SK17i (rooted) ICS bootloop

Afer a looong wait, upgraded my XMP to official ICS yesterday and rooted in using the method posted by puppet13th HERE.
The problem is that the device enters a bootloop when i connect it to the charger before booting the device. Ideally a screen with a Battery icon should have appeared after the SONY kernel logo. But my device restarts after the kernel logo every time. Then I disconnect the charger, switch the phone on and then connect the charger, everything works fine.I think this might be because of the rooting method that we use for ICS as of now. Any suggestion on solving this problem will be appreciated.
Also I would like to mention some of the other bugs that I noticed in ICS.
1) Contacts app has a bug. When I try to add contacts to groups, searching by name, the contacts keeps appearing and disappearing (kind of flickering), also the letters that I type in the search box gets cleared all by itself.
2)Battery icon and low level notification has some bugs. I got the first notification for battery low (below 15%), and the next minute I see, my phone has switched off. When I turn it on I see the empty battery logo in red colour with red glow. Using Battery calibration may solv this problem, because while rooting by puppet13th method we don't do a factory reset. So the ROM is upgraded without erasing user data.

/data/local.prop has been deleted. Device is rooted. I will check again after doing a factory reset if the device enters a bootloop or not while charging when the phone is off...
Thanks for the rooting tutorial for ICS

Just extract charger.zip and copy the charger file [In the attachments] to your phone's system\bin and replace the charger file . YOU can use x-plore or root explorer..

[FIX]BootLoop while Offline[Switched-Off] Charging Xperia MiNi Pro [Rooted ICS]

Hi,
Are You experiencing bootloop [on-off] every time when you plug-in your phone to the charge when it is switched-off... ??
This problem may have occurred after rooting your Mini Pro on Ice Cream Sandwich ?
Solution to this problem :
[1] Download and extract the Charger.zip file in the attachments.
[2] Copy the extracted charger file to your phone SD card.
[3] Use X-Plore or Root explorer to copy the charger file on SD card to system\bin\ [Just Replace It] on phone memory.
[4] Done ! No Need to reboot..
This Method has been tested on my Xperia Mini Pro and its working !!

What? Rooting will not cause that I suppose. It might be CWM which is disabling offline charging. That is possible. I will test soon and report back.
Edit:
Okay. I just now checked. It's true. Offline Charging is not working with ICS when CWM is installed at /system as in nAa's method. Will ask some more users to test.
Thanks,
Rick

that problem also persists in my rooted LWW, hope this works.
EDIT: Charging while phone-off now works! Don't forget to change the permissions.
I root my Sony Live With Walkman phone, when I received ICS update. That mean two or one months ago. So for no issue. Today I installed CWM recovery using SE Extreme Tweak toolkit. After that I wipe battery stats. Now I face this issue. I think its CWM issue, not rooting.
Yes, this method fix it. Thanks friend.

If you are on stock ICS kernel, just install cwm from xparts. It works fine for me on lww ICS rooted and ofcourse offline charging is working fine. And nAl's recovery is also working fine with working offline charging. Maybe the problem is the custom kernel you flashed !!

LwW doesn't charge
I installed cwm on my LwW by the xparts app. And it worked. I used the phone for like one hour, and the battery was about 50%. I puted it on charger for a whole night, the phone was on. But it turned off somehow, and now my battery is completely drained. I try to put the charger and turn it on, but when gets to homescreen, it turn off. Without the charger, the led blinks red and doesn't turn on. What should I try?
-Edit
I tried to charge the battery with an universal charger, and it is now with 55%, and I copied the file to the directory, and now it appears to be charging while phone is off, but not increase the percentage. And when its on, the thunder under the battery is there, but the led isnt orange, nor the system shows that's charging. Do you know what it could be?

[Q] Doogee DG2014 and 1% battery problem

hi all folks
first of all, sorry for my bad engilsh.
i have the phone in the subject (MTK based phone), and as many other owner of this phone i have problem with KK firmware and battery level indicator.
the problem is: every time phone is turned off and power on again, it start at 1% battery level.
it is a fake battery level indication, because battery voltage is read correctly by any app with this feature.
i found who is the guilty: rom module LK.BIN (uboot)
as many DG2014 owner i must use LK.BIN from JB rom to have display working, with LK.BIN from KK rom i have only random lines on display.
i done some experiment and at the end i'm sure with LK.BIN from the original KK rom i don't have the 1% battery problem, because there isn't the sound alarm on startup, and beacuse using program MyPhoneExplorer, after connecting phone to PC i can see on PC the correct battery level. with the same proggram i see 1% battery level when bad LK.BIN is running on phone.
after these test i'm searcing for a solution, but is hard to me, so i'm now here to ask your help.
with a binary editor i see inside LK.BIN.
>> In KK version there are 3 LCD driver
1- hct_nt35521_dsi_vdo_hd_jdi
2- hct_nt35521_dsi_vdo_hd_lg
3- otm1283a_dsi_vdo_hd_boe
>> in JB versione only 2 LCD driver
1- hct_nt35521_dsi_vdo_hd_jdi
2- hct_nt35590_dsi_cmd_hd_auo
correct driver for my phone is the number 1 in either LK.BIN versions, but i don't know why, when KK version is on phone, it choice the driver number 2, as reported by MtkDroidTool.
there is a way to force off autodetection and manually specify the display driver to use ?
I answer by myself.
Here my modified LK.BIN:

Hope this can be useful for other people.

Charging issues in custom roms

All the custom roms i use seems to have charging problems... My phone wont charge like it used to in miui.. i googled and found out the battery temperature has to fall below 40°C to enable fast charging.. But i found out the battery temperature remains constant at 40-41° even when no apps are running.. So even though its showing the phone is charging the battery actually drains.. i have used lineage os, pixel experience, crdroid , also tried ressurection remix but that was broken. Nonetheless all the custom roms were failing at the charging.. Rest everything was proper and smooth.. Just due to this problem i reverted back to miui developer rom and everything seems fine.. Does anybody know what went wrong?
I faced similar issue on custom rom (havoc) and after disabling USB Debbugging from developer option , I was fine.
I am assuming you are charging with given cable/adapter
After install custom Rom is recommended to calibrate the battery. Make sure battery percentage in twrp and in Rom is same. Delete batterystat.bin from file manager of Twrp, then charge battery to full 100%. While charger connected, boot into system. After finish booting remove charger.
Greenify will help stop unused background apps. FDE.AI (magisk module) also help for Android optimizer, should help for battery saving.
