I've also had lots of problems using Sammy Drive and simply gave up after a while...I'd recommend the app Cerberus. You will be astonished about all it's functionality. You can trace the phone, wipe it, turn on the Mic or the cam silently...You can take a photo of the thief while he is looking at the phone (with or without flashlight), you can let the phone play a very loud alarm and take a photo from the front cam, if someone miss it, and so on.
Anyway, there are many apps that accomplish the task much better than Samsung.
Greets.
Can you name some please? Im looking for something with similiar service as samsung dive because i really need it. Thx!

It took me a while of removing and re-adding the samsung account in order to let me turn on that slider in the remote controls menu. I even had to reflash the rom to eliminate the theme as being the cause.
Took me a while but got it working eventually. Glad I did. It works well. Better than WaveSecure.
Thats the problem, the slider works fine but the site doesnt acknolwedge the app.

[Q] Keyboard mic doesn't pause music since Kitkat update? Help?

Since the OTA Kitkat (4.4.2) update of my stock Verizon Galaxy S4 (SCH-i545), when I use the voice-to-text microphone button (Google voice typing) on the stock Samsung keyboard, it does not pause music played by Play Music or Pandora as it used to. I've been through troubleshooting with Samsung and VZW Support, including:
- Clearing cache for S Voice, Google Voice, Samsung Keyboard
- Testing in Safe Mode
- Performing a hard reset of the device
The music pauses for half a second and resumes with the mic active... not cool when listening to music and want to use voice to answer a text message.
VZW last said they want to discuss replacing the phone, but before I go down that rabbit hole, does anyone have any ideas on what to check or change to fix this?
The same thing happened to me. This used to work fine. My guess is it's software related. Replacing the entire phone seems like overkill.
Let's troubleshoot further. I'll keep you updated on anything I try, and obviously if anything fixes it.
EDIT: Found your follow-up thread here. Seems like an update to Google Search was the culprit.

Anyone find a resolution for this? I have same issue on Galaxy S4 I337M (Canada), both stock and custom ROMs using 4.4.2.

Follow that thread; bottom of first page. The problem was an update to Google Search (and thus Google Voice input). Current solution is to downgrade to older version, link in that other thread.

Google Now Everywhere

Think I'll just create the topic here since this forum seems kinda dead.
Was wondering if anyone has updated their Google now app and has gotten the Google Now working on everywhere mode while charging? Seems really cool works on my other devices but having issues on my Galaxy Mega. If someone figures it out let me know please.

Holy hell, I finally fixed the problem. Apparently other applications were interfering with the Google now hotword detection. Just had to force stop the app and that fixed the problem.

Sounds good and sometimes this has to be done to force close a app.

[Q] OK Google Everywhere not working

Hey guys!!
Just got my S6 Edge and loving everything about it so far except...
My Ok Google anywhere isn't working. It's not even presenting me an option to turn it on. Also "enable audio history" option is missing which I know is necessary to get it all working.
I have done a factory reset, enabled and disabled S Voice, primary language English US, and deleted app data etc! I am running a stock Telus Samsunf S edge. I don't know if it's firmware dependent or not.
If anyone can suggest anything else, I'm all ears!!
Thanks in advance!

Looks like they removed it I had it yesterday now it's gone there was a update last night
Ah, that's a shame. At least I'm not the only one!!
Hope they come to their senses and come out with an update to enable it again!
Yep was there yesterday and gone now.
Perhaps it was sucking too much battery? Can't say I really used it that much but it was a cool feature. Will just have to press and hold home button to use it! A bit of a pain!
Found a work around for now...
Using an app called "Now Gesture Tweaks" which allows me to press and hold the home button to activate Voice Search and Nova Launcher gesture "Swipe Up" for Google.
Gives us a similar effect.
voice your disapproval: @S6NoOKGoogle https://twitter.com/S6NoOKGoogle
Don't you guys have "google settings" in your app drawer? All "OK Google" settings are right there.
EDIT: My bad.. deep down to the detection settings, it is gone!! How!? So is this Samsung's fault or Google's fault?
Yup. It's global and it's just all the variants of the S6 & S6 Edge. Some Nexus devices seem to be broken but still have their options.

I used it on a regular daily basis. Very frustrating for them to pull it without notice...
What is even more frustrating is that neither Google or Samsung is taking the heat for this,,,both are referring us to each other LOL,,,classic tactic.

Unfortunately same, not working.
It doesn't work on my Note 2, my wife's S3, and even my coworker's Walmart Alcatel phone alll running Kitkat and all did the latest update.
Its a bigger issue and Google doesn't seem to be too concerned
I got an update yesterday and it is working now, well at least from the homescreen.
Sprint S6 Edge w/Nova Launcher, OK Google works from any screen.
Does the widget need to be on the home screen for it to work

Not for me
Wow, just realized I don't need the widget at all for hotword to work. Cool
supposedly the 5.1.1 update will bring the OK Google functionality back.
Is your S-Voice App activated? Or did you disable that? I've read that either having it on or off might enable OK GOOGLE from any screen to work.

Need advice on android phone for a blind user.

Hi,
So my dad is completely blind and I'm looking for an android phone that supports the 'ok Google from any screen' option. I let my dad listen to how I could use the ok google command to change radio stations in the tunein radio app on my s7 edge without having to touch the screen or press any buttons.
That's an ideal way for my dad to use the tunein app, I have an old galaxy s2 which I flashed a lollipop custom rom onto the phone in the hope it would add the option to allow ok google from any screen but that options missing in the voice settings and instead only has the option to use it from within the google search app which is no good for him.
Would I be right in saying that any new ish phone that's running Android 5 or above would have the option to say ok google from any screen? Also the ability to enable ok Google voice control from the lock screen when using either a wired /Bluetooth headset would be even better for my dad to operate the phone, that function works on my s7 edge but doesn't work on my s2 with the custom lollipop rom even though the setting is enabled.

Many thanks for this reply, that voice access app sounds exactly like what my dad needs to use a phone, will download it via your link and see if it'll work on an old galaxy s2 using a custom lollipop rom.
