Hi,
I've rooted my SPG511 under LP (A.1.28 build) in order to move app to sd but I can't find a way to do it despite beeing rooted. I've try "Move to SD" in system settings, but it move only a small part of the app on SD card, and move the rest to internal SD card.
Is there a way to move entire app (or at least major part) to SD card on rooted Lollipop ?

You can try this app from PlayStore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount

So I've done some searching and apparently on SGS2, the Move To SD option in Manage Applications *should* move apps to your external SD in the .androidsecure directory.
However, it doesn't seem to do that for me, it moves it to the .androidsecure directory of my INTERNAL sd.
I'm running MIUI, with Void.echo kernel.
In App 2 SD, it notes at the bottom "External storage status: shared"

It can be that it is a change or fold from it, so that maybe only MIUI users can help u.

That's how it always worked. Im sure there's an app in the market that will move it to an external sdcard.

I agree with OP there's something weird about how the move to sd works. In reality it moves the app to internal SD, however it also put some info on those apps in the .android_secure folder in your external SD. And if you remove the external SD those app stop working, even though they reside in the internal SD and shouldn't be affected by removal of external SD.

Actually my "Move to SD" doesn't even create the .android_secure folder on external SD. It creates it on the internal SD.
It should create it on the external SD, where you can see the files when mounted on your PC. (they are hidden when you try to find them from within your phone).
So I think in your case, the apps ARE being moved to the external SD just in a weird way (that's why they don't work when you remove the card).
In my case, it's not functioning that way at all; nothing is being moved to the external sd.
Is there a way to move apps to SD to free some internal memory? I'm currently running CM10.1

try foldermount.
Of course some of those applications should be movable to sd anyways. I wouldn't move anything that you use often. I wouldn't move anything that needs to be active most of the time, i.e. widgets.
My understanding---and someone correct me if I'm wrong---is no. The way the S4 mounts the SD card means that it's not recognized as external. I believe even the stock update doesn't really move apps, or at least appdata, to the SD card.
Now, I await someone to tell me that I'm wrong, or at least that I'm right for the wrong reasons.

The SD card is recognized as external and is treated as such. What you're thinking of is the internal partition labeled SD card, which is emulated. The external card is its own entity in the file system and is denoted as external.
As for the OP, a third party app is the best and only way to move apps AND their data to your external SD card.

Just want to clarify that foldermount is a solution for those apps you can't move into the SD card with apps2sd or some program like that.

You know an app that would work on GS4/CM10?
I'm trying to find out what I have to do so that I can move apps from internal SD card to my external SD card. On my old phone it was an option available when you click on an app in setting I could move app to SD card so I could free up space on my internal SD card memory and be able to install more apps. As it is now I have to

Need Root!
What kdz do you have? If you have a p769 20f kdz or (lgms769 10b) You can enable it by adding
Code:
ro.lge.capp_move_sdcard=true
to the build.prop (/system/build.prop)
Please make a cwm or twrp backup before messing with the build.prop

I wanted to know if there is anyway to move apps to SD card or to set install location to sd1...
My internal storage is more than 80% full (almost apps but no media files)..

Download and install "Titanium Backup". Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup
Open the program and click on the options button of your phone and click on batch. You'll see a number of operations followed by a run button after each one. Scroll down and you'll see "move all user apps to SD card", click on run and you are done.
Remember:
Without partitioning the SD card, you will always have part of the apps on internal. With partitioning the SD card, you can move the entire apps to SD card.

After partitioning the SD card ,phone didn't recognize the sd card
Then I used https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sylkat.AParted&hl=en ,and it worked for partitioning..
But Titanium backup doesn't have "move all user apps to SD card" option so I used Link2SD and Link2SD recognized the ext2 partition but after moving apps to SD card ,it says your phone doesn't support move apps to SD because its primary external memory is emulated from the interal storage..
Hey,
I often move my apps to sd card as I am ruining out of space on my internal memory. But even if I put the option to set SD card as the default location (Settings / Memory & Storage), when updating apps, they come back to the internal memory... Do you know of any method to permanently move the apps (and future updates) to the SD Card. My phone is not rooted.
Thanks
I think you should root your phone
