Charging issues in custom roms - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

All the custom roms i use seems to have charging problems... My phone wont charge like it used to in miui.. i googled and found out the battery temperature has to fall below 40°C to enable fast charging.. But i found out the battery temperature remains constant at 40-41° even when no apps are running.. So even though its showing the phone is charging the battery actually drains.. i have used lineage os, pixel experience, crdroid , also tried ressurection remix but that was broken. Nonetheless all the custom roms were failing at the charging.. Rest everything was proper and smooth.. Just due to this problem i reverted back to miui developer rom and everything seems fine.. Does anybody know what went wrong?

I faced similar issue on custom rom (havoc) and after disabling USB Debbugging from developer option , I was fine.
I am assuming you are charging with given cable/adapter

After install custom Rom is recommended to calibrate the battery. Make sure battery percentage in twrp and in Rom is same. Delete batterystat.bin from file manager of Twrp, then charge battery to full 100%. While charger connected, boot into system. After finish booting remove charger.
Greenify will help stop unused background apps. FDE.AI (magisk module) also help for Android optimizer, should help for battery saving.

[Q] Battery calibration issue after rom change

I loose the correct battery calibration after rom change (the battery drop of 20% in 2 hours with no use).
I decided to flash a new rom, so can you tell me when i flash the rom if the phone has to be under charge? full charge? so to have the correct calibration ( the last time i flash with the phone under usb charge at 75%)
Thank you all
Have you tried the "wipe battery stats" from the custom recovery menu? It's the closest to a solution I can find. Haven't tried it myself though.
Wipe Stats
Yes i have tried and now i'm in the first battery cycle with no changes, but probably if it works i'll in the second cycle.
Otherwise i like to update to void delta, currently i'm using the second version of void.
Thanks

[Q] Need Support

hello , i have a question, i have an samsung galaxy s3, it is loaded with
googy max kernel 1.7.3
android 4.1.2
basebandver. i9300ceemg2
but recently it acts wierd
the phone de-charge pretty fast, even when connected to charger or usb device it decharge if phone is on,
on full charged battery you see it de-charge pretty fast like 1% every 10-15 mins,,
i can't charge the phone while its on i need to turn it off in order to charge the battery
what i have done sofar is
swap original charger to an other one
changed usb cable
resetted the kernel to stock
but none helped sofar,
could this be that the battery is broken? or that there is an process that takes alot power im not aware off? or is charging firmware related that the firmware encountered a bug ?

Could be a number of things causing your problem...I would suggest making sure you are on stock rom and kernel and install one of these apps >> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats << PAID or >> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gsamlabs.bbm << FREE. You can monitor your phone to see if any app is draining your battery ( would give it at least 24hrs to test) then if it is a app you can uninstall or delete that app.
It sounds like to me it could be battery or hardware problem especially with you returning to stock and also discharging while plugged in..

Then you need to return to stock to see if the problem is still there if it is then most probably hardware issue.

Give it a try it nothing to lose and (don't forget to backup your data) use a battery stats software after you have reset. If the problem is still there and its not any apps that are causing you problems flash to stock to be 100% sure it's not software....

Wipe both (backup contacts and data first) but if it is draining that fast most likely hardware or battery (suggest new battery first)

Note 5 (SM-N920C) Idle drain fast

I unrooted my phone but after that battery drain fast
and i checked battery usage and found that display and Android os media server stay wake and high battery drain please i need solution without rooting again i need official firmware
this is not official firmware, but it does work. i recommend you get the latest cyanogenmod out for your device. it's built with extra tweaks to maximize performance and save battery. or you could flash battery saving mods. either way you'll need custom recovery
Your other option would be to root and use xposed framework and get modules to save battery. and for rooting you will generally need a custom recovery, or you could use apps like kingroot, i think kingoroot works better than kingroot for samsung devices.
also turn your brightness down.

[Solved] Battery % indicator stuck.

Hi,
I was using my phone as tether (usb).
I unplug my phone And some times later it shutdown showing 0% battery's boot screen. I know that was wrong.
So I plug in phone, reboot And immediatly see that phone show 20% charge. After 2 hours, phone remain at 20%
I use it all the Day And battery's indicator don't drop.
Battery stamina is the same as before.
Apps see it as "good"
I try to reflash previous And stock rom, Wipe dalvik And data.
Nothing change.
Phone remain with full life battery but at 20 %
So I don't know the real %
And I don't know if Quick charge drop or not. This May be dangerous.
Any idea / solution ?
Thanks to read
Try this,
Open up the phone app, and type *#*#7378423#*#* . You will get into the service menu. Go into Service Info -> Factory Charging. What % do you get?
Required level 50%
Present level 20%
Factory charging unfinished
Please connect the charger ( or Factory charging is going on, Please. Wait)

how many sony telemtery services do you have disabled? diagnostics: sonymobile.devicemonitor and sonymobile.phoneusage give info to sonymobile.support and also to What's New and Lounge... when I had disabled permissions for support, i couldn't see any usage data until i opened Whats New and Lounge permission to storage and phone... this was when I was experimenting which apps i could disable without root and not cause the settings menu to crash
another thing to try is [Power + Vol Up] cache clear
When you flashed the Stock ROM again, did you leave (if you got one) the custom kernel on?
I would strongly suggest you completely flash the device anew with flashtool including the kernel.sin, even temporarily locking the bootloader. If it's still stuck then it's not a software problem and the battery controller might be wonky.

Yes I leave the custom kernel.
I had add a new battery, and all works fine now.
so I think this is the battery's controler that is dead .

battery drain turned off

short story:
from offical rom to havoc os 2.5 flashed some kernel. notice that the phone when was turned off if was draining the battery.
flashed orange fox recovery did full wipe, including data. flashed back the "miui_HMNote4XGlobal_V10.2.3.0.NCFMIXM_e1a82195b6_7.0" via orange. rebooted. installed magisk and removed the usual's app that i remove from miui. i notice that the phone still draining when is turned off.
every time i try to use the redmi note 4 for going to exercise i notice the battery is drained because the RN7 is to heavy to go in shorts.
atm i'm going doing clean install via mi tool. but in case the mi tool doesn't work i will use the fastboot commands.
is there any way that i can check what is causing it?
flash fresh rom. if it still drain battery, your board might be broken. i noticed a lot of RN4 draining batttery even with fresh rom with no apps, no gapps and no sim/wifi. roughly 20% battery lost overnight.
