Hello, I was having my Mobile phone in my pocket (SK17i). I took it out and suddenly it touch screen stopped working.
I was having MIUI 3 on my mobile with Extended Xperia Kernel.
I just want to know, what has occured, I mean if it is Software problem, or a hardware problem as there is no damage to mobile screen, not a scratch. The touch button, i.e. back button and menu button work properly, just the touchscreen is not responding.
I have tried to change the ROM to original one. Changed the Kernel too. Still no response.
Kindly help me. Please
Sorry mate, but all indicates hardware malfunction.
I got a similar problem with a different phone wen it spilled some cafe on it (very little).
I opened, cleaned and everything worked except touchscreen.
Could it be some humidity on the phone?
(hope you didn't pissed your pants )
Anyway, for this phone you can order a new LCD + Touch from the ebay and assemble yourself with a tutorial on FixIt (google it).
If it still has warranty just send it back
Hi there,
So recently I sold my SGS2 to my brother (in complete working order, I had been using it up until I gave it to him) when I got my n5. He seems to have been getting along fine with it for the last couple of weeks.
He came home today and showed me that the touchscreen is unresponsive (initially tried a battery pull) but no such luck. The other buttons work, and everything appears to be progressing normally with the boot (I can see the wifi connect, he has mobile signal etc.). After about 5 seconds of not interacting with the phone, it dims very slightly and the backlight starts flickering very quickly, but stops instantly if I tap it (although I still can't interact with the device in any other way through the touchscreen), please note this also happens in recovery (so I'm guessing it's hardware).
I've tried doing a factory and cache wipe in recovery but it hasn't helped (I didn't expect it to).
He claims not to have dropped it or got it wet and everything on it is stock (always has been).
Does anyone recognise this issue, or know what it might be/ how hard it would be to fix?
I only sold it to him for £50 as he is family, but I could do without having to give him his money back...
Thanks for any help,
Dan
Difficult to say from this side, if you have the chance to try to check if the connections between the motherboard and the screen are not loose nor unplugged, and do a factory reset, even though I assume it's the hardware here.
If (as I think) a factory reset doesn't solve the problem, I would go for a screen replacement, better if you can try one before buying. If it's not the screen, then go for a mobo replacement. Hope I helped

I'm just uploading a quick video to clarify what is happening. I'll crack it open later a have a look at the connector to see if thats the issue. Do you happen to know if the digitizer and LCD are separate components in the s2?

I've replaced some, they are glued together, and not separable by the user without the right tools (and those are VERY expensive and need training).

I was afraid that would be the case
EDIT: FIXED! maybe he did drop it and dislodged the connector?

Hi boys,
yeasterday I changed digitizer on my Xperia PRO mk16i, which was broken, but still fully functional.
Now I have problem with this new - in the middle of LCD it´s don´t read my touchs. In the top and bottom of LCD is situation better - it is almost functional.
I found some recalibration functions, but it´s no possible via standard phone menu. So I tested change firmware with Flash tool. I tested A 2.3.4 and 4.0, but everything is bad - I cannot found any calibration function. (When I bought my phone, first thing which I must do was calibration).
Please, can you help me? What I must need for run calibration process?
Many thanks,
Petr
Wow, I've never heard about touch calibration on capacitive devices. I'm pretty sure your new digitizer is defective. Happens to the best of us hehe.
I have similar problem with this guy. Middle of the screen doesn't read my touch, I'm using mini pro. My case I hold my phone with wet hands, then the day after, it happens. Flashed to stock didn't help. It seems your digitizer is defective as said. Take the phone to where you changed the digitizer and ask for warranty.

Hi guys!
I bought my Xperia Z2 8 days ago, and I have touch screen issue, as said in this topic:

When I'm typing it doesn't react for my taps, when I scroll down webpages it thinks I'm zooming it. When I turn off screen and turn it again- problem disappears, to be back in a few minutes. Anyone else has the same problem? Is hardware or software faulty? I think I have to give it back for warranty, but I'd like to avoid it... Of course I've reseted it (hard reset) a few times, even installed new software with "Update Service"- nothing helps.

How to test this?

You would see this- when you type something fast, phone is too slow for you- it doesn't recognize taps, touch screen blocks, etc. Sometimes top notification panel goes to half of the screen and stays in one place.

Ensure glove touch is disabled.
Even I am having this issue... Seems like Glove mode automatically turns on by itself even though it has been disabled.
So far no solution.
Yea it's like the keyboard swipes it self. Same for the screen. Even factory reset, but it happens again once in awhile.
Hello everyone. I bought via ebay display for Sony Xperia z2 but when I connected it turned out to not work properly. He started his own to run applications, as well as to work on it with 30 fingers. I guess that's called Ghost effect. What can be the problem? In short operating normally, and then go crazy.
I'm not completely reassembled the phone after changing the display because waiting waterproof tape for display.
. Does it have something to do with my problem?

I took it in to Sony and they repaired it for me. They told me that there was water underneath so they replaced the damaged parts for me. But the ghost touch issues still happens once in a while...
