I know Autostarts was one (I purchased it years ago) but since getting my Edge it hasn't worked (phone is rooted). Are there any apps out there similar? I want to disable some system apps that came pre-installed.
Options>applications>App manager>Running
it is built in and you can disable what ever you want if you are rooted and some without root.
Try Clean Master if you are rooted
On 5.1.1 autostarts can be managed, go to Settings > Battery > Battery power optimisations

I'm just curious: can built-in bloatware-esque apps be frozen, disabled, or uninstalled in Motorola's ICS build as they can on the VZW Galaxy Nexus? I'm talking about for normal users, without root.
Just wondering whether the immediate future of Motorola/VZW phones will be a bit bloat less bloated for normal (non-hacker) users.
Yes and no. The soak test is great but has a few very small bugs.
Yes you can disable almost any app installed. Its great...but of you go into manage apps/ all and try to manually disable it will not let you disable many. A workaround is to grab the app from the app drawer, drag to the top of the home screen to" app info" and it will let you disable as many as you want. I think o disabled 25 apps. The only problem is 3 apps reenable themselves after a reboot. Google+, play movies, and something else. Slight bug. Not major. I kept root and you can use titanium to really freeze if you want
You'll probably need root to fully rid you're self of the apps, they reside in /system/app in the root file system which auto installs at boot, where as downloaded apps and updates reside in /data/apps, you may be able to regain a small amount of space by un installing updates, and possibly keep them from loading in memory, but i doubt anything will last through a reboot

Is their way to kill the stupid Verizon bloatware off of the Rezound. I just got the new I.C.S. O.T.A.. Every time Itry to delete all of the stock apps Verizon puts on the phone it will only allow me to uninstall the updates. then a few hours later the phone updates them again.
How do i get rid of them??????
You can only disable them unless you are rooted. This will remove them from the app drawer, and at the bottom of the app list in settings. Out of sight, out of mind.
Root and delete the APK.
disable them suing settings -> application. and turn off option in play store to automatically update apps.

And also prevents them from running in the background and being used at all. It's just like freezing them with Titanium Backup; the .apk is there, but its as good as gone.
you can disable them by not updating the app and just diable it in the app management

If they are updated you have to uninstall the update first then disable them. The only Verizon bloatware app that I found can't be disabled this way is visual voice mail.

Root and run Neo's Simplistic Rom. Very stock feel without the extra crap.
Hi guys,
So i found the default OEM music app had done over 156k times since 1d 4h, absolutely insane, means only 1% deep sleep for my mobile. Now i cant seem to uninstall it or disable it...is there anyway to do that without rooting?
Thank you!
Hey.
Did you tries uninstall it by google play [if you get it from that..]?
Have you got notifications disabled or enabled in apps? (Some apps don't allow phone to get sleep mode by notifications and they are all time getting back on...)
Also if you get angry you can do that:
1. Get to the android/data
2. Delete com.(author).(application)
3. Reboot phone
But if you don't found it try look for that player folder in phone files and delete it.
No, if it is a system app chances are you can not uninstall, freeze or disable it without root
One of the many reasons to root an android....

Hi, Greenify keeps losing access to the accessibility service for some reason. It happens after a few minutes of using the phone, not even a reboot is required to get it unticked again. Then when I try to hibernate+lock screen again, it says that it requires the service for automation to work.
Phone: Huawei Mate 7
System: KitKat 4.4.4
Greenify: latest version
Root? No (Greenify set on non-root mode)
Accessibility activated for Greenify? Yes but keeps getting unticked all the time and asks me to enable automation again and again!
Greenify device administrator? Yes
Donation package? Yes.
Anyone?
Have you noticed any clue on when and what caused the stop of accessibility service?
If you device memory is running low, it may be killed by Android system for more memory for foreground app, especially when playing large game.

No it does it all the time, after a few minutes usually. If I lock the screen within a minute or two, it works fine, it later than that, the hibernation service is normally turned off already.
Other Info
Any other updates on this issue? I was running Greenify on my Galaxy S5 with no issues. I just changed over to an S6 Edge and now I'm getting the same problem with Greenify losing its Accessibility permissions. No rhyme or reason for when it happens. I'm not running any big applications or games. I have a few other apps that need Accessibility authorization and those never seem to lose their access like Greenify does.
Same Problem on my new Galaxy S6 edge. Any help to solve the problem would be greatly appreciated.
This can solved by removing Greenify from Protected Apps or in the case of non Huawei phones by disabling battery optimisation for greenify or the app in question.
On my phone gets it often after I kill the any application with /long press/back button. Rooted, CM13
this happen as well with OOS 3.2.1 on OnePlus 3
if you decide to clear recents and the memory as well, it will straight away losing the accesibility access..
Is there an established reason for this?! Reinstalling and add power-saving exception doesn't seem to being helpful.
Issue started after update to android 8. On previous versions never had a tiny problem.

Hi,
I recently bought a Motorola Moto X Pure Edition running Android 6.0. Everything was working fine until just a few hours ago when I needed to enable permissions for an app. It came up with the "screen overlay detected error." I looked this up online and tried the solutions (including ones found in XDA threads). I disabled drawing over other apps for all apps on the phone (including system apps), reset app preferences, and rebooted my phone, but nothing is working. I cannot change permissions for any app. Is there a way around this? Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to disable this "safety feature" permanently?
Thanks!
Kp
Also: My phone is rooted and has Xposed installed if that helps....
My Xposed mods include GravityBox, Deep Sleep Battery Saver, Greenify, and Boot Manager
