USB Audio issue & Xposed installation Arm64
While I am loving having a standard android experience on my Shield Android TV, I don't seem to get any audio out via USB. The DAC I am using is locked to 24 bit 96khz and shows as being synchronised but I get no audio. Audio is still coming out of HDMI. Everything worked with standard firmware. The setting for preventing automatic USB audio routing in developer settings is switch off... anyone have the same issue and know how to resolve?
Also - as mentioned by another poster - I am receving an error when trying to install Xposded. The error message suggests that it is looking for the arm (32bit) version rather than the 64bit. I am pretty certain we should be using Arm64 - so am I doing something stupid when trying to install via TWRP?

Still not getting USB audio (24bit/96k) in the latest versions of the ROM. Is this a problem for anyone else? Really need USB audio so will need to go back to stock if this isn't going to be resolved. Happy to try and help with any troubleshooting.

How works the rom with USB DVB-T tunner? somebody test it? Kodi recognizes it without special apps?

Messed up big
Hello all.
So I followed this guide but I messed up on one crucial step. Instead of just wiping user data and cache I also wiped (system). In any case I was able to flash the ROM and it fully boots with all the sweet animations but it boots to a black screen. I only see the mouse and that's all.
If I hold the power button I only get the option to power off.
Any tips?
Note: very inexperienced with Android but overall technically inclined

I have two questions.
1. I tested Ethernet,the rom can‘t work in 1000m,only 100m
2.vpn not use
3. I want to use nfs. But found no nfs file manager。
thanks!
could someone with privileges incluye a thread about dvb-t and dvb-t2 tests?
I'm noob in xda and have not publish 10 post yet
But I think it would be interesting to check the stv
capabilities with USB dvb t/t2 tunners especially
with the complete lollipop room
If the kernel includes all the requested modules
I will try to install a tvheadend to stream TV to
all the devices..... Like hdhomerun but with a 30$ tuner
With the x1 CPU I'm sure that can to connect 2
or more tunners to do pvr or stream different channels to devices
Thanks in advance and excuse me if is not the place to post this message

Gapps..?
I've rooted and installed the rom and working well. Very nice work! I am having problems installing Gapps. Perhaps it's the wrong version. The link sends you to a github link and I've used that. After flashing that gapps I still have no google services. Can you provide the gapps file name I need to download? thanks much
Fire TV box remote pairs fine
Was able to pair the Fire TV remote with this rom. Go into pairing, hold home button down on remote and refresh. Works great.
Hello guys. This rom is great, but I don't have Dolby digital sound anymore after flashing it. Anyone with the same issue? Any advice to solve it? Thanks.

Nvidia Shield controller no longer works after full Android is installed on Shield TV
I was able to install full Android on the Nvidia Shield TV. The problem I have now is that the Nvidia Shield controller no longer works. Is there any app available that would enable the Shield controller to work with the full Android on the Shield TV?
Thanks Zulu for the amazing work.
Any chance you could post the source for your ROM? I would love to do some hacking on it.

Nope, see the OPs post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62443196&postcount=233
Would this run decent with a 2gb Octa core Android box or is it specific for a nvidia box?
I would jump on this like a shot if the wireless controller worked

Hi, if you searched for it on Google and XDA (as I just did to check), it likely has not been rooted yet. Sorry! The best thing you could do is to google search and search XDA every week or so, maybe something will turn up soon!
I might get one of these, as they're $100 on Target's website for Cyber Monday.
Not enough people have them for someone to invest the time into rooting, but a common root method might work...

Got mines at walmart for $79. I have the same kernel as him except my firmware version is 4.0.3.
Still can't find anything on this damn tablet. Almost wish I didn't buy it heheh.
Supposedly root is available on M-270 but I still can't install Superuser. su is present in xbin too. I tried to use superoneclick and it said it was rooted then I tried to continue with root anyway and it froze. Has anyone had this problem and found a solution yet?

I successfully rooted my Maylong M270 by using the software in the linked thread. I was able to install Google Play, and from there I updated SuperUser and BusyBox. Titanium Backup works properly. Without a custom kernel, overclocking is impossible for the moment, and I'm not too sure on how a kernel (or custom recovery and ROM for that matter) can be ported, but the root is here and working.

I call bogus on this post. I tried both means to root the Maylong M270 using this method and it does not work. Instead of just posting "I DID IT", why not help out the users and post HOW you did it... simply following the links and downloads on the post you've referenced doesn't do it.

I know it's been way long since the OP, but a tool called "ICS root" (can be found on SourceForge) will unlock this tablet. The device is a bit temperamental so once you run the .bat in terminal, you will have to manually restart and log back into the tablet before continuing each prompt at the terminal. Eventually after 2 -3 prompts, the .bat will be finished and the tablet will "update Android", a sign that you have successfully rooted.
Good luck all.

However, I'm not allowed to post links, since I have not posted before. So I'm going to post this info in a series of posts, hoping that by the end, links will be allowed.
To find more info on your tablet there is an app in the Play store called CPU Identifier that will tell you what type of board you have in the tablet. Search for that board name on XDA to find rooting advice.

Custom ROM and ROOT for Maylong M-270
But the short story is, there is a way to root this tablet, but even better there is a custom ROM available. HardcoreHacker over at "techknow dot me" has been working hard on this. The key to figuring this out was realizing the WM8950 SOC chip set used in this tablet is the same as the WM8850. They are interchangeable. The rom is called Uberoid and is Jellybean 4.1.1, and it works great. My tablet runs very well now, and doesn't lock up all the time like it used to. I also have a link where you can download the original firmware from Maylong. So I'm trying to get some posts here so I can do a proper link, however here are some ugly links to try.
Original Firmware:
maylonggroup dot com forward slash Tablet_downloads.htm
and Uberoid Link
3w's "dot" techknow "dot" me "forward slash" forum "forward slash" index.php?topic=5356.0
Again, I apologize for the very cryptic links - I will work on getting them posted properly. I have two of these tablets and both are running Uberoid. I'm very satisfied with it. The only issue I have (on both tablets) is the battery monitoring is very poor. But this is in the kernel I think because it is the same as it was before the custom ROM.
NOTE! - as you will see on the Maylong Site, there are two different models of this tablet - You can tell which you have based on your serial number, but I think this is a pretty important distinction. If you have the same model as I do, you are going to need JingHan_MID7_V715_8228_FT5206.fwc from the Uberoid List. My model's serial number is M2701204 which is in the same group as M2701202, M2701203, and M2701205)

G02 kernel source and config
Hi,
Thanks for these ROMs - working great on my ATV1220 (G02).
Please could you point me at the source code and config used for the kernel build? I see some kernel repos at https://github.com/CoreTech-Development but none that seem new enough given that the release changelog suggests that a kernel from March 2014 is being used.
Has anyone tested any of these roms on Bluetimes MX5 G02ref box.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56366456&postcount=211
G02REF
I beleive on page 72 of MX-Linuxs thread it stated that gotham-beta2 was a working broadcom version on a droidstick a2
now yes i can get rc1 to work no problem but with no connection it was useless last year.
Excited reading about Vitaly_S work i flashed an old A2 stick laying around with BETA 2 (didnt work) and the next comment as an updated build MX_LINUX-G02REFDONGLE_170514.....
I apprecite everyone and anyones work over the past year roughly as i was watching this thread from the beginning
IE.. croniccorey and vitaly_S
just wanted to share that after upgrading screen goes black then after restarting stick its a greenish yellow.
so the AM6086A ------ A2 stick is not complient with this release
Thanks guys, any ideas otherwise please let me know.

Mygica atv1200 rebooting over and over
I tried to install the mx Linux build for atv1200 posted in the forum here. it said to run the conversion file first then flash the latest release for geniatech/mygica atv1200. I made the sdcard up following the instructions in the readme file included. when I popped the sdcard in and did the upgrade process, it booted to a screen with the Linux penguin, and a yellow progress bar. I seemed to finish then reboot. but it has been doing that same process over and over for the last hour, and it seems not to be working. I tried to revert back to android but it would not boot. I tried making bootable sdcard with geniatech uboot bin, and mygica rom, but it woin't boot. then I made the sdcard with the mx Linux conversion files again, and it boots, but just keeps rebooting with the penguin screen and the progress bar. any help would be greatly appreciated. seems like there are not a lot of people having the same problem cause I cannot find a solution anywhere.

Amlogic M3
I managed to flash an early xios linux "the hydra" xbmc onto my amlogic droid stick but the wifi is completely gone which makes it hard to do anything. For some reason my unit doesn't have a bootloader, nor a reset button (so i'm doing the advancedlauncher -> sh -> reboot recovery way in xbmc) and there doesn't seem to be any other recovery roms available for it.
Figured i'd try the M3 linux from here, but apparently this is configured to assert a getprop for specific hardware. I can change that myself, but when i sign the zip my unit refuses to go past that verification. With this rom the signing verification is fine, but assertion fails. I can fix that myself but how did you go about and sign the zip? I've tried a few different ways (apksigner, jarsigner) to no avail. There is very little information on what recovery (3e) actually checks, any clues on how to resolve that? (All it says is signature verification failed when i sign, with test keys and self made other keys).

Codesnake help needed
I have a square s802 M8. I recently tried several different OpenELEC zips, most zips received NO FOOTER errors and would not install but most of the ones that did install, did not have any access to wireless networks under OpenELEC settings. Including Codesnakes ROMs. They would not allow access to wireless networks. So, I finally came across a Russian zip on xbmc.ru that installed and it is the latest developer zip found at: OpenELEC-Amlogic.S82.arm-devel-20150113183017-r20272-g0481f0c.zip. After zipping it to the s802, I realized it is for the S82. It still worked but it seems to have some bugginess. It is getting stuck on the opening stream window and the working spinning wheel is getting stuck too often. I am used to Stane's MX Linux and got spoiled with speed. Please help, I need a network working .zip with audio/video synced properly and speed. Any suggestions on a more suitable ROM zip? All of codesnake's OpenELEC ROMs seem to not have wireless networks enabled. Is there a way to have ethernet hooked up after installing codesnake's zip and then get wireless by downloading a network setting addon or enabling an OpenELEC setting feature??

Hello Oma, first of all thanks for your work. I flashed ROM for my Yuandao N101 II tab based ono your work I got from VonDroid - unfortunately the touch screen didn't work. It worked neither with your rom nor with the newes original firmware. As this was described by some other folks there - for some specific sub-model maybe - and as the touchscreen works with an older stock-rom - this seems to be software-related.
Is there any possibility to overcome this issue? The firmware that is working gives me infrequent hangs for no reason and was described as buggy by other users, too.
Thanks a lot in advance for your help

Again the unresponsive touch screen
Hi @ all, as specified in my last post there is a difficulty with the touchscreen with a version of omars great fw that has been ported to VonDroid with minour changes. So, to find out if my tablet's touchscreen can work with this fw, I dug a bit deeper and located the touch screen driver.
input: Goodix Capacitive TouchScreen as
/devices/virtual/input/input3
<<-GTP-INFO->> GTP Driver Version:V1.0<2012/05/01>
<<-GTP-INFO->> GTP chip version:GT81XNI_3R19_000
The only documentation I could find so far is that documentation for this device is lousy and chaotic as is supply with drivers... seems to be quite a fair description. Until now, I found no way to locate additional hints about what touch screen might be built in my tab. Neither online nor on the tablet itself.
Anyhow, some questions came to my mind on and on again, as the last fw supporting the touchscreen is a tiny little bit buggy:
Might there be a chance that the specified touch screen works with the fw? If no: Is there a possibility to configure the fw in a way that it will work?
It would be very nice to find out more on that as I don't want to simply do the same procedure as I did last time: spending about two days to install the same old buggy fw in the end. This is definitely not satisfying.
Thanks a lot for any hint - I tested the fw with mouse and keyboard, but that's no way for working long time if you know you've got a touchpad. Nonetheless, it was long enough to get quite surprised what my tablet is capable to do - and willing to do some work for having these capabilities
Meanwhile, I'll dig deeper

USB Host Modem
Hello
I'm using OmniRom 4.4.4. v1.3 on my rk3066 PiPo Max M1. It works flawlesly, but there is one thing that bothers me. With stock 4.2.2 chinese rom I've been using usb modem(HUAWEI) to connect to the internet, which I've been connecting to HOST port.
After flashing OmniRom, the usb modem does not work. It does show up in USB Host Controller app, the storage in stick, works too, but it won't find mobile network. It gives me an error when searching for network.
Is there some setting that I should set or anything else to get it to work?

Before flashing anything do a backup from your stock firmware. You can google about how.
Usually changing the kernel.img for the stock of your tablet and flashing the ROM it might work (sometimes wifi, etc. Not). Also is important to know if your kernel is 3.0.8+ or 3.0.36+.
Cheers
I have a problem
Hi Oma! I have an Manta MID702 , but when i install your cm 10.1 on it, it boots, but i cant use the tablet cause there is a message: android.com.phone process has stopped. It reappears every time i close it. What can i do? Thanks in advice
To sum it up once more: I've got a touch screen that works with the original firmware but won't respond on the other roms. Problem: The original firmware is lagging and quite frequently simply coming to a halt.

Replacing the boot file
Hello, I am the user of a samsung galaxy exhilerate. I was very excited to find this page so that the CM roms could work again. However I unzip the folder replace the boot file and rezip the folder and upon attempting install the installation is aborted shortly after starting. Is there something I have to do to the file besides rezip it? Sign it or something like that? I have read some tutorials about zipping apk files but nothing on zip files. Any help would be appreciated.
Edit: Downloaded winRAR which allowed me to open the zip file, replace the boot file and unlike doing this by default in windows the signature was still present, so I am good.
My other question: Why aren't the people posting these nightlies aware of the issue? I'm probably not understanding something about the development process because I am new to it, but I can't figure this out.
Edit: I would also like to report a bug in kitkat 4.4.4 on my samsung galaxy exhilerate. I am using the cyanogen mod nightly from Oct 31, 2014 with the boot file provided in this thread to make it work.
The issue is with bluetooth, when I make calls I only hear some popping noise when iniating the call, no words ever come through and they cannot hear me on the other end either. This worked fine with stock ICS but I have had these issues with 4.4.4 and cyanfox unofficial 4.4.2. While using my phone to make calls in my car through ford SYNC bluetooth works fine when I am called but does not work for outgoing calls, very strange as this is in contrast to it not working at all with my headsets (I have an old headset and a new one purchased last week)
I have found a this information from the android police website:
"For the first few years Android relied on BlueZ, a "protocol stack" originally developed by Qualcomm for the Linux operating system. Despite many limitations and missing features, BlueZ served admirably until Android 4.2 launched with a new stack dubbed Bluedroid, a project built jointly by Google and Broadcom."
My Exhilerate uses a Qualcomm for 4G as illustrated by a sticker on top of the phone (perhaps this hardware vendor is the same for the bluetooth function?) In this case it would stand to reason that moving to a broadcom based software after Android 4.2 could cause some issues for this phone. Is there any way to either use the old pre- android 4.2 software for bluetooth while keeping the other software the same, or better yet is there a workaround to get my phone to work with the broadcom based software?
So I recently got an Exhilarate and want to put a rom on it. I did CM on my previous phone so I'm not entirely new at this, however that one was a stable release.
I'm interested in Carbon for this phone but I'm wondering if there's any outstanding issues? I'd read that in the early days there were issues with the camera and sound. Are these resolved? Any others I should know about? I'd like to know before rooting my phone.
Thanks!

I have had that same crazy Bluetooth issue on every custom ROM on the Exhilarate (JB & Kitkat). I've searched all over the place for a solution and come up empty. It's my only issue besides not having enough internal storage space.

The Exhilarate is a whole new phone with a kitkat ROM. I highly recommend CarbonROM with the Uber kernel (hyperlink in my signature). A strange Bluetooth in-call audio problem as discussed above is the only significant issue; Bluetooth works just fine for all other audio. Note...the July 31st nightly was the last one that will boot properly without replacing the boot.img file.
Camera works fine, however barcode scanning apps will show a black screen but still work.
Speaker volume is a bit low. Headset volume is reasonable.
boot.img
I think the boot.img link is broken. Can you upload the boot.img one more time please.

Don't flash it. You need to delete the "bad" boot.img from the ROM zip file and copy this one into the zip file. Use a compression utility app like ZArchiver to do that. You can find it on the play store.

...how do I flash the boot.img?

Anyone? Plz tell me how to do it.
The device is already rooted from the factory. Just install super user and update the binaries.
Beelink mini mxiii change rom
Thnks for the info.
Can you please tell if it is possible to change the rom?
Again, thank you.
Just in case anyone is still figuring out to root/upgrade this - I managed to install Android 6.0.1 on my mini mx-g (16/2) by flashing Ugoos AM1 1.1.1 from their official website here; Mini mx (8/1) can flash AM2 1.1.1 instead
To flash TWRP, you'll need KIII Pro Android 6 TWRP which you can get from the file attached... (unable to find the original thread link! ):
SuperSU will be pre-installed in the above rom, but one can also install magisk by flashing the TWRP and getting the boot.img file from the file browser (also attached mine if it helps)
I also wanted to enable sony dual shock wireless support which was possible after following the guide in this amazing blog - Connecting ps4 dualshock joystick via Bluetooth to Android
Hope this helps someone!
Bonus: My intention was to run Google Stadia, unfortunately device too weak.
