Hello,
How long does it normally take to auto re-connect with your phone once you get back in bluetooth range?
Mine needs at least 5 minutes before I have a connection again... Seems pretty long to me.

Hmm... is your bluetooth visibility on your phone always on, is it discoverable by all devices?

Nope, only visible to paired devices. But as soon as I get back in range it connects almost instantly, it's hardly 2 seconds, more like 1 second actually. 5 minutes doesn't seem right. If it was only 20 secs or so, but 5 mins?!
Are you using Gohma rom? I am, and I noticed it takes a while to reconnect. I don't remember how fast it reconnected with stock.

Nope, stock Android Wear. My N5 has a custom rom and kernel, not sure if it has anything to do with it..

for some reason on the gear FIT it always disconnects the bluetooth when the phone screen turns off, but when the phone screen turns on it reconnects.
Are you using some sort of battery saving app or power saving mode?
no and nope. I think its my stupid note 2. but there isnt a way to check it out

I figured out the issue went to wifi standby and put it to turn off wifi when screen is off and when the phone is plugged in to keep wifi on. it seems that my wifi was interfering with the bluetooth.
moderate problem solved. this thread can be locked
I am going to rebump this topic because i just got a new phone Note 4 N910u on 5.0.1 and my bluetooth keeps disconnecting.. randomly .. and i dont know what to do.. anyone got any ideas. that i haven't already tried. i got to fix this issue on my note 2, but i tried that idea but it didn't work.. when the screen turns off. the bluetooth disconnects and the bluetooth is left in discover forever. and standby wifi is off. this fixed the issue on my note2. but now i can't seem to fix this issue on my note 4.

Did you figure this one out? I have a Note 8 with the same problem.
Hi for those who have played with the Zenwatch 2, have you experienced any bluetooth disconnect issues?
I am about to buy one for my wife but heard there had been some bluetooth disconnect issues in the past with the orginal Zenwatch, so just want to make sure.
Thanks!
Andrew
I've noticed it does seem to disconnect a lot and even close to watch but usually connects back by itself
I have fun into this problem, but it doesn't happen very often. I assume it's a coding problem add Erik Gerry psyched with a firmware update when Marshmallow launches
Yes... regularly... multiple times a day. Phone is always in my shirt pocket, pants pocket or hand, so it's not a distance issue. Wish i could find a way to turn off the vibration every time it disconnects/reconnects
I don't seem to have this issue that I have noticed. Have had it for a bit now with no issues.

I am using a zenfone 2 with my zenwatch. Only time I have noticed it disconnected is when I'm out of range of my phone which is normal. Otherwise everything seems consistent even compared to my Moto 360.

I had a few disconnects beeing next to the phone. But only 3-4 times.
But I had a few reconnect issues after out-of-range disconnects. The watch didn't reconnect properly and I had to fiddle around, reboot, disable BT,...
I just need to use android wear on the phone to retry but it is still odd I suspect it is related to the OS on my phone for saving battery life?

I reset the watch rebooted the phone then the watch and removed the zen watch manager/zen camera and some unused watch face seems better now
Once we get on this watch. A lot of things can get fixed from us dev's. Just waiting on the source code.

Weird. I have the LG G4 and had the LG G Watch for about 6 months prior to getting the AZW2 and I've never noticed it ever disconnect throughout the day. The only time is when I walk out of range, but it reconnects again when I am in the general area
I just got the disconnect issue today. If I restart the watch it'll reconnect, but only for a few minutes then it disconnects. Rinse and repeat. I'd do a factory reset if I weren't at work and far away from my charging cable.
I bought the Zenwatch 2 a week ago. I'm using it with my S6. Software on both is up to date however the watch continues to get disconnected. Last night I did a factory reset on the watch and after a few minutes it disconnected again. WiFi isn't turned on either (which I read might cause interference with the radio or frequencies). I don't think there's any other option left but to return this and try another Zenwatch 2 (hoping it is an isolated issue).
I had a few disconnects, but only when it was out of range. The thing is, I let the phone somewhere in the house and I just wander around. The range on this thing is amazing! But when I get back in range it just reconnects automatically, just as it should. I must say, I am really impressed with the little one :d
Note3 5.0 stock rooted+latest update ZW2
Just curious if this is the way the device works with my phone, the Android Wear app always says "connected", however, whenever I go to the bluetooth settings on the watch, it's always disconnected...........no matter how many times I hit it to connect, it never does................but I always get notifications as usual, and it will vibrate for every call I receive on my phone.
Wifi is still connected. Never used bluetooth since i last setup my watch. Just using my phone as WiFi access point.

Hey,
Curious as to if any one uses a smart watch with their Note 8, if so which one and how has the experience been?

I've had a Gear S3 Frontier for some months with my Note 7. What's different is the battery life, already good on the Frontier, is even better paired with the Note 8. Hoping an update will come exchanging SVoice for Bixby. SVoice sucks, I never use it. The watch is excellent if you have to attend a lot of meetings. Checking notifications doesn't disrupt anything or draw stares.

Ticwatch 2 works great and looks the best imo than any other smartwatch
Old school motto 360 gen 2. Perfectly in sync. Battery life on either device is stellar in my daily use.
I use the Gear s3 - love it - they go perfectly together.
I use the Gear 2. The original Gear and the Gear 2 are the only ones able to take pictures using the device's builtin camera. It's the feature that I use all the time when traveling. You can still find them available.

I have the Samsung Gear S3 LTE.
Its been great. I can't think of any negative experiences with it and it syncs flawlessly with S-Health.

It's actually amazing even with the always on display you can get 2-3 full days out of it depending on how much you actually use it's features and yes you can with voice, you can also add quick replies and make phone calls through it's speaker
Gear S3 Frontier LTE
Using both Gear S2 Classic and Huawei Watch with Note 8. Both work fine.
I have the gear s3 paired with my s8 now, next week I am get the note. While almost the same phone. I would say it's a great to use.
What I love about my gear s3
1. I can pair the watch to the phone and my Bluetooth headphones to the watch. This way i can control my songs off my s3.
2. Heart rate. Having high blood pressure I like to see my heart rate. It looks weird at work or social events taking out the phone and placing my finger on the back of the phone. With the watch I press a button and it reads it.
3. Watch faces! I love I can change the look of the watch. It's such a great thing. It's like owning a hundred different kind of watches.
4. Watch bands. I can change the look on the fly. It takes seconds to change bands.
5. Battery life is double edge sword. The phone does discharge a little more due the Bluetooth, but using the watch to check time, read messages and other good things also helps the phone battery.
6. For work it's a great thing. You can ignore calls without taking out ur phone. See messages and reply without getting in trouble.
The bad.
1. The cost of these watches is high.
2. Battery life on the watches are not that great as they say. I mean yes it can hold a charge for about two days which means less charging. With me I notice I have a whole day and the next day I need to charge it midday. Kind of piss me off. give me two days of 12 to 14 hours. I do not want to charge it at night when it's 60 to 70%
3. The looks you get talking to your watch lol. Might not be bad sometimes lol.
4. I wish more apps are available. Samsung messed up. They should of made it andriod based .
Pebble Round. Older watch but still one of the thinnest smart watches I have owned. Very basic for notification and etc came from a S2 Classic. Considered the S3 Frontier but I lucked out on eBay with this watch.
My only gripe is the persistent notification that you cant clear from the gear manger, and it shows on the lock screen too. ugh

I have the original LG Urbane as well as the Gear S2 classic and love them both with my Note 8.
I use the original Huawei Watch and it's been great so far. Very nice looking watch too.
+1 for the Gear S3 LTE, although I never actually use the LTE portion.

+1 for Frontier LTE. Got an update for the tizen software a few weeks ago, and while paired, battery life dramatically decreases. Other than that, great pair.
gear S watch with curved rectangular screen. It may be 3 years old but works like a champ and constantly get complements.

+1 Gear S
Works great for calls while working with hands (main feature i use it for).
And +1 constant compliments...i love the real estate the screen has.

Hi folks, I have a new Huawei Mate 20 Pro and it initially had the feature on that turns the screen on when you pick the phone up. That was fine, but I noticed they it kept turning the screen on when I put it in my car dash holder, so I turned this feature off.
However, whilst the screen no longer comes on when I pick the phone up off my desk, it does still come on twice, every time I put it in the car holder.
The car holder doesn't plug into the phone at all, it just holds the phone, nothing more. But he screen seems to turn on and instantly face unlock (or turn on already unlocked, is how it actually seems), so I turn the screen off and then it always happens a second time. After the second time of turning it off it doesn't seem to do it again the whole journey but does anybody have any idea why it does this and how I can prevent it from doing so? My old Samsung never did this, so it must be a Huawei thing.
The only thing I can think is they it could be linked to do with the phone connecting to the car's Bluetooth, but that doesn't explain why it does it twice each time, and I can't find any settings to stop it from turning the screen on when it connects.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
EMUI 9 has been buggy AF for me, I'd say this is just another bug and who knows if they'll ever fix it
The stand doesn't have any magnets?

Do you also get any new notification each time the screen turns on?
In that case maybe your phone (or an app) is configured to turn on the screen to show its notification.
Nope, no magnets. It's a passive Brodit car holder. Plastic and grips the sides of the phone.
No notifications either. I think it must be something related to the Bluetooth, as picking the phone up and jiggling it as if it was in the holder whilst the car is in motion doesn't cause the screen to come on either.

Did a bit more testing with this and found that the screen doesn't come on when I put it I the holder without Bluetooth enabled. So it seems to be connecting to my BMW's Bluetooth that is causing the screen to come on twice, every time I connect the phone to the car.
Usually just as I pull out of my driveway the screen comes on, so I hit the power button, then a few seconds later it comes on again. After that it doesn't come on again unless I receive a call.
Does anybody have any idea how I might stop it from doing this? The BMW iDrive display shows a signal indicator as soon as the phone is connected, so I have no need for the screen to turn on, but it bugs me.
I just want the phone to connect and keep the screen off like my Samsung phones always did...

Maybe try go to Settings - Notifications - Bluetooth and turn off everything and see if it does anything?
Thanks. I've turned off "turn on display" for all notifications anyway, but just went into the Bluetooth settings and unticked the one that puts a notification on the lock screen.
Let's see if that works.
It's annoying, because the Bluetooth also causes the phone to instantly unlock, or the face unlock works really quickly from my phone cradle.

I've noticed that as well,I cant decide if its unlocked when connected via Bluetooth ( I havent added the car stereo as a Smart source) or if it just face unlocks damned quickly

Yeah, same. Doesn't unlock that quickly when it's right in front of my face!
I just need to find the setting to stop the car unlocking it. Perhaps that'll do it. I think the phone needs to be connected to the car to turn that off though.

Just did a quick test.
Turned off bluetooth
Wentout to van
Put phone in cradle
Sat in drivers seat
Hit power button
Instant face unlock.
Guess it works better if a bit further away from the face
