Help me save my S4 i545 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

So I have a S4 i9545 for Verizon. It was on 4.2.2 rooted and I upgraded using Fireflash with I545_OC1_Stock_DeOdexed_ROMwNK4_BL.zip. Everything seemed fine so I was using Titanium back up to remove the bloatware and then my battery died. When I charged it and booted up it got to the Verizon screen and hung there. I reset and tried several more times. I tried to use odin and flash a stock ROM SCH-I545_VZW_1_20140330160240_yni63xq6zh and I also tried one more. Odin gave a an error and failed. I then tried going into the boot loder and flash the I545_OC1_Stock_DeOdexed_ROMwNK4_BL.zip. Not sure if this was foolish or not. When I booted up I got to a black screen and there was a voice talking, maybe some sort of training, but I couldn't do anything.
If anyone can point me in the right direction on how to unbrick my S4 I would appreciate it. I know I screwed up.

Right now when I turn on the phone it says firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again. I tried connected to my computer and opening kies but it doesn't find it.

Try disconnecting your phone, completely closing Kies, then re-launching it with your phone still disconnected. Then click Tools > Firmware Upgrade and Initialization then follow the prompts

[Q] Tried ICS update, now 100% bricked.

I went to upgrade my unrooted, totally stock Gs2 this morning to ICS via Kies. It downloaded the actual firmware to the PC, but froze on 2% for about 2 hours when upgrading the firmware to the phone
I unplugged it, and when I tried to turn the phone on in recovery mode to do an emergency firmware restore, it simply went to a screen that says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Select Recovery mode in Kies and try again". I can't get out of this screen, and when I attempt to recover in Kies, it stays at 0% or cancels out...HELP!!!!
It wont let me do a hard reset or boot up in recovery mode.
Btw- The samsung rep I spoke to on Livechat said he had no information about the ICS update and refused to acknowledge it's release.
Am I totally out of luck, or is there a way to save my phone?
If you were running stock, and using Kies for the update, I would call AT&T for a warranty replacement ... unless you bought it as a refurb more than 90 days ago.

I think any sign of life (screen coming ON) means you can still recover it. Ask creepyncrawly on these forums, he has a ton of information on this. If you can't find him try mobiletechvideos they have JIG's and can recover for a price if you send your phone to them.

Checking in, I've got the same problem. I'm beyond frustration at this point because I can't even convince it to boot into recovery mode, which means that it can't conduct an emergency recovery...
Edit: Emergency firmware recovery just started working for the first time! I'm at 85%...updates as they come.

I would suggest flashing back to stock UCKH7. Follow the guide How to Prepare Your Phone to Return to the Store or for Warranty Replacement which is linked in my signature. Do this whether you were originally on UCKH7 or UCKK6.
If you know you started on UCKH7 then you can probably flash without doing a wipe data/factory reset. If you know you started on UCKK6 then you must do a wipe data/factory reset, and may have to do it anyway if you have any problems. You will lose any installed applications and personal settings.
In Kies "recovery mode" means "Odin mode". Pull/replace battery, hold down your volume keys, plug in USB cable and see what Kies does.
You should have posted in this already existing related thread. Read it, you might find an answer.

Yup, as out friend Miami pointed out, there is already a thread for this. Lets keep this conversation over there to avoid confusion.

[Q] Kies wont recognize, drivers wont install, cannot boot up!! HELP ME!!

i know what most of you are thinking, i have already read through forum after forum for 4, going on 5, hours now. several people have similar situations to mine, but not similar enough to actually help me.
i rooted my s2 earlier today and it went perfectly. then i tried to use odin to flash jellybean to my phone, it was the stock rom. but since that little box wasn't yellow, it failed. my drivers were not properly installed. i forgot to install kies and get my drivers before i did this process. i thought i had already properly installed the drivers i needed, and i am still unsure of what the heck im supposed to have in order to make odin work. well i got this lovely little screen saying "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in kies & try again."
so i installed kies. immediately it said that no device was connected. so i unplugged and replugged my phone, said "connecting" but it never connected. not even twenty minutes later. so i rebooted my computer. nothing worked. i tried to boot my phone up to turn off "usb debugging" in case i had turned it on a few days ago without realizing it. the phone wont boot. its stuck on the screen that tells me "firmware upgrade encountered a problem".
however, i can get it to go back into downloading mode, but that doesnt really help me much since odin still cant flash my firmware correctly. it keeps bringing me back to that dreaded screen, im to the point of wanting to rip all my hair out. what else can i do?
someone must know how to deal with this situation. please please please help me! i dont want a $150 paperweight ):
thank you!

Disconnect the cable. Remove the battery and let it out for 10 minutes. Put it back in, go into download mode. Connect with odin and flash again. Hope this will work for you.

[Q] HELP!!! Phone will not boot correctly

So here's the story. I'm kind of terrified right now that my phone might be a goner. So, I was wanting to apply the new update to my galaxy but everytime I tried it would say "error" and wouldn't work. So I removed my root via superSU hoping that might help, with no success. So the nice people on this forum were directing me to flash a stock rom through odin to my phone. I kept trying and trying and my phone would never get recognized by odin so nothing would happen. I tried everything that I could read online to fix it and it never did. So I just decided that I would boot to recovery and do a clean wipe of my phone after I back it up. well the backup didn't work, so I just took my SD card out since it had most of the stuff I wanted to keep. I tried the clean wipe and it was done really quickly. I started up the phone and after I selected my language it said the setup wizard was stopped. Since then, I can't get the phone to boot correctly. It gets past the verizon splash screen(after a way longer wait than normal) and says "com.samsung.(something) has stopped working" and then just reboots itself. It'l almost stuck in this endless cycle. Can anyone help me out? If not, just give me the bad news straight up, do I need to trash this phone? Did I successfully kill it on accident?

Restoring this is going to be fairly easy once you get ODIN working.
First, make sure that Kies isn't running. Kies and ODIN will conflict with each other.
Normally issues with ODIN are fixed by ensuring that the cable is good, trying different USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers.
If nothing works and you can't get ODIN to work, you might be able to use the Verizon Recovery Assistant or Kies to restore your phone to factory.

[Q] Bricked my first phone :( Samsung SGH-T989D

I am fairly certain that my phone can't be recovered, but I want to be sure so I'm asking for a bit of help here.
Phone is a Samsung S2X SGH-T989D, on Koodo (a child of Telus). It was running Android 4.1.2. Unfortunately I can't get into the phone for more details.
I tried to flash a custom recovery using Odin v1.85. It was a CWM recovery md5 file, but I don't have the version number (it wasn't listed in the guide I was using - http://www.theandroidsoul.com/easil...gh-t989-installs-busybox-superuser-app-52203/)
The process seemed to complete normally, but when I restarted the phone I ended up with a "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
Loading Kies (Odin not running) it detect when the phone is connected and tries to read the details from the phone, but after several minutes it complains of a connection error and tells me to reboot the device. This is all I can get Kies to do.
Odin detects the phone normally. I try to restore the stock Telus/Koodo firmware (T989DTLUMC4_T989OYBMC4_T989DTLUMC4_HOME.tar.md5) using Odin v3 or Odin v1.85 and Odin goes through all the steps successfully. After all is done I restart the phone and get the same error message.
"adb.exe devices" at a Windows 7 command prompt does not list any devices.
So this is where I am... I have a physically mint condition Samsung S2X SGH-T989D phone that I cannot get to boot past this error screen.
Is there anything else I can try?
FIXED!
Yay!
I solved my problem... Using Odin3 v1.85 I tried to flash the phone one more time. The only difference is that I left the Auto Reboot checkbox selected. The process went through like every other time except at the end the phone restarted. IT CAME UP LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG!
So, I didn't lose any data and my phone is working fine now.
Makes me VERY happy. There are TOO MANY PHONES to choose from these days. My head was spinning trying to decide on a replacement phone.
Hope this helps someone in the future!

I soft bricked my phone

I successfully rooted my phone about a year and a half ago, all went well. Sunday night I had my phone plugged into my computer, and somehow I must have clicked "update" in the Verizon Assistant thing. So it starts updating, and about 2 seconds later I realized what I did. So the phone finishes updating and then goes into the setup wizard. I got a couple questions in and got a message to the effect of "The wizard stopped working", I'd hit "ok" and less than a second later the message would pop back up. So I figured I'd reflash the existing ROM in Odin. "Fail".
Now my phone turns on and goes straight into what I believe is Odin mode. It says "ODIN MODE" with the same text it has in what I know is Odin mode. The only difference is that it doesn't have the green android in the center, it says "Software Update Failed - Your device didn't update successfully, Use the Verizon Software Repair Assistant on a computer to repair your device and complete the update". (Is this the same mode as entering Odin mode with the power/home/vol dn buttons?) So I tried that. Five times. Each time it stops at 83% and says the phone was unplugged. It wasn't, I tried combinations of different cables/USB ports.
From what I've found so far, you need to know my bootloader to help me. The ROM I flashed all those months ago (and tried to reflash recently) was "I545VRUFNC5_I545VZWFNC5", My original build was "KOT49H.I545VRUFNG6", The Verizon Repair Assistant sees "Version OF1"... So I guess I have NC5 or some screwed up combination of NC5 and OF1?
I *may* have had a little bit of data on the phone that I'd like to save, almost everything was on the external card, which I have now removed to prevent accidents. However, I believe I've already lost any data that was in the phone? I'd be perfectly happy to get it working at all, but I would like to update to OF1, since it appears it can be rooted. If that's wrong, I'd like to have the newest version that can be rooted. But like I said, working at all would be great.
Thanks so much for any help
-Jason
