So I'm having some real issues with this phone.
I originally broke the screen and changed the glass myself. It works fine, except when I receive a phone call. I looked around, and it seems that it's an issue with the proximity sensor. I tried to calibrate it following several directions, but I can't because it's upgraded to the latest firmware.
I would downgrade, but I read that:
Warning:
Never flash a Sony FTF file to your GPe, it will hard brick it
So I can't flash a lower Sony FTF to do the Proximity sensor calibration as far as I know.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i'm the third no solution?
And the same problem with my Mega 6.3 after flashing CM11 4.4.2 rom by silesh.nair. Somebody knows what's wrong with our phones???
No one helps I've installed program that shows proximity sensor values and it's look like sensor in my mega doesn't works correctly. It's recognizing "near" all the time and don't response for any actions. Maybe sensor is broken. I've tried to change sensor values, but it doesn't help anyway. I have probably lost warranty after flashing CM11 and really don't know what to do now
Sorry for my poor english...

Flash a custom ROM/Kernel and see if the sensors are fixed. If they aren't then it might be a bug or hardware failure

i9100 proximity sensor doesn't work
Hi to all!
I have the issue with proximity sensor and didn't manage to find a solution in other similar threads!
The matter is that it is always stay as Released.
In the same time in test screen (*#0*#) there are changing reading for PROXIMITY parameter from 2 up to 240 with no ADC parameter at all. Please look for screenshots. PROXIMITY parameter changes its value when I move my finger in front of the sensor, but as I can understand Android doesn't recognize it because of ADC absence.
Moreover I tried to change proximity sensor for working one (from another phone), but it shows the same as mine (with no ADC readings).
After all I think it is software problem, but I don't know how to solve it. I flashed different firmwares (now it is XWMSE NeatROM v.6.4), but nothing helped.
Please assist! Thanks!
Hello all,
I am having an issue with the GPS module on my HTC One M8 AT&T converted to GPE running 5.0.1 lollipop.
Build Number is: LRX22C.H5
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-g62772b0
[email protected] #1
Tue Dec 2 22:40:59 CST 2014
To make sure, I changed the location settings to device only, where I find that my GPS is not getting a fix on my location.
I am unsure if this is a software and/or a hardware issue.
Please advise.
Many thanks.
Did this occur when you converted to GPE? Or was it working fine on GPE? Any other system changes that may have triggered this?

I originally flashed the GPE 4.4.4 KitKat rom, and then more recently upgraded to 5.0.1 Lollipop. To be honest, I don't remember if the GPS module was working on it before I flashed Lollipop, since I don't use my M8 as my primary device. Also, I very recently replaced the rear case of my M8, due to damage, I am unsure if this might this cause GPS problems, since I am able to get a strong cellular connection, but no GPS.

The recent replacement of the rear housing is really suspicious. You may have damaged the antenna, or contacts are not touching properly. See a similar problem here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8/help/htc-m8-gps-problem-hardware-issue-t2963747

I think that that might be exactly it, the antenna likely didn't make proper contact with the rear case.
Thank you so much for your help.
Well guys, my english is really bad so, i pasted the text what i posted in htcmania translated with google translate.
"First of all I must clarify that I am fully co desperate ... mostly because of not knowing what the **** is wrong with this phone.
I'm going to summarize everything.
A few weeks ago my mother told me that your screen is not rotated, then got into the menu of Samsung (* # 0 * #) to check that it was not a failure of the sensors and indeed it was, or seemed to be.
So far, all sensor data threw least the magnetometer and accelerometer. I tried everything, I integrate mobile disarmament, pass a neodymium magnet plate by carefully etc. Everything to do with the unit did. There was no other option for these sensors are damaged and most likely they were to touch plate change. Finally the phone could use so I will pay my S3 (which works perfectly) to my mother I stay with this as he gathered the money to buy a plate and change it.
Days later I started to lose my job ROM and the install CM12.1 got everything perfect and when you start the phone and turn perfectly broken screen, I was shocked, the first thing I thought is that perhaps CM12 using the front camera or other sensor to rotate the device, in order to assure lower the app CPU-Z to check the sensors and I find that the accelerometer data perfectly cast, lower Sensor Kinetics to make it a fabulous test and walked the other hand the magnetometer (compass) He never responded.
I thought, "Well I hit and walked out"
But it was not so fortunate who had since returning to Stock (4.3) I meet who do not respond, but I get confused the next day back to my job and under various Roms to try in my home-based CM10, 10.1 , 10.2, 11, 12.1 and a pair based on stock. Well. The accelerometer only I worked in 3 Roms, the 3 based on CM12.1.
And here most of my questions arises.
You likely they are to be a problem Soft?
If it were, returning to a stock should solve tried 4.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.3 and nothing.
But on the other hand I think if directly Hardware not work at all, that is because Lollipop works and not lower?
I want to clarify that it is no coincidence that works in Cm12.1 since I reinstalled and reinstalled and perfect furula (only the accelerometer)
You think? There is a possibility that there may be some partition where deleted files are communicating sensors? If so, I have possibilities to operate the accelerometer in all Roms and recover the magnetometer restoring those files?
HELP PLEASE NO LONGER DO BOYS."
The sensors only works in Roms based on CM12.1 (5.1.1)
I could run only the accelerometer in that roms, magnetometer never responded
How is posibble what the sensors works in CM Roms and not in Stock roms? Damn guys, I'll set fire to this phone.
Hi,
Sony Xperia z2 D6503.
Bootloader: Unlocked.
Root: NOT rooted.
The device has a microphone issue. When talking on headset (not speaker) the other side hardly hears a word / does not hear at all. When phone is supported by the shoulder, the other side says the voice is "broken" (if he manages to hear).
This issue was for quite some time, only now the phone came to me. It is a phone who the owner purchased as a "Grade A used phone". The phone has no warranty.
The past few month, the phone had 23.1.A.0.726 (UK version).
Yestorday:
I've flashed via "emma tool" 23.1.A.1.28 - Microphone issue is still there.
I've flashed via "FlashTool" 23.4.A.1.264 (UK version) - Microphone issue is still there.
[Yes, Iv'e tried the "Noice Cancelling Suppression" option]
I am not sure how to root the phone because bootlader is unlocked. There is no data on the phone, so I don't care for any data loss.
I still hope there will be a way to solve the issue via software like suggested in this thread or here.
Or, a different solution, to flash eXistenZ ROM, mentioned here.
The day-today user os the phone is a ~24 old female. She is a simple user. Calls, tests, plays a few games, IM etc. Nothing special. She loves the battery life and the camera of the device. I believe that she does not really care if the Android version is 4.2 / 4.4 / 5.0.x / 5.1 / 6.x. As long as the device will work properly, she'll be grateful.
I am open to any idea, hopefully, will not need to by a replacement part (I will disassemble the phone myself, but, need to make sure what part I should purchase).
I am aware I am quite a newbie in the Android world. I have flashed many ROOMs on different devices. Used several times flashtool / adb commands (via a PC). But, I have a lot to learn and know I'll have a learning curve with the Xperia Z2.
I would love any input and guidance on how to root the phone. I don't care to downgrade to any version if it is necessary. The eXistenZ ROM is 4.4.x KitKat based on Stock 4.4.4 23.0.1.A.0.167.
How does one downgrade from 5.1 to 4.4? Should I flash the stock *.ftf 4.4 via FlashTool?
Hope the post is clear. Sorry for my English....
Thanks!
Have you tried setting microphone gain to high? Otherwise it's a hardware issue, or your microphone is blocked with dirt...
Sent from my D6503 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Tnx for your reply.
Where do I change the microphone gain? Tried googling it, but, no success.
The past few hours, I finally managed to flash eXistenZ ROM (after soft bricking the phone and other fun stuff).
The phone is rooted now (with eXistenZ ROM).
The past few days I googled and googled. Read a lot, but... still stuck :/
The mic issue seems to be a little bit better, but, far from ideal.
I have no idea what are the optimized settings with this ROM.
If any member has this ROM due to the mic issue, I would love some advice.
Feeling like I'm grasping at straws.
~~~~~
As for hardware issue -
1. My understanding is that the mic is located on the bottom-base of the phone (not under the screen).
2. What do you mean by dirt? should I disassemble the phone and clean it out? (I don't care to open it myself. I have a history of replacing phone parts. I'm not a professional, but, find my way... [a few iPhones, Nexus 5, a few Samsung devices and more).
3. If I'll need to replace the microphone, I'll purchase the part from AliExpress (I don't live in Europe or North America). I am not sure if this part or maybe this.
False alarm... My bad, I thought you didn't try the noise suppression trick.
Hello one big problem I have is while I speak proximity sensor does not work as it has and while i speak maybe notifications open or anything else...
can you please tell me if there is any solution?
thank you
Hi, this is know issue from Xperia 1 II. And sony support know that but there is now fix for this. Sony explained that this fault is because of its shape and size. Correct if i am wrong.
Following, as this is one of the most annoying things on this device.
I think in one of the forums was guy that contacted sony support and they have stated that this is design problem and they cant fix this. You need to get used to it and dont move your phone in the ear when talking.
sensor is on the right side of the speaker, some 5-6mm so try to catch your phone a bit more on the right side and once you get used to that it won't be happening so frequently
