I was just wondering if we have anyone in this community is running Cloudy G3 (2.5) on the LS990. I've tried it and I've completely fallen in love with the rom. The only reason why I'm not running it at the minute is because it has data issues.
Data itself is definitely working (both LTE/3G) but it's just the mobile connection icon doesn't show up on the status bar but shows up in settings (network settings)
Also, mobile data (in settings) is always preset to WCDMA, whatever that is. Everytime I change it to LTE/3G it works and then force closes. The only way I've been able to get data working is by pressing the auto button in the notification bar buttons (with wifi/gps/etc.).
I don't know why but mobile data (in settings) is always preset to WCDMA, whatever that is. Everytime I change it to LTE/3G it works and then force closes. The only way I've been able to get data working is by pressing the auto button in the notification bar buttons (with wifi/gps/etc.).
Share your experiences if you've tried it.
I know Cloudy G3 is not fully supported on CDMA devices (sprint/verizon) so issues are to be expected (just don't say anything if you have nothing to contribute). Thank's in advanced.

I am using Cloudy 2.5. It's running super smooth. I am also using GSM outside the US and all is fantastic.
Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
I'm using it now all you have to do are some build prop edits, change global to SPR & target carrier to SPR I also changed the CDMA home operator from 310000 to 310120. That was all I did everything works fine, oh don't forget to change your network settings from global to LTE/CDMA after you've made the edits everything should work and show the indicator then hope that helps!
For the icons, just use G3 TweakBox....

Yeah, but it is ment for the other varients and has been ported over to all of the G3's.
I was running it but I couldn't get Bluetooth to work. Also in all it was a great ROM. I may go back if I can find a fix. Is there a way to update profile/PRL? I couldn't get any of the dialer codes to work.

You're good as long as it's on LTE/CDMA and you see sprint. 1619415 has mentioned that it's just cosmetic nothing to worry about.

Probably out of habit lol to get data connection on some of the aosp builds you had to change it to 310120 was just a suggestion. The phone fc is it starting a new process like its wiping cache, that's how it was explained to me on another rom.

What i also did...but not too sure if it helped at all, but i made a copy of sprint activation folder, sprint data optimizer, sprint installer folder, chameleon provider. And put those in priv-app folder. Now i have sprint data optimizer installed on on the rom but i think i also might need connections optimizer. Not sure....btw sprint self activation doesnt work. Im using lion rom btw which is very similar to cloudyrom g3 except has a few more tweaks in it.

So I have used it and it is a really nice ROM minus some very minor issues here and there.
Here are some tips for those of you using it:
Either change your build.prop in the zip before flashing to these values below or do it after flashing the ROM.
ro.build.target_country: Set to "us"
ro.build.target_operator: Set to "spr"
ro.carrier: Set to "spr"
ro.product.locale.region: Set to "us"
ro.product.name: Set to "g3_spr_us"
This should fix your Mobile Data issues/Roaming problem/Settings F/C going into Mobile Networks.
A few other things I have noticed for those curious or interested:
Voicemail does not work natively. You will have to dial your own # to call into your Voicemail as holding 1 will not work. (probably a tweak for this too but haven't looked)
Data icons can be kinda funky at times (as in LTE disappears/GSM shows up instead of 3G...etc.) This can be fixed with G3 Tweaksbox and set the icons back to Sprint - good to go.
I have not tested 2.5 with those build.prop tweaks but I did get an com.android.phone crash AFTER ending phone calls. It picks back up immediately after but if this bothers you, you might think twice.
NFC IS DISABLED/BROKEN in Cloudy for Sprint, if this is a big deal do not flash this.
Hope this helps others out.

Not sure on that. I've heard mixed on the Cloudy forums about them being case sensitive. Either way I had the same experience though some have said lower case stopped the com.android.phone crash after calls.

You could use g3twb and change the signal icon set. Yeah sprint activation is not going to work simply because the rom itself is based on international firmware. I never really saw a use for those apps though didn't much of a difference in my connection. In my area of San Diego my data isn't all that great I'd be lucky to get 3 bars on lte, maybe for you it's different so they may help and work properly.:good:

Flashed! This time, all APNs are there!
Problem 1: I'm constantly stuck on 3G, not sure why. Never get H or H+.
Problem 2: Default launcher screen is the first page. No biggie, more of a "feature."
I think that's it! I'll go mod the frameworks now, I think
EDIT: Got about 0.8 seconds of H+ and it jumped back to 3G. Can't get proper data. Sad.
Voice calls volume are pretty loud here!!! which is cool to me. considerably louder then all other ROMs out there. Did u use any different codecs?
Edit: Whatever you did to the audio works perfect here.

Any way to fix that behavior? I'd prefer to stay on 4G, it isn't worse than 3G on your battery logically.
Either way I shall test your theory throughout the day, I'll keep it and test it.

Actually it is.
http://www.research.att.com/article...1_03/201102_Energy_efficient?fbid=k8DF0O-g72R
I'm 90% certain that on phones which do correctly report their current mode, 3G is idle mode while FACH and DCH modes are reported as H. A phone never "idles" in HSPA modes. In fact I'm not sure if FACH mode is ever HSDPA. (Edit: FACH and DCH modes could be remaining as vanilla UMTS, however HSPA is not possible in Idle mode.)
AT&T's stock ROMs hide this in the framework and report everything as H+, even if when you dig deeper into the system you see that the RIL is reporting state/mode changes.

That's actually an amazing article, thanks!
It seems so, like UMTS is idle, HSPA is low power, and HSPA+ is high power. My phone stays on UMTS most of the time, and HSPA some of the time. Anyway, when I use the phone, it ramps up to HSPA+ so it's all good! Good performing ROM!
I do seem to have more lag than stock unrooted ROM though. Even with no apps installed, it lags slightly. Only occasionally. It's mostly smooth.
I've been testing it out. So far, it's good. The speed is a little low but obviously that will be fixed. I've taken the liberty of changing the over-scroll animation color back to orange, because the blue looks really gross to me. I threw in CRT screen-off animations too. Just replace your framework-res.apk with it.
I haven't found any major problems yet, and honestly it's pretty stable. No crashes, fast boot-ups, etc.
Good work designgears!

Mine refreshing my memory to where the XML for the CRT off animation is located? I know approximately where it is.
Also any clue how to disable glow altogether and put back the bounce? I like the bounce.
I'm not asking for any modding effort, just a quick explanation I wanna try it myself on my new setup.

the crt animation if i remember correctly is in the decompiled framework-res.apk in values/bools.xml youll know the line when ya see it im sure. and you should be able to get the bounce back if you replace the framework.jar with one you know that has the bounce

After you decompile the framework-res.apk, the file is located in /res/values/bools.xml. The specific line of code is
Code:
<bool name="config_animateScreenLights">true</bool>
and you just want to change it to false to enable CRT off, true to disable it.
As far as re-adding the bounce in, I have no idea. On KH7 for our phones, it was easy to add using the source code ported from the Nexus S, but Samsung cooked them in 2.3.5. The best you could do is replace the overscroll pngs in framework-res.apk with empty pngs, but you still wouldn't get the bounce back.

I really wouldn't do that. What I would do is check if someone modded the framework.jar from KI3 for you over at the GSII themes/apps section. It's sort of dangerous to be using framework files from a different ROM. At the very least, have a backup.

Set to 30 seconds, but it does not turn off only when charging.
Pretty sure something went wrong either through flashing the firmware/kernel :/
Had the same problem. Solved it by downloading "extended controls" and there is an option that keeps the screen on while charging...switch this off. Something must have triggered it but there is no option in the standard Galaxy menu to switch it off.

The stock ICS at least has an option to keep the screen on during charging (Settings -> Developer options), maybe this option somehow got turned on? Samsung has, for some reason, decided to hide this option from the stock ROM, though, but maybe some apps (such as Extended Controls) still can enable it?

Correction: you have to add it as a toggle in the widget. Once the widget has been added to your homescreen, you can toggle it off.

Had the same problem. Solved it by downloading "extended controls" and there is an option that keeps the screen on while charging...switch this off. Something must have triggered it but there is no option in the standard Galaxy menu to switch it off.

Hey dude, thanks for this, I have referenced it in a post where I asked the same question. I hope people give you some thanks for this. I had already extended controls installed but never thought to use that toggle. Did you have the program installed before it happened, maybe there is something to do with the S3 and this tool that triggers it?

The screen on triggered when I tried to use a non original HDMI cable from Ebay.
screen stays on all the time
apologies in advance for being new and potentially asking something stupid! I have a similar problem, however my screen is staying on all the time - when not charging.
I have set screen timeout to 30 seconds and tested with the smart stay setting both on and off. I am running the stock 4.04 ICS rom:
Baseband version - I9300BULG2
restarting the phone doesnt appear to help (it did once, but after a while it was back to staying awake.). Currently the smart stay option is on, but I noticed that the little eye icon that normally pops up to check if you are looking at phone never appears, so I am assuming the phone "thinks" its being actively used.
In an attempt to try to fix problem, I removed all widgets from the home screens but that does not appear to have helped. Wondered if anyone else had this problem?

Dude, i believe there is a setting that you can find in extended controls, irs called "Screen Always on" install extended controls from play store and create a widget to disable this and you should be sorted.

I am new here, and currently having the same problem most others are -- the screen lighting up like a Citi Field night game once fully charged.
I just bought Extended Controls. I see a widget with a brightness button, I selected it, but have no idea how to program it so that my phone doesn't light up in the middle of the night once charging is complete.
Can some kindly provide some instructions on how to program the widget?
Thanks

Dude, read this thread, the answer is there. Basicly, add a toggle called "stay awake" and you should notice that its got a green line under it. Press the toggle to turn it off and your good to go.

thanks for your help. I installed the widget and the "Screen Always On" wasnt enabled... however I have since found the problem. I noticed the phone was getting pretty hot when apparently idle, so figured something was constantly running even though it didnt seem to be, The culprit was a samsung app which I installed, tested (thought was a bit pointless), then forgot about. It was called "Drivelink" anddownloaded from samsung app store. I wont make that mistake again!
thanks for your help though... That app looks pretty useful so happy to have been pointed in it's direction!

Pro Tips
Fix Bluetooth Range
Disable Wifi! This is a known HTC bug, and this is the current workaround.
How to enable "Press and hold back for menu"
Open settings > Display, gestures & buttons > Back button
How to enable Fast Charge (off by default)
Turn on:
echo 1 > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/force_fast_charge
Turn off:
echo 0 > /sys/kernel/fast_charge/force_fast_charge
How to fix data throttling (not related to rom)
1-Make a backup of your current build in cwm
2-Open root explorer and change r/o to r/w
3-Navigate to Data/System
4-Inside Data/System you will find a folder labeled Throttle
5-Long press Throttle folder and select permessions
6-Change permissions to Owner: read and execute only, everything els should be unchecked, when finished press ok and go back
7-Open Throttle folder and there should be two items in it if your on stock and three if your on Shevron Rom
8-Make copies of all items in throttle folder wether it be two or three and save them on your pc or a new folder on your sd..That way if something were to go wrong youd have your backup and copies of the files
9-Once you have made copies of the throttle folders contents delete them (wether it be two or three) from throttle folder
10-Back out of Data/System and change r/w back to r/o, exit root explorer and reboot

Good morning
Great to see more ROM options coming to the AT&T One.
I have been following the CleanRom development and have a couple of suggestions for Cognition that scott had worked on.
Adding the long press back button for menu is a must have
The tether hack is a must (media Link HD won't work without it)
The Percent Battery Mod is very handy
The Ad Blocking HOST file is another must have
An advanced Power Menu is nice but not a problem if its not in their.
I would like to to see the tbalden sweep to wake and logo menu button built in @ some point
Looking forward to your progress with this project, and thanks for offering it here.

my thoughts after 2 hours of use
Overall it's pretty smooth but it did seem like the screen is a little less sensitive in some apps ( Amazon - Google music - Play store )
9 apps out of date on first play store run ...including play store it's self
Sign up for dropbox on install only nets you a 2 gb account not 25 like the international version
No file manager installed
the home and back buttons seem less sensitive than normal/stock AT&T
Car Icon in app tray - Good, it's not in the AT&T rom's
Hotspot works
LTE Works but the 4G icons are missing
Bluetooth works ... used two different devices no problem
GPS / Maps work fine.
I'll continue testing and keep you posted

I loved that phone man, it was freaking indestructible, me and my room mate would toss our around the house with no worries. And since it was competing against the iPhone 4 for some of its life that was a great feature to win people over.
Also the battery clasp on the back was the most satisfying of any phone I've ever used.
But when it comes to performance I do love my new One!

I didn't do app update yet because I may be ripping out anything available on the market, probably add some options in aroma for them.
I'll look into the dropbox thing, but I am pretty sure that is due to build.prop stuff
filemanagers galore on the market, again, probably something I will add to aroma
sensitivity should be up a bit in the next build, let know
the 4G/4G LTE icons are an AT&T thing, I prefer the ones in there now, much cleaner, again, maybe an aroma option later

Same Here Glad I have the same phone as designgears
I have change my mind on logo2menu, I thought the htc logo was the button, but its a small space above it on the screen.
The reason I like a file manager pre installed is I keep a set of apps on the phone/sd and no way to install them without adding a google account and downloading one. Updating the stock apps is no big deal just kind of a courtesy I suppose. The 3 dot menu takes screen space is why i prefer the long press back.
+1 on the 4G/4G LTE icons are an AT&T thing, I prefer the ones in there now, much cleaner. Agree was just making the observation.
The screen and button sensitivity is high on my wish list. Seems I'm hitting the home and back buttons 3 and 4 times before they respond, never had that on the AT&T Roms.
Took some photos the camera seems normal ...not sure what the fix for it was suppose to do.
Play Music forced closed on the first start but worked fine after that.
4G LTE Speeds seem the same as they were on CleanRom/Stock
Wifi may actually be a little faster now.
It took several hours for the lock screen clock to show my actual city name and not just "My Location"
Couple of benchmarks the Stock One is the higher of the 2
LOL benchmarks

HOW TO ADD IPv6 TO CM/GPE ROMS

1. Settings>>Access Point Names/Add New APN (Aplogies, not on CM or GPE any longer and I no longer remember the path)
2. Add the following settings.
* Asterisks in the settings are there by default and may/may not be significant.
**CM based ROMs may include these settings already but the IPv6 option will not be selected by default so make sure to enable it for best T-mobile perforance.
T-Mobile HTC One devices usually have the best settings selected by default, however if you feel that your wireless settings are insufficient try this!
HOW TO ADD IPv6 TO SENSE
1. Settings/Mobile Data/Access Point Names/ "3dot Menu"/ New APN
2. Change settings to match these for IPv6
Unlike CM based ROMs there is no option to specify either IPv4 or IPv6 without editing the "build.prop".
3. Edit "build.prop"
[credit goes here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2115789)]
Via Root Explorer
1, Open "Root Explorer" and mount R/W.
2, Go to "system" and you will find there is a file name "build.prop".
3, Right click (By holding at the file) and there is menu pop out.
4, Scroll down and select edit in Text Editor.
As you can see there is no "ro.telephony.ipv6_capability= 1" only "ro.telephony.default_network=9". So go ahead and type " ro.telephony.ipv6_capability= 1 " on another line(I put it below "ro.telephony.default_network=9"); save and reboot.
4. After the boot, make your way into the APN settings again and you should see two new input fields: "APN protocol" and "APN roaming protocol"
Make the following changes: "APN Protocol" to "IPv6" and leave "APN Roaming Protocol" at "IPv4"
@OP,
Are these settings only applicable to CM ROMs? Have they been tested on Stock ROMs?

Are you sure? I find it hard to believe that ROM's like Android RevolutionHD and ViperOne don't support custom APN's. I know IPv6 may not be available to all carriers but for t-mobile at least these setting should be accurate. But perhaps you know something I dont?
Eventually I will switch back to Sense and give it a go, but if anyone else is facing problems applying these settings outside of CM perhaps you can chime in...

That makes more sense, however a bit disappointing as well.
I'm on a sense rom and I'm sure the option was available. I had to disable ipv6 to keep Skype connected. Then I dirty flashed a new Rom and I have edited the xml file that the apn info is in So it is possible. Once t-mo releases the official 4.3 I'll try and figure out how to add the option if it's not there by default.

Right, there are always some kind of work around, but realistically that is not an option for most users on a Sense based ROM, especially stock users who are not rooted.

If you have an HTC One GPE then you can modify the APN's live with iPv6 settings not rooted. I was referring to the stock sense HTC Sense Roms or other Sense Roms. Most users are not going to modify their xml file just to get iPv6.

Well on stock (un-rooted) ROMs you can add a new APN, just go to Settings - Mobile data - Access point names click on the 3 dots on the top right and you can add a New APN.
Now I haven't tried this configuration, maybe later I will check it out and see the results.

So in tmous' 4.3 Rom, in the apn.xml, all it says for protocol is 'IP' and in a downloaded cyanogen Rom the same file was almost totally empty but I didn't install it and run it so I don't know if that is created in use. But android 4.4 apparently handles it totally differently anyway and I believe the dev version will be released shortly so I'm sure there will be many more, who know far more about this than I do, tearing into it.

Will this mod interfere with hotspot/DL booster?!

It shouldn't, no files overlap in mod yet. If it works, profit and I'll release stable. If not, I'll work.
Tried but constant fc wiped cache dalvic reboot etc but still just fc
So exactly how do u enable this? Is there an on off toggle?

Use quick tile mod I posted in general. To activate, use sqlite editor. Go to setting storage -> settings.db -> search "vo" in global/system (whichever). One of those should pop up vowifi or something. Set it to 1 I believe and should walk through activation process when click again. If not, I'll keep up files in next beta
OP Updated, try beta 1.1

Went to settings.db then system and searched "vo" and vowifi or anything like that did not pop up. Flashed the mod but have no way of testing it! :/
Also I have the WifiCalling quicksetting toggle but it takes me to DL Booster lol...

I need all the sprint APKs if you happen to have them. Bc when I dial *2 to go the sprint service thing in the phone it doesn't work... Neither does hands free activation... It just gets stuck there..
Edit: it's called "Sprint zone"
Edit 2: Actually I don't think that matters lol... You should ask slesh bc apparently in his new ROM he has it working! Maybe just ask him for a flashable?!

Let me know man
WiFi calling closes and will not turn on
So I tried this out using v1.1 and made the change in sqlite. When I first boot my phone I get two FC's from WiFi Calling and when I open WiFi calling and try to turn it on it just sits there and never turns on.
One other thing I just noticed is that when I go back into sqlite and look at the value of com.oem.smartwifisupport.vowifi_pref_state it has a value of 0 even though I changed it to 1. Every time I reboot and check the value it is set to 0.
If you happen to know how I can get the value to stick please let me know. That may be why this isn't working for me.

Me and splesh were working on this long before. I knew of it working in mystery rom before I even released this. This is working for temp fixes for AND2 ROM, stock (for now) and future possible fixes if needed.
I'll poke my head in here soon to help if I can. I can write a script that will force the entry in the SQL database as well if that will help.
If you get stuck somewhere or need help with something, let me know.
Cheers - TD

Does the download booster need to be installed from the other thread before this one?
