battery drain turned off - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

short story:
from offical rom to havoc os 2.5 flashed some kernel. notice that the phone when was turned off if was draining the battery.
flashed orange fox recovery did full wipe, including data. flashed back the "miui_HMNote4XGlobal_V10.2.3.0.NCFMIXM_e1a82195b6_7.0" via orange. rebooted. installed magisk and removed the usual's app that i remove from miui. i notice that the phone still draining when is turned off.
every time i try to use the redmi note 4 for going to exercise i notice the battery is drained because the RN7 is to heavy to go in shorts.
atm i'm going doing clean install via mi tool. but in case the mi tool doesn't work i will use the fastboot commands.
is there any way that i can check what is causing it?

flash fresh rom. if it still drain battery, your board might be broken. i noticed a lot of RN4 draining batttery even with fresh rom with no apps, no gapps and no sim/wifi. roughly 20% battery lost overnight.

I'am having xperia mini pro ( mango ). Several weeks I was using FXP's CM 7.2, later decided to try LegacyXperia's CM 10.1, Installed it perfectly. Later that day noticed my battery drains very fast.. like 1 percent per 2~4 minutes. Thought to go back to CM 7.2, reflashed back succesfuly and the bug apeared.. I charged my phone to 100 percents, disconnected charger and battery drained to 0 per few seconds, phone turned off, tryed to turn on, but only red light keeps blinking. Connected to charger again, turned phone on, it says "charged" and 100 percent, but after disconnecting charger it dies again, can be my battery damaged or something? Tryed to wipe battery stats and clean phone under battery, nothing helps yet, any suggestions?

Try flashing your stock firmware with Flashtool. See if things are okay. If so, flash Rage kernel for CM7 (using command and not flashtool) and then install CM7. Rage kernel gets the best battery life in my opinion. Note that there are two Rage kernels. One for stock firmware and another for CM.

Fast battery drain of the P9000

I flashed the P9000 from 20160608 rom (rooted) to the new 20160810 rom (unrooted).
After the update everything works fine but the battery capacity is a lot lower. It drains much faster.
Fully loaded, without WiFi, GPS, and bluetooth, and only on stand-by, the battery drains from 100% to 15% in about 12 hours.
Before I unrooted the Phone by flashing it with the 20160810 rom the battery was OK. A full day on stand-by only drained the battery from 100% to 95%.
I did not accept this and flashed it back to the 20160608 rom because I was thinking that the battery would not drain that fast anymore.
Disapointment : The faster draining of the battery stays.
What can I do to get the battery life of the Phone back as it was before the updates ????
Something happened inside the Phone that was caused by flashing the 20160810 rom.
Lately my battery life also decreasad. i uses get 205 screen tiem for 1 hour but it has decreased, so i flashed 20160715 and will test it without fp
On last stock 20160810 rom on 2G network with WiFi my phone was ok.
It worked more than 2 days. But before flashing I made System reset, Full factory reset, Wipe cache partition and Wipe system partition in recavery. Then flash by Flash tool.
I don't know may be this is the reason that phone worked almost 3 days.
Now I am on CM 13 build 5, on this rom everything is ok except battery drain.

Battery percentage going up by it self. Then turns it self off after after 30%.

If I charge it till 100% it remains 100 for couple of hours. then it starts to drain slowly. But after 50% it drains rapidly. like 10% in every 10 minute then turns itself off. This started to happen when I flashed AOSP Xtended rom with Dark Ages kernel.
I have tried removing battery stat by TWRP with cleaning cache and delvik chache. that didnt work. I flashed MIUI 9.8.12 by MI Flashing Tool to clean flash it. that didn't work also. I have tried googling the solution so far I haven't found any solution
I will be so grateful if anyone helps. :crying::crying:

I dont understand how fastboot flashing official global rom is not solving this.

Charging issues in custom roms

All the custom roms i use seems to have charging problems... My phone wont charge like it used to in miui.. i googled and found out the battery temperature has to fall below 40°C to enable fast charging.. But i found out the battery temperature remains constant at 40-41° even when no apps are running.. So even though its showing the phone is charging the battery actually drains.. i have used lineage os, pixel experience, crdroid , also tried ressurection remix but that was broken. Nonetheless all the custom roms were failing at the charging.. Rest everything was proper and smooth.. Just due to this problem i reverted back to miui developer rom and everything seems fine.. Does anybody know what went wrong?
I faced similar issue on custom rom (havoc) and after disabling USB Debbugging from developer option , I was fine.
I am assuming you are charging with given cable/adapter
After install custom Rom is recommended to calibrate the battery. Make sure battery percentage in twrp and in Rom is same. Delete batterystat.bin from file manager of Twrp, then charge battery to full 100%. While charger connected, boot into system. After finish booting remove charger.
Greenify will help stop unused background apps. FDE.AI (magisk module) also help for Android optimizer, should help for battery saving.

Custom Rom Full Charge Problem

Hi everyone,
I have the H930 device. I installed the latest versions of Havoc and Dotos per the instructions. I did a clean install but the phone is not fully charged. Sometimes it gets stuck at 94%, sometimes 96%. Rarely is it fully charged. There is no problem with the stock rom. What do you think is the problem?
