10.2 and cyanogenmod in general is the speed and stability the Rom feels like. Also, the latest 4.3 Roms gave me infinitely great battery lives compared to any other JB Rom i tried since. And judging from other posts and reviews on the internet, Google worked their magic on 4.3 to help small batteries run through the day (almost double the life of 4.1.2 or even worst 4.2.x).
So it seems the perfect combo for me would be a 4.3 custom with TW.
Is there such a Rom, because it seems i can't find it.
Thanks.
There is no such thing. TouchWiz is more than a launcher. It`s a full system framework integrated in pretty much everything. For example, TW ads the speed dial and video call in phone app, the swipe to quick call or message in contacts app, SNS integration, FM Radio. And of course all the other "smart" features, like smart display.
If however, you don't need any of the features mentioned above, you can find custom launchers with skins that look exactly like TW and use them on any custom rom.
Thank you for your reply.
I realize i can install some Launcher apps to get some of the TW "feel", as i already tried Apex and Nova launchers. But they don't come even close to the real TW experience. As you said, TW is more than an icon set or interface color set. It's also about built-in apps and features. I know nothing about coding and programming on Android, so i thought one could implement TW along all those apps into some custom ROM like CM10.2 (4.3).
So, i guess i was wrong.
If so, this thread can be closed.
Thank you.
