Hi! I just got my z4 tablet(SGP771), it's all good and fast, but because I'm still waiting on the root access, so should I update the the latest firmware or wait for the root method come out, root the device then update it?
P.S. is there a root method out for the z4 tablet LTE (SGP771)

So I just opened my Prime that I got from HHGregg and needed to root it. I need to have anyconnect working for my work VPN so root is absolutely necessary.
I have been looking through the development forum and the Q&A forums and cant find a place where simple instructions are available.
To make it short, if I want to root:
Is it better to root HC with Nacho and then manually update to ICS 4.0.3?
Or manually update to 4.0.3 then root with Sparky?
Anyone have instructions on how to manually update to ICS? I have found instructions which require me to download the ICS zip file, place it on the Prime internal memory and then have the prime check for an update...is this correct?
If I do this, will it find the file that I place there manually or will it automatically delete it and try to download and install the new 9.4.2.11 update which is not rootable?
Thanks for any help!
Root honeycomb then download ota root keeper from the market then just update to ics
sent from my Atrix via XDA premium
And update via ota. Manual way caused problems even with root keeper.
Dev section has great reasources
I think there is a video tut there have you read through the posts on rooting

updating to ICS on my rooted Sony Tablet S?[/QUOTE]
There is nno problem in updating ics on ur rootedd tablet but If you update your tablet to the officisl ics then there are chances tht you will lose your root
There is no way to root official ics
If you install custom pre rooted ics from condi aio tool then u have root for your tablet
Hope this clears your doubt

Hello everyone... I am here to ask for help from you guys.... I had my tablet stolen and now it back in my possession.... yay... well this thing is really out of date and I need to update because most of the apps are asking me and require update of software to work... it's been about a year.. I left off on 4.0.3 r5 root build5 #1 can some please redirect me or show where to start to get updated and still keep my root please and thanks
Apparently there is a root for r5a, but it really is not worth the trouble. Your better off staying on r5

Hello,
I've been using these forums for years to root all my devices so thanks to all for the hard work.
I just want to know how I can root my Xperia Tablet Z SGP321. It's currently on Lollipop 5.0.2 (10.6.a.0.454).
I've looked everywhere and I can't find anything to simply root it, all I can find is for previous firmware and for other models.
Can someone please send me a link? My bootloader is is currently locked but an unlock is allowed so I can do that if required (did it with my Z2 and my Z3 so I know how).
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you

Strange that you found nothing.
This firmware can be rooted with rootkitXperia | KingRoot or Vroot apps. I recommend the first one, as two other are chinese.

Thank you so much, I'll give this a go tomorrow.
I've never rooted a tablet before, only phones so I just wanted to make 100% sure about the build and stuff.
Just one more thing, the page says it's for 5.0, will it be ok on 5.0.2 or does the 0.2 not matter?
Edit: Ok, so I ran the rootkit and everything succeeded but now it still says there is no root access when I use Root Check and I can't run SuperSU as there is apparently no binary installed for it.
Any idea what the problem might be?
Edit 2: Ok nevermind, I finally managed to get it sorted. I followed the guide located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...ide-how-to-root-xperia-tablet-z-lp-5-t3253178 and all is well.
Thanks for the help
