[Q] [Issue] HRM EOL & Gyro Tests FAIL !! - Galaxy S6 Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can anyone explain why my s6 edge triggers "fail" on both the tests ??

You shouldn't hold the phone while doing both tests, I can pass Gyro but I can't pass HRM EOL. I wonder why?
EDIT: I'm getting it to work the both of it now.

@Jeffsandoval014 Just now tested it out of curiosity! !

So a fail doesn't indicate a faulty device?
I can never get mine to say pass, how did you guys do it?

Place your phone on a flat surface, remove any case or what. That's how I do it.

I got it to pass on my SGN5 by placing it on my laptop's black plastic surface after it failed on my wood table.

Hey guys. What af you are talking here?) If you burn your house than its not a bad house but you just dont know how to grill chicken properly) Sit and relax, I,ll teach you how to pass this test, and youll remember who too often skipped physics at school)
One thing you should know when start testing - your phone must lay on stable surface, f.e. on your beer gut)) but not in your hand. Goes to the second
Another thing you should mention, but you dont, dont forget you skipped too much lessons)) - hrm measures in infrared also. SO - pabamm....you must turn off the light in the room. Just make it dark baby!) And Ull see everything will be nice) See how simple?))) Pass the test and relax. Also dont forget to remember me with a kind words)) Same deal was on my S7 edge, later my girlfriend finished him off with a shotgun) See you

My Refurbished S10+ Also fails almost every test and it's laying flat on a table with no movement.

[Q] Problem in i9300 screen?

Hello, i just bought my i9300 a few weeks ago. All seemed normal when i noticed that when i was viewing a gray screen ( e.g. a game loading ) or anything that wasnt completely black, there were some spots in my screen. I thought at first that it was some graphics or glitch from the game, but then tried loading another game with a similar gray screen and they were still there. They arent scratches or anything like that ,it seems that its from inside the digitalizer. I dont know if i can even put a photo of that, because its not easily visible. My phone obviously has its warrany voided due to some rooting. If i flash the stock firmware, unroot it and run triangleaway, do you think i would be able to swap it for a brand new?
Hey mate, I have the exact same problem I keep thinking it's my eyes or something but I guess if your seeing it as well maybe its a problem with the device?
Do you also see the screen sort of flickering at certain points?
Well documented problem with many handsets..

Assuming the battery is still alive -- this (along with the standard have you tried calling it) is a brilliant plan.
My guess however is that it's a two year old. It's stuffed somewhere in the house (check the toy box because kids put everything BUT the toys in there).
Down the drain? It's not like you lost it outside
I'm praying that it wasn't placed in the garbage can!!!
That's pretty funny. Hope you find it. I like the install an app from the web store option to find it
My cat occasionally sits directly on top of my phone when alarms go off. It's surprisingly effective at muffling the sound. I've set my phone down on a bed and then forgot about it and couldn't hear it when calling to find it, until I threw the cat off. She hates phones.

With cerberus (assuming the phone was on) you could get GPS location to know for sure. You could even snap a picture from the front or back camera and have it sent to your email. Cerebus is the best app I have on my phone.

If the kid took it, I'm sure the GPS would show the house, but not exactly where in it
I mean if the kid is not old enough to tell you where the phone is then they shouldn't have left the house alone
And why wonder? Just check the trash. It might be dirty but so what?
Have you tried giving your kid some laxatives? Maybe it got eaten.

It's surprising the amount of places a small kid can hide things. I know they don't seem to be smart enough.. but when you find your keys jammed half-way into the floor vent in their room, you have to wonder.
I'm sure I believe this story but...
Tell her to call daddy and pick up your house phone. She'll go get yours to call you.
This reminds me of a similar experience. In my case the remote of the blu-ray player was missing. We founded it after a year, our son have put in our floor-standing tower woofer firing port. I remember shaking the damn thing, but since it has insulation in it i could not hear any rattling. One day i lifted the speaker for whatever reason and the remote fell off of the woofer port.
I know it is not helpful, but felt the need to share the story ... I guess you should look at some unusual places ...

Omate Truesmart - Shoddy build. Beware

My Kickstarter Omate Truesmart arrived yesterday. Super excited.
Today I wore it as a wristwatch for the first time. Within 2 hours, just wearing it on a standard tube journey, nothing untoward or unusual - not banged or something- it had lost the power button. [Edit: By this I mean it's fallen off and gone missing, if that's not clear!] I now can't turn it on.
On the plus side, the battery life is amazing. You'll never have to charge it - the battery is good for the lifetime of the device!
Now how do I contact Omate and tell them this isn't right?
UPDATE: OMATE did indeed swap the watch for a working one in the end. It took a while, but they are worth talking to with issues. Credit to em, in the end.
Try unscrewing the back and press the battery in whilst trying to turn it on. Some of the watches seem to be a bit loose. If it works, you'll probably need to wedge a bit of card between the battery and the watch back.
Have you tried the other battery?

How does this solve the problem of the power button falling off and going missing? *baffled*
Perhaps I should have been more explicit. This isn't a software bug. The button fell off in casual wear. As per subject line: Shoddy build. All there is now is a hole in the side of the watch.

Post a picture, people will understand it better. For some, english is not their first language.
Regarding warranty issue, contact them through one of the emails: http://omate.com/contacts.html or go to their official forum and ask people for advice. I'm sure someone will chime in with a suggestion. I'm not doubting you, but still have a hard time understanding how that button can fall out since it supposed to go inward.
Thanks. I sent an email to them. Bit worried that some people have had trouble contacting them though.

For the record, despite several attempts to elicit a response from Omate on several email addresses, I've received no meaningful reply from them on this.

Saw the image posted. It looks like you lost not only the button but the stainless steel bushing that was compression seated into the case. I tried to remove the button and bushing from the case on one and gave up when I started looking for a hammer. Even though it sucks, I would consider you experience the exception and not the rule.

That's something. Though little consolation. Someone else over on the Omate forums says he's lost the power button as well. So there's more than one gone this way...
The news is that Omate finally wrote back:

Thanks

After some communication, and MUCH waiting, they finally came through and got my watch replaced. I now have a power button! Woo!
So yes - it's worth persevering. I think they are probably understaffed, and rather busy, and you must be very patient; but they do the right thing by customers in the end.

Z3v Overheating

My phone has been over heating. A LOT. Even with basic use. No gaming or anything. Anyone experience this? I called tech and they were no help. Told me to run in safe mode and remove my SD card..... Ya that won't work for me.
Thinking about full wipe but I dread resetting up everything.

I haven't had any issues like that. Only over heading I experienced were while using car navigation while wireless charging. You can try shopping cache plus restart to see if something is stuck, or if you have a new installation freeze that and see if things get better.
Another thing to look at is detailed battery use, see if there is any surprises. Many times the app that causes heating will also cause faster battery drain. If you can't find the app then full wipe may be needed.
Edit: one other question, did you change case recently? some cases don't transfer heat as well.
I did. A lot. Got to the point that I could take one picture and the camera would shut off because it was over heating. Hard reset didn't fix anything. I also had wireless problems (wifi would never stay off, airplane mode didn't work), and battery life was pretty poor (coming from Note 2). Replacement phone seems much better on all counts.
Thanks for the info guys. No case on the phone. Still working on rooting and playing with Xposed.... Maybe something there will help.... Or just have Verizon send a new one. I really do love this phone... So hopefully I can resolve this.... Maybe lollipop will help... If we ever get it....

Update
So had Verizon send me a new phone..... Have had it a day and a half and have already seen signs of over heating...... Granted it's close to 100 outside..... But I've been in the car with AC using GPS and it was getting really warm. I've had SEVERAL other phones with the same or more heavy usage with no over heating issues......
Not sure what to do. If it keeps up I'm going to have to consider a new phone....
Anyone know of any risks using the phone when it's over heating??? It's not going to explode or catch fire is it???

Think your problem is the same as mine. Motor stop working randomly and start doing is job again in the same way.
Thought was a software problem, realized is an hardware one since i noticed that, when he stop vibrating, if i shake the phone, hes starting again.

You can send your phone in a xiaomi center. I saw you are from india, so you should have no problem. I'm from italy, this means i've to sent it back to china and wait a life to get it back. This is why i didnt resolved the problem and i lost interess on it
Think i'm going to wait the expire of the warranty and try to fix it by my own: i saw some videos and already tried to open the device, it shouldn't be difficult

I opened up my phone.
If you are not an advance user or don't have experience how to deal with phone hardware, I recommend you to go o service centre.
Otherwise you want to do yourself then first of all you have to check that if the motor is working or not. If the motor is working then you have to check the connection points the problem with me was because of loose connections and the motor was not tighten. Just check these points and you are good to go.
PS :- I always recommends to go to service centre because opening the phone voids the warranty
This is my situation.
(If the video doesnt work, follow the link https://youtu.be/bzCTTU_iF6w directly).
