Since its out. better share your battery life and performance on this thread..
make sure you include what rom, kernel or any tweak is inside of your 2..
and as always.. help and answer questions related to it...

With full hd screen battery will probably be way better than opo. Lets hope that even with qhd battery will be great also.

Kind of disappointing numbers from MKBHD, who's reporting less battery life than the 1+1, along with slow charging. His unit will be a month out of date by the time the 1+2 actually starts shipping, so there's hope (not sure how realistic) that further polishing of OxygenOS will improve the autonomy.

It's not USB-C Type 3.1. The connector is USB-C, but still using USB 2.0 tech. It just like Nokia tablet, it does not give you faster transfer speed like USB 3.0. Same as Apple's lightning connector ... old USB 2.0 tech lol

Opt has much worse battery life
Src: https://youtu.be/91av8wCH7CI

I guess that battery life is a bit worst because of OxygenOS.
I just test OxygenOS yesterday and the biggest issue I have had with it is the full package of Google crap pre-installed in this ROM.
I always install "pico" or "mini" package of GAPPS, so I setup my newly install ROM in like 5 mins.
I spent about 20-30mins on the OxygenOS and during that time GAPPS was still installing itself! Just horrible
So, I´m pretty sure that the most of the battery drain is due to full GAPPS package
I have 3 day battery life on my O+O if I do just Viber during a day - Temasek ROM + TK pico GAPPS
My guess is O+T will have at least same battery life once there will be different ROM with "smaller" GAPPS :good:

Apparently advantages of USB Type C port will be unleashed with Android M, Search Google for "Android M to support USB Type-C for faster charging" Fast charging for USB type C will be available in Android M. Does this mean we will need to upgrade the cable the O+2 ships with I don't know, but things might get better with Android M.

Using another battery

Hi guys:
Is it possible to use a battery from another phone? Because sometimes chinese mobiles can be compatible with Nokia's batteries and for a little amount of money, we can get some cooler Nokia's ones.
I'm getting a ZTE Blade this week, so I will tell you my impressions ASAP.
Regards.
I wouldn't recommend using any other battery than the official one provided. You're asking for trouble otherwise.
Why not? If it has the same voltage and fits perfect, there isnt any reason for using this battery. There are other manufacturers of mobile phone batteries that make compatible batteries, so It wouldnt have any problem.
Anyone tried it? I will make a study of MP batteries and then I will tell you if I found something interesting.
Regards
why would you do that when a new oem battery is so affordable?

More capacity power than the stock one. Finally, I have bought an emergency charger for 10 euros, that have 1900 mah and its affordable for my Samsung Wave and this phone.
Hope that it will solve all battery problems.

Interested aswell in the review, was considering carrying a spare battery but this looks handier.
I considered using another battery too, but this option has multilple advantages:
1) It has 1900 mhAmp, so it lefts 500 mAmphs free to make another charge.
2) I'm using two smartphones, so I can charge both ones.
3) I don't need another charger or charging it in the phone and removing it. I just charge the emergency charger and I can use the phone again.
BTW, my ZTE Blade seems to be the AMOLED version, with low battery consumption. I'm using stock GB firmware, and after a day using 2G network, WiFi, playing Angry Birds for 30 minutes, using Whatsapp and a few phone calls, I have 30% left. SO I'm quite impressed with battery life, hope it will be as good as my Samsung Wave (I use it around 2-3 days with no problems)
I will make a full review when I will receive the charger.
Regards.
I bought the 2800mAh version of that charger, and man does it work great.
I suppose it's the only must have accessory I can think of to a smartphone.
1500mAh Battery for ZTE San Francisco Blade on ebay i dont have enough posts to paste the link.
not sure if its any good, has anyone tried it?
of course u can

Too many missing features for the OnePlus 2.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the OP2 is missing the following..
- QHD display
- NFC
- USB 3.1 support
- Rapid Charge
- Wireless Charging
- SD Slot
- Removable Battery
- CyanogenMod
- FM radio?
Personally having a hard time understanding the hype here. And it'll cost $425 with tax for decent size storage and 4GB of RAM.
nfc is the deal breaker for me but i'll still get it, just to mess around w/it

I'm still excited for this phone and as for your missing features, here are my views
- QHD display - Thankfully it doesn't have. QHD is a battery drainer and seriously who watch a QHD movie on a smartphone. On day to day use no one notice a difference.
- NFC - yes its lacking. but i have hardly ever used NFC before. and google wallet is still limited to US (even there it's underdeveloped)
- USB 3.1 support - yup its lacking
- Rapid Charge - honestly gonna miss this feature.
- Wireless Charging - nah usb c makes up for it (kind of)
- SD Slot - 64gb will be enough for me so no complains
- Removable Battery - 1080p display, 3300mah battery should be enough to get me through day. for emergencies I have 10000mah power bank
- CyanogenMod - I'm a iPhone guy as of now, planning to move to android. so never used Cyanogen Mod. But I have read that Oxygen OS is close to stock android. so it's a good thing (I guess)
- FM radio? - having this would have it awesome but even without radio 64gb is more then enough for good media library.
Just hoping to get an invite now to enjoy android device
NFC is a deal breaker for me. In Denmark they have already rolled out mobile payment to a lot of stores and it's not slowing down. I'm really surprised that they left it out. How much can it really cost?
Although it is missing a lot of features, but I still want to buy.

If you think about those features... Would you really miss them? And weigh them in with the number of improvements...

Biggest thing for me is the rapid charging. No nfc that's ok
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rapid charging is important. After seeing what my friends note 4 can do I really like it.
not worried about nfc only used it for sending pics anyway.
QHD, SD Slot and Removable battery (and even the Wireless charging) are not "missing", it is you who expected them and they are not there.
Also it was old news that CyanogenOS will not be on the OP2, but still hopes for CM 12.1 +

exactly, I mean really that stuff is not a big deal what people make it to be. NFC really just slide your card or use paypal, use Bluetooth to send your pics. Quick charging might get put in a kernel. As for the type c they really should've went all the way with that. For what we get for 389 I am very happy
Cyanogen shouldn't be on your "missing" list.
just wondering why nobody is talking about the real bummer, even here on XDA?
here it comes:
search for custom roms for dual sim devices, no matter whether google search or xda search, result close to zero.
honestly speaking that's a no go for me, never ever shall i trade in my perfectly tuned phone and user experience for a naked OS with almost none of the features i want and partly "NEED"
i started a discussion on the topic here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/discussion-custom-roms-dual-sim-devices-t3168136

Yeah, apparently the necessary hardware is missing as in there is no power controller that could handle any sort of fast charging in the device
I wonder how fast it will achieve full charge, with such a big battery... I love my OPO as the charging is really great especially sometimes when I can juice up for 30 mins only. But I've read somewhere that OPO doesn't have quick charge too?

I consider the lack of Waterproof ability to be the most significant missing feature about the OP2.

Has that been confirmed? This wouldn't be the first device to support QC2.0 without any mention from the company, presumably because they're not including a charging brick that supports it.

Whats your rom build number?
Did you updated to latest 7.2.3 or use 1 a(Samsung) battery charger instead of official battery charger..it won't get heat up
check in the battery stats if an app is misbehaving and draining the battery
So I also personally experienced it.It's because of the official xioami battery charger..Preferably use a adapter with 1.0A output(use Samsung travel adapter)

This charger is very good.If the problem persist go to service center, because it could be something broken on the motherboard

using 1a charger how much time u charge it,6hrs ? it supports 5v,2a means Qc 1.0. but has hardware to charge at Qc 2.0, may be to avoid complaints like this they cut it Qc 1.0 at kernel level, and for heating clear the cache, background apps and update to which ever is latest, your phone problem is bcz of cache build up after several updates.
FOR heating see this http://en.miui.com/thread-264888-1-1.html

I always clear cache using security app. I havent unlocked my phone. Can 3G be a problem? Because i use 3G always.!!
Phone is heating up even with my nexus 5 charger(1.2A, 5V).
I had the same problem before. I disabled auto sync function and the issues of heating/battery life have been solved. The inconvenience is I have to sync accounts/emails manually.
You can try this if you don't mind the inconvenience.

How many of us use Oneplus 2 as the primary device?

It's already been more than 2 years since, OP2 was launched. I was curious how many of us still use this actively. This might also be helpful for developers who are currently developing for this device.

I had my device over a year and still going strong. I recently noticed that my device takes very long to charge. Dunno if it's the cable or battery. However there are alot of developers for this device and I hope it stays the same as the device gets older. I'm going to stay with this device until some hardware fails then look to upgrade to the op5 or later when that time comes

Got the device since February 2016. No protectors, no cases, custom ROMs from day one. Has some scratches on the sides, but is perfect anyway. Still getting decent battery life, the camera is really nice, loudspeaker is incredible, everything is fast and reliable. Currently on Unofficial RR 5.8.5. Oreo is coming at some point, probably at least as stable as nougat. I am actively looking for a new phone, but absolutely nothing that comes out newer seems to be worth it. It's perfect for me. Also, thank you to the devs that don't give up on the device development.

I use it always since 2 years... And I don't found any device to replace it ....
I'm use it with a custom ROM since the beginning with lineage os and now is it on AoespExtended ROM.. It is drop many time, I have change the screen one time and since 4 month the home button doesn't work... But it work fine... Perhaps the oneplus 5t will be the next.......

I'm using this since February 2017 and so far it's so good
Compared to my previous Xperia Z3, camera is better, battery backup is as good as Z3, overall speed is almost the same (some frame drops seen in games but i think it's OOS fault), software in some aspects has weakness but strengths at some others, loud speaker isn't comparable since Z3 was stereo, telephony is the same, Development is much better
I wish it had support for microSD card
Anyway it's quite good and i won't leave it until hardware problems appear and maybe my next phone will be OP3T
Using it since October 2015, though this happened yesterday PIC
I've been using mine for about a year. I'm looking for a new phone, but not in a hurry. Been on rooted Oxygen the whole time.
I'm using it as my primary device from last 1 year
still rocking my OP2 from release, even dropped it in water once still working for now, and one of the best custom rom communitys !

With stock OP2 charger or any 2.4 AMP charger and a good high quality cable you should get 1800 mA on Ampere app. Not 1000.

It's like you've got no idea what you're talking about.
You're talking about the app Ampere, which measures your current in milli Ampere and you're talking about milli Volts.
The app won't give you the best readings, mine was shifting between 1500mA and 1700mA and sometimes it would drop to 400mA. Best is to use an usb voltage/ampere meter.

It's an easy way to make sure your charger and cable are not completely stuffed. If your getting over 1000ma then things are working well enough at the end of the day.

Oneplus 2 is my daily driver since August 2015
I'm using OP2 from august 2015, i bought this mobile wen it launched in india. I was the frst user who bought this mobile in my native, i'm very happy for that. :good:
I loved the mobile till date
Using Last 2 year.... Great OP2
I have had my OP2 as my primary device for a week now. Before that I tried several custom ROMs and used OP2 with Desolation ROM for about two months as a secondary device. I had Sony Xperia Z5 Compact as my "phone" and OP2 as my "camera". But now I feel I can trust OP2 enough to carry only one device with me.
I am curious. I'm looking to replace the phone my son is using (ZTE ZMax Pro from MetroPCS). I replaced the screen a couple of months ago cause it was cracked and now his phone dies any where from 40 to 60 percent battery left. I think I might have damaged the battery prying it out to get to the screen. Anyway, would the OP2 be a decent phone for him? He's only 13. The ZTE is a 6" screen, so that'll be a step down for him, but the fingerprint sensor would be on par. I've gotten my wife a OP3T, and really like it (and she loves it). The price on Swappa seems about right for the OP2 (less than $200, with the only one available right now at $165). I want to get him a phone that'll last him at least a year, if not more. Development still seems pretty good.
