Hi all. Have an S6 edge Singaporean unit and had recently flashed the 5.1.1 update for India. Prior to the update while my unit was still on 5.0.2, I could dial a person using smart dialer where if there were any spaces, it'd be omitted. Eg. A name like Joe Flow. Corresponding keypress sequence on the dialer would be 5633569. But now post 5.1.1, after keying in 563, the next 3 I key in shows no matching records.
I would appreciate if anyone is able to confirm this same problem, and if it is a CSC related issue.
Thanks all.

I have the Korean version of SGS2. I can make phone calls, receive phone calls, connect via mobile internet and receive SMS but I can't send SMS. Will changing my ROM allow me to send SMS?
The service provider I'm using has the following bands
Service Provider GSM Frequency Band 3G Standard 3G Frequency Band
Globe Telecom 900 MHz/1800 MHz W-CDMA (UMTS) 2100 MHz
Thanks!
The M250S uses a different messaging standard from what i've heard. You can try changing ROM and see if that helps, if not then there's probably nothing much you can do unfortunately.
What ROM would you recommend for M250S?
The usual reason why MMS will not send is no details or wrong details for the Message Centre Number incorrect for network .

That is a possibility although I can't find a way to change this on the Galaxy S2.
Another possibility is the "unknown" label in the Settings>About Phone>My Phone Number section but I can't find any way to change it.
Got it! It was fixed by changing the My Phone Number in the SIM card which was done via CM (on my nexus s).
Thanks for your help guys!
P.S. Is there a way to close this topic?
More details please I have the same problem!
Hello all and please help,
I have the same situation with my korean SKT carrier phone m250s which I am using in South Korea. Every time I root my phone, I lose the capability to send and receive mms messages. Can someone please elaborate on how to fix this problem? It seems like there is an answer here already, but I'm not sure how to proceed and what exactly to change.
Much thanks

Are you able to view SMS messages that are in Korean? If so, could you tell me what ROM you're on?
Most recently, I rooted the phone with the red pill kernel and flashed litening rom 1.1 ics. Again the same issue arose. SMS worked fine, but for mms, it would say download, I'd press on it and nothing would happen. Installing and running handscent took care of this problem, but I still get the stock ssm/mms message that says download and it doesn't work!
I'm wondering if skt has fixed it so that when a non-stock firmware / kernel is detected, they disable mms, or imei file is changed.
But to answer your question, yes, I can receive and send files in Korean.
U should stay stock... Only one option use thirdparty apps like GO Sms Pro or so...

Hi
I recently installed [AOKP-B37][27/05]Resurrection Remix ics v2.0[4.0.4] on my i9100, Battery life and speed are very nice but I found out a problem,
When i am on the conference bridge of my work, we need to dial an 7 digit access code for bridge details. SO I found out that it seems every number I tap in, it says: incorrect number. And I know that the number is correct, because when I dial it with my regular phone it works.
ANybody had this dialer problem also and how to resolve it?
Thx
Kevin
anyone?
Can someone perhaps point me to a new phone.apk that will work on an ICS for Galaxy S2?
Hi, I've got exactly the same problem. I'm in NL and I often use conference bridges from KPN and Microsoft. Both give me the same problem "Invalid acces code". Using another phone works as a charm. I'm using Stock Cyanogenmod 9 latest nigthly and the LPW baseband.
Sometimes i reboot and then it seems to work ... very strange.
If someone knows how to solve, please let me know
Exactly the same problem...
I am facing the exact problem... if some one knows the answer, kindly help. In fact I am planning to buy a new cheap descent phone to address this. Your solution will save me frm managing 2 phones

My real problem for past 1 week is to use what key words to search this problem... I got the clue from Kevain's post (Thanks ) and found the solution:
1. Either turn off speaker phone while dialing conference bridge - worked for me
2. Turn off the Dial pad touch tone (Settings -> Sounds) - worked for me
Reference:
I could not post the reference URL as I am new here, any way google for this "Galaxy Nexus/ICS Dialer and entering of codes - Google mobile help"
Waw, I'm going to try that out, I indeed found out that sometimes the problem is not there, but I never linked it to the speaker phone ...
Good news in any case that there is a workaround!
Thanks a lot for your reply
Hi,
I recently helped a colleague purchase a Galaxy SIII phone here in China, Guangzhou and made sure I checked the phone over completely before I purchased it.
I've done a search on the forums and check out anything that may be similar, but to no avail.
The problem is:
The phone will not receive any text messages, or at least they don't go through to the messaging app.
Text messages were being received normally for around a week
I disabled a bunch of pre-installed Chinese crap that is unfortunately not un-installable as it's baked into the ROM
It happened once, so I factory reset it, and then tested it. The text messages worked fine
I then disabled the Chinese stuff once again and installed Skype. Just to be sure, I sent more test text messages, and they were all received fine.
Around one week later, here we are, she says that text messages are not being received again.
All other functions of the phone are working. Internet / Edge network, sending texts, Play store, everything. Just not the receiving of texts!
I'm fairly confused as to this behaviour, particularly as it seems the text messages are working for a time limited period.
I had some inklings of what it could be:
- The SIII takes a micro-sim, the shop "manually" chopped the SIM using a cutter. Could this have damaged the SIM and caused this behaviour?
- The phone itself is faulty
- Something is up with the China Mobile settings / network and she needs to call them.
What would be your diagnosis, ideas, solutions XDA'ers?
Further information of any kind is, of course, available on request.
**** My ideas for a fix ****
Root the bastard and get a standard UK ROM on the phone to see if it works. However, I have some concerns. Years ago, when I bought my first HTC desire, when I rooted and put a UK ROM on it, I discovered that my phone was an imported Thai version of the phone and almost bricked it into a reboot loop as the phone didn't like a different regions ROM being loaded on.
I had to go through a convoluted process of making a specially edited SD-card to fool the phone into accepting different ROMS. Is this the case with the Galaxy SIII or have times moved on to more sophisticated means?
Thanks.
GJO
Have you try other messaging apps like Hancent SMS or Go SMS to confirm that msg service is not working?
Or maybe the CSC is causing the problem?

Open the stock messaging app. In its menu go to settings. Check that there is a number recorded under message centre. If not use Google to find the number for the carrier you are with and enter it.
I'm on an unrooted phone with a stock Rom and twice messaging has stopped working. The cause was that this number had spontaneously disappeared.

Ok, I've tried:
- alternative messaging apps, and they're not picking it up either.
- the message centre number.
When you say CSC? You mean the carrier code? It was bought in China and fitted with a Chinese ROM, but I'll look at the ROM settings and see what it is.
Thanks.
U dial *#1234# then you can see your csc
CSC – (Consumer Software Customization) Refers to the specific country or carriers for that said firmware is being build.
This where it contains the default settings of each specific geographical region, carrier network providers and network data connections.

I am having this problem. It was all working fine then suddenly it stopped. I don't know what could be the cause but I fooled around with the settings, deleted old text messages and then suddenly I received dozens of text messages.
It's like my phone isn't trying to receive any text messages. It can send text messages out but it won't receive any.
I am using Omega 31.1.
Can someone help me out please?

I had the same issue,
I changed the Network options from gsm only to "Auto" mode, and apparently it worked for me.
Although I don't often need SMS functionality from my tablet, I have noticed that for the last few months I can no longer send text messages.
It used to work - I have GoSMS installed and can see messages I sent in January. After talking to O2 UK for over an hour, I took a trip to my local store, where they tested my SIM which IS working fine - when it's not in my N9!
I tried a factory reset.
My tablet is locked and not rooted. I updated to 5.1.1 from the image on Google's site.
Sim does work in other devices.
Is no one else having problems sending SMS on their LTE N9 then?
I thought I'd update as so many views of thread.
My O2 sim works in any device EXCEPT my Nexus 9. Data Works, but no SMS.
Any other Network sims work in my Nexus 9, so it's not a problem with tablet from what I can see. I think something must have happened when I rooted the device when on Android 5.0.2. Device was then unrooted and bootloader re-locked (only do this on stock roms!).
Got a new sim on the way. Will update soon.
reverted to 5.0.1
So I decided to flash 5.0.2 - nothing changed, flashed 5.0.1 and bingo! It works.
I then let tab update to 5.0.2 - still working
Then let it update to 5.1.1 - FAIL - data works, but no sms
Update:
After RMAing for screen problems, the replacement I got connects to 4g fine, but still no SMS or MMS.
I sideloaded Google messenger, when I send SMS it says 'Can't send message using CARD 1: Error -1
MMS says 'Service not activated on network'
O2 have sent new sims, reprovisioned the tablet, but still nothing Is no one else having this problem?
Tablet Info
Thought I'd drop a screen-shot of my Tablet Info in to see if anyone sees anything unusual that might be causing my problems....

Did you find a solution to your problem? This seems to be the only place where I can find this same error message.

Nope - no solution. You have this problem as well?
I'm on Android N preview 2 now and was hoping it would be fixed, but it's not. Still the only way I can send/receive SMS is to downgrade to Android 5.0.2
Hi there!
I am currently strongly in need of a application that adds a recall button on incoming call screen.
That will cut and recall the incoming call no. after few seconds.
I tried searching but haven't found one.
Hope will get one . . . .
BTW Thanks in Advance!
