Your english is fine.
To overclock the CPU, you need a custom kernel that supports CPU overclocking. If you're using a stock rom, use a stock kernel, otherwise use an AOSP kernel.
I don't recommend overclocking this phone in particular. It has heat damage issues (can damage digitalizer at specific temperatures).
Overclocking in general is a good idea, but bad for phones. Remember that the temperature rises very quickly with slight voltage additions. Therefore, the CPU will be throttled instantly to a lower frequency (ie: 1497MHz) anyway to prevent damage. It also drains the battery that much quicker.

Quad core (armv8?) @ what? 2.5Ghz if I'm not mistaken. Dude that should already be plenty fast. Honestly most people overclock older devices to give them that last shining chance to go down. Your G2 isn't dated by any means and is still up with the crowd as far as hardware goes.

G2's cpu is still good enough for most tasks without compromising any performance issues.

[Q] Is it worth to overclock right now?

Right now the jump between 1ghz to 1.1ghz shows no real world benefit. I have a couple of questions:
1. Does overclocking to 1.1ghz effect the battery enought to see a difference?
2. Does undervolting save battery enough to see a difference?
3. If i have a custom kernal but still running at 1ghz, will the battery be the same/worse/better then runnning 1ghz on stock kernel
4. Does undervolting have any negative effects on performance
Thanks in Advance!! XDA RULES!!

Why not try it out and make this thread a log of your results?

Not trying to be rude, but does not answer my question. Why go through the procedure when someone who has already done it or has experience with it is kind enough to post answers.

1 Yes it does, but the phone only uses that frequency when pushed to limits, so not much.
2 Yes, i believe it does.
3 I found faux kernel to drink my battery like water even oj stock clock. Edgan's didnt have that problem.
4 it may cause random reboots if ur UV lvls are beyond the phone's capabilities.
Ps1: hes got a point, all impressions are too personal, they dont translate to universal experience.
Ps2: the greatest use of OC on the atrix right now is the webtop, that really pushes all possible processing power.

[Q] Set CPU - How to overclock my SGA?

Hey guys,
I have just installed OmegaRom by Team Cooper and what a Rom it is!!! Amazing is an understatement.
Okay so with there new Rom v2, it has an OC kernal built in and it does work...BUT I need to know how to OC the thing safely and squeezing as much performance as possible!
I have it at 825 and min 806 mhz, scaler is performance.
What settings would you pro's recommened?
Thanks!
Edit 1- I am using SetCPU to OC.
"overclock" and "safe" cannot be use in the same sentence, it just wrong.
theres no safe overclocking. moreover each and every device is unique even for the same model.
what is working with others doesnt guarantee it'll works with yours.

What I meant was a stable OC that may work with my phone... I OC computers too so I know the risk's involved. So what I was asking was what OC's worked with peoples phones so I could get a rough idea on how to govern my cpu and OC it without totally messing it up.

i hope u are aware of the ill effects of OCing.....battery takes a real beating....well i have done it upto 886 mhz....many others have done it upto 1ghz mark...but i personally do not recommend...
CPU Tuner
I try CPU Tuner, is similar ti setCPU but is free whit THE END 3.0 custom ROM and use the 864-254 mhz for screen on and 480-122 for screen off whitout problems, previously I use 904 mhz, but sometime it freeze...

Thanks for the comments guys... Gives me a rough estimate on its limits.
So far I have been running 844mhz performance for a while, since I created this thread and the battery has remained at 82%!
I have benched using AnTuTu twice and have excellent read and write speeds, compared to other benchies I have seen, OmegaRom is the best Rom I have ever used!
Cheers,
i tried cpufrills and its the best for me
I don't Think U mustuse over clocking, even my setting was min245 max 902,the effect just draining more battery, and if using to much can damaging ur prosessor
I know you might think what I'm going to write is unnecessary and going to contradict with your believes here. but I'm going say it anyway.
If you are going to use your device for a long time then I would suggest not to overclock too much. You'll know when something will go wrong with your over-clocking. Your SGA would start rebooting randomly. Heating up would be excessively common once you start overclocking, using your SGA while it's charging. Over clocking will definitely reduce your processor life span. People who do can over clock their device to get the max out of their device and know they're going to change the device in sometime later anyway.

Don't worry! Like I said, I have experience O/C'ing processors etc and I know how bad the effects can be! I am not going for a massive overclock at all. Just a tiny bump in the speed. At the moment, I am running 825mhz and already the speed has improved dramatically. I may go a little further but 902mhz is a bit mental for my liking.

Is this safe?

So i've rooted my sgs3 and installed siyah kernel, and today i have overclocked my cpu to 1,6 GHz and my gpu steps are 1. 160MHz, 2. 275MHz, 3. 400MHz, 4. 533MHz, 5. 640 MHz, is this safe in long terms or should i lower those values? I've ran the stress test in set cpu and it showed no errors and i havent experienced any so far, my governor is pegasusq and my scheduler is row, i just want to know what more experienced users think about the values i've set and is there any posibility that i damage my hardwer? Thank you for your response in advance

personally think any overclock is not good thing for hardware. unless you really really need it and doesn't even care about hardware lifetime.
just like human body , if you make some sport slowly and smoothly , your muscles won't be harmed. otherwise , like you have done some sport which is very heavy, you know you will feel your whole body is ache all over in next day, or something like that.
the only different is that your body will recover itself if the damage is not too serious , but phone's hardware does NOT ...
overclocking is never 100% safe

[Q] mtk6582(quad core 1.3gHz) cpu heating up...

hi guys i have a note 3 mediatek device (mtk6582) and when i play games or just using it for more than 30-40 min...it gets really hot, i mean really hott..{90c}....(especially when i'm playing games).
and i think it may be beacause of GPU (mali 400)...but i cant find a way to undervolt it...i think i must have custom kernel to do that...so if anyone knows another method to undervolt the gpu, please tell me.
but i also think that it could be the battery that is not the best quality...and i need someone to tell that if the battery is not that good can this heat up the cpu.(or generally the motherboard)
THANK YOU.

If those devices use overclocked kernel, you can't even guess what will be their benchmark scores. So, let's not compare our device with the might of Mate 20 Pro or Rog Phone. They are way more powerful and advanced.
We are already happy of what we have in this price range and who cares what the benchmark score is.

It will be approximately the same because there's a hard limit on what the sd845 is capable of. Both those phones have the same processor at the end of the day.
Lol idk what the point is benchmarking an unstable kernel on a phone.
likely with fsync off and zram off going to ruin your phone

In the benchmark of the OP has fsync on and zram doesn't ruin your phone if you disable it, until I know.
Antutu means nothing.
Smoothness and stability is the deal.

Get your facts straight before posting misinformation on this forum: Rog phone is also using the same 845 soc but have a little bit better thermal cooling system. maybe it will perform 4-7% better than poco f1 in best case.
Soc 845 soc is still fastest soc availble on market currently and the poco has 1 included
What can You do with this Tutu score? Does it feeds You? Or it's enlarger for Your tiny ..... ?
Can't quite understand those human beings trying to achieve some virtual score - it is only one side of coin. More important is general every day usability. Don't You think so?
Already getting 300084 Antutu Score on Miui 10 8.12.27. No root, nothing custom. Everything stock.

Are you blind or what? The OP showing screenshot of Poco with Extreme kernel that has overclocked CPU of 3.2GHz compared to ROG phone that has 2.8GHz CPU without overclocking. That's what I said. If ROG phone also uses an overclocked CPU with 3.2GHz or something like that, it will destroy his overclocked Poco.
Is it really necessary to jump on commenting (rather indulging others into a fight) without even reading properly? And you are nobody to instruct me what I should do or what I shouldn't. If you have written your comment in a friendly manner, I would have taken it easy.
It would be interesting to see custom ROMs scores too

Where it is written that this kernel can and applies overclock to the sdm845 cpu capable of reaching that frequency?

It is a psychological effect where it increases the intrinsic value of the item thereby creating greater product satisfaction.

I'm on aosp since early days, around 220k antutu, and still happy with the roms around xda than memeUI. Trust me, antutu is almost meaningless now.
