Yes.
Download the factory odin tar
Copy file to sdcard/phone
Do factory reset from recovery, don't reboot the phone
Power down from recovery
Boot into download mode and flash with Odin..
That worked for me from 5.1.1 to 5.0. I think it'd work for going to kk also.
Good luck

Thanks VoiD_Dweller, I was hesitant at first but I did it, after a factory reset from recovery straight back to download mode, downgraded using Odin from 5.1.1 to 5.0 then I did a factory reset again from recovery back to download mode and this time I went all the way back and downgraded to KitKat 4.4.2 NE6 Stock Firmware so I can root without triggering KNOX (0x0) using Towelroot, everything went very smoothly, to avoid getting stuck on boot or getting error messages never setup the phone after each downgrade until you get to your desired firmware.

Excellent.. Glad it worked. I made the mistake of ota updating after I just got this unit and hadn't realized it wasn't rootable until afterwards. Took a few attempts. Glad I'm back to 5.0.. Gotta be able to use root apps or I'd go nuts.

Hey Guys,
So I was running the google experience rom v3 and I decided to head on over to another rom but forgot to wipe before hand and my phone got a little wonky. I eventually ended up doing a complete Odin factory flash which brought me right back to VRUAMDK, when I went to install the OTA update to VRUAME7 my phone would reboot but would not apply and changes and I would get a notification telling me I cant update. I used an Odin flash to the VRUAME7 stock rom and that worked but for some reason I cant flash any sort of recovery now. Booting into recovery just brings me to download mode. I've tried flashing a recovery with Odin with failures on the write. Did I seriously F&#$ up my Nand? I just want to be able to run a recovery and have my GE S4 back Any help would be majorly appreciated.

The VRUAME7 firmware patched the Loki exploit and therefore you can not install a custom recovery. Right now all you can do is root the device also there is no way to go back to the VRUAMDK firmware.

Wow, am I really that oblivious? apparently.. any reason why this might not work on VRUAMDK either? pretty sure I tried flashing through goomanager on that and ran into the same issue..
I have Sprint Note 3. I rooted it using ODIN to get superSU but i wanted to flash back to stock rom so i can get kitkat update OTA.
Something went wrong during flash...
Now when i open phone i get firmware upgrade entrenched an issue. please select recovery mode in kies and try again
Please help!
Try booting back into download mode (power device on from an off state using power+home+vol-down) and reflashing the stock MJ4 tar file. Hopefully it will reboot into stock MJ4. Then boot into stock recovery (power on device from an off state using power+home+vol-up) and wipe cache and do a factory reset. Then reboot back into download mode and reflash the stock MJ4 once again.
From that point you should be able to take an OTA update.
Note: when flashing a ROM via Odin.. Wait for Odin to show you how long it took to complete. Your phone may reboot. Pulling the plug early may result in errors.

Hi, I was using safestrap to install a new rom. I wiped data/cache/factory reset, I also wiped the system which I guess left me with no operating system. When I flashed ROM it failed and when phone rebooted it cant load past samsung logo.
phone is Galaxy s4 verizon 4.4.2 SCH-I545 build number NG6. has stock recovery...
How can I get it back to normal?
I need advice ASAP as I use my phone for work.

Download the NK4 tar here and use Odin to return to stock. Once on stock keep checking for software updates until you get it.

For whatever reason, I had to Odin twice to go back to stock.
Here is what I did:
1. Boot into recovery, wipe everything
2. Odin file, don't check automatic reboot
3. Once its done, pull battery, boot into stock recover, do factory reset
4. Reboot into download mode
5. Odin file again
This is exactly what I did and I received the update.
Edit - I used the original NAB image which was 4.4.2. It then automatically let me update via Sprint to 4.4.4, and then to 5.0
When using Odin, always make sure to power down your phone completely and then press and hold volume down, home and power at the same time. Then press volume up to confirm download mode.

I actually had to Odin 5 times before it would boot the last time I went into recovery and wipe data and factory reset the Odin nk4 tar. It finally booted but still says system status custom so when I check for updates its a no go.
I was running rooted SPRINT KK 4.4.4 N900PVPUDNK4 and now I'm on Lollipop w/ root and TWRP 2.8.6.1 (4.4.4 version) recovery. My steps:
1. Odin'd stock NK4 tar using Odin3 v3.09 in the AP slot (kept Auto Reboot & F. Reset Time checked).
2. Let phone reboot. Skipped all the setups.
3. Powered down phone than booted into stock recovery to perform a factory reset.
4. Once phone rebooted I went to 'System Updates' and let the OTA do its thing. Phone rebooted.
5. Powered down phone and rebooted into bootloader (everything showed official)
6. Odin'd TWRP using Odin3 v3.09 in the AP slot (UNCHECKED Auto Reboot & F. Time checked).
7. Pulled battery and rebooted into recovery (TWRP).
8. Flashed Chainfire's UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46 and rebooted.
9. Successfully rooted.
Is there a way to download the update and just flash it in stock recovery?

thnks , but i already have NK4 . looking for lollipop 5.0 tar file.
ok I odin back to stock NH7...
took the ota to NK4...
then took ota to OC5..
everything is cool but a few questions...
Does cf auto root work on OC5 I didnt see the file on his site?
Which recovery works best CWM Philz or TWRP ? and im sure i need a lolipop compatible one?
Waanum xposed for 5.0 ready yet?
Root, debloat, and enable wifi hotspot are usually my main goals...
Definitely looking for a Lolipop hotspot Mod?
Is it just me or does the notification panel have to be touched at the top to be dragged down? ( All previous builds I could set a gesture swipe down to bring down notifications.
I mean it doesnt work on NOVA or Lightning Launcher?
So cf auto root for oc5 yes,for recovery I'm using twrp 2.8.6.1 and is working just fine, and so for right now exposed is not working on samsung based roms but if you have an aosp rom even if it is for samsung it may work and for free wifi hot spot you can use galaxy tools(idoneapps) i don't remember about notification panel since I'm on darklord rom.

http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/ here you go look for ms-900p it will say nh7 4.4.4 but you can use it to root your sprint note 3 on 5.0 oc5!!!
TWRP 2.8.0.0 works great. I Odin'ed: openrecovery-twrp-2.8.0.0-hltespr-4.4.img.tar
Native hotspot mod works on stock ROM without root. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2796994
Xposed framework will take time for Samsung devices. Check for updates at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
You don't need cf auto root. Flash your recovery. I'm still using philz not a single issue. Then flash supersu zip and reboot that's it.

I did an ODIN with NK4 and NH7 but the software version still reads OC5?? I do not get it as I looked in build.prop to see if that was where it pulls it from. If I go into settings about....SOFTWARE VERSION reads N900PVPUEOC5??? How is this possible if I did a factory reset and did a ODIN with both NK4 tar and then tried NH7 tar?? I cannot seem to get the OTA again since the system seems to think I have OC5......HELP PLZ!:crying:
